(Ooc- For the sake of not losing the thread in its entirety and since the thread is vague on where it took place (once its modified of course). Im taking the liberty of bringing it over and having a space time continuum and continuing over here instead. . If a mod has a problem with that please address me either in PM or MSN. Thank you.))
A new day another problem. Even though Roxy was getting used to the new school it seemed hard for her to concentrate on her school work. She thanked her lucky stars she found a study group for most of her classes in such a quick manner. She was able to work them into her schedule.
Today seemed like one of those days where she didn’t feel like doing much of anything when it came to school. Her mind wondered while she sat in class. Her notes being covered by small random doodles of boredom.
Looking back towards the window she contemplated wither or not to just run after class. She did have that free period and nothing was really stopping her. The teachers seemed to not bother as long as the class work was done. So in a way she was free and clear if she was going to ditch.
Looking at the clock there was still 15 minutes of class time left. She was half tempted to just excuse herself right now instead of wasting time doing nothing. It wasn’t like the teacher was doing much of anything but expecting students to read silently to themselves. Something she could do at home or outside. Not cooped up in this classroom.
Rising from her seat she grabbed her bag and her books and walked towards the desk.
“May I be excused I have to go to the little girls room.”
She smiled politely as the teacher waved her off not even looking up from the crossword puzzle that they were working on.
“Thank you.”
Roxy turned and made her way out the door. That was easy enough she thought as she headed towards her locker.
The halls were quite bare, students were still within classrooms except for a few here and there. Roxy paid them no mind as she had come to her locker and opened it now having her locker combination written on the palm of her hand.
~~~Pine~~~
Pine loved history class. Actually that would not be accurate, Pine loved history. Pine loved its cruelty, he loved how it always repeated itself, and mostly he loved the fact he could look back on it with 20/20 hindsight and silently mock the losers. It was his first class and of course he was called up to the front of the room to introduce himself. Pine was mentally prepared for the laughter that came after his name, he was prepared for the jokes, and the paper being tossed at him. What he didn't prepare for was the teacher to join in with the students. His jaw clenched as he made his way back to his seat. The eyes hidden by his hair were red with anger. A single frustrated tear followed the scar down the left side of his cheek. The demon was starting to brew.
After maybe 10 minutes of humiliation class started. They were learning about Ancient Roman Architecture. Pine of course sat there taking notes and listening to the teachers words while the little voice tried to encourage him to rip her throat out. Pine wanted to but could not bring himself to do so. If he did he would spend another year in an 8x10 praying for death and talking to no one. Pine had his fill of that already. Besides, doing so would just bring back too many unkind memories. Memories Pine did not want to relive 24 hours a day 7 days a week for a second time.
About 30 minutes into class Pine put up his hand. The teacher stopped writing and acknowledged him with a nod.
"Washroom?" He inquired.
"Go." Replied the teacher.
"Going to leave a fresh Pine scent in there for me?" One student shouted causing the rest of the class to laugh.
Pine clenched and unclenched his fists trying to keep the old demon down. These students and teacher were making that very difficult. The problem was if he let the demon out to play there was no guarantee he could control it. So instead Pine stiffly walked out of the classroom and into the halls. He was sure most of his stuff would be vandalized before he returned so there was no point in returning until the end. Besides, from the sound of the teacher she taught straight from the book so catch up would be easy.
Pine decided he would spend the remainder of the class in the library. The problem was he had no clue how to get there from here. So he started aimlessly wandering the halls until he saw a girl at her locker. Figuring it was safe Pine approached hoping she could help him.
"Excuse me miss? Could you...tell me how to get to the library from here? I'm... kind of lost."
Roxy leaned back from her locker and gave him a once over, cause that's what girls do.
Roxy had to question wither or not she looked like she knew what she was doing cause even she still had a hard trouble locating where anything is, well except for her classes, occasionally. If anything it was a compliment that she didn't look lost. It wasn't like she had 'new student' written on her forehead or anything to beware the guy in front of her.
"Sorry doll, I would tell ya if I knew but I'm probably just as new as you are. I can guess if you would like me to but I would hate to have you running all over the school for the sake of my bad instructions."
She smirked as she closed her locker now rid of everything in her hands. Locking it she then pointed upwards.
"But if its any consolation I believe its on the floor above us. But again you just can't quote me on it."
Her smirk widened into a smile. She may sound like a smartass and she was but she was completely serious in that she didn't know where the library was.
~Really? Well if I had my way he'd be ripping your head off your shoulders. But don't quote me on that. BITCH!!!~ The little voice did not like her tone or her smile. In truth neither did Pine but he wasn't sure why. He did know however doll was not something he went by.
The voices reaction allowed a small grin to cross Pine's face as he looked at the girl standing in front of him. For all she knew he was smiling at her comment. For all she knew there was no little voice in his head trying to reason smashing her head between her locker door and the locker itself. In truth the idea was starting to appeal to Pine, it seemed like a good way to blow off some steam. Instead, Pine let out a sigh and shrugged helplessly.
Pine would play nice for now. If he could not get to the library perhaps she knew a good place to just escape class. Something about her made him think she didn't exactly spend much time in class. Judging from the way she spoke he stereotyped her as one of those girls that knew they were hot, seduced the nerd into doing her homework, and slept with the teacher to pass the test. Of course, like with anything else, he could be wrong. Perhaps she got kicked out of class for trying to seduce the teacher instead.
"I arrived here...Yesterday. The truth is...I...I'm trying to avoid going back to class. Would you...happen to know a place I-I could go to...escape for the rest of the period?"
"Escape? That would be what I'm in the process of doing, at least until after my free period which follows shortly after this one."
Unknowingly aware of his thoughts his appearance, he seemed pretty eased even laid back a little. Who would think he had other ideas moving through his thoughts, specially not Roxy since she happens to think the best in anyone until hey prove her wrong. She can't help but be a positive type of person.
Roxy then placed her hands in her back pocket of her jean skirt and quirked her eyebrow.
"I have found that the best place would either be the cafeteria or the court yard. I'm heading to the courtyard and if it floats your boat your more than welcome to tag along."
She would of course move along with or with out him. She had plans and they didn't involve standing in one place. Specially since she urged to be outside rather than inside. Winter was over, spring was coming. She had a bit of cabin fever going on.
~Tag along? Who does she think she is talking to?~ The little voice remarked in an agitated manner.
~Shut up...She doesn't know who she's talking to and that's the point. Now behave yourself.~ Pine replied shutting the voice up.
"Ummm...Sure assuming you don't mind the company." Pine replied and moved in turn to follow just behind her off to the side furthest from the lockers. It wasn't like Pine really knew the route to the courtyard yet either. The fact was he only arrived at the school yesterday. He may have gotten a tour of the place but it wasn't like he remembered everything. The school was big and there were many places and wings hidden all over the place.
~HOLY SHIT SON! WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT ASS!!!!~
Of course Pine immediately lost all interest in his thoughts as his eyes fell to the lower part of her body. It was a good thing his bangs covered his eyes from view or he could get in a good deal of trouble. He watched her legs move and her nicely shaped bum move with them. He was simply lost in her hourglass figure. He saw her boobs when she turned to face him earlier. Of course now Pine had the full view he was a little impressed. The girls he kept running into here were of a high caliber in several different ways. He was sure, at least when it came to women, boredom would never be an issue.
"My name is...Pine by the way... Like the tree. It's nice to meet you miss?" Pine left the question open for her to reply at leisure. Eventually he was confident she would give it to him. His eyes were now straight ahead so not to accidentally bump into anyone or fall down a flight of stairs. Of course, that did not stop him from occasionally taking a look at what was leading him to the courtyard.
"Roxy, Roxy Love"
She would easily let her voice move over her shoulder towards him as she led the way.
'Your name is actually quite unique. I don't believe I had the pleasure of meeting someone with the same name. I think my mother had a sense of humor when she named me, or was still a big fan of the 70's."
She smirked at the thought of it. May she rest where she was at.
Moving towards a pair of doors she would turn and face him with more of a smirk than a smile as she pressed against the door with her back end and held it open for him. The fresh air would sweep past her and she would take a deep breath with satisfaction that she was able to get out when she did.
"Thou when I was little they called me Roxy Poxy since I had the chicken pox. Damn spots got me laughed at until they cleared 6 months later, course that was before I spread the love with most of the class."
Her smirk crept a little more with the memory. Even back then revenge seemed so simple of a task. She was sure he had a tough childhood with his name and in so knew his pain enough not to dote about it.
"So what would be your pleasure. There is the benches over in the east corner and then you got a few picnic tables in the west corner."
She would wait for a reply before she would start on the move again.
~Roxy Love eh? I bet she likes it hard and fast. Maybe if you play your cards right you could get a quicky in the janitors closet.~ Pine's little voice remarked.
~We'll see how this goes first.~ Pine replied.
~Cautious eh? Usually I would disagree but...no sense in ruining a good thing by rushing... Still she would look pretty good-~ The voice never got a chance to finish it's statement as Pine shut it up pretty fast. Still the image Pine had in his head wasn't a bad one.
"My parents...were new age hippies...fuckers named me a-after the tree growing by the delivery room window." Pine replied in turn with the origins of his name. Still, Pine did not like to think about his good for nothing parents more than he had too. He was more interested in his siblings and wondered how they were doing often. That was the thing about being the big brother, you always worried about the little ones. Pine began to wonder if they were better off without their good for nothing gang banging brother.
When they reached the door Roxy turned to face him and opened the door with her back. Pine of course just looked outside into the courtyard ignoring her cleavage. Well trying for the most part. His eyes did not show from behind his bangs unless it was wanted. She told him about her nickname and he grinned sleepily before stepping out into the courtyard.
"Better being called that then listening to jokes about car fresheners and trees all day." Pine replied and looked around the almost empty courtyard.
"So what would be your pleasure. There is the benches over in the east corner and then you got a few picnic tables in the west corner." Roxy asked and the little voice went on another tangent.
Pleasure...The washroom, The Stall, and you on top of me...~
~Didn't I tell you to shut up?~ Pine cut the voice off before it got more explicit.
~Couldn't help it.~ The voice replied and went silent once more.
~The tables...They look the most...comfortable I guess." Pine replied and began to make his way over to the benches. He looked over his shoulder after a few steps to make sure Roxy was following.
She smirked her hands still placed within her back pockets of her jean skirt as she walked behind him. Her heeled boots sinking slightly in the ground with every step as they made their way to the tables that stood empty. It was again still halfway in the last period so the students around them would be sparse and wouldn't take notice of the two.
Clicking her tongue ring against the back of her teeth, a bad habit of hers. She took her seat not on the bench but instead on the table. Roxy smoothed the black leather corset that laid over top the white blouse that she was wearing making sure it was in place. Her favorite outfit out of most. She then rested her hands palms down on the table which made her hunch only slightly as she looked to the ground.
"So where you from? I've been around the area just a different school on the opposite side of town. It was more of a dismissal rather than a transfer. Got one more year then I'm outta here."
With a slight breeze her long strands that were too long to be bangs, swayed slightly. She took notice only to give herself hell for not pinning it back.
Turning her eyes towards Pine she straitened her spine. He seemed a bit to himself but who isn't when they are in a new place. Maybe she could bring him out but would it be for the good or the bad. One would never know until it happens of course.
When Pine turned his head to see if she was following he was greeted by a smirk. Pine's face held no return expression he just turned back around and kept walking. Had he bothered to look below her ass he might have noticed she wore heels and would have walked beside her in case she fell. Pine had seen enough women in heels lose balance from stepping into soft earth to know it was a bad combination.
A firm believer that chivalry wasn't as dead as most claimed Pine waited for Roxy to sit first. It was a good thing too because she sat herself right on top of the table and not on the bench portion. Had Pine sat on the bench first he would have ended up spending the entire time looking up at Roxy. There were obvious reasons as to why that would be a bad idea. The overly vulgar comment made by the little voice Pine chose to ignore was a good one. So instead of sitting on the bench Pine sat himself on the table top beside her with about a foot distance between them.
Roxy told him a little about herself. Apparently she attended a school on the other side of town before getting kicked out. Right now was her senior year and soon she would be gone. Now came the problem of reciprocation. Reciprocation was always hard when it came to mention of the past. Especially when it came to a troubled past and a fragile mind. There were very few things Pine would not abide and one was pity. Every social worker, prosecutor, police officer, doctor, and school official that knew Pine's story always looked at him with pity. The story only led to others trying to empathize with the situation and generally made it worse. Perhaps if he got to know Roxy well enough he would tell her the story. Until then she would have to deal with a generic answer.
"Out east...I...I...Was sent here for school. Though I am just starting high school where as you have almost finished. Funny how that works don't you think? The new always cling to the old in a manner of speaking. Yet here we both are, one just starting and one just leaving, yet both more or less in the same boat...." After Pine finished his attempt at a deep though he realized that it might have come off a little offensive.
"I um... I didn't mean old in the sense of old... You're clearly not old but I meant...I...damn. Sorry." Pine braced himself from the slap that might occur over his now botched attempt at clarification.
She laughed lightly more or so because he may be right. Ignoring the fact that he was a little vague on his past. She was ok with that. She knew that not everyone was an open book little miss sunshine over here. Her mouth seemed to chatter on more than her brain wanted to but why stop when it helps carry on a good conversation with someone a little hesitant to talk.
“No its ok you can call me old, I don’t mind, and I know what you meant. I tend to get the whole “Your too mature for your age” from everyone else anyway. Course the whole appearance change was done more or so over night so it’s a little questionable what people still think.”
She looked over at him. She wasn’t too sure if he was just rather uncomfortable sitting by her or the fact that he was shy. It seemed kinda odd when its normally the male who is out going and the female who tends to shy away. He probably had his reasons and of course her curiosity would get the best of her. But she kept it at bay for the simple fact that she didn’t wanna chase her new company away, she was easily bored when she was by herself.
“Since you were heading to the library, you like to read? When it comes to school work ima bit average but I can put a mystery novel down flat and have it done in a day. Kinda shows ya how much I prioritize. At least at my old school it was a little more challenging. Here it seems the teachers are too lax and go strait from the book. It makes it pretty simple for those just jumping in.”
She sighed a bit at the thought of her last class and how she would be able to get ahead in a week if the teacher kept going at such a slow pace.
“I actually introduced myself to a few study groups just in case. Would like a good GPA when I graduate. I’ve been looking at a few colleges but I have no interests in signing up just yet. Plan to make a tour of the world before I settle down to more studies. A girls gotta live on the edge.”
She smirked.
A new day another problem. Even though Roxy was getting used to the new school it seemed hard for her to concentrate on her school work. She thanked her lucky stars she found a study group for most of her classes in such a quick manner. She was able to work them into her schedule.
“May I be excused I have to go to the little girls room.”
“Thank you.”
~~~Roxy~~~
She smirked her hands still placed within her back pockets of her jean skirt as she walked behind him. Her heeled boots sinking slightly in the ground with every step as they made their way to the tables that stood empty. It was again still halfway in the last period so the students around them would be sparse and wouldn't take notice of the two.
Clicking her tongue ring against the back of her teeth, a bad habit of hers. She took her seat not on the bench but instead on the table. Roxy smoothed the black leather corset that laid over top the white blouse that she was wearing making sure it was in place. Her favorite outfit out of most. She then rested her hands palms down on the table which made her hunch only slightly as she looked to the ground.
"So where you from? I've been around the area just a different school on the opposite side of town. It was more of a dismissal rather than a transfer. Got one more year then I'm outta here."
With a slight breeze her long strands that were too long to be bangs, swayed slightly. She took notice only to give herself hell for not pinning it back.
Turning her eyes towards Pine she straitened her spine. He seemed a bit to himself but who isn't when they are in a new place. Maybe she could bring him out but would it be for the good or the bad. One would never know until it happens of course.

When Pine turned his head to see if she was following he was greeted by a smirk. Pine's face held no return expression he just turned back around and kept walking. Had he bothered to look below her ass he might have noticed she wore heels and would have walked beside her in case she fell. Pine had seen enough women in heels lose balance from stepping into soft earth to know it was a bad combination.
A firm believer that chivalry wasn't as dead as most claimed Pine waited for Roxy to sit first. It was a good thing too because she sat herself right on top of the table and not on the bench portion. Had Pine sat on the bench first he would have ended up spending the entire time looking up at Roxy. There were obvious reasons as to why that would be a bad idea. The overly vulgar comment made by the little voice Pine chose to ignore was a good one. So instead of sitting on the bench Pine sat himself on the table top beside her with about a foot distance between them.
Roxy told him a little about herself. Apparently she attended a school on the other side of town before getting kicked out. Right now was her senior year and soon she would be gone. Now came the problem of reciprocation. Reciprocation was always hard when it came to mention of the past. Especially when it came to a troubled past and a fragile mind. There were very few things Pine would not abide and one was pity. Every social worker, prosecutor, police officer, doctor, and school official that knew Pine's story always looked at him with pity. The story only led to others trying to empathize with the situation and generally made it worse. Perhaps if he got to know Roxy well enough he would tell her the story. Until then she would have to deal with a generic answer.
"Out east...I...I...Was sent here for school. Though I am just starting high school where as you have almost finished. Funny how that works don't you think? The new always cling to the old in a manner of speaking. Yet here we both are, one just starting and one just leaving, yet both more or less in the same boat...." After Pine finished his attempt at a deep though he realized that it might have come off a little offensive.
"I um... I didn't mean old in the sense of old... You're clearly not old but I meant...I...damn. Sorry." Pine braced himself from the slap that might occur over his now botched attempt at clarification.
~~~Roxy~~~
She laughed lightly more or so because he may be right. Ignoring the fact that he was a little vague on his past. She was ok with that. She knew that not everyone was an open book little miss sunshine over here. Her mouth seemed to chatter on more than her brain wanted to but why stop when it helps carry on a good conversation with someone a little hesitant to talk.
“No its ok you can call me old, I don’t mind, and I know what you meant. I tend to get the whole “Your too mature for your age” from everyone else anyway. Course the whole appearance change was done more or so over night so it’s a little questionable what people still think.”
She looked over at him. She wasn’t too sure if he was just rather uncomfortable sitting by her or the fact that he was shy. It seemed kinda odd when its normally the male who is out going and the female who tends to shy away. He probably had his reasons and of course her curiosity would get the best of her. But she kept it at bay for the simple fact that she didn’t wanna chase her new company away, she was easily bored when she was by herself.
“Since you were heading to the library, you like to read? When it comes to school work ima bit average but I can put a mystery novel down flat and have it done in a day. Kinda shows ya how much I prioritize. At least at my old school it was a little more challenging. Here it seems the teachers are too lax and go strait from the book. It makes it pretty simple for those just jumping in.”
She sighed a bit at the thought of her last class and how she would be able to get ahead in a week if the teacher kept going at such a slow pace.
“I actually introduced myself to a few study groups just in case. Would like a good GPA when I graduate. I’ve been looking at a few colleges but I have no interests in signing up just yet. Plan to make a tour of the world before I settle down to more studies. A girls gotta live on the edge.”
She smirked.
