This thread is open to anyone who is a victim or otherwise. Participation in this thread will be participation in the quest. Sin is not disguised as Layla Clavering on this thread.
There was an assembly called in by the teachers, the question why rang across the student's heads as some flocked to the front of the school administration building. There had been shootings the past few days, and already 10 had been shot down. Most of them had recovered; all but one student who took two bullets - one for herself, and one she took for another.
The memory was fresh on some of the student's minds, and it had made the news. Sin was very amused at how things were going. It was as if everything was moving as swiftly as she had planned. The boss would be every happy, to know that - but Sin had to be sure.
Sin was a rather young woman. Beautiful, smart, slightly short but she had a lot of smarts. Not a lot of people knew just how manipulative she could be, and from the looks of it, not a lot of these students knew Dr. Clavering very well, which worked in her favor.
Might as well let these students know whom they should trust.
She sat by the chair by the flagpole, holding a megaphone.
She had sworn to rid of Dr. Layla Clavering, and she planned to rid of her the worst way possible.
Let's see how this goes.

Ryuu stood at the front of the crowd, in the inner circle, his arms folded across his chest. After being told that the teachers had called for an assembly, he made his way to the front of the school administration building, the memories of the shootings that had occurred in the past few days still very much fresh in his mind, though only one of the shootings concerned him, the one involving the girl he loved, Emily, who was still in the hospital. He had visited her everyday, sitting by her bedside until the nurses were forced to boot him out of the hospital because visiting hours were over, but he was always back the very next day, always at the same time. His eyes were focused on the young woman sitting in the chair located beside the flagpole, a megaphone in her hand.
She reminded Ryuu of Dr. Clavering, though he had a bad feeling about her, her aura seemed somewhat more, what was the word? Sinister. Although he didn't know Dr. Clavering as well as Emily or Trizen, the aura he garnered from her was happy, almost giddy-like, but also calming, almost somber as well. This young woman, placed Ryuu on guard, as he furrowed his brows slightly. Just what was going on here? Why were students being targeted and shot at? And what was the purpose of this assembly? He would find out soon enough, and it wasn't going to be pretty, that's for sure...

Tash hadn't been around school much the past three weeks. Not that it mattered much to her: she'd attended a private school before coming to Moral Crest so she was a semester ahead of the classes she was placed in and falling behind was not an issue. She also didn't give a rat's ass if the teachers here hated her or not. High school was kind of a formality in her situation. Albeit, it was one she was totally okay with going through, but it was a formality just the same.
From the sound of it, it was probably a good thing she hadn't been around much. The more she hung around the more she heard about these shootings that had been going on. She didn't know much about it, let alone who the victims even were, but that didn't mean it wasn't scary. First the student bout with Purple, then Orange's rampage, now this. Tash wasn't sure what to make of it, but she was sure as hell glad she pretty much only had one year left in this place.
Libertà dolce! La bella Italia!
Today there had been an assembly called and as Tash joined the gathering crowd, she spotted a familiar face. Making her way through the jostling throng to where Ryuu stood, she noticed that the young man's face was tense. His disquiet was enough to worry her.
"Hey Ryuu," She asked quietly. "What's up with all this? I've been...sick for a while and since I got back all I hear about are the shootings."

David took a deep breath, the final one he would get of fresh air, before tugging open the doors to the crowded assembly hall. People were everywhere, and David couldnt really make heads or tails of anyone he may know. A few people approached him and shook his hand- friends from another time- but other than that nobody of special interest caught his eye. Not to say they werent in there, but that there were far too many people for him to spot them. Rather than continue standing in front of the doors searching, he made his way through the crowd, gently brushing and squeezing past the clammering individuals known as the Student Body. He looked around himself, keeping his hood up to make sure he remained unnoticed.
He didnt really want to attract attention, and luckily for him several other students had thier hoods up. He was glad to begin- the shootings inside ths school were giving him serious cause to worry, almost as much as Gabriel did. He put his hands in his sweater pockets and turned his eyes toward the stage, ready and tense for anyone that may come to the stage.
'Who called this meeting anyway?' He frowned.
'I'll need to remain on my toes...something just doesnt feel right about this.'

Nick lugged himself to the place where the assembly was taking place, as he didn't know what was going on and didn't really want to get involved, as he hadn't heard of the shootings. He made his way to the area near the flagpole and saw that the student were beginning to collect. He made his way to the front, so he could get a better view. Nick might as well be entertained if he was to be pulled away from what he was doing for this.
Once done getting through the crowd, he came out in the front, looking to see a woman with a megaphone, whom he had never seen before. Now looking to his left, he saw two people he recognized; Ryuu and Tash, who were both in the band with him. He made his way over just to hear Tash asking Ryuu a question.
"What's up with all this? I've been...sick for a while and since I got back all I hear about are the shootings."[/b]
"I'd like to know the same if you have any information about it. I'd rather hear it from a student than a teacher..."

The gathering. Here it was where people begin to just gather aboutst after some announcement. Break was calmly walking, his smooth steps barely even making sound as he approached the flagpole. Instantly he saw the majority of the band there. wow, maybe they could get together and practice right after this. for a moment break considered that he and ryuu had fought recently, but put it aside. Ryuu wouldn't just attack him in front of the rest of the band, though he did prepare himself for questions.
He caught the tail end of Nick's question as he walked up, holding his hand out for a greeting shake. "I think if anyone knew anything solid that we wouldn't be having a school assembly for it" Break observed and then added "how's emily?" to ryuu, with a sympathetic nod, remembering only so little ago how she was shot by the same person who (break assumed) everyone was here to catch.

"Tash." Ryuu replied calmly, giving his fellow band mate a nod of acknowledgment, before turning back to face the front. "The details are sketchy, and honestly, I don't--" "I'd like to know the same if you have any information about it. I'd rather hear it from a student than a teacher..." "-- know very much, but I can tell you, 10 students have already be targeted, and all but one has--" "I think if anyone knew anything solid that we wouldn't be having a school assembly for it." "-- recovered. She's fine Victor," Ryuu finally finished, shaking Victor's hand, after being interrupted not once, but twice by Nick and Victor respectively, "Still unconscious though. I've been visiting her everyday, only leaving when the nurses were forced to boot my ass out at the last second."
Ryuu gave Victor a small smile, showing his thanks for the sympathetic nod, as he turned back facing the front once more. "What I know, is what I read in the newspapers. Someone is targeting the students, though a pattern has not been set yet, so who the next target is, your guess is as good as mine." Ryuu had a troubled look on his face, as evident by his brows furrowing. Something didn't feel right, like something was going to happen. The hit on Emily, the girl he loved and cared deeply for, was the first, but it sure as hell wasn't going to be the last. If it took everything he had, Ryuu would find and make the person who hurt Emily pay dearly. He was determined to succeed. Failure was not an option.

Adrian sat a few rows back from Ryuu and the gang, listening but not commenting. In truth, Adrian didn't want to much talk to anyone at the moment. He felt confused, alone, and not to mention, just a bit wounded.
You see, Adrian had been one of the students shot on campus prior.
It had only been a few days before, and it was all so sudden - so random - that Adrian could barely recall it as anything but a passing dream. He was walking back to his locker from gym class, one of the few times of the day where he didn't wear his Earth Dragon coat. He had left it in his locker before heading to gym, and was on his way back, crossing the courtyard from the gymnasium, when it happened. Adrian hadn't even seen the gunman, the shot was fired from under the shade of a tree some distance away. Adrian saw the flash and heard the crack, and instinctively threw himself to the ground, but he wasn't nearly fast enough. The bullet entered his midsection and went cleanly in and out. Thankfully, the place was just crowded enough that someone came to his aid, and the ambulance came swiftly.
Adrian was more than lucky: The bullet had gone straight through, a clean strike, and had missed most of his internal organs. His liver had been nicked, but three doctors on separate occasions told him that the damage was so minor that it could heal himself, and to simply drink a lot of water and refrain from any alcoholic beverages for the next few months, at least until he could get x-rays to make sure it had healed. Adrian would have smirked: he didn't drink before, and while he certainly felt he had a few good reasons too, now, he wasn't planning on starting.
So, here he was, wearing his Earth Dragon coat over a black half-buttoned shirt, a bit of the tape wrapped firmly around his entire lower torso visible to the naked eye if one looked long enough.
Feeling rather vulnerable and ashamed for being a victim as he was, Adrian, as mentioned before, was by no means interested in talking to anyone. He was here to find out what this woman wanted, and, if it had anything to do with the shootings, what he could do to get his hands on the fucker that did this to him.
((OOC NOTE: Adrian is recovering from a gunshot wound. For the duration of this quest, including all new threads I may undertake, consider all of Adrian's stats to be decreased 10%.))

Post by I. Sin, M.D. on May 25, 2009 5:26:05 GMT -5
Sin opened her eyes, scanning the crowd of teenagers that were before her. If anything, she was amazed at how many students had come. Though, to be honest - only a few were significant.
After standing up, the woman jumped up into the base of the flagpole and looked around. There were a few familiars here, and most of the guys who tried chasing her down a week ago were still here. Heh, these boys had absolutely no idea that the bitch who shot their girlfriend was right under their noses. Sin chuckled inwardly and just sighed, holding the Microphone to her mouth. "A pleasant day, Young Ladies and Gents. I'll cut to the chase." She said, placing her free hand by her hips. "My name is Amelia Sin. Call me Amy, or Sin. Whatever- I like Sin better."
She shrugged, "A lot has happened to your school lately; ten of your schoolmates have been shot by a mysterious sniper - one of which is, I heard to be in the hospital in critical condition. Now, I know some of you may be panicking at this bit of news, but the school board was thinking on closing down the school because of it." Sin gave her hair a flick, almost showing it off. She wasn't overly pretty, but it was obvious she had quite a mind of her own -- well, not really.
Actually, she looked just about average.
"However, Public high school #46 and Sacramento East High has closed down because of their own shootouts, and we can't afford to shut down another school - so they made me the head honcho here, for the meantime, to catch whoever that bitch is that shot your friends."
Sin gave a friendly smile to the children, or at least she tried to. She had never exactly been very social. "Now, I'm no Mr. Orange, or Mr. Purple - but I believe I'll be way better than those two freaks."
On the contrary, she didn't even know them. All she was saying were bits and pieces of truth turned into manipulative lies. It would be soon enough when these students would see a demonstration, but not like they knew it was her right?
Now, if only that little minion of hers could do that job she made her do.
"I will expect your full cooperation on this, fellas!" She told them, sounding confident. "Any questions?"
What a liar.
But this was her turf now. What, with Layla gone she was now the School Doctor AND the Prinicpal.
Layla had been gone a long, LONG time - ain't that suspicious?

Pine had been standing around out of sight and out of mind. He had heard about the shootings but since no one important to the teen was hurt he could care less. That did not mean that at anytime the shootings couldn't start up again. Since none of the students shot were known to Pine there was no way he could put any form of a puzzle together and start figuring out what could have happened. Instead Pine just stood there and watched the whole scene take place.
The woman, this Miss Sin was an interesting character. It was a wonder how someone looking like her got the job. Orange and Purple at the very least seemed dangerous and intimidating. Then again it could just be because this Sin was a woman he was overlooking something important. This caused Pine to think more and more about this whole situation.
It was mentioned that two other schools were shut down because of similar incidents. It seemed Pine was wrong with his assumption that Moral High was the worst school around. Clearly he made a bias error. It was also mentioned that the suspect was female. That made sense, some of the best killers in history and fiction were woman. Who would suspect the girl making out with you would suddenly put two in your chest and one in your head. Yet these targets were school students not real marks. It also stood to reason why anyone would want to hit 10 students. Something with this whole situation seemed off.
When the woman asked if there were any questions, Pine had to think. There were so many questions he wanted to ask but wasn't sure if he could get answers for most of them. So Pine began to think of what could be easily answered based on the information given. Or even better information that was not given.
"I have a question!" Pine spoke out loudly and waited until he was sure this Miss Sin was paying attention. "You're here to catch the shooter correct? As nice as that sounds...How exactly do you plan on doing that? You may claim to be better than your predecessors but that remains to be seen. So what exactly is it you require our full cooperation with? What do you plan on taking away from us?"

Ryuu's gaze was focused on the young woman, or Ms. Amelia Sin as she introduced herself as, as she began to speak, starting off with telling them about the shootings, something that Ryuu already knew, having witnessed the first of the shootings. He folded his arms as Sin flicked her hair after telling them the school board was considering closing the school down, surprise surprise. The school board strikes again. She then told them two schools, Public High School #46 and Sacramento East High was closed down because of the shootings, but because they couldn't afford to close another school down, they decided to make Sin the principal of their school. That wasn't what caught Ryuu's attention however. His eyes flashed in surprise at the mentioning of the shooter, but not only that, the shooter was female. Ryuu had chased after the shooter along with David, Victor, and Trizen, but hadn't be able to catch up to the shooter.
It wasn't just surprising, it was suspicious. How on earth did she know the shooter was female? The school board may be powerful, but it can't be so powerful that they know the suspect was female immediately after the week that the shootings started... right? The rest of what she said was lost to Ryuu, as his mind immediately thought about Emily, who was still unconscious in the hospital, though he did catch the names Mr. Orange and Purple, and that she would be better than the two of them. She then asked if there were any questions, as a student somewhere behind Ryuu asked that she was here to catch the shooter, and if so, how did she plan on going about to do it, what exactly what was it she required their full cooperation with, and what did she plan on taking away from them, as Ryuu's eyes narrowed not in fury, but in concentration. "I don't trust her," Ryuu muttered softly, only Tash, Nick, and Victor would be able to hear him, "Something about her puts me on guard. I don't know what it is, but I have a bad feeling about all this..."

She spoke and victor shuddered, what an unpleasent voice, not that it was actually unpleasent, but to victor's musically toned ear, something about it seemed wrong. blah blah blah, school jargon, school board, I am the best ever, etc. etc. A cool wind blew and it was only going to get colder around here, none of this was helping. great, now someones asking questions... way to play along to the tune of the pipe, eh?
Victor cared a surprising amount about this whole thing. He wasn't very close to emily, but that wasn't what bothered him. It was the loss of human life, which victor had a great regard to, incredible respect of, and wanted anyone with enough audacity to rip someone of it to be ripped of it themselves. Sure, break loved violence, and fighting, but killing someone wasn't in the name of good fun like fighting could be, war was different than a boxing match.
Ryuu was clearly on the same page as victor, though for different reasons, as he also wasn't paying attention to the boy asking questions, telling about how little trust he had in the new board trustee. Break thought about it for a moment, other than the voice nothing about her seemed too off, that and she was egocentric and this school had a tendancy to pick shitty school officials... maybe there was good reason to not trust her... "we'll see, there are some things that seem off, I think at very least we're better off solving this mystery without her help" he said, his rich voice also low enough for only the group to hear

Max had arrived at school previously and noticed the students gathering around the flag pole. It seemed to be they were waiting for something, but what? Max had asked around to see what had happened yet nobody told him a thing. It was starting to bug him not knowing what was going on. He saw Tash and Pine gathering too. He walked over to them both. He heard the news of what happened and was in shock. Phs 42 getting shot at from a mysterious sniper. Something fishy if you asked Max. This strange lady shows up and we have gunfire. Except what if she had been here for a while. What then. It was something Max had to think about. Max listened as Pine asked his question. It was a very good one indeed. Max nudged him on the arm to show that he was right there and then would give him the thumbs up showing that was a good question.

As Ms. Amelia, or as she apparently preferred, "Sin", gave her spiel, Tash watched her shrewdly. She couldn't put her finger on it but there was something off about this woman. Something that made the back of her neck prickle and the panther inside her head stand up and pace with its hackles raised. It snarled quietly, eyes flashing and she turned her attention to Ryuu and Break, giving a small "hmm." of agreement. Her eyes were still locked on Ms. Amelia Sin.
"I'm not gonna argue with you, Ryuu. I'm feeling it too. She's not telling us everything."Tash mumbled something under her breath in unintelligible Italian, her vibrant eyes never wavering from Sin's figure at the podium. Yes, she'd definitely have to keep an eye out for this one. Natasha was no hero: she liked staying out of trouble. Take that back, she loved staying out of trouble. It wasn't taking the easy way out, so much as it was avoiding trivial and unnecessary stress. But if shit went down on her watch, you wouldn't find her just standing there either.

((OOC: Same, If it is already to late to join then skip over my post and don’t worry about it.))
Ethan had been at the assembly keeping to himself. He knew no one here, and he had no intention of making friends with anyone. Especially in this recent light of hearing that students were being shot by some shadowy gunman. Ethan surveyed the people all around him.
Quite a motley gathering of people around here, of different backgrounds, appearances, ethnicities... by pure observation alone, it would be impossible to discern who the shooter could be, especially considering that everyone here was on record for counts of fighting at least once. Since Ethan had transferred the information off the librarian's computer to His Grace, he had nothing himself to work with. He knew that it wasn't any Paladin shooting people, otherwise Ethan would be let in on it, he was sure, and he'd been authorized to work alone anyway.
If it were possible to find this gunman, it could offer a wide range of opportunities to him. Turn him in and win the trust of the School Staff, or perhaps co-erce the shooter into helping him somehow. Ethan listened to the boy who asked the woman speaking a question and waited for the answer.
