The first day of a hectic, but rewarding first day was over. Meeting new people was great, especially when you get along so quickly with them. It seems as though Victor and Tash were going to be her new friends. Gabriel...well...we'll see about that one.
Jocelyn began her journey home to her mansion. Her oversized organic, handmade, tweed messenger bag hit the side of her jean pocket with every step. The little bulge of money reminded her that she did, if fact, have money. Deciding to reward herself she thought it was best to stop for a bit of ice cream, after all, she did work hard today.
Stopping at the next stop light she turned left down the hill, instead of right, and headed towards the little strip of shops. The small neon sign flashed between 'Ice Cream', 'Gelato' and a picture of an ice cream cone. This was her favorite ice cream shop and she knew the owners well. Their family had owned this little shop long before Jocelyn was born. They spent years perfecting the recipe and it was evident with every lick.
Jocelyn neared the shop and smiled a little more, inside and out, as she pulled open the little parlor door and felt the splash of cool air on her face. Without even having to take the order the girl at the counter scooped up a Caramel Praline dollop and placed it atop the handmade waffle cones. Handing the girl two dollars she sat herself down in her favorite corner seat of the cute little red and white striped parlor tables and began to eat her gelato.

Max had three tests today and was glad they were done. He felt like fifty pounds was taken off his shoulders. He was walking through the shopping district when bright lights caught his attention. Wow that was a first that bright lights caught his eye. Anyways he saw that it was an ice cream shop. Ice cream sounded like an extraordinary thing right then. So that was what his plans were, get ice cream. Max walked in the door and heard a bell chime. It seemed that every place had that now. Max walked up to the counter and ordered ice cream, chocolate cookie dough flavor. It sounded so good. When Max got it he noticed that there was a girl in the corner. She was cute so max went total flirt mode. Max walked over to where she was sitting.
“Mind if I join you?”

Looking up for her enticing gelato and licking the remains off her lips Jocelyn was startled to hear and see a boy in front of her. "Mind if i join you?" He asked with a smoothness in his voice that suggested a little more. Not quite sure of what to do Jocelyn slightly raised one eyebrown and unsuredly replied, "Uh..yea..I guess."
Jocelyn looked around and saw there were a few other empty stools and tables. This isn't awkward at all She fidgeted a bit in her chair and adjusted the messanger bag on her lap. Then she looked up at the boy once more then back to her ice cream and continued eating while focusing on the crumbs of waffle cones on the table.

Max sat down and looked at the girl. She seemed to adjust herself. It was probably awkward for her to though. It was all a guess though. He couldn’t be to sure about her for he just sat down. HE took a bite of ice cream, swallowed it and began talking again.
“So how are you doing on a fine night like this?”
Man was Max a player, or maybe he just liked to hang out with everyone. Either way it didn’t matter. He was focused on this girl. He would hopefully get a name and number by the end of the night. If not he would give her his number and hopes she calls. That is if the like each other. Otherwise Max will just leave.

Taking a bite of his ice cream the boy continued to look at her with an interested look. Jocelyn looked up at him for a second and he said as smooth as he possibly could“So how are you doing on a fine night like this?”
Somewhat relucantly she responded after a short pause, "Good...I guess. Today was my first day at Moral Crest High. You know where that is?" Jocelyn expected him to go there as well seeing as it was the only school in the area. He looked young, maybe a freshmen. If he tried on a good day he could pass as a sophomore.
Her gelato was almost gone and she was running out of things to avoid the boy sitting across from her. The top of the melted cream was now too low for her to lick out of, so she began to bite the cone. Creating more crumbs. And more distractions.

“As a matter of fact I do know where that is. That would be the school I attend every once in the while.”
He said that in the truth of the matter. He occasionally actually goes, how is grades are high he isn’t quite sure. The thing was that when he actually did go he had all his make up work ready and aced all the test all the time. Max took another bite of his ice cream and looked back at the girl. She seemed to be very graceful but that was his opinion, unless he was not paying attention and drawn in by her beauty. He looked back at her and smiled.
“So how do you like the school? Met anyone interesting?”

Seeming as though this kid would never leave her alone Jocelyn wasn't sure if she should continue pittying him, or try to avoid him. Looking down at her clock she remembered that home wasn't really a place she needed to rush to. Deciding that she could stay for a second or two she looked back up at the boy with the piercing eyes and smiled a little. Remembering the people she did, in fact, meet made her gitty inside.
First off there was Victor, or "Break (as everyone seemed to call him). He was extreamly charming and charismatic. He fit the bill perfectly. His eyes also grabbed her attention, that is, when she looked him in the eye. It was hard for her when her face was constantly flushing pink. And Tash. She was also quite a charismatic fire cracker. Her energy really made Jocelyn smile. She was just so approchable! Gabriel....Gabriel. Well, he was a bit more of a "mysterious person", or so he tried to be. He seemed to want to insigate problems.
With a slight and warm smile Jocelyn replied "Yes, in fact, I've made a few already. I was really surprised because..."Her face veered off to the side as she thought back "well...I don't usually have many...or any friends..."
Remembering her past schools wasnt' really much fun. It didn't really help that she couldn't go home and feel any more secure. Sometimes she felt as if she didn't belong in her family, school, or life. She felt like she was ment to be someone else in some other place.
The color in Joceyln's blue eyes lightened from her normal deep blue to a more crystaline color. Her emotions were always pervelant in her eyes.
Remembering the shifting colors she made herself cheer up again and the deepness returned to her eyes as she looked back up at the boy.

“Well I’m sorry my dear. I’m sorry if I hit a soft spot.”
Max looked away from the girl he felt bad that he had done that to her. How could he have been so stupid to do that? Was he really that incompetent? He wished he could have started over but that isn’t always possible with a girl. He looked back into her eyes, still feeling bad. He had nothing to say now. He would sit there and look into her eyes and let her make the next move.

Aware of the awkward situation, that Jocelyn didn't mean to put him in, she continued on,"Oh...no...no worries. This school seems great! How long have you been going there? ...or lived in the area I guess."Neutral conversation. That works She smiled up at him and noticed how shamed he looked. Her face dropped at little feeling ashamed of his shame. Then smiled at him again, remembering that that would just make everything worse.

“I have been living here for a couple weeks, three or four. I’ve been going to the school approximately the same amount of time. So where did you move from?”
Max was going to learn plenty about her. It wasn’t everyday he meet pretty girls… actually lately since he has been out here it has. He was meeting new people left and right and there seemed to be nothing stopping him. Most of them were single and it seemed they were outgoing. None of them to shy, except this girl. She seemed to be shy but he wasn’t too sure yet. It was going to take him a while until he was sure but it didn’t matter. More time for them to hang out and become good friends.

"Well...I've moved...a LOT. This is my fifth school actually. And I've been at this school since...today" Jocelyn gave him a little smile that punched in the end of her sentence. She already told him. And she knew it. But she also knew he was trying to see how much he could get out of her. Not this one. No sirry.
