This was not a good day for Ryuu. Besides the fact that his alarm had gone off five minutes later than normal, he had been in a rush, and his friends had practically dragged him to school, he only had time to grab his shoulder bag before being carted off, and had left his wallet and cell at home. So Ryuu was not in a good mood right now, and anybody that ticked him off even slightly, well, it wasn't going to end well to sum it up. And to top it off, in the cafeteria, Ryuu had bumped into a guy, it was an accident obviously, but Ryuu guessed he had bumped into the guy hard enough that the contents of his tray spilled down the front of his shirt, and to top it all off, the guy had been carrying a bowl of spaghetti. Ryuu may have been in a bad mood, but he wasn't in such a foul mood that he would pick a fight with the guy. Instead, Ryuu had hauled his ass out of the cafeteria as calmly as he could, hoping the guy didn't hold a grudge against Ryuu for that.
Guess what? The guy didn't hold grudges, but he was sure as hell angry, and much to Ryuu's chagrin, the guy went tearing after Ryuu, who, as soon as he saw the guy chase after him, ran down the cafeteria stairs, and led the guy in a chase, or just until he lost the guy, which he did. Sure, the guy was angry, but he also had a terrible sense of direction. But Ryuu still wasn't so cocky that the guy wouldn't eventually catch up to him, and instead of slowing down, continued to run. He passed by students in the hallway, blurs passing by him as he reached the door leading to the rooftop. He grabbed the doorknob and twisted it, opening the door, and ran up the stairs, before emerging on the rooftop, where peace and quiet greeted him. He was all by himself. He walked across the rooftop, the gravel crunching under his shoes, as he sat down on the edge of the rooftop, staring up at the sky, as a cool gentle breeze began to blow, whipping his hair around.
Sun shining down on his face, turning his hair into a light shade, there were a few wispy clouds in the sky, up here, no one would bother him all that much. That, was pure poetry in itself. He then heard the door open again, and turned his head slightly, to look behind him.

"... ?"
James quickly closed the door, pressing his body against it to keep it shut, breathing heavily, "Uhh.... Hi."
~flashback~
James saw an angry man chasing someone down, only they must have lost who they were chasing. James shrugged it off and then went on his merry way until the guy crashed hard into James sending them both flying. James got up and the guy looked pissed for whatever reason, James quickly said, "Gee thanks big guy, maybe next time you could kick me in the head while you're at it."
Apparently the big guy was not in the mood, and he threw a punch at James. James ducked out of the way and the guy ended up punching another bigger guy. Who then turned on James instead of the guy who had punched him. James quickly started to run off but ran into another guy who dropped his bag on the foot of yet another guy!
"I hate my life."
James took off through the school for safety making his way to the roof, only with his constant slips and falls and tripping from being such a klutz, he didn't lose any of the four men. Or rather it was four men, It sounded like more as of right now.
~Back to now~
"I don't suppose you're going to attack me as well?" Loud bangs could be heard from outside the door as a group of men tried to make their way onto the roof.

Ryuu, a rather blank stare on his face, saw a guy come running onto the rooftop and quickly close the door, pressing his body against it to keep it shut, as he breathed heavily. "Uhh.... Hi." "... Hi." Ryuu replied after a rather long pause. "I don't suppose you're going to attack me as well?" Ryuu could hear loud bangs issuing from the other side of the door, as Ryuu stood up and began to walk away from the edge of the roof, towards the guy barricading the door. "What possible reason would I have to want to attack you," Ryuu stated calmly, as he looked a the guy with a calm expression on his face, "Those guys on the other side of the door on the other hand, if I assume correctly, they were chasing after you, and now want to beat your ass into the ground." Ryuu noticed the guy was wearing an eye patch, but that was the least of Ryuu's concern right now. All that banging on the door was disrupting his peace and quiet, and if he ever wanted to get it back, he would have to silence the banging.
"I don't know about you, but all this banging is starting to get annoying. I say we take the guys banging on the door out, so we can have a proper conversation later."
Ryuu got into his normal fighting stance, his feet spread apart shoulder-length, his left hand close to his chest, his right hand out, as he stood a bit away form the door. "On the count of three, be prepared to get as far from the door as possible. I'll take care of the guys that come through first, just make sure you're ready by then, alright? Ready? One... Two... Three!" Once the door was no longer barricaded, it crashed open, as Ryuu saw three guys come charging onto the rooftop, Ryuu immediately reacted, and launched a roundhouse kick at the first guy that charged at him, what luck, it was the guy that had been chasing after Ryuu earlier. Payback time. He then moved on to the next guy, who turned around just as Ryuu fired a quick right jab at him, as Ryuu felt the guy's nose break. While Ryuu was busy distracting the second guy, hopefully the other guy was ready by now, because Ryuu couldn't get to the other guy who charged at James in time.

James got out of the way of the door, and the first two guys ran towards the other kid. James let out a sigh of relief until he noticed one coming for him. The guy was charging him, and even James who wasn't exactly skilled with full on fighting, knew how to handle a charge. Charging at someone like that was a very idiotic thing to do, and when you are on a roof? Even more idiotic.
Though luckily for this guy James wouldn't hurt anybody too badly, so he wouldn't send him over the edge of the roof instead he would use his speed to charge at the guy as well, only at half speed. And then when they were just out of reach he went full speed and threw his right knee into the guys stomach, the guy lurched forward and James slammed his right forearm against the back of the guys head in a downward swinging motion. Sadly the guys skull was thicker then it looked and James forearm stung a little. But at the very least he had knocked the guy out and when he looked over to the other kid he too had taken care of his opponents.
Well.... I'd say that was a pretty good first win. Yup, a very very good first win. I'm proud of myself, I won my first fight today.... although I really wish I didn't have to fight.....
"James do good?" He asked in an almost caveman way as a joke. He had never really been in a fight like this before. He had fought, but usually he was losing. Mostly because he wasn't the greatest fan of fighting. He knew how to handle himself, but mostly he stayed out of the way.

As soon Ryuu gave the signal, he saw the guy get out of the way of the door as the three guys that were on the other side came charging through. Ryuu quickly dispatched the two that charged at him, and left the last one to James, who ran at his opponent and sent a knee at him, followed by a punch to the guy's skull, as Ryuu saw the guy fall like a sake of potatoes. "James do good?" "Not bad Captain James," Ryuu replied, a bit of a joke on Ryuu's part, partly because James was wearing an eye patch, and some pirates wear eye patches, "Not bad at all." Ryuu, while he did like to fight, only fought if it was absolutely necessary. He didn't like to fight for fun, nor would he ever pick a fight with someone just to cause a commotion.
"But I noticed, your depth perception regarding your left side, is quite lacking. If the guy had charged you from your left side, your weak side, he could've seriously injure you by striking your right side while you were pre-occupied protecting your weak side."
Ryuu folded his arms across his chest, and looked at James. "While I'm sure you have trained to compensate for that, you may run into trouble if someone takes advantage of that. If you want, we can have a friendly training spar here, to try and improve your perception on your left side, in case you come across opponents who exploit that." Ryuu held his hand out to James, in a friendly gesture. "And by the way, I'm Ryuu Hikari."

"I guess yeah, when I focus on hearing with my blind side sometimes I lose track of what I'm looking at with my right side. I just get a little distracted," He said, shaking the guys hand, "I'm James Everwood."
James looked at the unconscious bodies of the guys they just beat up. Seeing how the guy took down two people while James only managed to take down one, and he still felt it was lucky, "Uhh sure I guess," He said, "But if I start screaming in pain that means 'I give up' ok?"
He dragged the unconscious body of the guy he had hit out of the way, so that he wouldn't trip over him in a sparring match with this guy. He then got to a boxing position, left foot leading, bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet, "I guess I'm ready when you are."

"I guess yeah, when I focus on hearing with my blind side sometimes I lose track of what I'm looking at with my right side. I just get a little distracted," Ryuu heard the guy say, as he shook Ryuu's hand, "I'm James Everwood." Ryuu nodded his head in acknowledgment, as he saw James look over at the bodies of the guys who had been knocked out by the both of them, as Ryuu looked down at them, they weren't going to waking up for a long while, not after the blows Ryuu and James had inflicted on the three of them respectively. "Uhh sure I guess," Ryuu looked up and over at James, "Butif I start screaming in pain that means 'I give up' ok?" "Don't worry." Ryuu replied, as he unfolded his arms, letting them hang loosely by his side, as he rolled his shoulders, loosening them up for the spar.
"This is a friendly spar, I won't injure you, the most I would probably do is maybe knock you over."
Ryuu then saw James drag the body of the guy he had knocked unconscious out of the way, so that they both of them wouldn't go tripping over him in their spar. James then went into a boxing stance, his left foot leading, as he bounced back and forth on the balls of his feet. "I guess I'm ready when you are." "Alright then," Ryuu replied, " Are you ready?" he asked James, as he went into his fighting stance, his feet spread apart shoulder-length, his right foot out in front, his body down low, keeping his centre of balance relatively well. No leg sweeps here. He placed his right hand out, his left hand on level with his shoulder, near his face. " Let's go." he said to James, a determined look in his eyes. Ryuu would then start the spar, he immediately began to run straight at James, weaving to his right, then to his left, then as soon as he got close enough, back to his right, ending up on James' blind side.
He then launched a quick jab with his left hand, before pulling it back at the last minute, while that had happened, he launched a rapid jab with his right arm, just out of James' line of sight. This was to see how James would react to an attack that he could see, followed up by one he could not see.

James watched the guy weave in and out, getting ready. His left launched, and James right fist opened to stop the blow but it didn't hit. He quickly looked over and brought his left forearm up, stepping back with his left foot and pivoting his body backwards on his right foot. This put Ryuu completely in James' field of vision, and by the sheer fact of guesswork he managed to get jabbed on the forearm as opposed to wherever James had originally planned to attack.
James right hand would ball up into a fist, and he would extend it in a straight jab for Ryuu's nose. He would then lean back on that left foot and bring his right foot up, kicking the heal outward in an attempt to hit Ryuu and the stomach and send him backwards. If he was not grappled he would bring his arm in, his foot down, and lead completely with his right side. His strong side. This was how he did basic boxing, keeping this side towards his opponents. The only trouble was when it tired out, when it got injured badly, it became useless to him after a certain amount of time.
But just so long as he could keep it going long enough to disorient an opponent he would be alright.

The clacking of dress shoes would be heard ascending up the stairs leading to the rooftop... Tips from witnesses to the cafeteria incident led me here, after the kid who caused all the ruckus. I had no intention of doing anything physical... Pillars were peacekeepers, and from the knowledge I had gathered on the situation, this guy was just a victim.
Pfft... Don't get soft Damien... Don't let what you don't know affect you. Rely only on what you know to be fact.
Who the fuck are you coming on with this intellectual stuff Jester? Last I checked, your areas of interest were mind games, pain, and non-consentual sex...
Your point?
Shut up.
I reached the rooftop, my hands buried deep in the pockets of my black slacks. With a Black & Mild cigarillo in my lips, I would watch the two kids go at it... With a sigh and an exhale of smoke, I would pinch it between my pointer and middle fingers and take it from my lips for a moment.
"Alright you two, no fighting on school grounds. I'm having a pretty nice day, so can we skip the 'Rambo' part and go downstairs?" I would ask in a lazy tone, in no mood to be physical today. I just wanted to do my job as a peacekeeper and go the fuck home.

Ryuu saw James bring his right fist out to stop Ryuu's left fist, but that was only a feint, as Ryuu launched a right jab. He saw James quickly look over and bring his left forearm up, as James stepped back with his left foot and pivot his body backwards on his right foot, Ryuu was now in James line of sight, as Ryuu's jab collided with James' forearm. Not quite where Ryuu had been aiming for, but the jab would still hurt nonetheless. James right hand then balled up into a fist, and then extended it in a straight jab, aiming for Ryuu's nose. Instead of blocking however, Ryuu merely pivoted on his right foot, his left side moving backwards, as the jab sailed past Ryuu's face. Ryuu then saw James lean back on his left foot and bring his right foot up, kicking the heel outward in an attempt to hit Ryuu in the stomach and send him backwards. But Ryuu wouldn't let that happen.
Timing his body so that he moved with the direction of the kick, Ryuu would feel James' heel graze his stomach, as Ryuu's right hand shot out and took a hold of James' wrist, gripping it tightly, as he saw James attempt to bring his arm back, bringing his foot down, and completely lead with his right side, his strong side, but Ryuu wouldn't let that happen. He pulled on James' wrist, sending the guy flying forward, rearing his left fist backwards and sending a rapid punch at James' face, but he never managed to do so. "Alright you two, no fighting on school grounds. I'm having a pretty nice day, so can we skip the 'Rambo' part and go downstairs?" Ryuu's fist froze in mid-air, as Ryuu froze, and looked around, spotting a guy who was smoking, his hands in his black slacks, as Ryuu stayed in the position he had froze in for a few seconds, before releasing James' wrist, and straightened up, recognizing the guy who was smoking, as one of the new Pillars.
"You heard the Pillar, James 'ol chap, seems our fight has been come to an end."

James was pulled by the kid, and he suddenly lost his balance, "Whoa-OH!" He said struggling to hop on his left foot to keep his balance up. He then heard someone else talk.
"Alright you two, no fighting on school grounds. I'm having a pretty nice day, so can we skip the 'Rambo' part and go downstairs?"
Ryuu let go of James wrist and James fell hard against the ground, a pain traveling through his body as the familiar pain of a fall went through it. He let out a groan and looked up at the kid.
"You heard the Pillar, James 'ol chap, seems our fight has been come to an end."
"James do bad?" He asked the Pillar Ryuu spoke of, and got up slowly, "Well it was fun. Downstairs you said? After you I guess. If you want I could probably lug one of these guys with me...." That's right, James was being an obedient little monkey. Mostly because he was weak, and he could grasp the concept of stopping a fight. That was something he was kosher with. Though now the fight was a draw technically, just like the other fight he had been in. All his fights were draws... somehow he liked that. Almost as if the fight never took place to begin with.

They... Actually didn't do anything... That's amazing. Normally one of them would say 'you dont control me Pillar!' then I riverdance on their face. It was refreshing to see two students who obeying the simple laws of the school.
"Gentlemen, I congratulate you on acting like intelligent people. No detentions or anything like that. However, I myself am heading to the cafeteria for a bite to eat. Would either of you mind keeping a lonely lil' Pillar company?" I said, exhaling a breath of smoke.
You are quite possibly the strangest Pillar in the history of the System.
Meh, maybe I am, but who said strange was a bad thing?

"Whoa-OH!" Ryuu had pulled on James' wrist, sending him flying forward, as he had prepared to have his fist collide with James' face, but was stopped before he could do so, by none other than one of the new Pillars. Ryuu froze on the spot, before letting go of of James' wrist, as he saw James fall hard against the ground, letting out a groan from the fall. "Sorry." Ryuu apologized, as he then told James it seemed their fight had come to an end. "James do bad?" Ryuu shook his head slightly, as he saw him get up slowly. "Well it was fun. Downstairs you said? After you I guess. If you want I could probably lug one of these guys with me...." "Don't bother," Ryuu replied absentmindedly, "They'll wake up sooner or later and come down on their own." Ryuu felt there was no point in him resisting against the new Pillars of the school, they were the Pillars for a reason, and while Ryuu liked to fight for fun, he did not like to fight if there was no absolute reason.
"Gentlemen, I congratulate you on acting like intelligent people. No detentions or anything like that. However, I myself am heading to the cafeteria for a bite to eat. Would either of you mind keeping a lonely lil' Pillar company?"
"Sure thing boss," Ryuu replied casually, as he stepped over one of the unconscious guys and walked over to Damien, "I am feeling a bit hungry right now." Ryuu began to head towards the door, but then stopped, and looked back over at James. "You coming James?" he asked, as he nodded his head towards the door. Although their friendly spar had ended before it even started, Ryuu didn't mind. A fight was a fight, even if it was a short one. Though the outcome of this fight had ended up in a draw. And Ryuu was not stupid enough to fight a Pillar just because their fight had been interrupted. That would be irrational, and downright idiotic. And Ryuu was neither, though he could be brash and headstrong sometimes.

Well, I got to admit. I think I like this Ryuu guy. He seemed right on the same page with me about this whole 'listen to the pillar' business. No reason to just ignore the guy or fight him. It'd be somewhat stupid and immature. Wait... I am stupid and immature... but I'm not a stupid and immature fighter... thaaat's the difference alright. I wonder if Sam is in the lunch area... or Sara.... or Emily... or Kate..... Sam's the coolest so far though.
He hadn't replied to Ryuu in a pretty good moment by now, so he looked up confused about what was going on, but started to follow Ryuu, "Yeah sure." He said, unaware as to what he just said yes to exactly, but decided he would just shut up and follow the other two wherever they were going (he already forgot). He wouldn't take any of the unconscious bodies with him since Ryuu himself hadn't bothered with the two he had been responsible for.
"So," He would say as they undoubtedly headed off towards their destination, "Where we going again?"
Yeah, he would probably get made fun of for that one.
Ahhh Sam.....
That fantasy of her taking the bun out of her hair and shaking it in slow motion took over his mind, he was probably going to trip down if he kept thinking about it.

"The cafeteria." I said with a raised eyebrow. "Not much a memory in you, huh?" I smiled, letting a small laugh out. "Not to worry, we're almost there. You look as if you've been daydreaming... Nothing spicy I hope... I'd hate to be come another man's fantasy, cause I don't swing that way darlin.'"
Oh, this was fun... I haven't gotten to nicely pick on anyone in a while. Feels good to get back to my roots.
With the cafeteria in sight, I took out my wallet, making sure I had enough cash for a coffee- which I did. Thank God... I need a coffee sooo fucking bad.
