Mental Information
Personality: Harley will always be the sunshine in any group she is in. Never without a smile, Harley can usually find a bright side to just about any situation and dislikes brooding over anything. She's almost completely compiled of positive, and almost nothing can take away her happiness.
She's not a robot of course, and Harley does experience sadness from time to time. However, she will not linger over it too long. She always gets everything off her shoulders then moves on with her life. When it comes to anger, Harley will say what's brothering her without any hesitation, and she'll tell it like it is. She's quite honest and has no problem with speaking her mind. Clearly, she is no pushover.
Harley tends to push away her fears when she knows she has to do something. For example, tiny as she is, Harley will stand up to just about anyone, especially if she's sticking up for someone smaller or weaker. She has little tolerance for bullies and is unafraid of getting injured for the sake of a small-fry (even if she's a small fry too). However, if she lives through these types of experiences, the fear will soon catch up to her and she gets small spazz attacks as she questions what on earth possessed her to do such a thing. A few minutes of this and of course, she'll be fine again.
Harley is comfortable on her own or with a crowd. While she much prefers being surrounded by people as she tends to be a bit chatty, being an only child has made her independent. As long as she has something to do she's fine all on her lonesome. Unfortunately, she doesn't always understand the concept of personal space and tends to invade other people's without realizing it. She's known to touch other people's belongings and people in general (like grabbing their faces or hands even if she's only just met them).
Likes: Bright colours, stripes, creating, mechanics, action, occult and horror, playing video games, almost any kind of music (mostly techno and heavy stuff)
Dislikes: Complete silence, sitting around with nothing to do, bullies, anything to do with Batman (even though she references it herself, unwillingly)
Mentality/Ideal/Belief: "There's always a brighter side to things. Idiot."
Physical Information
Build: Harley is built like normal, healthy girl. She has small muscle definition, to suggests she exercises and keeps fit. Most of her muscles are in her legs, however.
She's small framed, with a small bust, curves at the right places, and long legs. Not exactly threatening to say the least. Just right for her size.
Defining Marks: None (yet?)
Description: Harley enjoys to dress in blouses and skirts. Usually the blouses and skirts are plain and are black or white in colour. Being a fan of colour, Harley decorates this lack of colour with bright coloured accessories. Her hair is usually overhauled with hair clips and bobby-pins of varying colours.
Harley likes to wear stockings, usually striped or polka-dotted. The stockings tend to be a mixture of black and fluorescent colours. Her shoes are rather simple business-like shoes. Easy to slip on and match whatever she's wearing.
She's never without a certain hair clip (cross shaped)that reaches down onto her forehead a bit (giving it a patch-like appearance). She can also often be found sporting large earphones on her head or around her neck. The music tends to be a bit loud so others are capable of hearing what she's listening to (which, depending on your tastes, could be good or bad).
Fighting Information
Fighting Style: None (Self-taught)/Mimickery (perhaps)
Years Practiced: 4-ish
Description of style: Harley will use what she's learned on her own through the small experience she's gotten. It is enough to suggest she can handle herself, but not enough experience to give her an upperhand over those with actual martial arts experience. The more she fights, the more she'll improve of course, and with her observational skills, Harley picks up on certain attacks and mimicks them. Chances are, she won't be able to use certain attacks as effectively, but of course this all comes back to practice.
Harley prefers punching over kicking, mostly because it's the first thing she thinks of doing in battle. Harley, however, doesn't restirct herself to any method. She does whatever she thinks is best, even if that means using a weapon (and you know, anything can be a weapon).
Overall Strengths: Harley is small and fast, which allows her to dodge with enough facility. She's also a quick thinker, and if given the right environment, can utilise it to her advantage. Her quick thinking also allows for her to create fast action plans and she can also read her opponents fairly well (usually).
Overall Weaknesses: Harley isn't quite as strong as she'd like to be, so her attacks are usually rather weak. It will often take her more than one strike to actually deal damage, which can often make taking an opponent down so much more challenging. She isn't very tough either, so good enough hits spell trouble. She's also not so great when it comes to grabs, and moves like those in wrestling (as she doesn't usually have the strength to force herself out of grapples).
Without the proper training, Harley's fighting isn't quite to the caliber of others, which means her attacks and their effectiveness may vary.
History Information
History: Harley never really asked about her parents. Mostly because she'd traveled through too many families at a young age to know who to consider her parents. Apparently, she was put for adoption at a young age because her real mom was a prostitute who could hardly keep herself alive, let alone a baby. So her beloved mother got rid of her. Harley was never mad about that knowledge, in fact, she thought her mother did the best thing. Harley wouldn't have wanted to live with such a poor role-model. She couldn't imagine the kind of men she'd be exposed to. Ugh.
It didn't take long before she was adopted. She didn't know these people for very long, but, she felt that calling them her real mom and dad was good enough. She had a lot of strange looks when she'd talk about her late parents. Mostly because Harley was a blond-haired blue-eyed white girl, and both her parents were African. From what she remembered, up until her third birthday, was that they were incredibly kind. Hell, they were almost too kind. Looking through photos, she was sickeningly spoiled. There was always toys everywhere! And the little outfits she wore looked rather expensive.
Anyway, as mentioned before, her adoptive mommy and daddy passed away, and she was entrusted to the family friend who'd always wanted a child of their own. Her knew parent was named Michel, or well, now he goes by Mimi. And he's a she now. Need and explanation huh? Harley's new parent was a transgendered man, so, he was now technically her mom. As well as her dad sort of...a two in one! However, Mimi refused to be considered male so it was technically just mom.
Yup, Harley had been raised since age three by her new transgendered mommy. It was Mimi who had called her Harley too, as Harley's name went from Tolly to Abigail. While Mimi would have kept Abigail for the sake of her late friends, she saw an opportunity she just could NOT pass up. You see, Mimi was one of those crazy fanatics. Her obsession though, was in all things BATMAN, and with the last name Quinn you just KNOW where this was going. And there you have it. She was named Harley after Batman's very own Harley Quinn. Mimi was pleased, but did she ever think of how annoying it would be for Harley growing up? After hearing so many batman references after introducing herself, Harley began to have a sort of resentment for all things Batman.
Actually, she mostly resented her namesake. People tend to grow attached to their namesakes, but Harley hated the chick in the jester suit.
Anyway, Mimi was a bit disappointed that Harley wasn't sharing her love of Batman, but, there was some good from it. It may seem a bit cruel, but, the constant teasing over her name had toughened the girl up. Harley would usually take it all in, but, she eventually started standing up for herself. Mimi believed it an important skill, as she herself didn't seem to do enough of it. In fact, Harley was often the one standing up for her mother. People are cruel beings and when they do not understand something, they tend to do horrible things to them. Mimi being transgendered, which meant she was a man dressing up like a woman and on her way to get certain surgeries...was often ridiculed. Harley didn't like how defenseless her mother was in such confrontations, and so Harley would often stick up for her.
As she got older, she had noticed how awful things were. She began to notice the graffiti on the house that said "Freak" and other such things. She began to notice the stares and hear the whispers. It angered her, to be honest. But that's social norms for you. Anyone out of the ordinary was subject to being shunned. It wasn't too bad though, sticks and stones, right? Her mother was a grown woman and she could handle it. What Harley was concerned about were the mysterious bruises she'd get some days. When Harley learned that her mother would get beaten, she became determined to protect her.
It started quite slowly. People shoving her mother would receive a palm to the nose, courtesy of Harley. Not everyone took being attacked so lightly. Usually, no one wanted to attack a such a tiny girl, but, there were those who weren't going to take her crap. So, Harley would get her own shares of beatings. She preferred being the one to take the hits instead of her mom, though. Mimi thought differently, and she disapproved greatly to Harley's use of violence. Unfortunately, Mimi was still a pushover and she hardly had any authority over Harley. Harley respected her mother of course, but, when it came to protecting her, she'd disobey her time and time again.
After a while, Harley began to learn a bit. Trial and error mostly, but she began to see how she could avoid certain strikes, or how she could preform certain grapples. Mimicking video games sort of helped too, but, she had to try it out more than once to get the hang of things. She wasn't a great fighter, but she could certainly hold her own now.
It was hard to keep friends in school. Harley couldn't seem to find anyone who could deal with her mother maturely. So Harley settled with getting many acquaintances but never getting close to anyone. This was she could maintain a social life but never have to deal with people coming over to her place. Often she wished she could have sleepovers like everyone else did. This frustration sometimes caused Harley to lash out at her mother, asking her why she couldn't just be normal like everyone else's parents. Mimi was compassionate though, and she never took such outburst to heart. Instead she felt sorry for her daughter. Harley would come around though, and apologize. Harley loved her mother and would never really change her if she could.
Attending high school now, Harley had decided to keep up the "No close friends" policy she had created. The batman references continued of course, but there was just no escaping those. Things only really became interesting on her second year. The transfers didn't make her nervous, but she was interested in what sort of things were in store from this point on.
