Mental Information
Personality: The happy-go-lucky, fun loving, ball of hyperactivity and over exuberance is dead. Due to recent events, he now views the world in a very dull light and it tends to reflect in his personality. His newest ambition is to become someone who can’t and wouldn’t be easily hurt, and to do that, he has literally killed his former self. Compared to his personality back at #259, Rem Aoyama is now cynical, pessimistic, honest (what some might call tactless) and logical, which makes him come off as abrasive or nonchalant, even when he, in fact, isn't. Despite this, he is mostly always calm, cool, and keeps his wits about him. He tends to be silent most often than not, speaking only when necessary. He values self-preservation above all else, whether it's physically, mentally or emotionally.

Description of style: In Krav Maga, there are no hard-and-fast rules, and no distinction in training for men and women. It is not a sport, and there are no specific uniforms, attire or competitions, although some organizations recognize progress through training with rank badges and different levels. All the techniques focus on maximum efficiency in real-life conditions. Krav Maga generally assumes that the individual attacking will give no quarter; therefore, as a response the attacks and defenses are intended only for use in potentially lethal threat situations with the aim to neutralize and escape as rapidly and safely as possible. Crippling attacks to vulnerable body parts, including groin and eye strikes, head butts, and other efficient and potentially brutal attacks, improvised use of any objects available, and maximizing personal safety in a fight, are emphasized.
Overall Strengths:
Krav Maga is an unpredictable art, which usually makes for the element of surprise. It builds self-awareness and awareness of one's surroundings, enhances the user's self-control and. It's rapid, flowing motions and ruthless nature provides for an efficient response to any situation. Given its ruthless nature, Krav Maga is not restricted to rules and practices. If you can inflict major damage by attacking someone in a place others consider off-limits, Krav Maga practitioners will do it.
Overall Weaknesses:
The one, glaring downside is that Krav Maga has little or no techniques for grappling on the ground.
History Information
History:
He has no memory of his life before the age of five years. The furthest back Aoyama Rem can remember is being adopted by a loving infertile newly wed couple. Growing up in such a household, he developed into a very extroverted and confident youth with an anime obsession and the makings of a 'ladykiller' . It was from that age that he began brainstorming what would become his own self-taught brand of martial arts. When he was ten years old, his adoptive parents adopted a little girl from the Philippines to be his younger sister. The two were almost inseparable for the next few years, Rem becoming extremely overprotective of her. In high school, he was constantly picked on due to his diminutive stature and his popularity with the girls, and so had to develop an overbearing demeanor to make people leave him alone. Using his, now well refined anime martial arts, he'd fight back, proving himself to be one of the toughest students there.
A year later, his foster parents were murdered in a botched carjacking while he was at school and the authorities put his sister into an orphanage before he could return for her. When he did manage to track the correct orphanage, he was told that she had again been adopted.
Taking whatever inheritance his foster parents had left them, he took off after her to America.
He had secretly been training in the art of Krav Maga for six months but during a four month hiatus from school he'd taken, he pursued an even more intensive training regiment in the art, mastering it in only a year.
Wrecked and broken over his then girlfriend, Delilah Black, dumping him, Rem spent many a night in some serious self-introspection. The pain of the seperation was so severe, the Japanese youth could not stand it any longer. Nor, could he stand his own weakness, patheticness, at being so greatly affected by this. So, one day. Out of necessity. He decided to change.
Fights fought, loves lost, Rem Aoyama's "never say die", happy-go-lucky personality has all but disappeared. In what can only be described as 'maturity by necessity', Rem is now the antithesis of his former self, personality wise. He has become a person who cannot be broken, physically, mentally or emotionally.
He has transferred from PHS #259 to #42 for two reasons: to accompany his foster sister, Emily, and to leave his immature ways behind him. To seal the deal, he has begun his own branch of the Militia.
