The oscillation of pressure transmitting through the randomly moving collection of particles, those not chained to a definitive shape or volume, was composed of frequencies structured in such an influential and powerful conduct that the feats following in the upcoming minutes could be predisposed and subjective to the mannerisms of the travelling waves. Battle would transpire in the form of dance, with movements unmistakably paralleled to the pulsing rhythms of applause, cheers, and shouts from the roaring audience surrounding the stadium, the organization and gathering of human beings in an analogous manner of death matches between Roman gladiators, with spectators aching to fulfill a thirst only quenchable by torn flesh and crushed pride. Dionysus may smirk in satisfaction as blood shedding warriors partook in the art he oversaw—theatre. For those who sat excitedly in the stands, it was sheer entertainment, and the god of wine would laugh as his specialties, madness and ecstasy, arose from the adrenaline-pumped fighters ruthlessly slashing at each other, swimming in awkward heaves through a smoke haze of dust emitting from the balls of their feet. And to append to the exhilaration of the presentation, music erupted into the stadium, just another element to bind the experience of dance and combat. It was the harmony of spheres, transcending any possible trepidation a participant of mêlée may be forced to face.
“OH EM GEE!” Elmira exclaimed gleefully, her grey eyes expanding in excitement while her pupils contracted. “Esto es genial! I totally love this song!” Her hips swayed to the beat of the music, with her tiny dark emerald green shorts following, attached to her moving bum and upper thighs, while her feet, bound in ankle socks and soccer cleats, slightly slid at repeatedly changing fifteen degree angles, keeping her balance. She then shook her shoulders, one after another, leaning forward in momentary abandon of appropriate composure, the straps of the right side of her white, loose spaghetti strap tank top and her matching padded water bra (after all, she did not want to be remembered as the tall, flat-chested girl), sliding down her arm.
At this point, she regained her equanimity, or enough so that she ceased her dancing, and flashed a toothy grin at her opponent, strawberry pink, sticky glossy lips parting from one another in sincere delight. “Sorry,” she apologized, though embarrassment was absent from her expression. “Gotta do what the song says.” Despite the fact that she had taken all warm-up precautions and procedures before entering the arena, Elmira began to stretch again, widening her arms as far as she could and leaning from side to side with her long bare legs spread apart. “Well, I don’t think there’s any formalized rules, so it looks like we can do whatever we like.” She bent her back in a manner than protruded her abdomen forward, pushing behind her waist with two hands. “It’s nothing personal, by the way. I just really like prizes, and I really like winning.”
With those words, Elmira dashed toward her opponent, rocking her body to the side as if trying to reach the tip of a triangle, then quickly jerking out her elbow, providing a sharp strike with high momentum aimed at the rival’s jaw.

There was really nothing but applause and cheers for the pair that came out to the vibes of music, and such other things that were to come. Trizen Takano stood tall, well as tall as he was, and watched his opponent down. She was quite the sight and lovely as she danced in her way. A small smirk crept as she was kind of being herself in the way that she danced and fell in complete obedience to the music's rhythm and harmonies. He himself loved music and couldn't help himself but figure out the changes of the tune.
'I... IV...V7...' he thought subconsciously and in that moment left the smirk behind as she also seemed to snap out of her dance. Well, vaguely.
“It’s nothing personal, by the way. I just really like prizes, and I really like winning.”
"It can't be personal if I don't know you," he replied to Elmira and was about to formally introduce himself. This would be his first tournament in America. Sure was different.
She dashed towards the raven-haired fighter and rocked her body to the side and went to provide the first shot. It was sharp and a big blow if he took. If he did. He figured a punch by how much of a mover she was, but not an elbow. That was much sharper than thought it. Seemed like this was going to be an interesting bout. She was spunky and full of energy. He was calmer and probably just as full of energy as she was. They just handled it differently. He handled his like this.
Trizen's head followed as he side-stepped to his left. While doing so, he held his right arm up at the side of his head in defense as she came. Elmira's elbow would have grazed the boy's standing arm, and as her body followed through with such momentum, Trizen's same defending forearm shot back in momentum from his free arm and launched his elbow towards the upper region of Elmira's back (aiming for the spine).

"It can't be personal if I don't know you."
Elmira giggled lightly, despite that it did not quite fit the atmosphere she felt thrust into. "Well, I know your name is Trizen Taka--" Connect. "OW!" She had expected some sort of counter to her elbow, of course, but she had not managed to dodge it well enough to completely avoid the hit, instead only turning slightly to the side a tad too late. Her upper back had taken the blow, and the only fortunate part of it was that she was able to avoid it landing on her spine. As a poor science student, she did not even begin to understand the implications and consequences of a severely damaged spine. "Damn, you're not bad!"
Defense wasn't exactly her specialty; she could give hits, but could not avoid or take them very well. Plus, in ordinary circumstances, she did not have motivation to keep going in a fight when injuries were too much to bear. But this was not 'ordinary circumstance.' This involved a reward, and there were many people watching. It would be embarrassing to lose. Besides, the battle had just begun.
Her initial reaction to coping with the strike was to fall forward, a descent she caught herself in with both hands and feet on the floor, putting herself in a position like she was imitating a four-legged animal. Interestingly enough, her experience with capoeira regional style fighting influenced much of her technique, including the use of elbowing, and the style paralleled with dancing in such a way that it did not appear odd that the music-loving party girl would absent-mindedly chose another move from the Afro-Brazilian style. If her opponent was able to pick up on her preferred method of fighting, these would become ineffective, but if not, he could continue to be surprised, and she would have some advantage.
Being on the floor presented a perfect opportunity for a Martelo-do-Chão (though Elmira herself probably wouldn't remember the names of the moves; she just thought they looked cool), meaning she would lift the left side of her body up, including her arm and leg, and spin a kicking instep from behind toward Trizen, much like a roundhouse kick but balancing herself on her right hand and foot.

Trizen had to suppress any sort of real bigotry he had about this bout in particular. If she was in the arena, she knew how to throw down and it would appear evident in the way she recovered. She naturally flowed with the movement and didn't try to pull off any sort of countered counter attack. The wild haired boy would have to keep on his toes to avoid making any sort of stupid mistakes, and with that thought in mind, he tossed it out. He knew if he started thinking too much, he would lose focus of the actual moment.
'She really must like this music,' Takano thought as he watched her move naturally the music's vibe as she was in an all-fours position. He clenched his fists and stood in a strong stance. Figured it would counter any sort of rhythmic variation she would have. Wait... rhythmic?
'Why does this feel familiar?' He thought as he foolishly took his eye off his opponent for a split second. Trizen knew something was odd about the way she moved, he just needed to remember why. 'Oh sh--'
Trizen lightly stepped back to avoid the first leg sweep but did not see the reverse roundhouse coming his way and the connection to his face sent him back a few. Any thoughts that protruded his mind were more or less instinctive, and needed to make sure he had a clear head about the fight. Particularly because her style seemed so familiar to him. It flowed so well and in sync with her body. It wasn't Tai Chi, it wasn't as smooth as Tai Chi. It had an edgier quality to it.
The young boy felt a bit of frustration coming on to him, but he shrugged it off as he was a bit of distance between himself and Elmira.
"You must really like this tune," he said to her while standing on his toes a little lighter than he had before.

Elmira nodded in response to Trizen's comment, after whipping her body upright, grinning enthusiastically. She was very upbeat and excited about the atmosphere--she almost forgot about the pain in her upper back. Almost. "Hells yeah!" Her legs swiftly carried her long frame closer to her opponent. Too much distance and she wouldn't be able to continue attacking. After all, she didn't have a gun in her hand. Melee was melee. "But I'm more used to dancing to this kind of thing at a club, not smacking around some guy while tons of people watch. Totally new feel to it, really."
The next step was to take him down further. Allowing the space between them gave him time to recuperate, and Elmira did not want that. Of course, this could go both ways: he could easily harm her, and she would be putting herself in danger by being only inches away from multiple attacks to finish her off. However, that was a risk she had to be willing to take.
As she ran, she positioned herself to perform an arrastão, which was a double-leg take down involving her grasping onto the back of his knees and pushing his backward using the force within her shoulder. If he was not able to slip out of her arms before she did so, she knew she would have to be prepared for a sprawl or even a chokehold, as such was the customary counter for such a takedown. But having this knowledge in her head made her more alert for whatever his reaction might be.

The distance did give him some time to think. As much as it wasn't a moment, those few bits gave his mind some time to analyze, adjust, and come up with a plan. Didn't quite know how the middle of it was going to go, but the result was what he was after.
'Fakeouts... when she was down she came up.... so if she's up, she'll come...'
The sophomore searched through every mental tunnel to find the piece of the puzzle that was missing. There was something he knew he missed, and he felt like Gregory House as he watched her. She was speaking to him, his ears matched the rhythm of the syllables and the tonality of her words. There were keywords in her phrase that stuck out to him.
"...Totally new feel to it, really."
'Wait... feel?' Trizen should have clued in to this from the start of the fight. She was a music lover. A different kind of music lover. She wasn't a musician like he was, no, she was a dancer. But both relied on one common denominator.
'Rhythm!!!'
She was charging at him. Elmira was a good runner, and her posture showed that she was quite the natural athlete. The young man of fifteen did something he knew quite opposite to be his natural state of fighting. Without stating gain of game or style, Trizen knew he had to take her head on, but with a twist.
'I guess this song is pretty good afterall...' he thought as she physically prepped herself for the arrastão. The boy saw it and it was in that moment he knew what she had assumed. He decided to do something a little different than a sprawl.
'Now!'
Instead of jumping back and grabbing her shoulders, Trizen Takano leaped up and towards Elmira in the splits the avoid her grab with both hands. In that same motion, the young man would plant both hands on the top of her head to help the leap frog motion he had going in momentum. As he shot over her head, the raven-haired boy aimed for both his legs to close and to further her momentum, he used both his feet to push off her back. That force would have slammed her straight to the ground, though there was a twist with that too. Trizen wore Dog Foot Spikes and aimed to hit the radius of her back he managed to hit earlier in the fight. He had no smirk, no facial expression. He knew it would hurt, particularly with those spikes.
The young man would land some distance after the attack. Back turned, Takano's left knee and right foot on the ground. Trizen turned his body to see what happened.

Oh, crap. Trizen's moves were certainly unexpected, because she had two possible counters in mind for her takedown, and he performed neither. In fact, the arrastão was not successful at all, and before she knew it, she was smacked into the ground face down. Her back stung even more now than it had done before, and she understood why as small trails of blood trickled down her sides, seeping from her shirt. The first thought in her mind upon this recognition was of frustration in the idea that her cute little top would be ruined with stains. But there were more unfavorable realizations to come. This injury was a devastating blow to her in battle, as she was not prepared to catch her fall, making the force of her body slamming into the dirt ache to a point that would impair her fighting technique, and her back was obviously wounded beyond repair. She had thought her scheme of wearing soccer cleats was clever, but this opponent had one-upped her with some sort of spiked shoes. Was she actually defeated? It seemed so quick; she had only performed a couple of attacks, and she had been so confident in her win, even with her words. “I like winning,” she had stated. Plus, she wasn’t exactly sure how this tournament worked. It was very possible that if she lost in this round, she would not be able to move on into further rounds. Did they pair up losers and let them duke it out, or were only the winners kept? And even if she did get to fight again, her body throbbed too much to perform well.
The music continued to blare in her ears, which at this point was less blood-pumping and more like an annoying taunt. “Ugh,” she groaned, lifting her head up for a moment before allowing her cheek to fall right back down onto the cushioning side of her arm. “I think… I think this means you win, Trizen.” She couldn’t see him from the angle he was at, and she wasn’t about to try to perk herself up again in an attempt to do so, but she imagined he was able to hear her. “Good luck in the tourney. You put up a good fight.”

((Super short post.. sorry -_- ))
Trizen stood up. He couldn't believe what happened. He... won? He won his first fight in a tournament!
'No, wait...' Trizen was still cautious. He didn't know what her Qi was, so he would wait until it was official that he had won. The music was still blaring and the crowd was still just as rowdy as before.
He wouldn't say anything until he was certain things were over. But just in case...
"I'm glad to have fought you, Elmira. I guess I'll see you at school," he said with a smile.
