The Pillar System
The Pillar System is essentially the student hierarchy which controls the school.
The Student Hierarchy, or what could be called as the "S.H.", are four students specifically selected by a single person to govern and enforce laws within a school. Ideally, it is supervised by the Principal or any member of the faculty.
The student body is required to follow and to abide by the laws of the school and the hierarchy, or face severe punishment.
Student Captain
Ideal Attributes: Str, Dex, Con
The Student Captain is, ideally, the most powerful student in the school. While, he/she may be the best fighter, he/she may not be the most influential. The SC usually acts as the leader of the Student Hierarchy, with the Student Body President as his/her co-leader. He/She is the living representation of the school and what it stands for, a symbol if you will. His/her defeat is the defeat of the school, and will be subject to replacement. The most pressure is onto this position, since he/she is looked up on and much is expected of him/her. Leadership is his greatest quality.
Student Body President
Ideal Attributes: Cha, Int, Wis
Though may not be as physically powerful as the SC, the Student Body President holds the most influence over the entire student body. His/Her connections within Faculty and Students alike help maintain control and order. He/She and the SC work together, but he deals with student affairs more than the other.
Varsity Captain
Ideal Attributes: Str, Dex, Con
The Varsity Captain is, obviously, the person who handles all the School Sports teams within the school. He/She manages the more bulky student groups, and tends to be the muscles of the group.
Head of the School Newsletter/Director of Media
Ideal Attributes: Cha, Int, Wis
While the Head of the School Newsletter may not be the most powerful student within the entire campus, and may be, in actuality, the weakest of the four -- he/she is generally the one that controls what the Student body knows through the School Newsletter. His/Her influence, thus, is second to the Student Body President. The HSN usually ends up as the spokesperson of the group when the SBP is unable to. His/Her press privileges allow him/her the freedom to go to places outside of the home school without being questioned, and is typically the eyes and ears of the entire Hierarchy.
Frequently asked Questions and Concerns
Okay, so I'm a Pillar, what now?
The Student Hierarchy is a very important group of students. They are, as they're called: "Pillars". They are the political symbols of the school, and their actions will reflect the school in it's entirety. Your job is to keep the peace, and make sure there is nothing that would give the government reason to shut your school down.
Uh huh, what about the Student Captain?
The Student Captain, as previously stated, has the most pressuring job of the four. He will have to work to keep his title, as it has been law that if ever a Student Captain be defeated in a fight... he would have to pass on his title to the victor, regardless if he (as the previous holder) wants him to have it or not. That, unless the challenger declares that he has no interest in a title or it is clear on both parties that THAT fight is for sparring only.
The Student Captain can only be replaced in two ways: Force, and Retirement.
The SC can either be defeated, and have the challenger claim the title... or retire and let the entire school brawl for the position on their own.
What about the other pillars?
The 3 other pillars are subject to the current SC's decision.
It doesn't mean that you defeated a pillar, that you will get the position -- it will always be under the SC's judgment. That is only if there is a SC.
If the SC is defeated, the new one is given the liberty of choosing to keep the old ones, or to give them all the boot and choose 3 new students to take their positions.
f**k, I'm not gonna last a week in this...
Don't worry. All pillars are immune to replacement for a month. After exactly one month of you being put into office, you CAN be challenged and replaced.
Hmph, I'm SC and I hate people. I don't want 3 more pillars. Can I go solo?
Yes.
