The girl isn't above breaking some rules to have her fun, but is always taking her risks with a good deal of calculation. Her number skills let her churn out approximate percentages in many situations. This metal pre-calculation is what makes people think she's more reserved than she really is, as there's always a little hesitation before getting herself into most any situation.
She has a sense of justice that doesn't coincide with that of the majority of society. At least not the society that's under the watchful eyes of the government and police laws. She believes all information should be free and openly viewable, and will often seek out such information when she's told she can't find it. Any withheld information is like a challenge to her, a challenge which she usually makes a determined point to overcome. And she's not above breaking laws to find out.
As a friend, she's pretty devoted and works to help her friends as much as possible, even if they don't ask for it. It can make her seem a little overbearing, but she just really wants to keep her friends close. having lost friends before, she just doesn't want to have to go through that again. Because of this, she hasn't even thought remotely about having a lover. Her general disinterest in her own body and her lack of confidence in being able to keep a friend prevent her from even thinking about starting a romantic relationship. She tends to stick to baggy clothing, so her thin frame and often hunched posture make her look like there's really nothing under the clothing. But, she does in fact have a rather sporty little body under the hoodies and cargo pants. Her sports keep her fit and trim, with a fair amount of muscle tone. She's just naturally small-framed, so she often looks like she's wasting away when she's really in fantastic shape.
Since it's just about the only bit of skin she's open and willing to show, her face is more well known than her body, especially because of her noticeable maroon hair. She keeps it styled in a loose, frayed bob cut, with a small ponytail bound by a copper clip. Kanika has a sharp face, often with a one-sided grin when she's having fun. Her pale skin and pale eyes contrast a lot with the more often than not darker clothing she wears, and the maroon hair.
Her clothing reflects her typical company and her opinions of her own body. As a geek gamer girl, she wears only what's comfortable, which often means baggy. This conserves power more efficiently, and strengthens the direct attacks used by the system. Of the philosophy that the quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line, all the attacks are simple and linear, but quite quick. They're also all about disrupting or injuring an opponent. The attacks are often defenses at the same time, using their superior speed to hit points on the body that will collapse the structure of the opposing attack and either outright stop it, or make it nigh ineffective.
Overall Strengths: Kanika is a quick fighter and a quick thinker. Combat for her is in most situations instinctive, allowing her to counter with maximum speed and chance of success. Her emphasis on counter-attacking keeps her safe from most attacks, so long as she's not caught off guard. Her sporty body packs a decent amount of force too, despite the frail appearance.

She can counter a counter to her counter and so on, but she's at a wide disadvantage if the enemy is faster or very significantly stronger than her. Kanika is the product of a military family that started in Washington state. Her father is currently still in service as an artillery specialist in the Army. They were stationed in California recently, and he was sent off for a tour of duty that's supposed to last a year. Her mother was a housewife, but was rarely actually home. A few years after Kanika's birth, her mother died from accidental electrocution during a rainstorm. Since then, Kanika has been taken care of by her father, and military compensation.
Her early days were nothing to write home about. She had a slight speech impediment, and a dislike of writing that caused a little concern in her earliest teachers. However, she began to show sighs of quick improvement in the fourth grade, and was catching up to her peers in that regard. She socialized frequently with her classmates and was something of a class clown throughout this time. It was in the fifth grade that she calmed down after her popularity took a turn for the worst when she moved to Florida state when her father was transferred. She just didn't know anyone and couldn't really worm her way into any particular group.
Her middle school was a good deal worse, when popularity seemed to take a priority over grades. Kanika tried, but came off as weird and awkward rather than fun and quirky. The only place she really fit in was with the more reclusive groups, which was how she got initiated into gaming and computers. Her grades also improved dramatically from a B- average to a minimum of A-. English constantly gave her issues in trying to keep that perfect record. In the eighth grade, video games inspired her to learn martial arts, and she wound up learning Wing Chun after school. The physical activity also got her back into playing schoolyard sports, especially soccer, though she also tried out for baseball, though she wasn't put on the team, most of the team of the opinion she should have been playing softball with the rest of the girls.
Being discriminated against for being female, even in something so traditional as the bounds between boys and girls baseball teams, ticked her off just a little. So she made an effort to pwn just about any boy that she came across, just to prove she could. It wasn't really so much militant feminism, so much as a desire to confirm to herself that she wasn't destined to be pushed into more feminine practices if she didn't want to do them. Which was why she made it a point to try out for baseball every year, take shop classes, and just try and be "one of the guys."
She moved again to California when her father was transferred, and got put into PHS #42. Now with a new school and environment (though changing from one sunny coastline to the other wasn't that big of a change) she's aiming to keep her independent style and get to the top of this new school, hearing that many of the students are quite tough, and potentially troublesome.
