Freedom, fresh air, tranquility. It was refreshing as Roxy dug her toes into the sandy beach, sitting on the shifting earth. The weather improving to at least find herself enjoying the fresh air without a restricting, heavy coat.
It was still pretty early. She had her morning run and decided to take a detour on the beach. How could she not admire the view. She loved to watch the water. Covered in sweat as well as a sports bra and a pair of running shorts her legs seemed sprawled as her calf muscles still beat from each pounding step of the run.
She seemed the same. To an extent as her hair was now dyed back to her natural chestnut color except for the patch of long hair that was now fire red. Too many people were sporting the blue hair for her comfort. She liked to stand out, not expect to settle in. And with that she decided less was more. She missed the way the blue seemed to shine but didn’t miss the pastel color it faded to after a month or so. So deciding that change was something she was up for she did it without much thought and went on instinct.
Breathing in the salt filled air she let the air out of her lungs with a smile. She couldn’t wait till it was warm enough to swim. She longed to just stand and let the waves wash over her. To feel the power from the sea rush into her. But until she had that unnatural urge to freeze she would just make her day admiring the water instead of diving into it. Lets face it she was sporadic but not crazy.
Pulling her phone from her belt that also housed her water bottle she flipped the small black phone open. Flipping through the menus with a few strokes of her fingers she looked at her schedule.
Nothing.
How depressing. The girl didn’t even have a nail appointment. It was sad to say that she now was faced with a dilemma. She had nothing to do, nothing to expect, and too much free time on her hands.
Why couldn’t it be Friday again. Her girls from her old school always went to the movies on Friday. At least it would be something to look forward to. But instead it was Saturday and her movie date last night was spoiled by homework.
A depressing thought indeed.

'Perfect.'
David paddled forward with his arms, shooting out onto the water at a time most would regard as idiotic for surfing. But he liked these morning waves- he wasnt a professional, he wasnt a master Surfer, in fact he was just learning, and these five to ten food waves gave him good practice. He stood as he turned his board a little to the side, catching the eight foot wave and riding it beautifully. He grinned- it had been so long since he had stood up on a wave, every time he did he always seemed to lose his balance and-
His feet went out from under him, the water hitting his back like concrete. He gave a little yelp before he fell, then resurfaced quickly to get air. The board was attatched to his ankle and floated nearby. He was getting frustrated. That was a sure time that he should turn in. He road the red and white board back to the beach, standing and walking with it once he was able. He sat on his butt, unzipping the wetsuit to reveal a heavily toned body. He wasnt big or heavily muscled like some, but he could be proud that his body was cut and clean- probably one of the most toned and corded in the school. He removed the rest of the wetsuit, his black trunks a little wet but otherwise secure as he stood. He folded his garmet and tucked it under his arm, then headed back for his car.
He opened the passenger door and stuck in the board, tossing his wetsuit on the backseat of his GTO. He walked back down to the beach, intent on enjoying the sunrise. He found a large rock and took a seat, right about the time a oung, unknown female would attrack his attention. Should she look over, he would give a smile and a small wave, otherwise he would watch her for a few moments and contemplate going over to say hello...

The water was with no doubt cold and it was still pretty early in the morning. So when Roxy eyes hit onto the figure of the person on the waves. It kinda made her question just how crazy the guy was or just how die hard a fan he was to the surf.
She would watch as he would take one down. The water swelling over him as she did one of those wincing faces knowing that without a doubt the water was freezing since she gauged the weather to be about 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
She didn't take her eyes as his head would pop up and he would make his way to shore. Sure it would probably appear to anyone else that she was being nosy but meh she always poked her nose where she didn't belong.
So once he popped himself down on the rock her curiosity had won the battle and she was now on her feet after a few brushed strokes to her bottom to brush the sand from her back end.
"You know when they say early bird catches the worm, I didn't know they put surfing in the category. I assumed most surfers slept past noon."
Her voice showed its playfulness as she now stood beside him. Her hands behind her back as she tilted towards him while she spoke and then straitened back up when she finished. All the while keeping her eyes in front of her watching the waves come towards them.
Sure what she said was kinda lame but how else would she be able to bring herself into a conversation with the rather eye pleasing male beside her.

OOC((I am sorry i didnt post. I will try and be more puntual in the future.))
David smiled up at the girl as she approached, a little taken aback that she had shown the initiative to approach him first. He was ready to go talk with her, but he guessed he must have took too long...regardless, he would chuckle a little at her comment. "That may be true, but i'm not like most surfers. I prefer to have the ocean all to myself." He looked her up and down, not like he was checking her out but like he was curious, or questioning why she was wearing what she was. Rather then sit and stare at her awkwardly, he asked it simply. "You always dress like that on your six AM walks down the freezing cold beach?" His tone was slightly playful, and it was obvious he was just trying to make small conversation.
Ever since Bastille had mysteriously vanished, David had been kind of on the loop of depression as was want for most men who felt betrayed. It wasnt as though he was trying to get over her, but he felt them close enough that she could tell him when she planned to leave. He took a deep breath. What was the point anyway? Why tell him? He shouldnt be worrying about her, he should be worrying about what he planned to do in his near future. He didnt realize that he may have slid out of focus, making it seem as though he was focused on other things then the girl before him- which, in reality, he was. He shoock his head slightly, bringing himself back to the present to concentrate on what she may have said.

Roxy hooked her thumbs in the belt that was around her waist. Looking down at her, should say, lack of wardrobe and then back at him with a shrug.
“Correction, Run down the freezing cold beach."
Her lips curled into a grin.
"Have you ever tried to run in pants or a baggy t-shirt. These things tend to get in the way. I prefer to have least resistance. Its like asking whether you would go surfing with or without a body suit. More serious runners find it easier knowing they wont be caught up on anything.”
She then smirked and had been aware of his current wardrobe, or lack thereof.
“I don’t think you have much room to question either, sitting on the freezing beach at six in the morning. You would be lucky if you don’t catch a bit of a cold with that wet hair of yours.”
She grinned at her remark. She didn’t mean it as a rude remark. It was more of a matter of fact that he was doing what she was doing no matter how cold it was. But she was still sane enough to not go into the freezing water.
“The names Roxy.”
She wiped her hand on her side to make sure there was no more sand on her palm before extending it to him.

He smirked at her reply- he guessed that was a good point. Better to be comfortable when your trying to have a relaxing jog then to have to worry about baggage being caught up on your limbs and stay a little warmer. He looked down at himself when she pointed, chuckling a little at her comments. "I guess you have me there." He looked up and held out a hand to accept the extended one she offered. "David Blaze, pleased to meet you roxy." He stood. "I'll be right back." e jogged up the ramp and opened his car door, grabbing a long sleeved shirt and throwing it on- blue in color. He walked back down to where she stood, tilting his head a little to indicate that she should come walk with him.
Once she came up alongside him he would attempt to make small talk.
"So, Roxy, you go to school nearby?" He pleaces his hands in the damn pockets of his shorts as his bare feet moved through the cool sand. He didnt know that she attended Moral Crest, Since she didnt exactly seem like the fighting type and if you went to that school chances were someone was gonna beat you for it. He wished he knew of a way out of there but he wasnt about to leave his friends (which he hadnt spoken to in weeks) to fend for themselves without at least attempting to put up some sort of fight. He leaned his head back, the salty air catching his deep black hair and throwing it back as he inhaled deeply. It was so refreshing to have time to himself.
He thought for a moment on the look and feel he got from this girl. She seemed very nice, and friendly, and had a sharp mind about her. She had a different style, more punk rock then anything, but it didnt bother him in the least. He kept his gaze on areas of acceptance, careful not to "check out" the shapely form of the woman who spoke with him.

Following and meeting beside him she left her shoes in the sand. She doubt anyone would take off with them. Those poor grungy shoes were pathetic but her favorite pair. As she spoke answering his question, she kinda pointed behind her as if she knew exactly where the school was.
“Up over at Moral Crest. Just transferred in. A bit of a different atmosphere from my old school. Senior year, should be interesting to say the least.”
Roxy kept her thumbs hooked into her belt that was around her waist. Drumming her fingers against her hips as she walked. Her weight making the sand shift under her feet.
“But all in all, no complaints as of yet. How about yourself?”
After she asked her question Roxy would hit the roof of her mouth with her tongue before slightly biting on the metal ball. An activity she did normally just because she had the metal stud in her mouth.

David nodded, slightly surprised. He couldnt see her going to a hell hole like that- you wal through the doors and find a fight waiting for you. He guessed it was mostly males, though, that had that going on, and her looking like she did probably got her out of a lot of trouble. He Sighed in his head at the feel of the cool sand beneath his feet, and the already-warm sun that pressed against their backs. It was a good feeling to be able to just walk and not have anything to have to do, or anyone to have to protect or argue with. No ego, no power playing...just a calm atmosphere. He chuckled a little.
"Hard to think of you going there- that place is a death trap." He let out a breath. "I got to Moral Crest too- senior. I guess you could say im one of the more well known people to have Transferred in, though thats more of a curse then a gift." He placed his arms behind his head, looking up at the clear blue sky before returning the questions to her. "You know anyone up there, or did you literally mean just transferred?" David had been tehre for almost a month, since the collapse of public high school 259. He didnt find this place any better...hell it was probably worse. At least 259 had some for of control- this place was just havoc. Sure, the pillars tried hard, but it was a big place. If they were gonna get anywhere, they were gonna need an army.
He snatched a glance at Roxy. She looked a lot older then a senior...still, he guessed having another friend couldnt hurt, though with all these female friends of his, people might begin to think him sexist.

She laughed lightly and shook her head when he mentioned death trap but let him continue speaking before she would cut in.
“A few weeks. Maybe a bit after you. Not far off thou. I met a few people. Found myself a study group to play catch up. But I never heard of you, no offence.”
Roxy took her hands from her belt and quickly swooped down, grabbing a shell that was in danger of being stepped on by her as she continued to walk. She brushed the sand off of it and turned it over looking at it. It was a bit smaller than the palm of her hand and had seen its far share of waves and collisions.
“Your seem like you’re the kind of guy that looks at the glass as half empty. I prefer to look at it half full. Every school has their problems. With all the testosterone and the estrogen in that place violence is known to happen. Specially when most people are territorial. It’s human nature, just can’t prevent what has been done over hundreds of years. You just learn to cope and not provoke it by your own actions.”
She looked at him, her lips curving slightly into a small smile and then her eyes turned back to the shell that still remained fiddling in her hand.
“Knowing when to participate and when to walk away shows just how mature anyone can be. But just throwing yourself into the pile of violence just shows how dumb and blind you are even if, in the back of your mind, your just trying to help. Because someone will then see that your helping and then want to help the other person and thus the vicious cycle continues.”
She smirked as she placed the shell in the water container carrier on her belt, squishing it between the canvas fabric and the plastic bottle.
“So yea, it’s a rough school. But knowing where to keep yourself will make it an easy stay.”
She shrugged as she tucked her thumbs back into the strap of her belt.
“So are you asking yourself what side of the fence I might be on.”
Roxy chuckled as she looked over at David again.

David almost laughed. Almost.
"Actually, im on of the few who also looks at the glass as half full, but even im susseptible to bouts of sadness, y'know?" He sighed. " And to be honest, its refreshing not to have been heard of. People get this idea about you through rumors and never really know the real you." He didnt say anything at first when Roxy asked if he wanted to know which side she was on, instead he just gave a small smile. "Judging by what you said i'd say you were on neither side. Just another student trying to make in through her senior year." He stared into the distance. "No real problems, no worries, no weight on your shoulders." He looked down at his feet, which were sinking into the sand as he walked.
"I envy that."
He didnt say anything for a bit. He couldnt help but wonder what had gotten him back into the situation he was in. He wasnt in the spotlight anymore- that was for sure. His time of leadership had come and gone, and he had managed to stay beneath the radar. Besides, fighting in his current condition wasnt advisable. He felt weak constaly- maybe it was the earthquake and then the sudden transfer, but he was different physically. He had the same muscle mass, same look, just not as much...strength. He tried to keep things as low key as possible, and had so far managed to stay out of every fight that came his way, save a recent riot.
He looked over at roxy, placing a hand behind his head and laughing classic anime style.
"Hell, i can see where you would get the idea that i look at everything as half full. I sound like i should belong on doctor phil." He placed his hands out in front of him, doing a perfect impression of the man as he spoke. "And how, does that make, you feel?" He even had that strange accent, laughing a little to himself whether this girl throught it funny or not. It reminded him of his time at 809, before 259. The girl there use to love his doctor phil impressions. Sadness panged at him again when he thought of her, a small, rare glimpse of his feelings crossing his face before he looked to the small path up towards the dock. He took Roxy's hand, pulling her sharply to the left before releasing it.
Nothing was better then a pink ocean and a purple sky.

Roxy smiled when he told her that she was on neither side of the fence. To her that was a very good answer. And as he continued on with suggesting she had no real problems or worries. Maybe he was right. She was content and for any teen that was a big deal. It made her life a little of a bore in the end thou. No drama.
David mentioned something about Dr. Phil. She never really watched the show to understand what he was talking about. Roxy assumed that he was mocking the person and laughed lightly as he did the impression, she after all didn’t want to hurt his sense of humor with her lack of television experience.
As she took another step, she suddenly felt his fingers tug at her hand to change direction. It was an unexpected move but she seemed to change direction smoothly. She after all didn’t want to go tripping over her feet. The release of his hand made her think that he was a bit unsure of himself and maybe of her. Frankly because he could have merely said ‘hey lets go this way’ instead of physical contract.
Roxy was used to shy guys and this guy was no different. It should register interesting since they were alone and if anything, under what would be considered a romantic setting. Roxy felt like being devious but she really didn’t have the heart when she looked over and could tell that something was eating at him.
“I think I prefer the sun rise rather than the sun set. Seems fresher. But again that’s probably just me. There's less of a crowd specially since its still off season. Thou don't get me wrong, gotta love the beach when its late at night. I dig the mood with the moon light and such."
She smirked turning her face towards the sky and then back at him.

Unfortunately, David was neither shy nor Unsure of himself. He was rather too much of both. He was, however, totally preoccupied with his memories, and so wasnt fully able to enjoy the sunrise at first. That is until the girl spoke. His attention snapped back, his eyes coming to focus on the girl beside him. He grinned. Snapping out his hand, he pushed against her back hard, sending her off the edge of the open dock and into the water. He was gonna feel like shit if she couldnt swim, though he dove it soon afterward and would help her if she needed it. Now, the smart man might ask- "Why did you push her off the dock, Dave? Didnt you know it might ruin her make-up and make her slightly irritable?"
Of course he knew- but that was the point. The best way to get to know someone is in a shocking situation. Is she slow to anger? Is she fun loving and full of laughter? Is she cranky or does she over-react to something? Why not try and find that out in the best way possible- push her off a dock into thirty feet of ice cold water and see how she handles it? David would laugh when he broke the surface, his hair flinging water droplets into air as he gasped for breath, a broad grin spreading across his face as he looked to try and find the face of the girl whose time he was currently preoccupying.

As the water rushed over her it seemed more like shock rather than surprise. Her body twisted and jerked as her hands clawed for the surface. Salt water stung at her eyes as she broke the surface. Her teeth seemed to instantly chatter as she moved her body towards shore. She dared not look at him once he broke surface. Instead she quickly swam towards shore the waves helping her along.
With a staggering walk onto the beach she shivered. Grabbing at her belt to retrieve her phone. Water seemed to pour from the plastic, opening it to find that the screen was black. Roxy seemed to grunt more in anger than frustration.
Turning in the direction of the guy she raised her arm and pointed the phone towards him as she spoke.
“What the hell!? What gave you the indication that you can just do the fuck ever you want. Uncool dude, uncool.”
Roxy then turned her hair plastered to the side of her face as she stalked back the way they had both walked from. She was more angry that her phone was now damaged rather than her being drenched. Sure she was sporadic but she normally gave someone fair warning when she wanted to ruin their possessions.
Shaking the water from her arms and taking the long strands of hair and ringing them out as she stomped along she muttered to herself in anger, making her way back to her shoes.

David smiled as he dove beneath the surface, coming up along the cold beach water and walking the rest of the way, catching up with her and chuckling a little. In truth, David was happy for more than one reason. For one, she gave him a perfect medium- not overly angry but reasonably mad. He got in front over her and began walking backwards, keeping the stuipid grin on his face. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his own coaked and broken cell phone, holding it up as he walked backwards.
"Mine broke too."
He shrugged.
"Since i broke yours and mines broken too, how about we go phone shopping together. Any phone on any plan, my treat."
David WAS sorry for wrecking her phone but it did give him a little insight into her character. He wasnt a rich eighteen year old for nothing- he could do things like break a phone and make it up to you. It wasn't like that excused his actions, sicne being rich didnt mean you got everything you wanted, but it helped in situations like this. He hadn't intended for it to happen and in exchange he would buy her any phone she wanted. hell, he'd offer to pay for her service too, is she so desired. His grin faded away as he looked at the sand before back up to her, a hopeful gleam in his eye.

Stopping and instantly crossing her arms across her chest she huffed.
"You can't get away with it that easily. People always think if they break it and replace it that its alright. Well you know what its not alright. You can't replace nothing but the hard cold now wet plastic. Not the numbers not the pictures nothing."
She huffed again more or less grumbling. She had valuable pictures that she would and could never replace. And not that it mattered to anyone but her, she liked her phone. It took time and dedication to get it highly decorated like she had it. It was a classic almost 4 years old. You couldn't just replace it like that.
Roxy then rose her hand and pointed it right in his face her own still showing its disapproval.
"If you insist but I warn you any crazy stunts like that again and I will be severely mad and you don't want to see me when I get really mad."
