Hobbies/Talents/Skills:
Maura is an avid reader and a fantastic musician. She plays a multitude of instruments and sings. Her favorite instruments being: the piano, violin, guitar, and the occasional ukulele.
Frequently plays concertos in a room by herself, to entertain the spirits she can communicate with through her Qi.
Loves talking to new people, whether they be alive or deceased.

One of her favorite pastimes is communicating with the dead, she has a cat from her childhood constantly following her around. (In ghost form).


Mental Information

Personality: One might think of someone who talks to the dead as gloomy or depressed but Maura is actually quite the opposite. She sees her gift as enabling and comforting, after all she get’s to see the people in her life that she has lost on a regular basis, and learn from many great minds of the past.
Maura is outgoing and friendly towards those she deems “Good” or “Approachable”
She would rather hang out with a group of outcast kids playing d&d than go to the “big party Saturday”
Maura is awkward, in a cute way. She is bizarre, cheery, dorky, and doesn’t realize how adorable she is. She is extremely attractive and doesn’t use it to her advantage, or even seem to take note of it. Maura knows where she stands in life and is not easily swayed by others. When being attacked or in conflict she chooses to appear naïve, but do not be fooled, she is a smart as they come.
Maura is completely dedicated to the arts; she composes her own music, plays in the school orchestra and acts in school plays. (Sadly, she has been forced to be on hiatus.)
Maura is secretive about certain aspects of her life due to her embarrassing current living conditions.

Mentality/Ideal/Belief: See: Shakespeare’s “All the worlds a stage, monologue.” She knows life begins, we journey through it, and the curtains inevitably fall, one might as well enjoy life on the way. Maura is not at all scared of death. She enjoys her life on Earth, and would be distraught if she had to make an early departure, but oh well; everyone kicks the bucket and lands in the netherworld.
Maura is very for “Free love” and other idealistic “Hippy” movements, only she truly believes and attempts to practice peace.
She really isn’t much for fighting but if she needs to, she will.
She has never killed someone and never plans on it, seeing as she’ll have to speak with them shortly after.



Physical Information

Build: Not well toned. Maura is skinny, maybe thin or petite is a nicer word, but not to the point to that it looks unhealthy. Maura is medium in height, and a small notch above average in chest size. No stunning abnormalities as far as build goes.
Defining Marks: Her pale skin tone, the lovely shade of red that her hair is, and her piercing green eyes.
Description: One might assume her Maura’s last name probably starts with an O’ because she looks extremely Irish. The red hair, the green eyes, the pale skin, truly a gorgeous lass. She occasionally wears (Non-prescription) thick-rimmed glasses as to look more “intellectual”. Her three favorite accessories are her leggings/tights, her scarves, and her collection of hats. She always strives for that “indie” look, with earthy colors much like someone who hangs out in a coffee ship (In fact she does work at one.) She has medium length hair that she straightens (When she can find an available power source), otherwise her hair is wavy. Maura wears makeup, but very lightly, just enough to touch up. Maura is soft to the touch and very cold bodied.

Fighting Style: Tai Chi Chuan

Description of style: Really more of an art than a fighting style, Maura took up Tai Chi at the age of 9. She practices it as an exercise for her mind and spirit rather than fighting. When she does fight, she takes principles and movement from her training, when at all possible she would rather dodge than strike with a chance of being out maneuvered. She takes from Bruce Lee’s philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, moving much like the flow of water, moving with the opponent as opposed to separately.
Overall Strengths: Very defensive, and confusing to an opponent unfamiliar with her style. If Maura can outsmart an opponent she can win (What battles she decides to partake in) She can usually outlast a big brawler of an opponent in a game out cat and mouse.
Overall Weaknesses: Her attacks are weak, there is no way she can beat someone in a test of pure strength. If she gets caught in a grapple or stunned in any way the fight is basically over.


History Information

History: Maura was brought into the world under sad circumstances, her mother had complications during the birthing process and lost her life shortly after the baby was born. Ever since birth she has had the gift of interacting with spirits so she never really lost her mother. Maura’s father on the other hand, did, so he refused to believe that his girl could contact her. Maura grew up with her loving father who refused to date anyone else. She lived a normal life and had plenty of friends, did all the same stuff any kid would do. She picked up on Piano at an extremely young age (Influenced by her musician mother) which led to her love of music. Her father always supported her throughout everything she did but remained in denial about her gift (Even though she had given him plenty of undeniable evidence)Maura’s mother played as big of a part as her father did in raising her, she went to her for advice, encouragement, everything a parent should do for their kids.

As of a year ago Maura was forced to live on her own. Her father couldn’t take being alone anymore, and decided he and his daughter where to move across the country to Maine, so he could put the past behind him. Maura however loved San Francisco and all of her friends and memories, she planned on living there forever. She worked out a deal with him that she would live with a friend, and was guaranteed a great job. So her father allowed her to stay and moved away, sure that she would be safe. The job didn’t work out and the friend also moved away, so she currently lives in her mother’s old van (that her dad couldn’t bring himself to sell) with her kitten (died when Maura was ten) Amanda. She works in a coffee shop called Flour Chylde, and keeps her homelessness a secret. She has all of her clothes and most of her possessions in her van, and keeps clean by taking showers at a local gym.
