*disclaimer, this is not intended to offend anyone or incite any hostile conflict
Yes WE have a problem not only me but several other members as well have discussed this, Based on the issue of the new stats granted for a late quest on public high school #259. I understand that some of you are upset by the few people's stats who were bolstered significantly I realize I am a guilty party as well. But I come to you all not as an angry party I come as the mediator trying to establish an open forum between those upset and those who benefitted from the bonuses.
To start I'd like to list those who were primarily involved: Roland Emily Masaru Bastille Olesya Dots Matthew Amtrum
These people had their characters taken from a previous quest and were confined to a smaller section of the board. This is news to some I do realize, what you may also want to know is that each of their characters where confined to an average of 5 threads for and entire year. Can you imagine that checking on every day to see if you've been released only to find out that you're stuck there to the same 5 threads that you sped through expecting it to be over? No but rather it took an entire year for organization sake outside the CF to free them. And when the opportunity was met it took even more time to free them due to inactivity from the saviors. The captives were locked away unable to move until their other characters made swifter posts.
Some people I'd like to commend for the time they spent. Each character locked away had to deal with a Quest character, single handed, on their escape along with other perils. Imagine that you a low level fighter having to fight Mr. Purple or Orange on your own. Impossible?
Other quests were interlocked into this one, Masaru, who most of you seem to be in fear of due to his bonus, had every bone in his body broke and had to fight a naked Cake man who tried to rape him. Bastille had a kid she was s'posed to protect die in front of her in gruesome detail.
Now as we move forward to the creation of #42 where most of these students still have yet to receive their bonus for the year they wasted away, most whom were abducted started with the 90 stat points from 259 still and had absolutely nothing to build from. They figure wait I'll be patient till the items and gifts are done. So they wait patiently still. Finally they are distributed and the captives feel ready to reenter and ever changing society. What happens, its all shattered...
I'd like for you to think on this not as a hostile action but as a concerned outlook from the inside. Make your judgments however you may but realize how these people feel, they were just like you at one point. Understand how it must feel to be given false hope... Thank you
I'd also like to add in a very special thank you to Mikey who I know from personal time with him that this man spent the last year working for these individuals and not only that but spared his free time to work for you all not only in this quest but to help mold the site we have now... Thank You.
(if there are any troubles or concerns with what I've said you can pm me or my Msn is Darksidekof@live .com, or even reply on this thread I'm all for an open conversation here)

Agreed 100%. The increases may seem ridiculous, but think of it this way; Sara Quinn has made more XP in two months as I did in that entire quest, though admittedly I did miss its opening and had to wait. Now, two months, due to diligent posting and attempting to make her character better, and expand and meet people, and, most importantly, FIGHTS.
She took the time to make her character go from a relative weakling, to someone that rivals many of the big guys on the site, through taking the time and doing her own part. The people who were stuck in this quest had the same thing, except they were forced to wait a YEAR. 50 Experience of a year is... chump change. Especially if you post like Jess does, which is ridiculous amounts.
Stu was only about a year old on 259, and I managed to acrue 30~ exp before having to transfer him over to here. I didn't RP a lot, and I still managed to make it. People who're bitching about the EXP amount given are the people who expect to do nothing and get free stats for it. Take some initiative, join a class (AND PARTICIPATE), start some fights, join the quest.
Gotta be proactive. I'm sure this Quest that they're running here will have some nice rewards for excellent RPing and constructive ways to defeat the quest characters.

First off- understand that this is not just staff power tripping over anything. We have received several complaints from around a dozen or so members about this, so we're naturally gonna take a look at it. A few of these members even expressed their consideration of leaving the board because of this power jump.
My personal dislike of this reward comes in two forms- the timing of it, and the strength of it. I'll deal with the timing first.
All the people involved in this quest were doing so on 259, but when 42 was started, we accepted transfers from 259, sorta like 259 was starting over without tyrannical administrators. However, some members (Like Dots), waited on 259 until these rewards were given out until transferring. Many of you, (Gabriel, Emily, and others), instead transferred over and still expected rewards from a board you are no longer a member of.
As far as the strength issue goes, there is a major power difference between 42 and 259. 259 was known to have absurdly powerful items, whereas the system 42 is now working under has reduced that power level drastically. What is happening is we are bringing in more of these super items into a board that exists without them. What is happening is the already strong transfers just getting more and more powerful.
What we as a staff are working towards is NOT taking these rewards away, but bringing down their power level to accomodate the differences between 259 and 42.

*sigh*
which in effect will still disappoint them, its not going to solve the inherent problem when these members are simply going to still see it as a power trip, I'm not trying to upset you so I won't go off angrily here but you have to understand its just that they had been given next to nothing I can guarantee you that they could have gotten the same bonus from that year they wasted and it would come of little consequence.
as for your issue on the ones who left to join here you have to remember that this was created by original #259ers it was to get past Leon not to give a set of control to a completely new site this was a back up system meant to re-estate 259 not as a grouping of all the others leaving theirs. So in essence it still has the same roots to it. Those of us who left to join here were simply eager to get the start back up without those of us who did indeed leave to throttle it's "rebirth" we wouldn't be here now...

Everyone. Please proceed.
This is good enough as a thread to begin discussion. Instead of making multiple threads, and since no other moderators are on...
*sighs*
Please use this as the discussion thread.
The timetable will be for 3-4 days. Then, I'll set up a poll, which will last 3-7 days.
Time is a factor here, and I do believe its prominent its fixed.
Edit: ---Hold. There we go, other moderators are on. Awaiting official approval.

Yeah, except for people like me who were forced off the board.
You weren't even part of the original administration team, so don't act like you know 'why' this site was made. I don't think anyone who is currently on the admin team was part of it, cept Greg, and i've got a strong opinion that this isn't his idea. The main Admins either were busy for a week and were booted off, or were upset with the way things were going and had to quit.
Its not our fault Leon's a shithead and banned some of us, its not our fault he shotgunned his own site in the face. I'm not gonna stop RPing because I got booted off of a site that I was trying to fix. By changing the way these rewards were initially gave out you are doing nothing more than being the antithesis of what this site was made for; 259'ers who weren't comfortable staying under the tyrannical regime of Leon. We put effort into that site, and we've put just as much into this site, in the few months its been active.
Good luck keeping any of the people who got those rewards if you reduce them. I know for a fact i'd rather not RP here than be limited because a few new characters got butt hurt that they haven't had a chance to get XP, when they themselves could've been proactive about RPing here.
Not everyone left 259 on their own volition.

Figured out why I can't post here... I'm logged into the site but only for this thread I was logged out. Any way...
Someone must lose a bit for us to get along... it appears to be clear now. Now that the discussion shall open into who shall be the losers, I would like to warn the losers that your sacrifices will be greatly appreciated and I hope that none of you will hold a grudge (I'm being to hopeful mm?)
Stats change with a bit of work, and losing a fight personally isn't a bad thing. It's fun for me to see what I can do with a weaker character, the underdog if you will. I'm sure it isn't the same kind of fun for you all, but I do hope we all learn to live and lose. While losing, I hope we learn to continue living through our losses.
We'll be much happier that way. Of course, you may wish to not try this out... and I have nothing against that, it is just a pauper's wish for the world.
I wish us all luck.

I'd also like to point out that the two people who were most vocal in the spam thread about how insane those EXP bonuses were, and I'll point us out, me and John, were both the first to make notice that we thought it was lame the stats were being nerfed.
I mean, look, I was just pissed for a moment, I've been playing catch-up since I created this character, and I felt like I was playing Mario Kart and everybody else just picked up a Super Mushroom and is now sprinting the hell away from me.
But I'm NOT quitting, I'm gonna stick around, at least for a while, because, basically, I like you guys, I like my character, and I'm not quite the pissant that I might've sounded like. I walked into 259 fresh off the character creation screen with base stats and managed to injure Con-whore Mathew Amtrum, I'm really not afraid of a few extra stat points difference.
Don't get me wrong, I wanna say "Trust the mods, they're doing what they think is right," and you know what? I will. The mods are doing what they think is right, so fuck y'all. If you want your stats and items back, let's try doing this in a civil fashion. Catch more flies with sugar than shit, after all.
However, my vote, as the board lowbie (although I have finally gotten past 'native stat' status) is to let the people have their shit.

People will be getting their shit. Just not as much shit. People don't seem to be realizing this. Look at Travis and Stu, we had some issues with people complaining that their items were to strong. And now you want us to let everyone in the quest get MORE items like that? We're trying our hardest to make this fair, to let those in the quest still have items and EXP, but not make them UBER STRONG SUPER MARIO CHARACTERS.
I am becoming angry. I am hurt, and getting very pissed that this is happening. We are trying our hardest to make everyone happy.

I personally believe the 259's should get there stuff. It just isn't fair that they go and earn it and can't even keep it

I said this on the Spam thread, I'll say it again.
I have no qualms with the EXP and items.
I find, stats are just stats, they're just numbers, nothing else.
They don't determine how good your RP ability is. They play a part in fights, sure, but honestly, how many of us fight all the time? Not a lot of us.
And besides, those who were in the quest, you worked for the EXP and items, you deserve them.
Nerfing the items won't solve anything, all it'll really do is cause a riot. I don't care about stats, as long as nobody blows Ryuu to kingdom come, I could care less how much more Strength or Constitution you have, I RP to have fun, not to worry my ass off about a bunch of numbers and calculations.

I would have to say I agree. The main reason I actually havn't finished my character yet is pretty much depending on how this all works out. Right after I made my character, the first character I ever made on ANY roleplaying site, I was locked away into a quest. This did not give me a very good impression of roleplay. Still, I carried on, for I believe that people are fair and this is just a game, nothing personal but if this were a game where people transfer from an old server to a new server, they wouldn't be penalized. They would perhaps be regulated so that not too many people transfer at a time, but thats what the 42 moderators have already done. I basically was in hibernation from roleplaying, and almost about to give up on 259 at a time, cause we had to put up with so much crap OOC and IC from different things arising. Now, it wouldn't be fair for a parent to walk up to a kid on a playground and take his toy because the other kids said it wasn't fair that he (or she) has that toy all to him(or her)self. Now, what if that kid saved his allowance and worked hard for the money to earn that toy? I put it at these terms because that is what it seems like to me. Now, I didn't really know this but apparently some people believe that it isn't fair for me to have such stats, and I apologize if I sound unsympathetic to these, for If I actually used the full year and perhaps more time of being locked away in those threads, I probably would have been near if not over the strength I am now. In fact, if you just look at the stats of some of the new people they are not THAT far behind after only a couple of months. At first, I was sympathetic and all right with what has been going on, but seriously? Having to deal with what we have dealt with over the past year or so (mainly the seven) I believe it wouldn't be fair to appease the new people just because they do not think it is fair older RPers who earned their things should be reprimanded. As a side note... You may have a point there, but I heard that someone said you would be allowed to transfer over items after, since technically the quest was finished, but the items were yet to be passed out yet. It is not like they left during the quest, they transferred after doing all the hard work because they knew it would be a long and difficult task to give rewards for a quest of that magnitude.
