OOC: Before you ask, I was given permission by Greg to do this.
Ryuu sat on his chair at his desk, his arms resting on the back rest of the chair, his back facing his desk. His hands were intertwined, his face resting against his hands. It was nighttime, hours after he had won the tournament. He had received his prize, and hadn't opened it until now. Once he did, he was now faced with a dilemma. the North Face Jacket given to him by Riley Davis, and the prize he had won, were both spread out on his bed, as he stared at both, caught in between a rock and a hard place. The jacket was the symbol of Ryuu's promise to Riley, to watch out for Emily, but the overcoat was the symbol of his victory, beating out all the other competitors, and coming out on top. He closed his eyes, darkness filling his vision. His entire room was dark, except for the moonlight that was shining through his window. He had to think, make a choice. One or the other. He could only choose to one. But did he? Slowly opening his eyes, Ryuu had thought of a way where he didn't have to choose one or the other. Turning in his chair slightly, Ryuu flicked on his desk light, flooding his room with dim light. He then got off his chair, and walked to his bed.
He had thought of a way to preserve both, without having to give one up for the other. He stretched his hand out, and grabbed his North Face Jacket. The sound of ripping filled the air, as Ryuu ripped his jacket open, pulling out the inner lining of the jacket. Once it was out, he then walked to his desk, and opened one of the drawers, and pulled out a portable sewing kit. He then walked back to his bed, and opening up the kit, he pulled out a needle and spool of thread, threading it through the needle. He then picked his overcoat out, and began to carefully pull out the inner covering, once he was done, he picked up the lining he had ripped out, and by the light of his desk lamp, began to work on the overcoat. With each stitch, the lining became attached to the overcoat. Once all the lining was stitched, Ryuu then went to stitch the inner covering back onto the overcoat, covering up the lining. Ryuu worked steadily, his eyes filled with concentration, not caring for the time. By the time he was finished, it was already well past midnight. Placing the overcoat back on his bed, Ryuu placed the needle and spool of thread back in the case, before collapsing into his desk chair, turning his light off, throwing his room back into darkness.
He had found a way to preserve both the symbol of his promise, and the symbol of his victory. He now had a jacket that combined both into one. Getting off his chair, he walked to his bed, and lifted the jacket up, looking at it. It looked exactly the same, only difference was, there was a thick lining inside, that would give Ryuu good protection, while not restricting his movement. And the best part, it didn't look like it had protection inside, it looked like a fashionable overcoat, which would probably throw his opponent off and for a loop. Now that, was worth it.
