Sara knew as she stepped towards him to kick him that she had given him to much time. She saw the smile come to his face and then he pounced at her, throwing a punch into her gut. She gasped out in pain as it connected, but she saw her opening, and took it.
She immediately dropped to the ground on her back, using the force of his punch against her momentum to do so before he could strike again. Her other leg came up, her two feet coming together to meet his body over hers, abandoning the attempt at a kick. She braced her hands on the ground and pushed up with her feet as she attempted to flip him over her.

Her attempt went successful, he’d been lured into the false kick but rather than taking it as a harsh blow he went with it. Flipping over wasn’t so bad, he felt the graze of his scalp against the cement pavement as he rolled over hoping to his feet as soon as he’d tucked in. Once situated he smiled once more this time the darkness had alleviated from his features revealing a much more genial creature.
“Great move.” He burst out finally, “Great fight.”
He bounced this time forward not quite using the advantage of speed now but he feigned two quick thrusts of his right fist towards her face before upper cutting with his left. This was turning out to be interesting and Gabriel wanted to see her develop as the scene progressed.

As soon as she managed to flip him, she rolled onto her stomach, and pushed herself up to her feet. She was surprised to see that he had managed to roll out of her flip and was already on his feet. And he was smiling. That concerned her a little. No one smiled in a fight unless they were confident they could win.
“Great move...Great fight.”
His comment made Sara believe for a second that the fight was over, he was giving up, and she let her guard down for a second. But she was wrong, and it cost her. He caught her off guard with two punches as her face. She managed to dodge them, but just barely, and was caught by his upper cut. It slammed into her chin, and she was thrown back a step.
She immediately countered, bringing her upper body down low, crouching, and reached out, trying to grab onto the front of his shirt. As soon as her hand fisted in the fabric she would pull him closer to her, turning her body and throwing her right leg up at his side. She would bend her leg, tightening the muscles in it, aiming to hit him with either her knee or her thigh.
As soon as her knee would hit him, she would tug him downwards, hoping that combination of the force of her kick to his side, and the force of her pulling him would drop him to the ground, and she would follow through with her leg, letting go of him as he dropped and slam her foot down onto his chest.

He was enjoying the fight, winning and losing was not his priority he was looking for specific details, for a balance of strength, wit and speed. And the girl was displaying her fair share of it to him. His fists were working wonders for him now as they impacted on her chin. Though she didn’t give in as he hadn’t expected her to quit and for that he was glad. A grip on his shirt dragged him in closer and a kick knocked him off balance. Gabriel brought forth the elbow and landed on it hitting the bone sent chills up his spine. He wouldn’t be distracted, bringing up the left leg he’d attempt to kick her in the torso while they both remained on the floor. The girl retaliated with the same motion and he caught the impact with a clasped hand.
“Phew, close one; I know we’re getting off to a rough start but, mind telling me your name?” He asked whilst in the grappling position still struggling with his handhold, “Oh how rude of me, I’m Gabriel, Gabriel Seran…”

Sara felt a thrill of triumph as he went down, landing hard on his elbow. But it was short lived as a kick landed to her side, knocking her off balance. Her foot slammed downwards and he caught it, grasping it. She fell to the ground with him, landing on her left knee, her right foot still above him to slam into his chest.
She fell to her left side, her left hand landing on the ground to support herself as she continued to push down with her foot, while he continued to grapple with it. He was good, she would give him that. But that didn't mean she was going to lose.
“Phew, close one; I know we’re getting off to a rough start but, mind telling me your name?..Oh how rude of me, I’m Gabriel, Gabriel Seran…”
Sara was shocked. Who the hell did he think he was?! They were in the middle of a fight and he wanted to make small talk?! She glared down at him as he continued to struggle. This was getting them nowhere. She gave a grunt and answered only a single word. "Sara."
Then she collapsed her right leg, dropping it to the side so the length of her calf was along his chest. As she continued to balance herself on her left hand, she brought her right fist down, the fist aiming to smash into his face with the side of it.

"Sara." Gabriel nodded as she grunted her reply. Sara had proven that she’d not go down without a fight, her bravado was quite impressive. Exactly what he was looking for. His lip motioned as if he were to speak but before he had the chance her fist came down. The instant he shifted just enough to avoid it. His eyes glinted toward the ground at the impact point. She was strong too definitely opportunity for an allegiance though, current situation pending may not be the right time.
With the timing hopefully on Gabriel’s side he used his her position on him as leverage using his left arm to pull her into his fist as he brought a right hook up into her gut. Should it have hit the force would be magnified with the speed. After such event he would roll out and evade.

Her fist slammed downwards, and at the last second, he shifted, moving his head to the side. Her fist slammed into the concrete, the pain of it resounding up her arm. She growled out in frustration and pain. Goddamn him. The worst part? All her books and papers were probably gone. When she got her hands on him, she was going to give him one extra shot just for that.
Her head turned to look at him when his fist slammed upwards into her gut. She collapsed onto her side in pain, clutching her stomach. He rolled away from her. Her face scrunched in pain as she took this chance to catch her breath. She pulled her legs up, glaring at him, keeping her gaze on him in case he attacked.
"... Nice one... Nice hit... Ass..." She pushed herself up into a sitting position, arm still draped across her stomach, waiting for him to come at her. This time, it was his turn.

"... Nice one... Nice hit... Ass..." Gabriel smirked at Sara’s comment. They both were distanced enough away to read any incoming attacks and the attack never came. Gabriel needed the break as much as she did, he was ready to go on but indeed there were other pressing matters on his mind. He stood there observantly, his hostile possession found its resting place as he lowered his fists.
“You are an excellent fighter, I commend you for that.” He said bending over to address the fallen book lying tattered on the floor from the stumble, “I apologize for my trespasses.”
Gabriel nodded again before straightening himself up again offering a hand up to her. Would she take it as a sign of redemption or an opportunity to strike, it was a chance Gabriel was offering to take.

Sara took another deep breath, watching him closely. She had expected him to attack immediately, yet he didn't. He only stood there, smirking, watching her. She sighed, she knew when there was no point in going on. She didn't know if they were evenly matched, or if he was stronger or weaker, but she knew if they continued this fight, they were only going to end up hurting each other more then what was necessary. She was holding her own pretty well and it was obvious this fight would go on for a while if something didn't change.
“You are an excellent fighter, I commend you for that...I apologize for my trespasses.”
She watched him pick up one of her books. Those damn books. That stupid class. She shouldn't have forgotten her stuff. "No, it was my fault."
She looked at the hand he offered her, then slowly took it, tensing herself in case it was going to lead to another attack. She hoped taking his hand would be a good thing, and wondered if it would put an end to a pointless battle.
"You're... really good to." She pulled herself to her feet, and, if he hadn't attacked her, would brush herself off, turning to face him, her body angeled and tensed, wondering again if it was over.

"No, it was my fault."
Gabriel could feel the tense reaction as she took his hand, in a moment he hesitated wondering whether he should have continued, could he have won? No, everything had its purpose, its reason, it was a good fight and he wouldn’t press the matter, where they left off would be solved sometime but not here.
"You're... really good to." She pulled herself to her feet, He nodded respectfully, “Thank you, are you alright?” he asked a bit concerned as he looked over her features neglecting his own.
He had been bleeding from the bite she left on his neck and had not noticed its crimson trail down his neck. Looking past that he hadn’t appeared to be in all too bad of shape a little winded but not noticeably so.

Sara was pulled to her feet without any further incident and began brushing herself off. She was sure she had seen something in his eyes that he wanted to continue the fight on some level. Well so did she, but this wasn't the time.
“Thank you, are you alright?”
She looked at him, noticing the blood from the bite she had given him. He should worry about himself before her, but she was pleased that he had asked. "Ya, I'm ok."
She didn't bother checking herself, she knew just by how she was feeling that she was fine. She was a little sore, but nothing serious. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a napkin she had taken from the cafeteria and took a step towards him. She tentatively reached out and pushed it onto his neck. "I didn't think I had bitten you so hard... Sorry about that..."
The napkin stuck to his skin because of the blood and she took a step back. "So..." She was clearly at a loss as to what to say to him. She blushed looking away, taking a quick look around for her papers. As she thought, they were gone. The books were still there though, so that was fine. She would worry about those later though.

"Ya, I'm ok." Sara replied. Gabriel nodded in recognition; he was glad she’d taken it so well and that despite a rocky start she didn’t take it too hard. Fights meant nothing, some used them for dominance others, like Gabriel used them for tests. To see if a person was strong, loyal, even their very morals; it all came into play when one faces death, or the possibility at least.
“Good I didn’t intend to go as far as I had.” He remarked faintly as Sara edged towards him. Gabriel nearly flinched but resisted showing it, the moment came when her intention was revealed, merely covering a wound. He sighed with relief. Now he could stop worrying at least for a time, things weren’t on edge any longer.
"I didn't think I had bitten you so hard... Sorry about that..."
Gabriel laughed openly at her response, “No worries, it’s all in the past, I’m much more interested in the future.”
The napkin remained fused to the congealing blood which remained attached to his neck. The starchy surface itching at the taut part of skin.
"So..."
Gabriel massaged his head with a free hand showing a merely innocent look on his face as she turned away hiding something she didn’t want him to see. He didn’t mind in fact it gave him a moment to arrange his thoughts. What he was going to say could come to a shock to any individual. She moved about with her back to him as she collected the mess of papers as Gabriel did the same on his end.
“Sara?” He started in a calm voice, “Do you ever wonder what this place would be like without the pillars or even gangs?”

“No worries, it’s all in the past, I’m much more interested in the future.”
Sara jumped when she heard him laugh, turning to look at him. He seemed serious in what he said, and she was glad for that. Sara like fighting, she loved a tussle, but she didn't like enemies. Apparently, this wasn't going to end on a harsh note, and that was a relief. He was a good fighter, and she didn't need an enemy like him.
She heard him behind her collecting some of her stuff. She bent over, picking up what she could reach, and roughly piling them into her arms. It wasn't anything extremely important, so she didn't need to really worry about messing them up, but it would be nice if she hadn't lost any of them.
“Sara?..Do you ever wonder what this place would be like without the pillars or even gangs?”
She stopped, standing up straight. She turned her head to look behind her, her face hard. What the hell is he trying to involve me in?... She chose her words carefully.
"I don't associate with either... I've never really concerned myself over the pillars or gangs. I always chose to stay out of their affairs."

Gabriel looked up a little bothered; there was obvious concern in his eyes. It was not only for her sake but for others as well, everyone in this school system would suffer if it continued on long enough, if these tyrannical systems of control kept popping up.
“Hmm…well aren’t you concerned for those who are harmed at their hands….innocents?” He pressed on further as he stacked away the piles of mismanaged papers beneath his arm still searching for more. Though now he’d slowed and kept his emerald gaze upon her, practically begging for a reply he desired.

Sara could feel his gaze on her as she bent down and began picking up more papers. She didn't know what he was getting at, but she wasn't sure she wanted to be involved. How many times had she fought Mathew now? And she hadn't even managed to get a good punch in. Did she really think it was possible to beat him? Did she want to risk it and find out?
“Hmm…well aren’t you concerned for those who are harmed at their hands….innocents?”
She stopped picking up the papers and turned to face him. She didn't really know what to say to him. "Well of course I am..." She hung her head, distressed about what he was going to say. "But... If they cant handle themselves against the gangs or pillars... Then they shouldn't be here, should they? The gangs and pillars are a fact of life, there's nothing you can really do about it."
