If Xin was a fighting game...

[Adrian]

... what would your character's entrance animation, taunt move, and round over animations be? Be creative, and feel free to have more than one per category. You guys probably all know what I'm talking about, but if not: In a typical 2D Fighter, a la Street Fighter, when the battle is beginning, both fighters have some sort of animation that either brings them onto the screen, or something they do while already on it, like take a sip of tea, or get into a fighting stance. During a fight, many games have commands that allow your character to perform a taunt, usually to no effect other than to humiliate your opponent. Finally, when you win a fight, the winning character always has some sort of celebratory pose/animation as well. So what would be yours?!


Here's mine for Adrian:

Opening Animation 1(Serious) : Adrian pulls back his sleeves and loosens his tie before putting his hands up in a boxing stance.

Opening Animation 2 (Making Sport): Adrian checks his watch and raises his eyebrow at his opponent before saying, "I'll give you five."

Opening Animation 3 (Playful): Adrian throws up a loose, sloppy boxing stance, laughing and saying "Bring it!"

Opening Animation 4 (Arrogant): Adrian looks his opponent up and down before smirking at them. "Low-class whelp."

Taunt 1 (Serious): Adrian shakes his head and pops his knuckles in his fist, while saying "No chance."

Taunt 2 (Making sport): Adrian hops around, throwing up overdramatic Kung Fu poses, and says "You look just as silly."

Taunt 3 (Playful): Adrian leans down, putting his hands on his knees, and winks down at the presumably fallen opponent, saying "C'mon, it wasn't THAT hard."

Taunt 4 (Arrogant): Adrian shuffles his shoes on the ground, presumably to clean them off, while saying "Don't scuff my shoes."

Finishing Animation 1 (Serious): Adrian rolls his shoulders and pops his neck before tightening his tie back again.

Finishing Animation 2 (Making Sport): Adrian puts his foot on his downed opponent, looking down at them with a smirk. "Next time try fighting back."

Finishing Animation 3 (Playful): Adrian's arms go out to sides and his face assumes a 'wtf' expression. "We're done?!"

Finishing Animation 4 (Arrogant): Adrian leans forward slightly and very deliberately spits upon his opponent's fallen body. "Gutter trash."


You don't have to follow my formula or my different variations. Just go crazy.

[THE Justin]

Here's mine for Adrian:

Opening Animation 1(Serious) : Stu rolls his head, neck crackling with bones grating. Shakes finally, face set in stone cold stare towards his opponent, eyes completely blacked out.

Opening Animation 2 (Making Sport): Bounces on his heels, and then stops, does a sort of Bruce Lee head strike, and says "Alright, show me your moves."

Opening Animation 3 (Playful): Stu stands on one leg, stretching it, and rubs the back of his head, smiling, "We're gonna fight now? If you insist..."

Opening Animation 4 (Arrogant): Stalks onto the stage from outside, shoulders slightly hunched before letting out a long exasperated sigh, his body de-tensing as he does so. "I've got better things to do."

Taunt 1 (Serious): Bouncing alternately on his feet, shakes his hands out before bringing them up. "Lets do this."

Taunt 2 (Making sport): Stops and doubles over, pointing. "You've got to be kidding me!"

Taunt 3 (Playful): Pulls out a cigarette, lighting it, takes a drag and blows towards the enemy. "Poof. In a cloud of smoke."

Taunt 4 (Arrogant): Throws off his jacket (OHHH SHIT MID LEVEL COSTUME CHANGE), balling it and hurling it towards the ground, before throwing both hands to the sides. "IS THAT IT?! COME ON, HARDER!"

Finishing Animation 1 (Serious): Stu pretends to reinsert his pretend dislocated arms and then shakes them, settling down and beginning to slouch.

Finishing Animation 2 (Making Sport): Throws out a faux captain falcon stance, before going back to a slouch and looking over the fallen enemy. "Those were some pretty bad moves."

Finishing Animation 3 (Playful): Stu leans on one leg, slouching, smoking a cigarette. "Was it good for you?"

Finishing Animation 4 (Arrogant): Picks ups his coat and puts it on, stalking off stage as if to show he has better things to do. Flicks his cigarette towards the body as he walks past it.

[Damien Kross, Jester]

Opening Animation: Put arms out to side as if on stage, grinning. "The stage is set. Let the show begin." Assumes Hapkido stance.

Taunt 1: Laughs and taps ears. "Plug your ears."

Taunt 2: Giggles girlishly, placing a hand over his mouth. "You're funny."

Finishing Animation: Gives a large theatric bow to the fallen opponent. "Never forget, this is MY show."

Rage/Heat/Fire for Zack

*switches to inner ear headphones* loses health, attacks are faster and do more damage, no recoil when hit. Lasts until MP3 player runs out of battery (AKA Heat/Rage/Fire bar goes down) In which case he pops another one in (cool down period where he can be hit for free)

[Travis]

Opening Animation 1(Serious) : Travis takes his fighting stance right away. Traditional kick-boxing.

Opening Animation 2 (Making Sport): Travis waves opponent forward with that cocky grin of his own his face before saying, "Lets see whatcha got!"

Opening Animation 3 (Playful): Travis laughs at his opponent and takes up his stance.

Opening Animation 4 (Arrogant): Travis drops his arms to his side, and lifts his chin up slightly while saying, "Give you the first shot. Not that it'll matter anyways.."

Taunt 1 (Serious): Travis both hands form fists, and he slams his knuckles together while staring toward the other opponent.

Taunt 2 (Playful): Travis lifts his hands up and wigles his finger in a mock 'scaaary' kind of way.

Taunt 3 (Arrogant): Travis turns his back toward his opponent, arms crossing at his chest and a smirk on his face while saying, "Hit me if you can.."

Finishing Animation 1 (Serious): Travis drops hands, hooks thumbs into his pockets and turns and walks off, a small 'Tch' escaping his lips.

Finishing Animation 2 (Making Sport): Travis leans down and smacks his opponents face a few times saying, "Wake up. I'm not done yet.."

Finishing Animation 3 (Arrogant): Travis kicks body and sends it flying away.

[Matrim Gallagher]

Opening Animation 1(Serious) : Matrim slips his arms through the sleeves of his shirt, letting it fall off of him, and goes into a boxing position.

Opening Animation 2 (Making Sport): Matrim puts his cheek out, tapping it with his finger, "I'll give you one for free, come on!"

Opening Animation 3 (Playful): Matrim stretches his arms and cracks his neck, "Alright, let's do this!"

Opening Animation 4 (Arrogant): Matrim simply looks and laughs at them, "Oh Please!"

Taunt 1 (Serious): Matrim waves opponent with both hands while bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet, "Come on..."

Taunt 2 (Making sport): Matrim waves opponent one with on hand, "That all you got? Give me some more!"

Taunt 3 (Playful): Matrim kneels down next to the opponent, "Seriously is that it?"

Taunt 4 (Arrogant): Matrim turns away from the opponent completely with his arms crossed, "What a waste of my time..."

Finishing Animation 1 (Serious): Matrim throws his shirt over his shoulder and simply walks away.

Finishing Animation 2 (Making Sport): Matrim hoists opponent over his shoulder (presumably to take them to the nurse) and says, "We oughta do this again some time!"

Finishing Animation 3 (Playful): Matrim bends down and says, "Aww, do you want me to get you a nurse?"

Finishing Animation 4 (Arrogant): Matrim walks by opponent, and as he passes stops for a brief moment to simply say, "....weak." and continues walking.

[Ryuu]

Opening Animation 1(Serious) : Ryuu has his arms hanging loosely by his side, his eyes closed, before clenching both his fists and his eyes flash open, as he goes into a sideways stance.

Opening Animation 2 (Making Sport): Ryuu cocks an eyebrow, as he pulls out a headband and ties it around his head, before he stands sideways, his arms loosely by his side as he grins mischievously, “Alright, it’s go time!”

Opening Animation 3 (Playful): Ryuu pulls his jacket off and sends it flying as he grins mischievously, his hands out in front of him, “Shall I led, or you?”

Opening Animation 4 (Arrogant): Ryuu sighs in exaggeration, as he shoves his hands into his pockets, “You’ve got to be joking...”

Taunt 1 (Serious): Ryuu folds his arms across his chest, a dark expression on his face, “Take me on? That was your first mistake...”

Taunt 2 (Making sport): Ryuu pretends to be more interested in his fingernails, before looking at his opponent from the top of his vision, and smirking as he casually shoves his hands into his pockets, “Your second mistake was thinking you could actually defeat me!”

Taunt 3 (Playful): Ryuu bends down slightly in front of his opponent, resting his hands on his knees, “C’mon, is that all? Don't make me laugh...”

Taunt 4 (Arrogant): Ryuu smirks at his opponent, before sneering, “Tell me, when should we get this party started?”

Finishing Animation 1 (Serious): Ryuu pulls his headband off, before burning it to ashes with the flame surrounding his hand, his eyes red, before he walks away.

Finishing Animation 2 (Making Sport): Ryuu stands over his opponent, the wind blowing his headband and hair back, “Time’s up, it’s over...”

Finishing Animation 3 (Playful): Ryuu makes a flame the size of a lighter flame appear on his index finger, before pretending to blow it out, “Burn baby, burn...”

Finishing Animation 4 (Arrogant): Ryuu lets a soft “Tch” escape his lips, before walking away, slinging his jacket over his left shoulder, before stopping, “A waste of an effort...” and continues to walk off.
