The time was simple, it was during lunch. Travis wasn't all that hungry, having ate a pretty damn big breakfast this morning. He was currently outside, in the courtyard. His back rested against the rough bark of one of the tree's lining the landscape. His head tilted backwards as those icy blue orbs glanced up into the sky. He was rather peaceful today. It hadn't been stressful at all, and that was kind of surprising. Normally at least one person pissed him off. It seemed like he had gotten a break today. And that was good, because all he really wanted to do was rest.
Of course he wasn't really sure just how long this peace would last. In Travis' mind this school wasn't nearly as dangerous as the others he had been in. At least not yet. But who knew when that kind of situation would change. The pillar system was bound to make problems with the students, but Travis couldn't exactly say he cared about that kind of thing. Those positions were nothing of importance. It wasn't really something he was after. Though he knew he'd get plenty of action if he took a title.. Still. It was far more work then it was really worth.
Instead, Travis would much rather lounge around like he was currently doing today. He had been going over a lot of different things in his head as he sat underneath that tree. His mind wandered to his girlfriend, and the other people he knew. That was a problem though, because Travis was usually something of a loner. He had never really had too many friends, and it was probably due to the fact that most people looked at him as if he was some kind of crazy dude who would try and stomp you if you made the wrong move. Truth be told, it was only like that if he was in a bad mood.
Maybe today he'd try something different while he was in the mood..

Emily on the other hand, was on the other side of the same tree, eating her lunch -- a nice lunchbox filled with rice and curry. The Janitors at the canteen were nice enough to have it microwaved and now she was going to eat something warm and toasty. She was in very high spirits, and despite all the stresses of High School life, was living through without much of a problem.
Her time as HSN and as the School Captain was short, but Emily didn't see herself trying to win back the title. She found some level of confidence in Linda, the bone dragon, and was watching her and the rest of the hierarchy carefully. She had hoped, that the dragons would at least make their rule done with the least blood as possible.
Only until then, Emily would be here, watching.
She was carefree now, and was under this nice tree eating lunch. "Itadakimasu!" She said, taking out a spoon and starting to eat.
She heard some shifting from behind her side of the tree, and noticed an unfamiliar lad taking a rest as well. "Sorry if I'm being loud."
Being the apologetic girl that she is, don't be so surprised.

Itadakimasu!
Travis heard it from somewhere behind him. Immediately his mind began to process what was said. It was out of habit, due to the fact that he had spent some time in Japan with his uncle. Unfortunately his mind was blank. He hadn't kept up with the language, and maybe it was due to the fact that he just wasn't good with that kind of thing. But hearing someone speak it piqued his interest slightly. He'd glance around the side of the tree, and there sat a female resting in the shade just as he was.
Sorry if I'm being loud.
"Don't apologize. It's not like you screamed in my ear.."
Travis' icy blues would glance down at the food she was eating, and then he'd turn his head and stare back in the other direction. He wasn't always comfortable around people he didn't know. But occasionally he took a chance and things turned out well. It happened with Sara, and now he couldn't be happier. Maybe he could try to befriend the girl near by. It never hurt to have people to talk to, and Travis could definitely use some other company.
"How are you doing today?"

"Don't apologize. It's not like you screamed in my ear.." Emily smiled. It was interesting how friendly people were here in PHS42. Some guys back at 259 were downright violent.
Then again, the girl didn't know that Travis was a 259 transfer as well. Of course, as they say: "Ignorance is bliss."
"How are you doing today?" Emily's head turned towards the young man, her chopsticks on her mouth. She smiled a bit, excusing herself for a second to chew and swallow her food before replying.
"Ah, I'm quite well. Yourself?"
... Yeah, just plain ol' good chit-chat.
"Name's Emily." She introduced herself, looking at the young man with a smile before turning back onto her meal. She wasn't a glutton or anything, she was just so goddamned hungry ... and this Curry was going to go cold real fast.

Ah, I'm quite well. Yourself?
"I actually feel really good right now."
Travis didn't really know if the girl nearby even cared about anything he said. Maybe he only thought this way though, because it was how he looked at other people most of the time. He was just being negative, he guessed. Travis noted this, and he'd try to change a little bit. He loved what he did now, he loved fighting just to fight, and dealing with his girlfriend. But even with her, he felt lonely. Everyone needed friends.
Name's Emily.
"Travis."
He would cock a little smile, though it would fade pretty quickly as those icy blues glanced around the campus once again, and then back up toward the lightly clouded sky. Small talk wasn't usually his thing. Normally he talked to strangers by punching them in the face or something a long those lines. But this time, he wasn't going to throw any fists. After all, the girl hadn't done anything to annoy him yet. She was enjoying her lunch, and he just happened to be near by.
"Say, How long have you been going to this school, Emily?"

"Say, How long have you been going to this school, Emily?" Emily was finished with a small bite of a potato when he asked this question.
"I think... about a month and two weeks." She said, though one could probably put in the hypothesis that she was a transfer (which she undoubtedly was), she was enrolled here before everyone else. She left for San Francisco weeks before the unfortunate earthquake, and it was... kind of disheartening for the Filipina. She loved that school with all her heart, and now she had to leave it for this.
Then again, PHS42 was indeed looking to be a particularly peaceful environment as compared to PHS259. She felt as if she could love this school, and yet -- felt some sort of attachment to 259, slightly clinging to the hope that she could one day return. Even for just a visit.
"I'm going to hazard a guess and say you're from PHS259 as well, ... am I mistaken?"
Well, he had an aura around him similar to those who came from that school. He certainly didn't seem to be one of those pushover types, and certainly was acting nicer than those tough-guy types...
...even if he really did look like it.
Who was she to judge? She, herself, looked like someone one can break by just a little slap. In reality, she wasn't really all that frail.

I think... about a month and two weeks.
Hmm.. She's only been here a bit longer then I have..
Travis would let that mind wander back to his former school, as far as he knew, he couldn't ever recall seeing this girl. So he kind of doubted that she was from the school he had transferred from. Then again, a lot of people had transferred to this place when Travis had never expected them to. David Blaze was here, Mathew Amtrum, Linda. The list could go on for sure, including his girlfriend. Soon enough though, the girl would speak again.
I'm going to hazard a guess and say you're from PHS259 as well, ... am I mistaken?
Travis was slightly stunned that she picked that up so easily. Did he have it stamped on his forehead or something? She was right of course, he had transferred here due to the earthquake. He wasn't quite sure how this female had picked up on something like this, unless she was.. stalking him or something like that. Maybe she was! Nah.. He wasn't really known. It didn't make sense at all. Unless she was in love with a stranger? Travis would turn his head back toward her, and those lips would move.
"Uhh.. Yeah, actually I was. You said 'as well'.. Does that mean you went there also?"

"Uhh.. Yeah, actually I was. You said 'as well'.. Does that mean you went there also?"
Emily nodded, continuing her meal. She was silent until she gulped down her mouthful. "Mhm... I was from 259 too."
She looked at her food and began packing. Emily was beginning to feel full and of course, she wouldn't indulge herself any further. "Sorry if I took a guess. You seem to have an aura of someone from one of the most violent schools in California. Kinda unfortunate it had to go so quickly."
Emily began tying her lunchbox in a japanse fashion with a handkerchef. Old habits die hard, she had been doing this since she was 9. And there was nothing wrong with a bit of international culture. "How is PHS 42 for you so far then, Travis?"

Mhm... I was from 259 too.
Hmm.. I've never seen her before.. I wonder how many other people are here that I don't know of..
Travis would never had guessed from the looks of her that she could have survived at 259. But then again, he knew from experience that most of the time that looks were decieving. Most people that Travis had gotten into it with never really came off as weak as they looked. Others didn't seem nearly strong enough for how they looked. Travis was no difference. Considering the strength he could manage to throw into his attacks, he didn't look the part of someone strong enough to rip a hole in the wall.
Sorry if I took a guess. You seem to have an aura of someone from one of the most violent schools in California. Kinda unfortunate it had to go so quickly.
"I guess. I never really cared about the place all that much.."
Travis almost let out a little sigh. Really, he had never been attached to 259. It had been fun at times though. Mainly due to that fact that it was so violent. That was one of the few things that Travis really liked about that place. He could let off steam and not have to worry too much about consequences due to the fact that there was so much violence there in the first place. Compared to 259, 42 seemed like a walk in the park so far.
How is PHS 42 for you so far then, Travis?
"Eh.. Kinda boring. I'm use to the chaos.. If there is one thing I miss, it's the violence.."

"I guess. I never really cared about the place all that much.."
Emily frowned. She loved 259, and she couldn't see just why.
But she kept quiet, save for a little "I see."
"Eh.. Kinda boring. I'm use to the chaos.. If there is one thing I miss, it's the violence.." Heh. Emily was right all along. He really does have an aura of a fighter -- she could tell. She had seen a good number of them.
"Well, yeah..." She said, standing up. "Forty-two isn't exactly PHS 259 in that aspect huh?"
Thinking about that, Emily found some truth in what she just had said. Well, 259 was quite violent in itself. 42 was Peaceful, in contrast.
Emily was the kind of girl who looked like she could fit right in. But PHS42 was--...
Too peaceful, actually. Kinda had Emily off-guard, there. Did you, 42? "If it was violence you're looking for, you could probably ask for a fight or something." She pointed to the tough looking students who happened to pass by, "They look tough enough. What do you think?"
Trying to resist your own urges of violence, Eh ...Emily?

If it was violence you're looking for, you could probably ask for a fight or something. They look tough enough. What do you think?
"Heh.. Looking tough, and being tough are two very different things."
Travis' head would turn to glance toward the female who had called herself Emily. She didn't really look the part of someone who had attended 259. But it was obvious that she had. And if she really had, then she had to be tougher then she looked. 259 had a way of turning even in the weakest of students into someone who learned to defend themselves. Otherwise, if Emily hadn't been tough, she wouldn't have made it here in the shape she was in.
"I'd much rather.. Fight you."
Travis would curl forward slightly, and then lift himself to his feet. He wasn't sure how the female would respond, or even if this would end up being worth it. But he needed to sedate the boredom. He wasn't in a horrible mood or anything like that. So he wouldn't blow things out of proportion. She wasn't going to get hurt. But he definitely wanted to fight her. Turning, Travis would face the girl, and that smirk would cross his face once again.
"How does that sound?"

"Heh.. Looking tough, and being tough are two very different things." Emily laughed. Of course, of course.
"Yes, yes." she said, smiling towards Travis, "That's usually the case."
"I'd much rather.. Fight you." Emily's eyebrows rose as Travis went to what looked to be an offensive stance. This was an official challenge? For what? Nothing, just plain, old, good violence fun. "How does that sound?"
Emily smiled, though not a smirk or any sort that seemed smug. That wasn't in her system -- most of the time. "Me?" she asked, dropping her lunchbox to the floor and taking her fans from her belt. "I don't look tough now, do I? I'll take that as a compliment and say I'm all for it."

"You were once a 259er. You have to be tough.. Otherwise I think I'll be disappointed.."
Travis would give a small chuckle after she spoke. And he would watch as the girl pulled two fans from her belt. He wasn't exactly sure what those were meant for, but he assumed she fought with him. That was definitely interest, because Travis had never seen a style that incorporated fans, himself. He'd take a single large, deep breath and he'd exhale. Upon sucking in more air, Travis would give a sudden jolt forward, eyes locked upon the female as he moved forward.
Travis had no way of knowing exactly how this girl fought, and he knew that he'd have to play it safe for a little bit anyways, at least until he could get a better sense of her style and learn to exploit it. Once the distance was cleared, Travis' left leg would plant, leading as he'd send a quick open palmed strike toward the female's midsection.

As soon as Travis shot forward, Emily's foot slid backward as to raise her Center of Balance. She didn't know what to expect, other than the palm to her stomach.
He was going to play dirty and exploit her handicap of having just eaten. The meanie.
Emily made a quick evasion, trying to pull her body to the right so that he would be missing her stomach and his hand would only brush against her stomach. Her left hand would grab him by the wrist, gripping him tightly as to hold him in place as her right hand would would quickly try to do a hard horizontal slash for the back of Travis's neck. While that hit may not incapacitate him, it would more or less likely put him either in a state of confusion and loss of balance for a while.
Then Emily would pull her right leg up and shot a straight kick forward onto his floating ribs, hopefully send him to either the ground doubling over or flying away. Either way, she would let go and try to back off quickly.
Something tells her this guy was going to remind her of a certain female's strength.

See, Travis believed he was a fighter in all aspects. He could fight from any position, and do well at it. And when the girl moved slightly to her right, Travis' initial strike would only graze her, and the girl's left hand would grasp his wrist. It was at this instant that he'd act, suddenly bending his knees and dropping into a crouch, as the right arm which had been grasped would have given a sudden jerk downward and pulled backwards to rip himself from her fingers. And as he did this, his left side would have slide forward slightly, and Travis would aim to slam his left shoulder against the females' pelvis, while his right hand would slide between her legs, at knee level.
If he managed to get that far, his arm would lift and hook up against her backside. No, Travis wasn't looking to grope the girl, though it might seem a big odd that he had his arm between her legs. Travis' knees would spring upward slightly as he'd look to hoist the girl upward and into the air, her body resting upon his shoulder, though it would only be for a split second, as he'd turn slightly toward his right, and then aim to toss the girl from his shoulders. Travis planned to toss her in such a way that when he release, he'd be sending the girl's legs over her head. It all happened rather smoothly, as if he had wanted her to do exactly what she had done.
If the girl didn't correct herself, it was likely she'd land on her head. And if she happened to land on her feet, Travis had something planned in that case as well. It would be interesting to see if he'd actually get to pull the next part of his plan off. It all depended on Emily here, though.
