It was a fairly quiet day. He wasn't really going on about his Pillar duties, he was trying to catch up on his English homework. Meaning he had to do the required reading. Which sucked, he knew how to read and he was ok at it, he just hated it. It was so boring. He sat under one of the trees in the courtyard, thankful to have a bit of shade as he read. Flipping through the pages he would sigh. He just couldn't get in to the book. Shaking his head he set it down beside him, figuring he would take a break and get back to it.
His focus switched to watching the students around the courtyard, partly making sure no one was causing trouble, the other part just people watching. By now everyone was used to Mathew and he didn't stand out quite as much, despite the scar on his face or the dull green duster coat that he wore. It was already known what he could do, that he was more then able to hold on to his title and that he was taking his job seriously. That last bit surprised more then one of the transfers, Mathew was putting out the image of having turned over a new leaf.
Of course deep down he was still the same person. The same manipulative bastard that would do anything to get what he wanted. He was just changing his tactics a bit. He was going to try being loved rather then feared, see how that went. Well if it was possible for him, his reputation was still known, and he still did have a habit of being brutal in a fight. Still only time would tell, he would find out if he was wasting his time with this good act or if it would pay off in the end. Either way, he would find a way to use it, he always did.

((ooc: sorry for delay been under the weather lately and been on my couch rather than in my computer chair))
Roxy seemed to be the first to sprint from the classroom. Cabin fever seemed to creep up on her as the days got warmer. She wanted summer to burst forth so she could run, frolic and be free. Course saying to anyone that she wanted to frolic was a little strange but she had dignity and therefore didn’t say it out loud.
Waving to a few girls that were fast in becoming her friends she marched past her locker and made her way towards the exit. With her free period being next she thanked those who thought a student needed an hour for study. She wouldn’t study, by no means would she open a book during this time. This was more of a time for her brain to relax. To dull down from the instant fizzle it felt like doing in class.
Pushing the door open with her free arm she took a deep breath in and let it go quickly as her eyes adjusted to the bright outdoors.
“Finally..”
She said barely a whisper beyond her lips. It was more for herself than anyone in general. Looking around she saw a few people either reading, looking around or talking in clusters. Roxy being still pretty new wasn’t shy by no means but didn’t feel the need to go waltzing into a conversation at the moment, at least not with a large crowd.
Letting her eyes scan the area she came towards someone that had distanced themselves away from the crowds. He seemed to be enjoying his free time as well. Maybe she would make herself known and drop in a hello. What’s the worse that could happen? He could ignore her?
Letting her legs do the walking she walked towards him casually. His focus being on others rather than the female approaching him. She charmed in by the time she was barely a foot away.
“Hey, care to join in conversation, don’t wanna let those over there have all the fun.”
She nodded towards the cluster of students who were chatting up a storm as she smiled looking downward towards him.

Mathew looked up, his green eyes freely scanning the girl that had approached him. That was not something common. He sat alone quite often, after all despite his popularity, well if you could call it that. He had no real friends, no one he was close to. Oh there were people he trusted, trusted with his life even, Linda could watch his back any day, as could Adrian. It took him a moment to realize that she didn't want anything from him, at least not yet. Maybe she didn't even know who he was, that was a comforting thought. Most people already knew him and his reputation. They judged him before they even knew him.
"Sure, knock yourself out." He said flashing her a quick grin as he patted the spot next to him.
His eyes returned to the scene in front of him scanning to make sure there was no immediate trouble. He had found something else to do. After all, who was he to turn down a woman that wanted to converse with him.
OOC: Sorry for the short/late post. Still a bit sick myself. T_T

Thanking herself for the fact that shorts were the focus of today’s outfit. She took a seat next to him on the ground. The black pinstriped shorts were about thigh high. Not short enough to get her into trouble with school policy but high enough to satisfy her own self. Clipped onto her shorts were bright white suspenders that moved up her black blouse and over her shoulders, cris-crossing in the back. White knee high socks and a pair of loafers completed her outfit. The only color would stand to be her choppy hair that still blazed a brilliant blue.
Sitting indian style she tucked her loose blue strands behind her ear and then extended her hand. The stark white plastic bangles clicking together.
“I’m Roxy.”
Her introduction was short but the smile on her lips would be more welcoming as she directed the top half of her torso into his direction. Should they shake, her grip would be light as tend to most females of her size but her glaze would show a more confident side. She was again not shy about meeting new people.
“Just transferred in from a private school, but saying that seems a bit redundant since most I have noticed transferred in from another public school.”
She had learned about the rather abrupt closing of a highschool near here. One she almost herself went to. But even as brief as it would have been she had found herself within these walls just shortly after the other students.

He flashed her a smile, not quite warm, but certainly not cold. He allowed his eyes to scan her over, mostly checking her out then assessing a threat. He didn't really care what she thought about his openly checking her out, if she didn't like it she could leave or try and stop him. He didn't believe in being like one of those losers that blushed and stammered whenever a girl was near them. He was strong, he was confident, and he was very open with his interests. Girls just happened to be at the top of that list most times.
He took her hand in his, shaking her hand. His grip was much firmer then hers, his hands calloused from years of training and fighting. He was careful to not be to tight, he wasn't trying to crush her hand. Nodding when she introduced herself, he would do likewise.
"Mathew Amtrum." He said in an equally short introduction.
He was leaving the title out for now, if it came up then it came up. Otherwise she would find out soon enough. After all he was the Student Body President, it wasn't hard to imagine that she would know who the Pillars were by the time the week was through.
"I would be one of the public school transfers. Though it isn't that bad, I am fairly used to transferring. Honestly, it doesn't make much difference. I don't know how the private schools are, but when it comes to public school. One is more or less the same as the other."
He said with a small laugh. It was always the same thing, just different faces. Unruly student body, lazy or incompetent Pillars, and a corrupt faculty. Though without that system people like him wouldn't exist, so in a way he was thankful for it, since it helped to shape him in to who he was now.
"Which private school did you come from?" He asked, starting out with simple small talk. Seeing where the conversation would go.

Roxy dropped her hand into her lap, her fingers automatically going towards the hem of shorts to fiddle with the fabric. A bad habit of always having to move something should she be sitting still.
“Our Lady of Loretto. It was pretty strict where here it’s a lot more lax. Thou it still comes with adjustment since it was an all girls school.”
She laughed lightly keeping her eyes on Mathew, She could notice that he was very blatant of where his eyes were going. It seemed to amuse her rather then offend her.
“Imagine my surprise when my studies where lessened by quite a bit. I’m afraid I might start slacking if I don’t push myself forward just to keep up with what I have done most of my life.
“Which I might add has made my days seem more open to just sit and do nothing.”
She smiled with another light laugh. It was true she had found her nights very boring as of late. She would normally fill that time with studying or doing projects for her old school. Here she was able to get most of the work done in the day leaving her nights free. It was an odd adjustment and even thou she’s not complaining it still takes a little getting used to.

Mathew cocked his head to the right, trying to think if he had ever heard of that school. He knew he never attended since he has only been carted through the public school system. After a moment of thought he determined that he had never heard of it. A small laugh escaping his lips, he really had to do more research on stuff like that.
"Well I can't say I have heard about it. But all girl? That sounds like my kind of school." He said with a wink before letting out another small laugh. Obviously he was thinking about how epic it would be to be the only guy in an all girl school. Though he knew a few people that would instead picture Mathew in a dress attending class and trying to fit in as a girl.
"Well you know if you have to much time with the lax schedule, why not take up an extracurricular activity or something? Or get a boyfriend.... or girlfriend. Whatever you are in to." He said teasingly.
"For instance I have a full schedule, I patrol the halls to since I am a pillar. Student Body President, and I am on the Cheerleading team." He said the last part without so much as a hint of a blush. He felt no shame about it, though he didn't join for school spirit, more like a chance to get with the whole cheer squad, well the females at least.

She laughed when he would suggest that Loretto was his sort of gig. It would have been amusing to see how many girls would go chasing after him. Hell even the male staff had a hard trouble with a classroom full of estrogen and wild hormones.
Mathew did seem like a busy buddy, as he mentioned something about being a pillar, she wasn’t familiar with the position and therefore didn’t take much notice. When he mentioned the cheerleading bit she nodded. It took a lot of work and strength for it. She wouldn’t mock the position even thou she didn’t know what his intentions were towards it.
“I thought about the extracurricular but I haven’t found my nitch yet. But Im sure I’ll figure something out. If not I could take your advice and go scouting for a boyfriend to keep me company.”
She laughed as she continued to fiddle with the hem of her shorts. Her eyes scanning over towards the group in front of them as well as the rest of the courtyard.
“Class President. Hmm must be pretty hard work. Glad I’m not in your shoes.”
Roxy tilted her head slightly to look towards Mathew.
“I don’t have much patience for anything that has an inkling to do with politics or leading anyone. Specially a bunch of students.”
She shook her head with another giggle.
“I’m sure if it came down to it, I would try to run from it rather than doing anything helpful. I would rather spend my senior year without responsibilities since I know after I grad that’s what I’m going to be stuck with lol. Real life.. Just waiting to smack ya right in the face.”
