Ready for A Slow Dance w/ A Stranger(Kate)

[Kate]

Kate suddenly laughed, unable to resist it any longer. She couldn't keep it up, at least being all over him like this. Kate scooted away and jumped from the couch. She landed on her feet lightly and walked swiftly away from him. She walked to the kitchen, still in view from where Adrian was sitting. She got out two glasses and filled them with cider as there would probably be drinking at the party anyways.

"Fancy something to drink?"

She watched him the entire time, those emerald eyes dancing so. She hadn't really cared what his answer was. The blonde walked back to the table and placed one in front of him on the glass coffee table. She sat next to him drinking her glass, and looking at him calmly. One foot rubbed his feet, still teasing him a bit.

[Adrian]

Kate laughed and gave up the act, which brought a self-satisfied smirk to Adrian's face. It was the little victories such as this that he savored the most, as they were usually the only he got. She asked him if he wanted something to drink, and Adrian nodded an agreement. Something about the way she'd phrased the word 'drink' made him figure it was to be something containing alcohol, and his assumptions were correct as she poured two glasses of cider.

He shrugged, more to himself than to anyone else. She sat the glass down in front of him, and he smiled, nodding his thanks. "Thank you, Ms. McHallin," he said with a smile. He took a sip of the drink, having to brace himself for the alcohol. He didn't drink often at all, relegating it to something he did on very rare occasions. He believed in the old adage of drinking a glass of wine for one's health occasionally, but took it even less than what was usually accepted. Regardless, the drink was tasty.

"So what is it that drives you, Kate?" he asked suddenly, making conversation over the drink. "You've got all this money, this power, a handful of bodyguards at your beck and call. So what, exactly, are you going to do with it all?"

Adrian took another small drink, awaiting her answer. Adrian, for one, understood the need for power and money to balance and be weighed with purpose. Too much of either without the purpose or drive to match it, and one ends up in a fate all too similar to his own father.

[Kate]

He fell for it. Kate grinned at him, like she had won. Which she had, honestly. The female slapped him on his chest, a little harder than a playful sort of tap. There was humor in her eyes though, as Kate knew Adrian could take it.

"Moving your jaw, getting a drink, I'd say that was moving. And Adrian, I don't remember hearing you ask to move. Or giving you permission. In fact... you may have to beg for it."

They weren't in front of a crowd, but it'd still be rather interesting all the same. She sipped deeply of the cider, and smiled at him so sweetly. It was a smile that she had perfected over time, such a warming, perfect looking things.

"So if you want to move to touch me, take a drink, move in the least bit... beg for it Adrian Hanlon."

She had leaned over to whisper the last bit in his ear, pressing another kiss to the tender spot.

[Adrian]

So the girl wasn't done playing after all. She had feinted, and Adrian had fallen for it like a sucker. Making a mental note not to do that again, Adrian frowned. Just when he thought it was safe.

And now she was making him beg. Adrian pursed his lips, mulling the idea over a bit in his head. He looked with his eyes at the glass, then at her, then back at the glass, then at nothing but the inside of his eyelids when her lips fluttered over his ear again.

"And what if maybe I don't want to any of those things, my dear?" Adrian taunted back, trying his damnedest to remain as stock-still as possible. The stubborn boy would keep fighting to the end, it would seem.

[Kate]

This male, Adrian Hanlon was stubborn. He was beyond stubborn. One pale brow shot up as those emerald eyes looked at him. He could be as stubborn as he wanted. She was in charge, so it didn't damn well matter.

"Well then, I guess I'll have to find another date for tonight."

It was a simple statement. If he didn't want to move from that spot until his slave night was up, then Kate would let him. She wasn't going to beg for him to beg! She was in charge, where was the fun in that? She took a sip of cider and smiled straight at Adrian. What was his choice? What was he going to do?

He could make the choice to be stubborn. Or he could make the choice to be with her that night. Those emerald eyes were cool and business night, waiting for his answer.

[Adrian]

Adrian's cool blue eyes regarded her almost coldly, and, after a long moment of staring, Adrian let out a long sigh. He shook his head, an almost rueful grin crossing his features.

"You really are something, you know that, Ms. McHallin?" Adrian asked, not requiring or even needing an answer. Kate knew exactly what she was, and Adrian was well aware.

Adrian slid off the couch, dropping to his knees sullenly. His hands clasped together as if he were praying to the Angel of Kate. He did his best to wipe the resentfulness off his face, adopting instead a sad, hopeful, hopelessly fake look.

"My dear, glorious mistress, of whom all things wonderful stem, may I, please, oh please, partake of this drink and engage in conversation with the most amazing likes of you, even though I am, in all ways, utterly not worthy of even being seen in your great presence?"

Adrian tried his best to keep his smirk down. It was cheesy and woefully over-the-top, and yet, Adrian wasn't entirely sure he was making it all up. Regardless, he hoped she'd find some sort of amusement in it. Enough, at least, to allow him room to breathe again.

[Kate]

Kate saw him slide to his knees, and was about to ask what he was doing. Because after all, Kate didn't say he could move, now did she? But she stopped the moment he started speaking, and soon enough she was swallowing the giggles. One hand clasped over her mouth, and those emerald eyes shut. Kate was fighting those giggles hard. She nodded, as that was all she was able to do.

Fighting those giggles so damned hard. The pale female leaned away from him, and her sides were hurting from how hard she was shaking. He really knew how to put the cherry on top didn't he. There was a large gasp of air and wiped tears from the corners of her eyes. She leaned back toward him, those emerald eyes brimming with life and joy. Because no one put a smile on her face like Adrian did. If only he knew.

She didn't say a thing, just leaned over and placed a sweet, light kiss on his cheek. There was something about her that was just... sweet in these moments. If only he knew what he did to her.

[Adrian]

Kate did her best to hold in the laughter, and Adrian grinned, pleased with himself and his performance. And just like that, Kate had snapped from Dominatrix to Girl Next Door. She let out a gasp and wiped tears from her eyes, she had been holding back laughing to hard, and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. He turned a little red, despite himself, and looked up at her, still smiling. In fact, he still held his posture the same way he had previously, kneeling with his hands clasped, only now there was a goofy smile on his face, and his cheeks were tinged with the slightest hint of rose.

He didn't know what to do or say at the moment; however, there were a few things he wanted to try out. Chief of which, of course, was ensuring his permission was given after all.

"Sooo... is that a 'yes'?" he asked, almost too brightly. Adrian was shocked at the sound of his own voice. Hard to try and act like the cool badass when you're talking like a giddy school-girl.

[Kate]

She didn't say anything, fingers reaching out to brush hair out of his eyes, and slip fingers along his cheek. Down to his chin, lightly. A soft, gentle touch. The blonde grinned, those eyes still dancing around.

"Of course it's a yes darling."

She took another sip of the cider and leaned back on the couch. The blonde really was enjoying their time together, even if it was limited. Until they had to go to the party, they were all alone. Well, alone except for her boys. They were well out of the way, invisible to the two of them. And they would stay that way, if they valued their lives.

[Adrian]

When Kate would set down the glass, Adrian would jump from his kneeling position into her lap, or rather an effect facsimile of being on her lap. His butt would land in the seat right next to her, and his legs would drape over her own.

Meanwhile, Adrian would grin wildly at his sudden action, laughing out loud as his own stupidity. He would lean back against the armrest, reaching out for his own glass of cider and taking another small drink.

"So, Mistress, have you any other plans for what to do with me before the party begins?"
