Personality: There are leaders and there are followers. Steven is without a doubt a follower. While he isn't the kind of follower that is helpless without someone telling him what to do, he is at his best when he is in a structure and has a clear set of objectives. His ambition isn't strong enough to cause him to lead others, not when he can just as easily hook up with a group that appeals to him and further his desires that way.
He has no strong feelings either way when it comes to the school system, it is all he has known and he really can't imagine a world where the system was different. Because of that he doesn't find much wrong with corruption and abuse. People spouting about how bad the system is and how corrupt those that enforce it make very little impact on his opinion.
His people skills suffer greatly because he tends to be brash and say what he thinks. He gives little thought to hurting peoples feelings, probably because he is not sensitive himself. He doesn't see why people would sugar coat something when you can just outright say it and then the issue can be handled. This of course makes him horrible with women, not being skilled at the subtleties of compliments.
Still despite that he is good at reading people, he is good at figuring out what they are trying to say and what they will do and even why. It's just that when it comes to dealing with them his intellectual understanding of them takes a back seat to his bluntness and lack of social skills.

Description: Standing a few inches shorter then most of his peers who seem to be around six feet tall at least, and much slimmer then his combat oriented brethren he is not the most impressive student to behold by far. That isn't to say he isn't without his charm, he has been described as cute more then once, but rarely more then that. Having a sort of a charm, the sophisticated look with glasses, a hint of rebel mixed in thanks to his Green hair, dyed to match his eyes.
His build is slim with a small amount of tone and definition to it. Mostly from necessity, he works out a bit and trains only to ensure he doesn't die in a fight. Because of that he has a slightly toned body.
In the case of clothing it is about comfort, he doesn't walk around in combat gear, not finding any real point in it. Instead he just wears what is comfortable. Normally a big brown coat, a shirt and some comfortable slacks and shoes.

Fighting Style: Jeet Kun Do

Description of style: Where most styles focus on fighting a certain way Jeet Kun Do is unique in the sense that it encourages a fighter to use everything they know in order to defend themselves. It is a unique and ever changing style as the fighter goes on a journey, constantly improving his abilities and knowledge. Instead of learning certain moves Jeet Kun Do focuses on being able to do what you can correctly and fluidly, tailoring itself to the fighter. Because of this no two Jeet Kun Do fighters are the same. Steven tends to use a combination of punches and palm strikes, as well as knees and elbows, anything he can to win and defend himself.
Overall Strengths: Versatility is the name of the game. While his moves might not be as fluid as a master in an art when working with that small skill set, he is trained to do a variety of moves. Everything from punches to kicks, to grabs and holds. It is an ever changing style suitable for the ever changing situation that is combat.
Overall Weaknesses: Because the style resolves around quick strikes over power extra work is needed to take an enemy down. The lack of focus also make his moves less fluid then someone that practices a move set over and over. On a more personal level his lack of training and real interest in fighting is the main killer, while he is capable of defending himself, against a dedicated fighter he will almost certainly be outmatched.
History Information
History: Steven is what one would call a product of the system. Not in the typical sense of him being overly violent and constantly fighting, nor the extreme of peace seeker trying to overthrow the system and return things to the old ways. Steven would probably be considered an ideal case as far as results go. Most of his fights are in self defense, and he is intelligent and cunning. He holds little to no animosity to the system or the teachers nor does he praise it. It simply is how the world is.
That's the simple way to put it. He was born after the Corporal system became the standard, it was all he knew, from Grade school up. He was hit when he was out of line, and he was forced back in. His home life was much the same, his parents believing in spanking, but not without reason. The type to spank their child after sitting him down and explaining what he did wrong.
Needless to say he learned to change his behavior early on. This didn't mean he never did anything that was wrong, he just worked hard to not get caught. And if he did get caught, well then he deserved to be punished. He quickly found that the best way to not get caught was to have more information then everyone else. It started small at home, finding out when his parents would be gone and for how long. It evolved at school though, secrets, plots, information. He sought it out, and knowing the power information gave him he soon learned the value of it. Becoming an information broker of sorts, willing to share what he knew for a price. Not always money, favors were just as good.
Because of this he had a fair amount of protection through Junior High and parts of High School, it wasn't to say people didn't start fights with him, on the contrary he pissed a lot of people off with his personality and by sharing secrets. It was because of that he started to learn Jeet Kun Do, not through a dojo, but from watching Bruce Lee movies and reading books to get the idea of what to do, then practicing it on his own. He couldn't say he was incredible at fighting, but at least he hasn't had any serious injury to date, which was good enough for him.
With the shutting down of some of the other schools after the Earthquake Steven is on the look out for more information he can gather and a niche to crawl in to. Somewhere that he can do his thing and have a degree of protection.
