The coloring from the second drawing isn't bad Scott, and the anatomy looks good too.

Anatomy is fairly needing some work, still from the shoulders down.  I suggest an anatomy book. O: If you want to study some poses I suggest going to posemaniacs.com and do some practice sketches. Also, check snigom.deviantart.com/art/Male-Anatomy-Patterns-44663581if you want any help, just ask. |

Just be careful with how big some parts of the body are compared to their other pair. Your head is fine, but you'll need to practice doing the shoulders.
