Qi Science & Mechanics
“The sky is the limit.”
A research summary documenting known scientific principles behind the exploitation and use of Qi. I give you fair warning, this paper is written in part by the Awren family, and as such, may contain traces of untranslated technical data.

Introduction
When you were a boy, did you ever dream of having superpowers? Did you ever wish you could fly? Be anywhere in an instant? How about being able to deflect bullets? These supposed dreams were once fantasies, contained to the minds of comic writers and adolescent children. But with the coming of the next century, strange occurrences started to manifest themselves in unexplainable ways. One person was falsely accused of murder in the first degree; putting two bullets into two attacking thugs, WITHOUT the use of a gun. Another broke into a bank vault for his sister without ever touching the door or any one of the surrounding four walls. In both cases, the offending crimes were attributed to some kind of explanation; a disposable wrist gun or a dynamically molding nanite compound. Either piece of equipment is extremely difficult to come by, especially considering the age of accused parties. However, one thing did link the two, and it had nothing to do with any sort of relationship, motive or otherwise. Instead, the two boys were linked by a supernatural force that first manifests itself either with age, or in times of extreme need. This power is tied to many things, genetics, need, affiliation with certain elements, but those users of the power simply call it Qi. (Pronounced: kee/chee)
First manifested publicly in 1996, Qi is still a rarity among the general populous, showing visible signs in only about 700,000 people worldwide. Before there are any misconceptions made about this force, Qi is a natural occurrence in all living organisms; it’s the life force that drives every organic on the planet, from the lowliest of bacteria, to the largest of species, the blue whale. However, only a very small populous ever exhibit Qi in what’s to be called a signature form. This signature form is what makes every Qi as unique as a fingerprint. People are known to have similar powers, such as two technopaths, but they may specialize in different forms of electronics for example. Needless, I’m sure you can think of many strange happenings occurring around you, maybe an earthquake in a normally risk-free area, or even the unexplainable starting of a house fire. Whatever the case, an unexplainable event such as this might be attributed to an uncontrolled or materializing Qi from someone nearby, you never know.
While Qi is a supernatural force, scientists have learned much about the way it works through simple comparison, it works much like light, like atoms, like energy…and yet it works in so many other ways as well, transcending even the boundaries of space-time and dimensions themselves. They follow the laws of conservation, and yet still they break rules that physics once taught us to be the laws of the universe. The power behind Qi has also lead us to many conflicts for control of its power, or for its utter destruction. Whatever the reason you may be reading this paper, we hope that it will provide you with the insight, and the knowledge that you might so be seeking for your needs; for the good, for the bad, or for the otherwise downright weird. Thank you, and enjoy.

About The Authors: Lunari Awren is a Shoshoni Qi Magus, born in Indonesia, raised on a Shoshoni reservation near Seattle, Washington. Her home life was mostly tribal until the age of 13, when she was later transferred to PHS253 to start her secondary schooling. At the age of 16, her Qi power materialized, and was recalled back to Shoshoni spiritual lands in order to receive new skills. After extensive training with the elders, she taught shortly at the Japanese St. Paragon’s Secondary School for a short while, before it was destroyed by a Paladin strike force. For the next year after, she fled back to the States, and moved deep into Shoshoni lands, completing not only her training, but a three week spiritual journey in the woods. Having found her spirit, Luna, she returned, and was bestowed the title of ‘Archmage,’ the highest possible decoration for a Qi Magus. She now resides in Point Hope, Alaska, where she hopes to share her knowledge with budding students born with this special power.
Solaris Awren is an advanced military symbiotic artificial intelligence, born on the Riau Providence in Indonesia, and is the brother and twin of Lunari Awren. His own home life was spent mostly in Indonesia, but later moved to Washington to reunite with his twin. After a major accident in his freshman year at PHS253, which left him with a severed left arm, he would die at the age of 17 from a rare genetic disorder. Solaris was later reborn as a artificial intelligence, the result of a military project to create the perfect military commander. After being discarded for having emotions, he found his fiancée Sophia Stella, the projects manager, and Solaris’ creator, and after serving some time as the main core of St. Paragons, he is now on the run, providing technical support and electronic warfare capabilities through the student run intelligence program, Visions.
Matrim is a boy 16 years of age, born and raised in Great Britain fled from his home to avoid becoming an orphan after his father, a very wealthy musician, passed away from heart disease. He fled the country traveling under the radar, constantly traveling east towards China and Japan. Along the way he tried to find places that were rumored to be able to teach someone how to gain access to their Qi. The boy failed in his attempts to learn, and in his frustration he fled each place continuing east until he snuck onto a ship to Japan. While in Japan he found a place to settle down in the streets. He was then confronted by two muggers, whom he fought, but ended up fleeing for fear of being arrested once he had the chance. The two muggers ran across him again, and in the back alley of a corner store they attempted to shoot the boy down. The bullets from the guns never pierced the boys skin. Instead they seemed to ricochet off of the boy and as luck would have it the two shooters were killed by their own bullets. He currently resides at Point Hope as a junior underclassman.
