A bright, fuzzy view, only a narrow beam, came into Kanika's mind. She groaned softly, opening her eyes more. It was all still very fuzzy. She didn't have her glasses on. Of course. She slept with them off. Her hand flopped to the side, feeling around for the glasses on the nightstand. No luck. No nightstand. She rolled over with a groggy groan and saw a table covered in boxes that beeped and lit up. And the room was full of white and green. Her place was dull and underlit most of the time. And sort of a sandy color on the walls.
She suddenly sat up, her eyes open wide. Her hand went to her face, feeling something there. Thick padding. And it stung to touch her face. She had bandages on her cheekbones and forehead. Her hand jumped little bits at a time, getting a full feel. Then she remembered the fist that put her down. The woman who used it. Some hero she turned out to be.

Kate had dragged her all the way to the hospital. Had made sure she was checked in, and had made sure to get the head doctor on stitching the girl back up. Soon enough the girl was resting on a bed with her face well treated with Kate sitting to her right. The blonde was minding her own business, and drifting in her thoughts.
Then the girl was waking up and looking around for something. Probably the glasses Kate had broken. The rich little blonde had made some phone calls about that as well. The same make, model, etc would be on the way soon, here shortly.
"Hey there Miss Hero."
Kate's full lips twisted up just slightly in a smirk. She was waiting for the girl to respond somehow. Perfectly ready to punch her lights out, once again. The blonde was smiling so evilly, waiting for some sort of reaction.

She heard a voice. It sounded like pure, concentrated, Californian bitch. But what could she tell? Her head was still groggy. Kanika groaned lightly and removed the hand from her face. Turned out she was right though. Blonde, chesty, bitch... And last she checked, they were in California. She still had it.
"Lemme get this straight? You beat people up in traffic because you were held up... Then you waste more of your time... By visiting me in the hospital?" Her brow was low on her face as she tried to figure it out. She was good, but she wasn't THAT good.
She slumped back into the bed, wincing just the tiniest bit from the jostling. She'd have to remember to keep her head motions slow for a little while.
"Hand me my charts. I want to know if I got a concussion or anything..."

Yes, it would be rather confusing to most people. Kate shrugged a bit, rolling her shoulders to say she didn't give two shits if it made sense or not. Kate reached over and snatched the charts off the end of her bed and chucked it on her lap calmly.
"I wasn't annoyed because they made me take longer traveling, well at least, not by much. I was annoyed by their stupidity of screaming in the middle of the road with no care of what they were doing to the rest of the world in their area. By doing that and getting them out of the way, I unclogged traffic. I couldn't just let you lay on the ground... and the head doctor's seen you, says you'll be fine without a mark on your face as long as you don't pick at it."
Kate relaxed in her chair. There was a warmth in her voice that couldn't be understood by many. Why? She saw something in the girl, something that reminded Kate of herself.

Was it odd that she could understand a doctor's handwriting? Nothing seemed to be too wrong. Just lacerations on the face, some bruises on her body. Her face got a little red at the thought. Someone had been looking at her body, and she wasn't entirely proud of it. She wasn't dissatisfied, but just self-conscious about her appearance. Then there was the hospital gown. First time she'd ever been in one. Had it even really been necessary?
"I see... But the cars were still in the way. I suppose you alleviated traffic a little that way... Kind of the wrong way to do it though. Words could have done the job. And I wouldn't have wasted your time..."
She sighed and let the chart flop closed at her side. Nothing interesting in there. Lacerations and bruises. Recommending rest time and soup. That kind of thing. It was good for her. But it was boring to read.

"Words would have done the job? I don't think so darling Kanika."
She had read the name off the papers. The blonde smiled slightly as she st in the chair. Words... so many people thought that words were the things that made the world go round. Oh how wrong they were! Oh how stupid they all were.
"Words do nothing, actions mean everything. They would have continued to yell until they had no breath, but beating them... that teaches them never to yell at each other in the street in the middle of traffic ever again, for fear of blondes running out of no where and smacking them around. A lesson learned for life."
There was a low chuckle from Kate. The girl waited for the girl's reaction, wondering how she would take this piece of information. How she would think on it. The blonde really wanted to pick this girl apart and figure her out fully.

"I like to think words hurt worse than fists... As long as you know the right words to say..."
She shifted a little, snuggling into the pillow lightly. They weren't comfortable, so she was trying her best to at least get some fluff to them.
"So few understand... Words are actions too... Speak. Verb. ll beating people up does is reinforce paranoia, and add a level of fear and pain into people's lives. There's enough of that. No... The problem with speaking isn't that they're ineffective. It's because others aren't using the proper action. Listen. It they listened to each other, something could have been worked out. They would have heard the horns. They'd be better off. Punching the hell out of them... Doesn't make them listen."
Violence solved nothing. Like Doctors. They only prevented an eventuality. Or caused it. A temporary solution to a problem that needed a permanent one. The quick fix. Lazy asses.

"Broken promises and lies Kanika. Broken promises and lies."
Kate's whole life was filled with broken promises and lies. "I'll be with you forever." "I love you." "I will always protect you." Kate chuckled under her breath suddenly, shaking her head side to side. How do you explain things like that to someone who hasn't been through it? It was like describing what a color was to someone who had been blind their entire lives. It just couldn't happen.
"Actions speak louder than words, they scream it. Your actions spoke volumes about you. You're weak. Slow. And a push over. You really should work on that if you run around trying to stop fights all the time. You're gunna get your ass handed to you by more people than just me."
