>_> Okay, aside from the items (which I still need to work on), and the job format (which is also a work in progress...), yo: Some in the staff are noticing that some people are in just one-on-one RP fights. Everyone else just spectates. >_> Srsly, where is the Student Hierarchy intervening? Anyways... Just a random idea I'm thinking up, but the idea is, every now and then, a moderator can intervene with a low-level NPC, with given statistics and whatnot. Maybe an item or something latched onto him. The set-up for this idea would mean that for that intervening mod playing this low-level NPC will yield EXP upon defeat only. And if he/she has an item... possibly there might be a item drop. No, the same NPC can't be used repeatedly and grow. Goal: - Bring in more variety, aside from the typical PC faces.
- Will hopefully force you guys to fight with each other more often.
Known Flaws: - ...You'd have to trust the staff to make good judgement as to where to intervene and where not to.
- Plausibility that one person may become overpowered if they encounter far too many NPC battles or summat (a solution of which, defeating the NPC won't yield any EXP).
- More (voluntary) work for the mods! Yay!...
No, I haven't run this idea by my fellow mods, yes, you can all bag on it, it just sorta randomly occurred to me... Yes, its open for tweaking. Anyways, whaddya think?

Make sure you put this in the staff board, with it's details Mike. I want to thoroughly look over this. O=

Well, in the open threads, for certain. Closed-wise... We'll have to check as a team. Mm... I'll get my head together this Sunday.

This is a *lot* of work to shoulder on the staff. In order to provide enough NPC presence to be fairly available to all players for an even possibility of gain, you'd essentially have to be present in many many threads at once.
If you don't make it very widespread and available to all players, then the patchiness of NPC support will unbalance the playing field.
So in otherwords, all or none is the way to go here.

I had a really long post typed up last night, but lost it in some weird freak accident.
Anyway, I'll summarize it: I think pillars should be able to jailbreak into any threads, open or closed, on the caveat that these threads are taking place in areas someone would easily be able to be at.
A hidden little copse off to the outskirts of the courtyard? Maybe not so easy to just wander into.
The fountain in the middle of the courtyard? No reason to NOT be able to break in.
So, my feeling on this is a definite yes.

I'm going to say No. If its a closed thread, it means just to those who were invited. Meaning, others who show up are literally ruining the fun of others.

I'd say no to both..
If it's closed, it's closed for a reason.
As for gaining exp by fighting npcs.. Why? There are plenty of players to fight.

>_> Srsly, where is the Student Hierarchy intervening? we are allowed to ignore OOC requests for closed and no interference? Didn't know I will make sure to start jumping in closed threads then. Forget a "low-level NPC" that's sure to get taken out. That's too complicated. Just give the Pillarship access to character specified or potentially even closed threads if it's located in a public area. Obviously there can be exceptions - plot events, particular circumstances, isolated events - but in threads where one-on-one fights are specifically occurring in openly public events, they can't expect the Pillar to just stand and watch, especially if they're causing collateral damage. If you want to have fun with a one-on-one fight, PM the Pillars and tell them before hand or something, but I think they should be given special access.
