Moral Crest High was the 42nd public school to take on corporal punishment in the California Public School system. Though the area it was built in is primarily middle-class, some of the surrounding urban atmosphere's leaked in, influencing the easily molded youth of the neighborhood. Gangs began to form, and along with that their territory. The attitudes and rivalries moved into the school, causing disruption and chaos in its wake. The teachers did what they could to quell the rebellious youth, resorting to physical means when other schools across the country scoffed at whacking knuckles with rulers. In the end it was the Student Hierarchy that brought balance to the unruly school.
A recent influx of transfers caused a ripple in this balance, as a public high school in Long Beach, California, Public High School #259, was wrought with an earthquake and damaged severely. To prevent loss of education, the state paid for the students to be moved to the stabler PHS #42 until repairs were finished. The transfers that had been directed to PHS #259 were also detoured to PHS #42, creating a variety of new faces among familiar ones. Some settled in nicely while others fit like a bull in a china shop.
With the influx of transfers the students of PHS #42 began to see things they have never before seen. The Student Hierarchy, which before seemed to be untouchable was toppled almost instantly by the former School Captain from PHS #259. New Pillars were appointed and a brutal new reign was instituted. There were those that welcomed this brutal form of order, while others began to resent it. Some of the transfers began to ally themselves with some of the natives against these brutal means. While some of the natives quickly saw the merits of such an efficient way of handling the rouge students and found themselves drawn to the new Pillars.
There was peace on the surface, but it was a shallow peace. The calm before the storm. With tension rising it is only a matter of time until someone explodes and this fragile new order is shattered. With the system prevail in the end, or will chaos envelope the school?
Only time will tell.
