Sara closed the book she was flipping through, sighing loudly. This wasn't going to well. She had a report due soon. To soon. Tomorrow. And she hadn't even started. Now she was stuck inside the library searching through the crappy collection of books for something to help her with her report. And so far, she hadn't found anything promising. Another loud sigh and the scrape of her chair as she stood up. Ok, maybe she was purposefully trying to make noise, make the other students as pissed as she was, but it didn't matter. Wasn't like there was many people there to begin with.
She dropped the book she had been looking through on the little cart and wandered down an aisle, her eyes searching for something good. Her eyes feel to something on the top shelf. The name made it sound perfect for what she needed. She wiped her hands on her jeans, and looked up. Now she just needed to reach it. She pushed onto her tip toes, grabbing onto a ledge with her left hand, and reaching as high as she could with her right. A small groan escaped her as she realized she wasn't tall enough.
Being short sucked... So much. She stepped onto the lowest ledge carefully, and pulled herself up. The extra height allowed her fingers brushed the spine of the book, but she still couldn't reach. One more loud sigh as she tried to figure out what to do now. She was in no mood for this crap. Where was that idiot librarian. She growled in frustration and called out loudly, "Can I get some help lady, before the poor student kills herself?"

David reached up leisurely, grabbing the book and handing it down to the girl as she called out. He had been sitting in the small circle of recliners and couches that the teachers had set aside for youth such as himself, watching with mild interest as the usually angry and fight-oriented Sara tried her best to grab a book. He leaned against the shelf, a small smile on his face as he considered the female before him. "Reading are we? Thats a change- usually your bashing in the face of some unsuspecting student." David was fresh from his morning run, and was happy to finally have a chance to relax. It was just a few days before that David had met with the leaders of Militia in this very place, and he was eager to get some much needed studying done.
"Then again, knowing you, i doubt this knowledge hunt will last long. Someones probably just waiting for a fight." He was being a smartass he knew, but he didnt care- the girl was enough of a smartass to everyone else that he felt he could give her a little shit every now and then. It was funny- last time they met, Her and her boyfriend travis had tried jumping him. Where was Travis now? He hadnt seen him since that fight, and he hadnt seen him with Sara in a long time. Perhaps they broke up? He held out a hand in invitation, indicating that she should bring her things over to where Blaze was sitting. It was more comfortable, and offered a little more peice since it was further away from the windows and doors.
"If you want to come and take a seat, i'll gladly help you with that homework youve been working on." How did he know? Well, it wasnt hard- papers all over the table, pencils and books stacked up. Yup, definitely homework.

Sara reached higher for the book after calling out. All she needed now was to fall and she would have a lawsuit all over this schools ass. That thought made her smile... until a hand appeared above her, easily grabbing the book she was reaching for. She dropped off the lower ledge and stepped back to see David.
Her expression hardened as he spoke, the annoyance clear on her face. He was pushing her, and he damn well knew it. He was purposefully trying to annoy her. Sara could think of no smart reply to this. He was actually kind of right in a way. Although she didn't like to think that the students she fought were 'unsuspecting'... They knew.... She made sure they did before she kicked their annoying little asses. She really didn't know what to make of this guy right now, especially after their last meeting. She hadn't seen him since then. And now all of a sudden he shows up talking to her like he knows her ~oh so well~ "Are you offering up your face then David?" She asked him with a mischievous little smile, her eyes bright.
She watched him gesture to a spot where she assumed he had been sitting. She nodded at his invitation, her expression still full of annoyance and went to collect her things. She grabbed all her papers and stuff, carrying them under one arm and walked over to the circle of seats and dropped into a recliner, putting all her stuff at her feet. She was going to take a break. She had been working hard all... the whole time she had been in the library (... all of 15 minutes) and it was time for her to relax. Besides~How could she pass up a chance to talk to him?
She pulled her legs up under her, leaning on the arm of the seat. "So... You come here often?" A pitiful attempt at a corny flirtation, yes, but it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside <3

David cocked an eyebrow.
It was obvious to him what the girl was doing- he had been getting a real lack in it lately so to see flirtation was like looking at sunlight. Only to him, this sunlight wasnt totally welcome. He was glad for the lack in female attention, as he was glad in his own lack of involvement regarding school events. But he wasnt totally turned off to her- no, David was relaxed, and a bit of healthy flirtation could do him some good. He shrugged, smiling a little. "I come here when i need to study...or short but cute girls grab their books from the top shelf." Perhaps his own little insight of corny charm, but he never claimed to be the greatest pick-up artist of all time. In fact, if truth be told, he was rather clumsy when it came to women, and would often make a fool of himself in front of them.
He yawned, his pearly whites glittering slightly in the light of the school and the sun. He gave a small questioning frown, his smile turning upside down(that rhymed). He looked back to the eyes of the female next to him, asking plainly.
"So what happened with you and Travis? Have a falling out or something?"
Yeah, he was kinda blunt, but at least he wasnt rude.

"I come here when i need to study...or short but cute girls grab their books from the top shelf."
Ok, she had to laugh at that one, the little smartass. She laughed easily, shifting to get more comfortable in the seat, it was obvious he wasn't going to be fazed by her obviously lame attempt at flirting. It wasn't that she was interested like that in him... Well she couldn't say that she was completely DISinterested either... Ok, enough, her intent was to throw him off, not flirt him into bed.
Sara enjoyed a good flirt every now and again, but with the way things were going, that was all it was, a small flirt, something to make her feel attractive and wanted. Something every girl needed. But it seemed like he really wasn't interested, maybe even a little uncomfortable despite the joking nature she had brought it up in.
"So what happened with you and Travis? Have a falling out or something?"
She froze. Well... That... was an awkward question... She dropped her gaze, eyes wide at the sudden pang in her stomach. That sucked. A lot. Then she got a hold of herself and glared at him. She stared daggers into his face. His FACE D<
"Maybe. Not really your business right?" She snapped. She sighed, wiping her hands over her face. That had been rude. He had asked a simple question and she had snapped on him. Nice. Good job Sara. "Sorry... Still a little raw about that one... Ya, shit happened... It's over..." She rubbed her hand over her face again. Her voice was still hard. One more thing like that and she wouldn't be able to stop herself from jumping him.

David laughed at the look on her face. Yeah, laughed at it.
"You need to relax more, seriously. Your too pent up, full of anger. Dont take things to seriously, otherwise your just going to constantly grow hating everyone around you. Learn to love and live a little more- it will bring you happiness in the end." What, did he come here to preach a sermon? He placed his hands behind his head and laughed. "Not that you care to hear me prattle on about happiness and shit...you'd probably rather we skip these pleasantries and head straight to the blood, right?" He was, again, blunt. He looked over at her, his smile leaving. "Sorry sara, but there wont be a fight between us today." He would leave before he fought her. He was on his down time, and getting into a battle with her is the last thing on his mind- he didnt need another person out for his blood.
"Though i am curious as to where you stand in the school politics area- seems you have changed a lot since we last spoke, yet remain the same. You fight anyone who looks or says something wrong, but you also havnt really sided with anyone of importance." He returned a small little grin to his lips. "I kinda hoped youd come side with me, if it came right down to it."
Yeah, he said it.
So?

Sara rubbed her temples while he spoke, her eyes closed as she took deep breaths as she tried to calm herself. He was pushing her buttons. Bad. Was he looking to make her beat the living shit out of him? He thought he could laugh at her, and preach his nonsense, insult her, and she wouldn't fight him? He was an idiot, who had no idea who she was. He was lucky she hadn't already taken a swing at him. If she thought so herself, she was definitely doing well on controlling her anger <3 Yay Sara~!
But if he was going to play nice, talking serious subjects with her, like politics, she would play nice to. Try to. Not that she was particularly interested in the politics of the school, the gangs and pillars and stuff. It meant very little to her, and was not a world she wished to be involved in. If there was one thing he was right about, it was that she had refused to take sides. She proudly fought and hated everyone equally <3 Didn't matter who they were.
As he finished, she chuckled softly, letting her hand fall from her face as she leaned back in the seat, getting more comfortable. If she was going to play nice, she would damn well stay comfortable. "I prefer not to take sides in whatever little war is going on behind the scenes. It doesn't affect me, so I don't bother with it. I don't give anyone a break simply because of who they're involved with. And as for siding with you...? I didn't know you had a side either. As far as I knew, you were a violent little shit who jumped to conclusions to quickly, not to long ago yourself." She smiled wickedly, referring to her fight with him over a... misdirected book, and gave her comments a few moments to settle.
She was interested in the way he had phrased that question. Was he involved in some sort of group? "What reason would i have to join you other then the fact that you can reach the books on the top shelf?"

David? Violent? Good lord, he was just protecting himself against what he believed a possible threat. She really needed to learn that and to stop being a stubborn bitch. Of course, David said none of this, instead opting to roll his eyes rather then continue to test the patience of a overly hostile student. Instead he waited for her to pose her question before he pondered in silence. It was true he was really on nobodys side except his own and the side of those students who wanted to be free and left alone. He shrugged a little, almost as if to say what does it matter though he did in fact answer.
"I guess you could say im on nobodies side, yet at the same time on everyones side." He smiled. "See, unlike some, i only care about the people, not my own worthless ambitions or my gang or my hunger for power. I knwo that once school ends for me, which it will soon, that none of my petty little schemes will matter. So i want to try my best to protect those i have come to admire and respect, as well as those who just want to do what ive always wanted to- Graduate in peace." He laughed a little. "You dont make that very easy for them you know."
His laughter died away as his face grew serious.
"I guess my wanting you to join me is a verbal hope that you'll get over your hunger for pain and violence and join a cause that has your own interests at heart. I hoped that you would put your newly developed strength to some use and fight people who only want to hurt and bring others pain." He looked over at her. "Though it may sound like i'm preaching a sermon to you, just think about it- There would be plenty of fighting, there would be plenty of experiences, and there would be a good cause." He was trying his hardest not to seem like he was forcing his veiws on her, but he couldnt understand why a girl would want to beat the shit out of anyone who just happened to look at her the wrong way other then the fact that she didnt have a purpose or a finish line to which to put her strength towards.
At least, thats what he thought.

Sara remained silent throughout his entire speech, a look of skepticism on her face. She had to admit, his views were somewhat similar to her own, but the whole caring about the people thing? Really now. The only one he should be caring about was himself. The others shouldn't concern him. The reason she fought everyone who looked at her was because she cared about herself, and only herself. She wasn't about to let anyone get ahead of her, or get the better of her. It was all about her. Screw the people.
She knew damn well she didn't make it easy for people. It was what she meant to do. Most of the time. There were times when she did things that angered others without meaning to, but other then that, she knew damn well what she was doing.
He was confusing her though, and she dropped her head as he spoke, playing with her hands in her lap, wringing her fingers. He wanted her to join him? He was even going so far as to promise her conflict. God, she loved conflict. When she first started at 259, she hadn't been this violent. She hadn't really been interested in fighting. Now? She was obsessed. She had a problem, but at least she was willing to admit it. It was partly because she didn't really have a purpose. She wasn't going to graduate this year like she was supposed to. It just wasn't going to happen. She didn't even know if she would graduate at all. Maybe she should just drop out... Not like there was anything keeping her in the school at the moment, and by staying, all she was doing was hurting her average. If she dropped out, at least the failing marks wouldn't be included right?
As he finished, she shrugged, unsure of what to say or do. "I don't know... I mean... I don't hunger for violence and pain. If I did, this shit that I start would be a lot worse wouldn't it?" At this, she lifted her head and glared at him. She was kind of offended by what he had said. "But I don't know... I'm not interested in joining anyone. I'm more of a... go with the flow person. My main concern is myself, but if I do something that may benefit others... Then it just happened. Good. But as for actually joining a cause? I don't know... Look... If it came down to it, I would probably fight with you, not against you. From what you just said, we agree on a lot of things, and I see no reason why we would be on different sides if it came down to it."
She looked away, blushing slightly. "I don't know what you consider me, but despite the... fights... we've had, I consider you... not an enemy... A friend. If you needed something, I would help. But to actually commit to a cause? I can't do that. Mentally, I can't do that." And that was the truth. Even clubs and stuff, she couldn't mentally commit to groups. A diagnosis of ODD tagged onto her name proved that point. She was kind of sorry she couldn't help him more, but as long as he knew that she would lend him a hand if he needed it, then that was cool. It was the most she could commit to.

He listened to her politely, a little shocked inside that she was actually talking to him like a rational individual. He guessed that some of the things made sense when veiwed from her perspective, but most of it sounded a lot like selfish wants and feelings. Its not to say that David didnt have those- he was a billionaire who went to a public high school. Hell, he was still IN school. He didnt need to be but he was. He had plenty of things he wanted to do as a teenager and would have plenty more things to do as an adult. the point of what he was saying was that he had all this money and a great, full life ahead of him- he just wanted to do what he could do make sure everyone else had the same opportunity.
He chuckled a little bit when she was done.
"You misinterpret what i said, or perhaps i stated it wrong. I wasnt actually asking you to join any group of mine, or to serve me or any of that crap. I just want to know that you'll help me if i need it. An alliance of sorts." He looked away from her, his eyes glazing over a little. "I see many things happening within this school, and most of them arent good. I just need some good people who want to make a difference beside me when i need them."
He gave her a charming grin.
"And a being friends with a beautiful girl does sound like a good thing, i must admit."

Sara smiled at the compliment. She had calmed down since their initial meeting. Talking rationally helped calm her mind, thus her body. She was relaxed now. She felt better. She felt like they understood each other a little better now. This was good. She liked David. He was a good guy. He had some good views. She didn't want him as an enemy. Definitely not. But if it had to come to that, then so be it. It made no difference to her.
"Well... You have my word. If it comes to it, I'll fight with you. We have a lot of the same views. I think more then you know. Maybe our methods might be a little different, but I think we at least both in the same book, if not the same page." She smiled. "Now... I have homework to be doing." She reached down and pulled her stuff into her lap.

David shrugged only lightly.
"You can do your homework later- i said i would help you, so talk to me a little more. I had a quick question for you i needed to ask anyway, so i guess now is good a time as any." He began cracking his knuckles, not out of nervous habit or because he didnt want to ask a question, he did it just so he would have a place to put them. His eyebrows rose a little. "Wow...my hands are cold...." He shook his head looking back over to Sara. "What do you think of Gabriel Seran? Like, do you even know him or...?" He wasnt asking because he knew that she had affiliation with him, he asked because most people at least knew him or heard his name, and he wanted to see how far her information regarding that young individual went.
He stared over at her for a few moments. She was nice, at least for no, and that gave him a different perspective on her. She was usually so tense, violent, irritated, that seeing her sitting there and having an actual conversation made him feel a little more relaxed.
Plus, the heat of the damned library didnt help.

"Hmmm?" She lifted her head to look at him, letting her stuff fall back down to the floor. If he was going to help her, then she had no problem holding off a little longer. Wasn't that big of a deal.
But Gabriel Seran? She knew that name. Where did she know that name... Then she remembered. Or thought she did. She couldn't remember, it had been a long time ago. It really made her realize how much had happened in the short time she had been in the school. But ya... The fight on the front steps.
It wasn't the fight so much as what he asked her afterwards. He had wanted to bring down the pillars and such, an gangs... All that great jazz. At the time she had wanted nothing to do with. She still wanted nothing to do with it. All these plots and plans to bring down the pillars and gangs. At the time they had fought, they had been very evenly matched in power. Not long after, Sara had fought one of the pillars. Her understanding was it was the weakest one. She had been annihilated, and completely glad she had chosen to stay out of the area. She had heard rumors of him around the school since then, but hadn't come in contact with him since.
"Ya... Seran... I know him. He had some crazy plan about bringing down the pillars and gangs and shit. He tried to get me to help him. I very politely told him no." Her body was tensed as she spoke, wondering if David was with or against him. She didn't bother to tell him that she had told Gabriel the same thing she told him. That she would fight with him. What the hell had she gotten herself into now...?

David nodded slowly, thinking over the small tidbits of information she gave him while thinking on the way she said it. It didnt sound to him like she was interested in anything Gabriel had going, so at least that was a plus. He brought his arm up, placing it on the back bridge of the couch, not like he was putting it behind her for some cheesy, slick cool guy move, but he just wanted to stretch out his muscles a little. He leaned back, speaking as he rested his head.
"Well, stay away from him. He's kind of...not right. At least right now." He sat back up straight, trying his best to keep his composure. He and gabriel had never been enemies in any sense- in fact, at once point in time him and gabriel had made an alliance together against dragons and gangs, just in case things went wrong for the both of them. He rolled his shoulders. they were sore...fighting would do that to a person. He wondered, briefly, what exactly the girl sitting next to him was like. He always talked seriously with her- why couldnt he just learn to relax?
"So, Sara, besides putting people in the hospital, what else do you like to do for fun? Kuz im terribly bored and i have two opens, so whatever else you find fun lets do it."
He grinned.
Golf? Arcade? Go-karting?
He was so down.

Sara relaxed when he changed the subject, even letting a small smile return to her lips. Putting people in the hospital? Pffft. Her? No way. She was a little angel. Sara had never put anyone in the hospital. She had no plans to ever take a simple fight that far. People had put her in there, but never the other way around. And she liked it that way. She wondered though, what he was getting at. Whether there was some other motive for asking her to do something with him.
She thought for a moment, and the familiar unease of making decisions began to creep up on her. She had never been one to be decisive. It was hard for her to make decisions. She was terrible at it, and it made her uncomfortable. What if he didn't want to do it? What if he thought her ideas were stupid? Sara wasn't really a picky person for these things, so she went with the safe route, shifting uncomfortably, but trying to appear calm and cool.
"I'm not really sure, I do things more on impulse then anything. How about you? What do you do for fun? You choose and we'll do it. I... Don't have two spares, but I'd be more then happy to accompany you." She laughed sarcastically. She had no problem hanging out with him. In fact, it sounded a lot better then sitting in the library doing nothing.
