Max decided he was going to skip class today. He had nothing better to do for he already had a 110 % in his math class. It was is best subject so he didn’t feel like going. He wondered where would be a good place though. He decided he would go to the beach. It seemed to be a nice enough place to go on a sunny day like this. Max had on his board shorts anyways because that was all he had left. He had to do laundry still. Quickly Max grabbed a ride with some stranger and was dropped off at the beach. It was beautiful and the waves were crashing just right. Max saw a board rental store and rented a board. He grabbed it and too off towards the water. He set down the board took off his shoes and shirts and went right in. The water was warm. Max paddled out a waited for a wave. When one finally came he started to paddle back. He caught it and rode it all the way in. When he got to the shore he swam back out again. There he waited for the next wave.

Running. Something Ethan did quite well, and for a very long time. Nothing was better meditation than constantly moving nowhere but everywhere, trying to go where most others couldn't as fast as you could. Ethan honed his body like any other person who fought for their existence daily at 42, and he would need to improve his strength for the work that lay ahead of him; indeed, he would need much greater power than what he had now for the bloody cleansing that was to come.
Wearing only his black-shirt with his black pants and shoes as opposed to having his jacket, Ethan ran past various other people, suddenly swerving and ducking into a narrow back-alley. Gaining in speed, Ethan jumped up, ran along the left wall, then kicked off it and vaulted onto a stair-well on the opposite side, scaling it to reach the rooftop with the dexterity and efficency of a fox.
Up on the roofs, Ethan had a magnificient view of one of the local beaches in town, basking in the glow of the bright golden sun. Despite its many shortcomings, San Francisco certainly had its beautiful areas during some parts of the day.
Eventually Ethan made his way down to the beach itself, slowing to a walk near the water. Even though the setting was serene and everyone around him was happy, Ethan brooded alone as he usually always did. Not that anything in particular bothered him, only that he hated the school he'd been sent to. Of course, that wouldn't exactly be a hinderance for the day he wrought its ruin, but that didn't make things any better. Fighting, cheating, lying, abuse, violence... there were no redeeming features of anyone else there. They were all scum.
The worst were the ones who held the power of their own Qi. They could do virtually anything with their gifts, and yet they thought of nothing but their own petty squabblings and drama. They were useless. They would someday be used for someone else's purposes since they had none of their own. Better that they should die and not be used as a force to prevent His coming like what happened last time.
So lost in his thoughts was Ethan that he didn't notice the large wave coming to hit him, or the person riding it.

(OOC got permission)
Max finally caught the most magnificent wave. It was huge and there was no way that Max would miss it. He swam towards shore. Paddling as hard as he could to get the wave. He did but just barely. Max stood up on his board and was riding the wave like a king, the king of sucking at surfing. He was horrible at it. The only thing he could do was stand on the damn thing. It wasn’t like it was hard but it was he just couldn’t move the board. Max was riding it and noticed he was heading straight for a boy and had no way of getting out of the way. Max tried to yell for him to move but the sounds of the wave crashing would make it impossible to hear him. Time to brace for impact.
*SMACK*
Max hit the kid and was flung off the board. Max hit the ground and rolled. He was now all sandy but he quickly stood up and ran for the kid. He seemed to of fallen.
“Are you all right? I’m so sorry.

It was only until he noticed other people hustling to get out of the way and the large sihoutte of a shadow looming over him that Ethan saw he was going to get hit by a massive wave.
Where did that come from? he wondered as he started sprinting towards the other side of the beach from the wave.
It looked like he was going to get away with only his legs getting a little wet when out nowhere he saw someone on a surfboard accelerating faster towards him than he could get out of the way from.
They smashed against each other. Hard.
Ethan went sprawling into the sand, the water running all over him as well. For a moment, he couldn't see as he was a bit dazed from the heavy collision.
As his senses came back to him while he lay on the ground, he heard the idiot who ran into him come prancing over.
“Are you all right? I’m so sorry.
Ethan's eyes flashed with an impulsive anger up at the other boy. His hand curling into a fist, Ethan's arm suddenly shot up and flung sand into the other boy's face with the intention of blinding him.
Ethan would roll into a crouch and sweep out his right leg to trip the kid. If Ethan knocked him down on his back, he would pivot and bring his other leg down across his victim's throat, pinning him to the ground.
Though subconciously he was vaguely aware that it had been an accident, he'd already been moody and was set off by this moron who'd gotten him totally wet. He was going to pound him into the ground if he could.

The kid was made and threw sand into Max’s face. Great, he had gotten himself into a fight. Max was blinded by the sand and the kid seemed to have swept Max’s feet from underneath him. When Max hit the ground his eyes had cleared up a bit. He saw the kids leg heading right for his neck. Max quickly rolled out of the way and stood up. Max just stood there in the defensive position hoping that the kid stopped. Max wasn’t looking for a fight and wasn’t going to fight him. He was going to keep moving out of the way to not get hit.

The last attack missed as the other boy narrowly moved his head out of the way and rolled into a fighting stance. Ethan slowly rose from his kneeling position and stood normally. His cold, cruel eyes attempted to meet the other kid's gaze so he would be distracted from actually watching Ethan's next move.
Ethan slowly circled the other fighter a few steps before he feinted off to the left, faking a hook punch to the face. At the last second his right leg would come up instead in an inside crescent kick. Whether the kick connected or not didn't matter, as the motion of the attack would carry Ethan into a twirling butterfly kick. He wasn't going to let up on him.

Max watched as the kid circled him. Max didn’t move but just pivoted so he was never behind him. The kid attacked with a fake punch. Max move a little and watched as the kid swung a leg. Max would put his hands up and push the leg back, hopefully making the kid unbalanced and he falls. Max would not attack back yet. He was not going to do it.
“Calm down dude. It was an accident. No need to be a poor sport dude.”
Max hoped that the kid would stop. Max would have to quickly end it otherwise.

Ethan was certainly impressed. For a complete idiot, the surfer-boy had some good defense, protecting himself from the kicking barrage. But he hadn't yet displayed his offensive capability.
“Calm down dude. It was an accident. No need to be a poor sport dude.”
Ethan dropped his fighting stance and stood normally again. He took a few steps towards the surfer-moron until they were face-to-face.
"As you can see, because of you I'm quite drenched now. I hate getting wet when I don't want to be, so now I'm quite angry. But I'll cut you some slack...."
Ethan glanced at the surf board resting a few feet away before turning his attention back.
"Give me your board and we won't have a problem here. Otherwise, we fight," he finished with a predatory grin. He knew what the answer would be.
The very instant the fool uttered "no", Ethan would give four lighting-fast punches, one to the face, the ribs, the throat and the cheek in rapid succession before he'd leap back from the counter-attack. Assuming he dodged whatever feeble response the surfer gave, Ethan would leap forward again and attack.

"How about you just let it go. He can't control the ocean and he apologized. In my opinion, that means he doesnt owe you jack."
David stepped forward, tearing the goggles off his eyes, letting them dangle from his neck as a little water poured from inside. He was in his swimmiing trunks, bare chested and cold, though he didnt shiver. He had been spulunking, enjoying the underwater life when, after coming up for air, he saw with a bit of bemused laughter a boy get drenched by a massive wave. He thought it would all be in good fun when the kid who got soaked suddenly attacked the fellow on the wave. Davids smile vanished instantly as he began swimming to shore, comming up right at the moment the assailant ordered the poor kids board in exchange for 'cutting some slack.' A classic bully case. David hated those types- it was those kind of people he fought against at every turn.
He gave a quick look over of the boy, sorry that he hadn't seen how he fought. He cracked his neck from side to side, not threateningly, but just to ease built up tension in his neck. He gave the other kid a pat on the arm. "How about me and you hit the waves together." He looked at the other kid who obviously wanted a fight. "I've got a spare board if you feel like joining us." It would be an attempt to cool tempers and to get these guys to surf and make up.

The kid stopped but said that for him to leave I had to give him my board. Fat chance of that happening. Max had thought of an idea. Agree with him then smack him with it. That was before another kid came up and gave me a little back up. That was relieving. His idea wasn’t that bad though. Max would walk to his board and back.
“You coming?” Whether the other kid decided to come, Max would walk back to the waves with the other kid. “Thanks for that. I really wasn’t looking for a fight. The names Max, what about yours?” He would ask the other kid if the one didn’t come. He probably wouldn’t for he seemed to be upset.

Ethan looked around him. Now there were people gathering around them watching. A few looked like they were going to call the police to break up a potential brawl. He'd forgotten that this wasn't the school. Acts of violence in public usually had an adverse effect rather than being simply ignored.
Now that the anger had simmered down in him, Ethan realized that this was turning into a mistake. He was attracting far too much attention to him for his liking, and none of it good. Not to mention, he had no idea what this new guy was capable of, though he'd seen him on the student files back in the library. Which meant he was from the school as well, and likely not someone to be trifled with. And in a direct two-on-one fight, he'd likely lose.
The hardness left Ethan's face, and instead became cold and blank as it usually was. The first boy had seized his beach board again and asked him if he was coming. "I have better things to do," Ethan stated bluntly. As he walked away to leave, he passed by the red-haired kid and said, "But next time you knock me down, you might not be so lucky to have someone prevent from beating your sorry ass. Thought you should know."
He left the beach. (Exits thread.)

David cocked an eyebrow as the boy walked away.
Smart move.
He didn't hear what the kid said to him, probably some words of wisdom and asking him out for some ice cream. Haha. David walked over, putting a hand on the fellows shoulder and givving it a little slap of assurance. He picked up his board, which was stuck in the sand a few feet away. It was top line, one of the best there was, of course. He put the strap over his ankle and began walking beside the new boy whose butt he probably just saved.
"Nah, don't worry about it man. Some people are just out for a fight- its something you'll have to learn eventually."
After that, he dove out onto the ocean, preparing to hit the waves.
-Hour Later-
After they were Done, David crawled up onto the beach, laughing after a miserable wipe-out on his part.
Then, coming over him in near replication, was a massive wave, a person riding on top of it.
Was it his surfer body aiming to repeat offense?
Who knows.
The wave hit David, knicking him from his feet with a gurgle. He rolled up onto the beach, laughing his ass off between sputters of ocean water. He come up onto his back, his eyes turning toward the sky as a sudden image of Bastille came into his mind. Where was she? They got together and then...then she disappeared. He knew it wasn't because of trouble- he didnt feel like it was anyway. He put his hands behind his head.
'I'm missing you...'
