Ryuu sat at the back of the unused music room 3 in the north hallway. Up until now, Ryuu hadn't been disturbed as he played by himself, no one, not even a single student, had come into the music room. Ryuu had slipped into the music room, his guitar case with his guitar inside slung over his shoulder, to try and get some practicing done. He walked to the very back of the room and placed his guitar case down on the floor beside him, and opened it, pulling out his Fender Highway 1 Telecaster, and slung the guitar strap over his shoulder, before pulling up a chair and rested his feet on the third row of the 4 rows of bleachers used by the choir. It was nice, being able to play peacefully, without anyone interrupting him. Leaning back in his chair, feeling comfortable, Ryuu had been playing "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's to warm up, get his fingers used to playing. Ryuu had taken off his black jacket, leaving him only in a black t-shirt, loose black track pants, and black Converse shoes. Adjusting the position of the guitar, he began to play a song by 3 Doors Down that he had heard before. Playing the guitar part that was prominent throughout the entire song, his fingers sliding up and down the strings as he played, the room filled with the sound of the song by the band. The song was moving along smoothly and nicely, as Ryuu sang the lyrics of the song while he played, the sounds of the missing instruments flow through his head, completing the song. His head moving slightly as he sang and played, his eyes were closed, as his fingers raced over the strings. Once Ryuu had finished, he opened his eyes, letting the last few notes resonate. He loved every minute of playing, he had assembled a band at one point, but most of them had left right after a little while, and he only knew a few people that could play instruments, but he hadn't talked to them lately. This time was different however. Ryuu pulled out his iPhone, and scrolled down, before reaching Nick's name, and sent him a text message. The message said: Nick,
Third music room in the north hallway.
- RyuuThe message sent, Ryuu waited. He hadn't give up on the idea though. There was always a small chance it could, but first, he'd need to find the people that could make up the band, a singer, and a bassist. And hopefully, they wouldn't bail on him like the last time he did this.

Nick leaned to the side of the doorway with his arms crossed. Ryuu seemed not to have noticed him there. He smirked and spoke as Ryuu was still entranced in his playing.
"Away From the Sun by 3 Doors Down? Good choice."
Once Ryuu looked up and noticed him he would enter the room. He received the text that the Asian had sent him, and he had just been down the hall in the classical room. He threw his stuff in the corner next to the drum kit that was set up in there, including his hoodie and headphones.
"So. What's this all about?" he asked in his British accent.

"Away From the Sun by 3 Doors Down? Good choice." Ryuu looked up and over to the doorway, and saw Nick leaning against the side of the doorway with his arms crossed, a smirk on his face as he entered into the room. "Hey, it's a good song." Ryuu retorted, as he saw Nick throw his stuff into the corner next to the drum set that was set up, including his hoodie and headphones. "So. What's this all about?" "What else?" Ryuu replied, his feet still resting on the bleacher, "Trying to make a band again, our last one was... Less than successful. Hopefully this time, we get people who don't bail on us." Ryuu sighed, he was still hopeful, and didn't plan on giving up just yet.
"We need a damn reliable bassist and lead singer, or we'll never get anywhere."
And sadly, Ryuu knew that to be true. "You know anybody who can play bass or sing?" Ryuu asked, as he gently strummed his guitar, playing no particular song. He racked his brain, thinking of anyone he knew who sang, but came up empty. "My brain came up with squat, you know anyone who sings?" He asked Nick, sighing sadly, as he loosely held his Telecaster in his arms, resting it against his legs.

"Um, I know two bass players. Kate McHallin and that blind girl, Thirteen, you know her?"
As he said this, he walked over to where he threw his stuff and opened his pack, taking out his drumsticks. He then walked over to the the drum kit and sat down at the seat, tightly tapping on all the drums and hardware, getting comfortable in the drum stool and finding the right position.
"Now singers are a different story. Those are hard to come by. Especially good ones."
Nick started playing simple beat once he had gotten comfortable to warm up.

Break walked down the lonely corridors on the far sides of the school, he wanted to be alone and have a smoke for once in peace. He pulled the cigarette he traditionally wore behind his ear and put it to his lips, he pulled out his lighter, his mind raced for the first inhale and the nicotine to rush over him. He knew it was bad, he didn't mind though. Just like his old voice teacher said "smoking makes your range better, gives you a lot of lower notes". Before he flicked the golden flame on he heard something coming from one of the rooms. Slowly his arms dropped. someone playing away from the sun... and actually doing it some justice. There was a surprise. He put the unlit cigarette back into the pocket of his pea coat, self conciously adjusted his faux hawk making sure he looked good and walked toward the door.
He opened it slowly just as a kid started laying out a drum beat. Solid, Victor liked solid drummers. He quickly scanned the room with his deep blue eyes, the kid with the guitar was leaning on some choir bleachers, a telecaster around his neck. "I like your tele" Break said nonchalantly, his rich voice just audible over the drums. He knew he'd be heard. Suddenly he wished he'd brough his own guitar to school to jam with these guys. "you guys mind if I jam with you?" he asked, continuing into the room, his wide shoulders and friendly smile at the forefront as always. he put one hand in his pocket, fingering the cigarette inside, he wasn't gonna do something rude like smoke in front of them, he just wanted something to do with his hands.
"I don't have any instruments though... cept my voice... so I guess I'm here more to listen and sing along" he said with a chuckle and a funny hand motion. his eyes rolling with a goofy grin.

"Um, I know two bass players. Kate McHallin and that blind girl, Thirteen, you know her?" "Yeah, I know Thirteen, had a spar with her before." Ryuu replied, as he saw Nick walk over to where he had thrown his stuff and opened his bag, pulling his familiar drumsticks. He then walked over to the drum set, sat down at the seat and began to lightly tap on all the drums and hardware. "Now singers are a different story. Those are hard to come by. Especially good ones." "I know what you mean," Ryuu replied, agreeing, "I can sing, but I'm more comfortable with being a backup singer than a lead singer." He then heard Nick start to play a simple beat once he had gotten comfortable to warm up, as Ryuu began to gently strum his Telecaster in tune with him. "I like your Tele." Ryuu heard a rich voice say, just audible over the drum beat, as he looked up and over at the doorway, and saw a guy with a faux hawk walk in. "Thanks, I like your... faux hawk?" Ryuu replied, slightly uncertain.
"You guys mind if I jam with you?" The guy asked, as he continued walking into the room, as the guy placed one hand in his pocket. "I don't have any instruments though... 'cept my voice... so I guess I'm here more to listen and sing along." "Hey, no worries, hold on, I think they should have it somewhere..." Ryuu replied, as he lifted his feet off the bleachers, and placed his Telecaster down gently in his open guitar case, before searching around the room, and checked in the closet in the room, before finding what he was looking for. "... Found it." Ryuu pulled out a Fender Precision Bass, and walked to the guy. "If you can play bass, here, have a go at it, if not, singing is fine too," Ryuu said, "Though we could really use a reliable bassist, I think we've run through more bassists than anything else." Ryuu then went back to his chair, picked up his Telecaster and slung it back over his shoulder, and rested his feet once more on the bleachers. "If you have any song you want to play, just say the word, and we'll play."

"Thanks, I like your... faux hawk?" the kid asked complimented. Break smiled, san francisco was not used to his southern californian hair style, just the way he liked it. as ryuu considered the request to jam Break put down his binder and took a seat on a nearby stack amp. "hey no worries, hold on, I think they should have it here somewhere" the guy got up looking around. Victor sat still, his deep blue eyes curious as to what he was reaching for. He pulled out a Bass, a fender. "If you can play bass, here, have a go at it, if not singing is fine too" the man said, "though we could really use a reliable bassist, I think we've run through more bassists than anything else" the man said walking back to his chair and picking his guitar back up and leaning against the bleachers again. "if you have any song you want to play, just say the word, and we'll play" he said. Break picked up the bass and put it on. He was never trained with a bass, but he was naturally musical so he picked out a short bass groove. He tried slapping, it worked a couple times but it was very hit or miss. "Bass isn't my thing, I'm more of a rythym guitarist... and a singer..." he said, taking the bass off and setting it down gently against the amp he was sitting on. "you guys know any 'say anything'? I'd love to sing 'alive with the glory of love' right now." he mentioned. his voice grew stronger as he got more comfortable with these people, it was clear he would make a presence on a stage as his friendly smile flashed up. "if not I'm totally open for suggestions" (Ooc: Alive with the glory of love: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfptieWXEJA)

"You want to trade then dear?"
Thirteen was beaming from the doorway, somebody had said they needed a bassist, and now, as if by magic, she was here with her six-string, ready to groove. Mostly. She had to curse her small body...she couldn't carry much. Her bag and bass was already on her back. Any more, and she might tip right over. Thirteen tipping was bad. And to anyone that might attempt it...they had a blade coming to their head.
However, did have a guitar on her, and while it wasn't of the quality of her bass, the worn guitar was more than enough to satisfy any band member. She walked, and made sure not to run into anything as her short self hopped right on up.
"Okay, I can hear Ryuu and Nick...but I'm not familiar with the other one...who might that be?"
She asked that as she pulled out her maple wooden Schecter Studio 6. It almost looked like a tree. It was all wood, no plastics, no stickers. It was all natural. Just how she liked it. Sure, she was intruding, but then again...hell. Why not? xD

The girl had been wandering through the halls aimlessly until she heard the music. It was 3 Doors Down. She'd forgotten the way of the song, but she remembered the lyrics. They'd been her favorite part of the song. Whoever was playing the guitar chords to the song had finished and even though the last beautiful note had faded, she kept walking towards the room from which the music had come. The third room, probably, she mused.
Without thinking she began to sing the words to the song she had just heard a cappella. Her voice is sweet and husky, a little rough but not unpleasantly so. It's like honey on the comb on a warm summer's day. The style she's picked for now is jazzy but with just enough mellow rock in it for the song.
It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense Can anyone do what I've done I missed life I missed the colours of the world Can anyone go where I am.....
She's no Effie a la Dream Girls but her voice is still quite beguiling. Her green eyes with their long lashes are half closed as she remembers the notes played by the unseen musician, using them to guide her, and stopped in the doorway. At the sound of another voice, she quit singing and looked at the group assembled. She was wearing her usual loose fitting cargo pants, low slung over her curvy hips, worn Chuck Taylors. A white wife beater so worn it was almost opaque over a lime green bra and two necklaces: one the usual silver chain with a white gold ring dangling from it and a hemp choker, one stud earring and two cartilage hoops. Her wild head of dark chocolate dreadlocks was pulled back with the usual leather headband adorned with purple strips of material. Nothing impressive, nothing even classy. But she somehow still managed to look cute in an almost hippie grunge sort of way as she leaned against the doorframe.
Three young men stood in the room. Nick, whom she recognized immediately, and a slim asian guy wearing jeans and converse who was holding a Telecaster. The third had arrived just before her and had a faux hawk. How very SoCal, she thought with a little smile. He was singing something she recognized but couldn’t remember the name of for the life of her, and she wasn’t sure which surprised her more: the fact that she couldn’t recall the artist or the song, or the fact that a guy was confident with singing. Now that was rare.
She turned her head to look at the girl who had entered before her, carrying the beautifully crafted bass. Now that was an instrument to be admired.
”Sounding good everyone; there’s a lot of talent in this room. Mind if I join?”
Tash wiggled her fingers in a little wave to Nick. They’d met and she’d been wondering when they’d run into each other again. He was the first person who’d talked to her at this school and besides that fact, she liked him anyway. He was charming, even if he was a hopeless flirt.

a couple ladies walked into the room. The first had a cutesy affect to her, petit and a little humorous how her gear was keeping her offbalance. The second was a bit... sexier... in that dirty 'do me against a wall hard' kind of way. she reminded him of someone he once hooked up with at a rave. He decided he wasn't going to mention that after he confirmed that this indeed was a different girl.
He didn't stop singing as he made this observation of course
Hell no noooo, Oh No! I won't let them take you... won't let them take you... hell no no!
he finished with a lot of excitement, no matter how high his voice went it never seemed strained though, he had done a lot of little riffs throughout the song, but it was easy to tell he wasn't doing it to show off, but more because it was fun. easy to tell that he just enjoyed singing.
He sat back in his chair, resting into it he took off his pea coat and draped it over the back. "Hey more recruits, this is turning into quite a rock fest" he said, his beautiful voice carried. he looked between the two of them. somewhere over his singing they had made their introducitions, he felt bad having sung over them. "sorry about that... I just get into it and then... well I'm passionate about music is the easiest way to say it." he said with a laugh. Then he looked around and realized he didn't really know anyone here.
"I'm sorry I just realized how much of a stranger I am... I'm Victor by the way, call me "Break" if you want, but either works fine" he said with a laugh. He spent no extra attention on any singular person, he was good at shifting his focus so everyone felt included. "now... I'm a bit on the... not knowing many people side, so may I get some introductions?" he asked with a chuckle.

And now came the musicians, all coming for an attempt to make a band. The hard part would be choosing the good from the bad, the real musicians from the posers. Nick stopped his beat once Thirteen came in and spoke, and saw that he had been to engulfed in keeping a perfect rhythm that another guy had come in as well and had started talking to Ryuu. And then what really made him smile is when Tash entered the room. She waved to him and he waved back shyly. Why Nick had such a thing for her, he would never understand, but this would definitely be an interesting session. Then the kid he didn't know spoke up and introduced himself and asked for everyone's names.
"I'm Nick." he said simply.

She shrugs and smiles a bit, her mass of dreads bouncing. It's okay that he kept singing. His voice is good, so it's not like it's grating: it's a pleasure to listen to. In fact, she chimes in softly with a harmony a third above on the last two lines.
"I won't let them take you... hell no no..."
It blends pretty well and she nods, satisfied. Setting her bag down on the floor, she picks a seat by Nick, seeing as he's the only person she knows. Not that it's an unpleasant option either. Her gaze drifts across the rest of the room as she plays with her only constant necklace: the ring on the chain. She recognizes most of the people, but doesn't know their names yet. She's been at Moral Crest just long enough to start knowing when she sees repeat faces, but that's about it.
"That makes two of us who are new here. I'm Tash - short for Natasha."

Victor nodded at Nick, commiting the name and the face together along with "drummer" for some reason. Then he looked at tasha as she spoke. "Pretty name" he said "and that was a good harmony, I like your style, thirds are always more complimentary than fifths in my opinion" he complimented, "sorry to interrupt but I used to know this guy... and he'd always try to harmonize in fifths and it drove me nuts, like he was a good singer and stuff but... he didn't blend well and it was just messy... now if someone can pull off a seventh thats nice..." he laughed, then looked at the others with enthusiasm, his deep blue eyes shone, he wanted to create an open atmosphere for everyone to feel comfortable. He had been in one band before, and if that was the idea here he wanted everyone to mesh well.

Apparently Tash only knew him as she chose a seat closest to him and only acknowledged him when entering, so he smiled at her while the new guy was talking.
"...now if someone can pull off a seventh that's nice..."[/i]
Nick laughed hard at the Break's joke. Hopefully he wasn't the only one to get it since he wasn't the only other musician in the room, but many years of music theory made the humor that much more suddenly hilarious to him.
"So what does everyone play? I know Ryuu plays guitar and I know Thirteen plays bass and synth, but what about you two?" he motioned at Break and Tash.

Mmm, music speak. How fun.
"I'm Aurora...or Thirteen, whichever you so choose. It's good to meet you both!"
Aurora managed to get all over her equipment down and pull out her bass. Now the issue was looking for an amp...tap tap...and there it was in the back. Along with a stool, both of which Aurora dragged out onto the stage. Immediately she plugged in the amp, her bass, and sat upon her stool, chuckling ever so lightly at the joke that had just been put out.
"Victor you sound great!"
Thirteen plucked a couple of strings. Out of tune by maybe a twinge less than a half step...just a few microtonals maybe. She tightened each string, plucked...anddd...perfect! A small smile appeared on Thirteen's face. This might be fun, or if they kicked her out, not so much fun.
