"Well of course I am..." She hung her head,
"But... If they can’t handle themselves against the gangs or pillars... Then they shouldn't be here, should they? The gangs and pillars are a fact of life, there's nothing you can really do about it."

Gabriel’s fist clenched and his body went rigid. That was all just a form of surrender, everyone seemed so afraid of this Earth Dragon character it disgusted him. Perhaps he’d have to meet this character soon enough.

“You can’t live in fear, you cannot allow for this to control your life and the lives of others.” His stare was intent now, his body shaking a bit as a rush of anger built inside, not at her but towards the holocaust which had befallen this school.

“We are in control of our own destinies, I’ll be damned if I let them push their tyranny on me!”

She wanted to flinch at the way he had suddenly changed. His body went rigid and she could see his fists clenching. He was practically shaking with anger. And it scared Sara slightly, not knowing if it was directed at her or not.

“You can’t live in fear, you cannot allow for this to control your life and the lives of others...We are in control of our own destinies, I’ll be damned if I let them push their tyranny on me!”

She took a step away from him, frightened of the change in him. It was true that the pillars were corrupt, the dragon in them showing through in their cruelty, but... In some ways they were trying weren't they...? She thought about how Mathew had taken her to the nurse after knocking her out as opposed.. to say... hanging her naked from the flagpole. And Matrim... He was a pillar wasn't he? He was a good guy... It couldn't be all bad... And the gangs, as far as she knew, had never caused any problems for her. There was no reason for her to get involved in something like this. But she understood, and if he ever chose to step up...

"I'm sorry... Know though, that if you ever step up against them... I won't be fighting on their side.." There was a hidden implication there, one that she would not actively voice, but hopefully he was smart enough to know that she would fight on his side. And with that, she turned, forgetting about the rest of her papers, and walked back up the steps of the school.

He was shaking with anger, almost forgetting about Sara’s presence as he recalled what had been happening over the past week. Nothing good was coming out of it all. The Pillar’s a system designed to defeat the violence was now controlled by the Dragons, they only sense of justice they had benefitted their own needs. Furry and anger bounced about Gabriel’s head as he formulated hoping to find some way to defeat them on his own. No, they were too strong for any one man. The masses had to decide, freedom or tyranny.

"I'm sorry... Know though, that if you ever step up against them... I won't be fighting on their side.."

Gabriel looked up from his rage, emerald eyes peering out from the red mist distracting him. Sara was walking away now, for that much he could be thankful that she didn’t assume his anger was directed at her. He didn’t fully realize the hinting she gave, it made him think that she was on his side, though he’d have to believe he was on his own…for now.
