Usually when the mics were set up, he could easily speak to the people on the other side of the glass through the speakers that were there, but he didn't need a mic for this song because he wasn't singing. So Nick moved to the door and opened it slightly enough to stick his head out for a moment.
"This is an electric bass guitar. If you know what a stand up bass or a double bass is, then that's what this is, just in guitar form, and electric." he chuckled a little at his explanation.
He would close the door and signal her to start recording if she didn't have any more questions. The bassline would be a simpler version of the guitar riff, with little complex fills every so often, which weren't that difficult, but looked difficult on the particular instrument.

ooc: Arrrh short.
A bass what? She had no idea that there were different types of guitars. Well, she wasn't sure of what she heard, but she assumed from his comment that he had an electric version of what he just played. She could even see a cord running from the instrument.
She pressed the button again and was even able to catch the difference between a bass and whatever he played before. This instrument was much deeper, but she liked the sound. Well, she liked everything he played because it all sounded good to her.
When he gave her the signal, she pressed the button. She allowed a few seconds to pass before she spoke through the microphone.
"Is there anymore?"

Once he finished and gave her the signal, he put his bass down. He was about to pick up his guitar once more when she asked him her question. Nick mouthed to her "one more" while holding up one finger, leaning down to pick up his guitar once more and putting it on.
He gave her the signal and after the record light went on, he began to count a few measures of the tempo he had been using to himself before starting to shred a intricate, monster solo he had been perfecting for about a week now. If this didn't impress Emi, he didn't know what would... not that he was trying to impress her or anything...
Once he was done, he gave her the signal nonchalantly and put down his guitar before exiting the glass recording area.
"So. How'd you like it?" he said as he approached her.

"Oh."
She pulled her finger away from the microphone button and watched him pick up the guitar again. Unless she misunderstood what he gestured, then this would be the last part that he would play. It was funny how fast time passed.
Emi felt disappointed about everything ending, but his guitar solo dispelled that feeling. Out of all the parts he played, this was easily his best. She didn't think it was possible to hear anything better than the bass or the other guitar part. That one solo was what made her really like him. She was starting to think that she liked him more than Ryuu.
She felt as if she was caught up in a spell. When he finished, she shook her head and pressed the button to stop the recording.
"That was amazing."
Amazing was an understatement, but she could think of no other words that could expressed how much his music impressed her.
"What are you going to do with those parts?"

Nick went over to her and sat down on the stool that was next to where she was sitting. He turned to the Mac, which had recorded all the parts that he played. Nick spoke to Emi, even though he looked at the screen.
"Now that they're all recorded, what I have to do is cut the track into the different instrument sections, because we recorded each separate instrument on the same track. That's not how its normally done, but whatever."
He quickly looked over to her to see how much she was really into all of this and then looked away once again.
"So after I cut each instrument, I make new tracks for each one, so that they all line up and play simultaneously and in sync. And that's it in a nutshell." he said, turning to her and smiling.

"Oh okay."
Emi had no idea what he was talking about, but she nodded. She bit her bottom lip and looked at him. His blue eyes and smile caused her face to turn a deeper shade of red, so she turned away to hide her embarrassment. No matter how long she had been hanging out with him, she just couldn't get used to those eyes. They were so beautiful, and they made her feel strange things.
"That sounds pretty cool."
She moved closer. To Nick, it might seem like she wanted to get a better view of the screen. That was partly true, but she mainly wanted to get closer to him. She was even close enough to smell what kind of soap he used.
While he was working on putting the music together, she stole glances at his face. If he managed to look back at her, she would turn her head away and pretend to be concentrating on the screen.

Nick couldn't help but sport a smirk on his face as he worked. Even though Emi was trying to be clever and sneaky in looking at him and getting closer to him, he couldn't help but see everything she did within the reflection of the screen. From his angle, the high resolution back-lit screen of the Mac let him see every move she made when he changed his eyes focus on the screen.
Every so often he would still look back at her to see if she was still with him because she was so silent, and she would turn her head as if she were engulfed in the computer's monitor. The work he was doing was very simple and he finished it within ten minutes. He bent down and grabbed the pair of studio headphones that were resting on the Mac's tower and turned to Emi.
"I'm basically finished, want to hear what it sounds like all together?" he said offering the headphones to her.

If she had any idea of how Nick was able to tell what she was doing, she would have been mortified. However, the reflection on the computer didn't cross her mind in any way; her gaze was too concentrated on Nick's profile.
The only word that came out of her mouth was halfway through the editing process.
"Do you sing?"
A guy like him who could play at least a dozen instruments should at least be able to sing. Hearing his guitar was nice, but she would much rather hear his voice. Well, if he replied that he could sing. If he couldn't, then she wouldn't worry too much. He already did enough to impress her.
When he was finished with editing the music, she blinked. She was too distracted to catch what he just said, but she was able to figure out what he wanted her to do with the headphones.
"Thanks."
She put on the headphones and smiled shyly at him.

The question hit him hard. Did he sing!? The answer was an odd one.
"Uhh... not really well. I kind of focused more on playing my instruments than perfecting my voice..."
It was a good excuse from just saying "no, I'm horrible at singing".
Once she picked up the headphones, she smiled shyly at him and he couldn't help but smile back as he hit the play button. He hadn't listened to it himself yet, but he was confident in skills that it would still sound decent even though some parts might be off beat and it still wasn't mastered. He didn't realize it, but he was smiling at her the whole time she was listening to it.
When she was done, he would take the headphones back from her and face her while speaking to her.
"So how'd it turn out?"

So he didn't sing after all. However, she decided not to let that bother her. Why should it when he was an amazing guitarist.
As soon as the song played, she turned her eyes away from Nick. She was afraid that any expression would reveal how much she liked him. Yet, he would have to be thick-headed to not realize her fangirl crush.
The music was amazing. If there were any mistakes in the song, then she didn't catch them. Her knowledge of music was too small for her to know such small details. In her opinion, the track sounded as if it was made by a professional musician instead of a high school teenager.
"You're amazing!" she gushed as soon as the last note faded away. Emi pulled off the headphones and returned them to their owner.
Now that they were done with this whole music business, what were they going to do. She hoped that he wouldn't expect her to go home because she wanted to stay just a little longer. Slowly, she met his eyes. Her face was red again, yet she didn't turn away. Slowly, she moved forward until her mouth was only two inches away from his.
She hesitated. What was she doing?

Nick blushed at her compliment. Even though he knew he was rather exceptional for his age at all this, he knew he achieved his talent from thousands of hours of learning, observing, and practicing. His father even said he had the talent he needed to survive in the industry. But just the fact that he got a compliment from Emi was enough to feel proud of his work, even if it wasn't perfect or complete.
He then noticed that her eyes were locked on his and he stared back. It was a tad awkward, but Nick couldn't seem to take his eyes away from hers that moment. He could tell she was blushing as she moved her face closer to his. She stopped when their mouths were a couple inches from each other and Nick couldn't help but become frozen at their sudden closeness.
"T-thanks..." he managed to mumble, waiting to see what she would do next.

Although their lips were only inches apart, he showed no sign of knowing what she was about to do. He looked confused, maybe even nervous. She wondered if he had a problem with her entering his comfort zone.
Emi felt discouraged. She almost pulled herself away and apologized. Yet, she felt that she had to do what she wanted to do ever since that day on the beach.
She closed the two inches between them and pressed her lips softly to his. Slowly her eyes closed, but she felt nervous. What if he had a problem with her kissing him? Well, if she pulled away, then she would understand. His feelings were important, after all. She wasn't expecting him to like her back.

At first Nick was shocked at what Emi made herself do, not knowing what to think or what she was thinking as the gap between their lips closed. Her lips were lightly pressed against his and after the initial shock of what she did, to him it felt right. He didn't know how to explain it otherwise, but it just felt like that was meant to happen at that particular moment between these two particular people.
He moved himself closer and slowly embraced her, their lips never parting, but instead Nick deepened the kiss, applying more pressure to it and bringing her as close as he could to him. Their bodies were now touching as best they could while they were sitting there.
After what seemed quite a while, he pulled away slowly and looked at her with his glistening blue eyes and a very small raise of the corner of his mouth. He looked at her for a few seconds in silence before speaking.
"So... what exactly was that for?" he chuckled a little as his question.

After Emi pressed her lips to his, he returned the kiss. She felt his arms wrap around her body, and she moved closer, almost sitting in his lap. Although she had only kissed a few guys in her life, kissing Nick felt as natural as if they had been doing this for years. However, the kiss felt so different from what she experienced from her middle school boyfriends.
She almost protested when she pulled away slowly. Her hands grabbed his shirt and tried to pull him back to her again almost aggressively. One look into his eyes loosened her grip, however.
"I have no idea... I'm so sorry."
Emi looked down and licked her bottom lip. She could almost remember the feeling she experienced when they kissed. If only they could do that again.

He watched her tongue lick her bottom lip and it made Nick want to be there once again.
"I-its alright... I-I enjoyed it. I'm glad you did it." he smiled embarrassingly at her and blushed a little.
He didn't go right away for another kiss, though. He had some questions she had to answer first.
"Uh..."
His mind drew a blank when all it would think of was embracing and kissing her once again. He leaned forward and kissed her again, this time attempting to insert his tongue to increase the passion, holding her small body close to his.
Nick kind of wanted Emi to suggest they go somewhere else to do this, as they were stuck in a pretty awkward position, but he didn't know if she would think of it.
