OOC: This thread is only for the following: Linda, Jester, Matrim, Adrian, Patrick and Kate. Thanks!
The torch had been passed. Mathew had quit the gang, at least that's what Kate was about to tell everyone else. Not only that, but she had been chosen to "guide" the Reapers in the area into something greater. Kate wasn't the strongest, or the toughest or anything of the sort in the gang. Hardly, she was probably one of the weakest, however if there was one thing Kate McHallin did know, she knew how to run a gang. Linda had helped her with that one.
They needed to get stronger. They needed to get tougher. They needed more members. They needed better power. They needed to bend this school, this area to their will.
So Kate had bought a high rise club, high end sort of thing. Hidden back behind the walls of the club was the area that they would be meeting in. She had left notes in lockers, asking the five other members in the area to meet her here. Kate was dressed for the club, cute black dress with a silver belt. She was sitting on a couch under purple lighting sipping at a glass of water.
The bouncers, who were her men at the time, had been given pictures of the people allowed in. Anyone other then those people, even with the notes were to be detained for Kate to question later that night. Simple as that.
And so she waited.

A meeting? Great. Patrick had to go. Not going was the equivilant to deserting, which in itself was a form of treason. Damn. The last thing Patrick wanted to do was go and relate to a whole bunch of people he didn't want to know, much less do things that were slightly less then legal. But what the hell? He hadn't seen any reason why he shouldn't when he joined. Either way it seemed like a good way to fill the space in between instead of drinking. That and it distracted him from the pain. The pain that he got from being alive. This was merely a distraction and a veiled threat against those who would mess with him. Sure he had to do things in the gang which sucked but at least once the ball got rolling they would not, the city, dare to mess with him as his and the gangs reputation grew.
Patrick walked to the club with a scowl on his face. He was angry and sure as hell would let others know. Angry at the moment though? Maybe, maybe not. Did it really matter? No, least not to Patrick. Others could think what they wanted of him and he didn't really care. Anti social? absolutly. As he walked to the first bouncer to be let in he could see it. The wheels turning in the guards head. Patrick didn't even give him time to think it through. In a gruff voice Patrick said, "Get the hell outta me way before I break yer arm."
The guard gave a step in to protect the door before realizing who Patrick was. He was one of the names on the list, one of the faces in the pictures that was allowable to be let through. The guard quickly steped to the side so Patrick's threat would be left unanswered. It's not that the guard didn't believe him or think that he couldnt stop Patrick, its just that he knew that this was trouble that could be avoided so it should. The Irish teen walked by and through the club passing a few more guards by and finally making his way into the room where the leader was.
Patrick's initial reactions were none to special. He wasn't impressed. No really reason other then being antisocial probably, or that he just wasn't one that was too easily suorised or excited. The Irish man knew what a club looked like, he had worked a few before, as a bouncer, and whatever he really needed to be at the time. You know, odd jobs, put food on the table, pass time.
Patrick was wearing his usual outfit for the occasion, he hadn't felt the need to impress anyone. He had a suit, and a nice one at that in his truck but that wasn't worn too much these days, or hardly at all. Today he wore the usual white bandanna tied around his head, keeping his red hair out of his green eyes. In the light that he was standing his scar that ran down the right side of his face, bisecting his eye was easily visible adding to the image brought forth by the rest of his clothing. This included a black tanktop that revealed the ends of the wing scars that were carved into his back from older days in New York. On his legs were a pair of khaki cargo pants and of course to complete the look Patrick wore his black fingerless gloves that had those knuckle holes. Also it was safe to say that Patrick his alcohol on his breath, though he was completely in the picture here.
His first words of the evening here were, "What the hell's going on?"

Matrim go the note in the locker, and he stared at it for quite some time. He kept staring, almost trying to set the piece of paper on fire with flames except that he wouldn't. He just couldn't work out something, something didn't seem right to him, "Why the hell do they assume I check my locker on a regular business?" He asked.
After all, Matrim carried all his books with him at all times, and for the most part spent his time sleeping. Hardly the type to check his locker on a regular basis.
"I wonder how long the notes to fight Olesya had been in my old one....." He said, and shrugged.
That night he dressed in jeans, motorcycle boots, and his hooded leather jacket. He made his way to the club on his motorcycle, and when he finally got there he made his way to the meeting place. His face was clear to see, so the guards didn't stop him or have a problem with him. Why should they since they had his picture? Besides, he was confident that he could take those guys out anyway. Kate didn't seem the type to keep muscle around that was stronger then her only to stick them on guard duty.
No, the real guns, the big guns, were the reapers themselves.
And for the first time, I'll see their faces. I'll know who they are. Although I could really give a crap.....

The ants come marching in by two hurrah...
The childhood song came to mind as she saw the first two enter the room. The first one was the drunken bum she had met on the rooftop of the school. He had tried to cut her. Fucker. The second was Matrim, her friend of sorts. They were both not dressed for the club, and it made Kate want to growl under her breath. They needed to at least APPEAR to blend in. She didn't want everyone and their mommas knowing where the Reapers were tangoing. She sipped again at her water even as the bum yelled at her. What was his name again? Oh yes, Patrick.
"Well Patrick, there is no need to yell."
She gave him a smile that suggested he had BETTER stop yelling or else some bad things just might happen. Her smile warmed for Matrim, nodding at him slightly to show she had saw him enter.
"It's very simple. The Reapers are going to start moving as a group in the area instead of single entities with all sorts of power at their disposal, and no goal to shove it at. The staff left us plenty to snack on and drink, so help yourself."
She waved a hand at the bar.

I walk beside you- wherever you are- Whatever it takes- No matter how far. Through all that may come- and all that may go- I walk beside you.
The boombox would play this song as I entered the room, the hefty machine propped up on my shoulder. My grin was curved as my eyes glanced around to see who was in attendance- my fellow Pillar, Patrick, and of course, Kate- or as Terry Goodkind would kindly say- the Whore Queen.
The two men would not understand the significance of the Dream Theater song, but Kate and I however, would. It was the very song Damien had won Kate's heart with the night she saw The Grin play in New York. Ah, such old, sweet times.
"Well well, how are we all doing tonight?" I asked cheerily, the tape recorder in my jacket recording everything. My Qi prevented the sound waves of I Walk Beside You from reaching the recorder, thus creating the perfect final product. "So, business or pleasure tonight?"
I spotted the bar. Fuck the music. I needed strong drink.
I shut off the boombox, set it on the ground, and gave Kate a wink. "Still a beautiful song, huh? I prefer the live version though, don't you agree deary?" I made my way to the bar, delighted as all hell to find Hypnotiq. The half-full Amp in my hand would provide all the fixings for my specialty beverage- the RKO- named after the finishing maneuver of Randy Orton, former WWE Champion. Taking a glass, I filled it with 2/3 Hypnotiq and 1/3 Amp, stirred it with my finger, and sipped, awaiting the business at hand.

Patrick huh.... and that's Jester coming in with the boom box.....
"It's very simple. The Reapers are going to start moving as a group in the area instead of single entities with all sorts of power at their disposal, and no goal to shove it at. The staff left us plenty to snack on and drink, so help yourself."
So we're..... going to do what? And if somebody says 'what we want when we want' I'm going to cap somebody....
"Well well, how are we all doing tonight? So, business or pleasure tonight?" Jester said, and he turned his boom box off, making his way over to the bar. Matrim followed and joined him. But while Jester was mixing his drink, Matrim simply put a few ice cubes in a small glass and poured himself some whiskey. He walked over and took a seat in one of the chairs, getting a little more comfortable, "Still a beautiful song, huh? I prefer the live version though, don't you agree deary?"
"Nice to see a bright and smiling face," Matrim said to Jester, not exactly commenting on anything other then the fact that Jester seemed to be enjoying himself. He remembered that little video Jester put out, and what was said about Kate in there. He expected to see pillars in this gang, but he didn't expect that Jester and Kate had something in common such as this. "So, we're doing what we want, when we want, on a city wide scale? And in teams no less... Kinda makes me wonder who I'm going to be paired up with."
Why do I get that feeling it's going to be with Jester....
"Of course, slim pickens in this crowd," Matrim said looking at the two who were there besides himself and Kate, "I suppose we're waiting on more people to show?"

"Lord knows you can't really start the party without me," Adrian would say, walking in through the back door, opposite the way everyone else had gotten here. The reason? He had come with Kate, he just was in the back taking a leak.
Adrian popped the door open and leaned against the doorframe for a moment, decked out rather modestly for his usual standpoint, wearing a regular pair of jeans and a tight black Volcom tee. He wasn't usually into skate brands, but, and he'd never admit this to anyone, he found the shirt on sale at Pac-Sun the other day, and due to his current condition, he'd have to abide however he could. His eyes scanned over the crowd, taking in the existence of the Reapers whose named weren't Kate McHallin or Mathew Amtrum for the first time. He saw Matrim, which intrigued him, and the Jester, which brought a scowl to his lips, thankfully while the boy's back was turned as he mixed himself a drink. The other boy's name and appearance was unknown to Adrian, so he regarded him with the usual disinterest he reserved for people who fit that category with him.
He'd heard Kate's opening statements, and she knew he would have, since she was aware of his position in the first place.
"And I know you're all just chomping at the bit to be paired with me, but please, don't everyone volunteer at once." Adrian smirked and reached into his pocket, pulling out a package of Rain-flavored 5 Gum, and unwrapping a piece before sticking it in his mouth. He'd casually sweep the package across the crowd, silently asking anyone if they cared for one, though likely not since everyone save Kate was drinking, and everyone knew booze and gum didn't particularly mix. Afterwards, he'd remove himself from the back doorframe and come to a seat at the bar, fairly near to Jester, giving him a genial nod as he sat down.
Of course, anger burned in Adrian's mind at the way Damien had treated Kate, but if there was one thing the Business brat had picked up from his family, it was being able to despise someone while easily smiling and joking to their face.

She looked up to see Jester come in. He was really trying to press all her buttons. Really he was. It wasn't cool in the least bit. The blonde remained cool, at least in the face. She wouldn't let the bastard get to her, at least not let him know about it. She arched an eyebrow as Adrian came in.
"Well, I think we can start now. After of course, I handle one thing..."
The blonde stood and walked over to where Jester was standing. He was Jester and not Damien. Kate knew that at this point. The pale girl waited until he turned around from making his drink. Her hand was held out.
"The tape recorder. Hand it over. Nothing here is going to be recorded Jester. I won't break it, but it's not going to be recording anything until we're done. If you don't like it, there's the door."
One finger pointed just past Adrian, where he had just walked in. Her emerald eyes looked around to all of them, saying that this was going to go for everyone. Nothing of that sort was going to happen under her watch.
"And as soon as Mr.Kross hands it over, we'll begin with the meeting and handle everyone's concerns."

"Hehehe, any other day lovely, I'd comply... But, no recorder on me today." I smiled, taking a sip of my drink. "I had a pretty good feeling you'd try to do somethin' like this, so I left it at home. Afterall, with all it's done to you, you'd break it regardless of what you say." I cocked my head. "And if you don't believe me, you can gimme a good frisking to find out."
Damn, I played it off well... Sure, the tape recorder was inside my pants pocket, but I had no intention of using it. I doubted that anything said here would have been worth using... Afterall, I was a Reaper. Spreading shit about them would just bring it right back to me, and that is no bueno.
The way she spoke verified for me my suspicion that she truly believed in me now. She knew at last that is wasn't Damien... There was another causing all the pain and sorrow. Business is good.

Matrim had learned more in five minutes then he felt that he would in a life time. For instance that he was surrounded by Reapers and didn't know it. Especially the fact that his football captain and cheerleading captain were both Reapers. And that Jester was one... totally shocking news there.... totally unpredictable.... know way anybody could guess he'd be one. [/sarcasm]
Kate, Jester, Adrian, Patrick, and myself. That makes five, one of which is strong enough to be pillar, another of which is at least skilled enough to beat me while I'm crippled, and another one strong enough to keep me on my toes. Good turn out, wonder which one of these guys is going to be my partner still.....
"The tape recorder. Hand it over. Nothing here is going to be recorded Jester. I won't break it, but it's not going to be recording anything until we're done. If you don't like it, there's the door." Kate said, and Matrim's eyes went wide.
So that's how he does it... The weekly whammy...
"Hehehe, any other day lovely, I'd comply... But, no recorder on me today. I had a pretty good feeling you'd try to do somethin' like this, so I left it at home. Afterall, with all it's done to you, you'd break it regardless of what you say. And if you don't believe me, you can gimme a good frisking to find out." Jester said, and Matrim couldn't help but wonder if that was a lie. It was hard to tell with Jester, he was not a sane man, and insane men were hard to read at times.
"I think he just wants you to touch him," Matrim said casually as he drank his whiskey and shrugged, "I wouldn't give him the satisfaction if it were me."
I just want to know who my partner is already, thankfully the alcohol is helping me keep calm about it.
Matrim nodded over at Adrian to acknowledge that he had entered. He was considering the possibilities of working with Adrian. He had fought Adrian, he was a puncher, a close ranged type fighter same as Kate. What Matrim really needed was a long ranged or medium ranged fighter, because Matrim could accidentally burn a partner who was close up in fighting scenarios.

"If you want, I could kick him around a bit until I hear one break or not," Adrian offered, the smirk on his face making it appear that he was joking, but he didn't really care one way or the other if Jester bothered to look through the joke to see the truth behind his words. Even if he did, nothing would be started here. This was business, that was personal.
Hell, everything was personal, but at least here, he could deal with him for now. If he had to. He guessed.
Adrian caught Matrim nodding, and returned the nod, giving a little grin in reply. "Sup, Maych," Adrian said, shorting Matrim's name but keeping the usual pronunciation of the 't' in his full name. His eyes returned to Kate, kind of wanting to go over there and plant one on her just to see how Damien would react, but once again, decided to keep his business face on.
"Well, Kate, it's up to you, I suppose. Start us up, if he doesn't have anything." Of course, Adrian believed Jester. There wasn't any reason to lie about it, was there?

The blonde looked at Jester for a few moments, the slightest little twitch of her lips giving away her indecision about whether or not he had the damned thing on him. She sighed just slightly, and backed off. Her hand dropped and she looked around at the people who had gathered here. No Linda, but that was almost expected. Mathew... well, that was about to be explained.
"First order of business is to tell you that Mathew has not only left the gang, but from what I can tell, dropped off the face of the planet. I don't know exactly where he is, or what is going on... but he is no longer a Reaper."
That would be the worst bit of news. The blonde had a feeling that everyone would react to that in some way, and she was ready for some people to say they wanted to quit. She was hoping that they wouldn't however. Their band of merry "men" was rather... small. It didn't need to get smaller in the least bit.
"In short terms, if you can't tell, I was selected to guide our little group. Not exactly be the leader, just point us in the right direction and make sure we get there sort of thing."
Which was what she was going to do. As soon as they digested that tidbit of information.

"And so, what did you have in mind, Empress McHallin?" I said, leaning on the bar. "Shoot some commies? Burn down an orphanage?" I gave her a sly smile, knowing it would get to her a bit.
I really was curious as to what her definition of the 'right direction' was... The Reapers have done absolutely nothing, so having a new guidance counselor gave this group a chance of doing something...
But it was times like these that I wondered what the fuck I was doing here... Kate as a leader, her bitch Adrian as an enforcer... Oh boy, this place was a fucking world of giggles... At least Matrim was there to help me keep my sanity...

"Shoot some commies? Burn down an orphanage?" Jester suggested, it seemed as though he was kidding. At least, Matrim hoped he was kidding... In any case Matrim had a clever retort to that anyway.
"Nah, it sounds too Gabriel-ish, he's more of the arson no matter what my Qi may imply," Matrim said with a laugh as he drank from his glass. He thought about what Kate was suggesting, her being the leader. Matrim held back his laughter. The thought of someone like Kate leading him and giving him direction? It was a joke. She had yet to best him in a fight yet, and if things went the way he thought that they would, she would never get the chance to.
"But I'm just as curious as Jester," Matrim said, looking around, "What exactly is it that Reapers do besides whatever the fuck we want? It's not like there's been a bigger picture, or even a snapshot, hell not even a camera phone pic of a plan. It's pretty much just been the secret society of laziness. All the while you got known members of Militia lighting lawns on fire."

Adrian listened as Kate divulged Mathew's disappearance, which seemed to come to no great shock to anyone. Adrian, as it were, was likely the least bit surprised to hear it, as Mathew himself had told him beforehand, just before he gave him the coat and arms he had worn so proudly before-hand. Indeed, it would seem that Adrian was to become the next Earth Dragon in Mathew's stead, and the boy was steadily working up to be considered deservant of the title.
Jester popped out another sarcastic remark, to which Adrian sneered openly at. It wasn't funny, or even clever. It was just annoying, and Adrian didn't have the patience for that from someone who slandered his girlfriend over the entire school. But whatever, he promised himself he'd be civil today, and so he would be civil. Matrim spoke up, echoing Jester's sentiments of wondering what exactly the Reapers were going to be doing. Adrian wouldn't have anything else he could say that wouldn't just be parroting these two, so he kept his mouth shut and his eyes on the de facto leader of the Reapers, Kate McHallin.
As much as he liked Kate, Adrian still wasn't sure what he thought about her being the new leader. She was certainly qualified, Adrian couldn't doubt that, and had the drive and the ambition to do things with the gang, but, regardless, Adrian had become fairly close friends with Mathew before the split. He could tell the boy had great things in mind with the gang, and Adrian couldn't help but wonder if Kate could fit into the shoes he'd left her.
