Yeah that's right folks, there was a substitute in Chemistry. Mr. Rogen was out sick with the flu or something, who really cared. What mattered was that the class was headed by a seedy old woman with wiry gray hair and giant glasses that made her look like a bug.
They were in the lab today, and hardly anyone was paying attention to what she was saying. A couple kids were playing with fire, one was trying to convince the other to drink HCl, and Gwyn was hanging by the window, leaning back against the counter filing her nails. They were fire engine red today.

Why people slacked off in Chemistry, she didn't know. Chemistry was fun. Chemistry led to some fragged up stuff. Like the iodine compound she found out how to make recently. She was mixing some of it right now. That meant nothing fun was happening yet. And that was the point. It was a semi-transparent paste. Kind of thick. Viscous as the class should call it. And she tested the stuff by painting a little on the handle of a drawer while nobody was looking. Nothing. Perfect. It wasn't supposed to do shit at all right now. Had to wait for it to dry. Than it'd explode. Not harmfully. But a little touch would make it create a loud snapping noise when it dried. Half an hour from now.
She looked around, trying to figure out where it'd be best placed. Somewhere used only slightly. In this room, it likely wasn't optimal. So many bodies going around a once. They'd just win up touching a sticky liquid, getting disgusted, and walking off.
Still, she seemed to be the only one wearing safety goggles and a lab coat. Funny, considering how many idiots flung chemicals around in this class.

Haruka Yamato was late as usual. She was rolling around a small empty vial around her little side of the table, bored. She didn't really like chemistry at all. She was more into computers -- now THAT was something she interested herself in.
Keh... all this things regarding chemicals and shit; not her interest at all. "C'mon, c'mon... Drink this!"
"I know what that is, asshole." Haruka said, pointing at the flask one of their classmates was holding. "It's the thing your stomach makes every day, shut up and stop thinking I'm stupid. I'm trying to think."
Haruka was thinking of that girl from the day before, that girl she fought. She hadn't seen her in a while and it had been a good while since she had basically fought with anyone. It was... a very interesting day.
Her thoughts then trailed off when the vial rolled off and onto the floor. Of course, the old woman was furious and walked up to rail at her. Haruka sat still, looking away - slightly embarrassed. She still had a sense of shame at least.
Punishment time.
Fifteen--- no, thirty raps with a metal ruler on the hand.
Haruka flinched each time as the old lady did that to her hands. If it was any other younger teacher she'd spat something back, but this woman was old -- and she at least had some sort of asian respect for her elders.
She was raised this way.
Even as the rest of the class became silent and watched Haruka's hands become black and blue.
What would her classmates do now?

Doo dee doo dee doo....
WAIT!
Valekin had been moving around the school, just taking a brief walk, checking out the students and the classes when he passed by this room which had a complete lack of order. Kids playing with chemicals, kids eating chemicals, kids beating other kids down.
It was fun stuff, he wanted in.
So he slipped in the back way, sat down and took a few pocket items out of his.... pockets. Namely a brick of Thermite (Which he made himself), and some magnesium, and a match. He sat at a laboratory table, set the brick on the table, put the magnesium on top of the brick, struck the match, and then dropped it on the magnesium and stood back.
The thermite caught after the magnesium caught, and proceeded to melt the desk, and probably the floor. Valekin raised his hand.
-COUGH!-
"TEACHER, I MELTED MY DESK, AND AND... AND... HEE HEE.... AND THERE'S A POOL OF MOLTEN LAVA FORMING!"
He said this with a huge smile, and he almost burst out laughing halfway through it.

Looking up from her nail filing, Gwyn noticed various forms of chaos happening about the classroom. It was quite amusing, much more than the actual lesson would have been. Some girl was putting some goo on the counter handle, probably some sort of prank..Gwyn blinked, her attention drawn to the girl getting her knuckles assaulted by the sub, and the sophomore slide down the counter to her once the sub walked away.
"I would have hit back, if I were you."
The snake said to Eve. Her voice silky and wise, with a hint of defiance.
"That bitch doesn't run the classroom. I'm sure she doesn't even have a degree."
She shrugged, running the file across her nails again. Toward the back of the room, a creepy looking kid melted the desk. Sickk...this amused Gwendolyn greatly, and she laughed along with the rest of the audience he was drawing, serpentine eyes glancing to the old substitute to see what she would do. It wasn't everyday lava formed in the classroom.
