A test around the corner spurred Aedon's already rapid studies. It wasn't that he was crunching right before its just he had to be prepared for it. To understand so that every variable would come to no absence and that he'd have every opportunity to succeed. Yes, he was a bit of a nerd in that sense that he cared about his learning.
A pair of thin glasses were set neatly over the brim of his nose while that was buried in a text of microbiology books. Along side that a mythology booklet was strewn out to the side and next to that a psychology pamphlet. Okay maybe he was over working a bit. Though he didn't fit the part of nerd, his body was a first hint at it, nearly 6 foot 1 and heavily muscled. His appearance was quite attractive and yet he hid in the safety of the library consoling amongst the many books.
He flipped the pages only to hear a bit of scuttling amongst the library, he didn't notice at first though it may have been some trouble makers dishing out their own vigilantism. He shook his head consoling to himself that it was simply a knocked over book or something. Back to studies...

Where was it, where was it, where...ah. Of course. About eight feet of the ground. It would be. Tash sighed and pushed a messy handful of dark chocolate dreadlocks out of her face. Reading wasn't an all consuming past time for her, but she wasn't opposed to it. And she had a passion for mythology. She'd placed ano order for this book weeks ago and had been thrilled to get an email from the school saying it had been arrived and was shelved at the Moral Crest library. Now, she might not even get to read it. This damn school was so poorly budgeted they couldn't even buy step stools for the library. Which was all but empty. Figures.
In fact, there was no one else around for isles with the exception of herself and a tall, well built blonde guy she'd never met. After looking around futilely for anything that might help her reach her prize, she huffed with irritation and then strode purposefully up to the blonde.
"Hey there tall guy." She said, her husky voice a quiet murmur. Volume just appropriate for the scholarly atmosphere. "I hate to bother, but would you mind helping me out? In the name of chivalry or some such?"

Aedon returned to his studies with a vivid eye for detail reading in on the anomalies of rampant stars in distant nebulas. Yes he was also learning into scholarly works such as astronomy. when a voice called out drawing his attention forward. Cerulean eyes peered up from behind the thin glasses with a curious gaze.
"I hate to bother, but would you mind helping me out? In the name of chivalry or some such?"
He returned a gentle smile and stood walking to her side, "Yes sure." Aedon left his pile of books undefended against this rampant school of miscreants in order to help the fair lady in an act of chivalry. He wondered at the very least what she'd be doing there it wasn't every day you caught someone actually willing to learn at least in this violent system.
"What'dya need?" he pronounced silently in his irish accent.

"Thanks." A bright little smile dances across her shapely lips. Big jade green eyes sparkle. It's quit captivating. She probably doesn't even notice, she's just pleasantly surprised to have run across a gentleman.
Ask a guy for a favor at this high school and you're likely to get a fuck off, a sexual innuendo, no response at all, or a smart ass denial. This - this was nice for a change. She pointed out a reasonably thick and beautifully hardbound volume.
"The one with Comparative Mythology printed on the side. The fatass hardcover."
Curiously, she glanced at him again. Not too many students frequented the Moral Crest library, especially not students who looked like him. A guy like him one expected to find out by the basketball courts. Well, wonders never ceased. He'd already become a pleasant addition to her day.

Aedon looked at the book which was large no doubt holding just about every secret of the ancient world behind its covers. Slightly intimidating to an onlooker. Though it didn't lie out of reach. A quick stretch and he'd gotten it down from its fanciful pedestal. He flipped once through the pages simply due to habit before handing it over carefully taking great pride in a book like that. Though he remained fairly silent, not much one to talk. He tried a small grin but only returned to the neutral stature he'd begun with. Small talk was never his forte either. He failed miserably at the act.
"Trying to find the difference between Jupiter and Zeus?" Aedon said quickly to break the silence, he mentally face palmed himself quickly thinking it was a dumb thing to say

She took the book from him, running her fingers gently across the embossed cover. A glance at her "white knight" showed that he'd returned to his books. She didn't mind, he'd been polite.
"Trying to find the difference between Jupiter and Zeus?"
She gave a small grin a the mortified expression that flickered acros his face at his own comment. Awkward, but kind of charming. Shifting her attention back to the volume in her hands momentarily, she flicks through the table of contents, finding the unit of chapters she is most fascinated by.
"Nope, it's actually a little more embarrassing than that." She chuckles, flipping expertly through the pages. "Ever noticed that pretty much every culture on the map - even cultures who never would have had contact with each other, have dragons? Even the Inuits had dragons." "I guess it's kinda silly, but I find it fascinating. I'm Tash, by the way. Natasha."

Aedon's lips turned upward into something of a smile. Someone he could relate to even if it was a little bit. It was odd finding people to come to an even measure with it felt new and scary. His gaze turned upward with good intention then looked at Natasha.
"Yea, it might be a little embarrassing." He gave a short laugh before looking down at his work again.
Time seemed to tick by as another silence followed. Aedon was still a little curious of what she was doing.
"Aedon, I'm Aedon." He grinned a little into the book.

Normally Tash would be fine with his lack of conversation. But she'd made the mistake of a doughnut for breakfast, so she had a little more sugar than normal in her system today and she was in a nosy mood anyway. And Aedon was interesting.
"Not gonna lie, Aedon. If you were out in the quad with half the school and they told me to pick the five most likely candidates to be found in the library, you would not be on my list. The word "library" might as well be in a foreign language to this school. How come you're fluent?"

Aedon turned up and innocent face oblivious to what she was referring to. His brows raised in curiosity, was she mocking him of asking a question? He wasn't quite sure.
"huh? Um yea I just," Aedon started in a low voice, "I just try to stay out of trouble here...."
It would sound like it had come from a kid who'd gotten bullied his entire life. But Aedon was a large kid it would be almost humorous to see him ever be bullied.
(OOC: Apologies for short post, trying to get his character down a bit...)

Tash shrugged and smiled. It made sense what he said. I mean, she supposed you could pick fights and make drama and be a real badass around her. But that just wasn't her thing. She didn't fight unless she had to: she just didn't see the point in trying to get in trouble. It was such a waste of time and she had far cooler things to do with her life. Really, she did.
It seemed as though she might have found a like minded student. Well that was rare. What a diamond in the rough. "Honestly, that's probably the best thing you can do. I try not to start shit. I mean, I can take care of myself alright. It's just - it's not worth it. You know?" She says, looking over at him. "So how'd a guy like you end up in this foxhole anyhow?"ooc: don't worry about it, it's no problem at all
