Another day. School had gotten out an hour ago, Ethan had been working on some personal things and finished his work a bit late. He'd been looking over the data he'd collected on his fellow classmates, finding of particular interest the local inhabitance of two gangs in the school.
He wondered how hard it would be to gain acceptance into one of these groups, not because he had any strong desire to be part of any crew, but because it might prove useful to infiltrate one of the factions and use them as a force to destroy the other, and by extension, the school. But Ethan was getting way ahead of himself, he a lot more work ahead of him to do for worrying over long-term plans like that. He needed only patience, and faith...that was what He had always taught him. Patience and faith would deliver his enemies unto their retribution, and he unto salvation.
He wandered aimlessly down a hall, without direction or purpose, seemingly alone. Unconciously, he ran two fingers over the new scar on his cheek, a gift from the one he now knew as Gabriel....
"That's a pretty badass scar you got there, man."
Ethan looked up from his pondering and found that he'd been surrounded by four boys, all thugs by the look of them. How careless of him to not pay attention; that's twice he'd made such a mistake.
"You deaf, boy? I'm speakin' to you."
Ethan looked over the one who spoke to him, his eyes traveling over the rest of them as well. He could tell they were all weak, judging by the fact that they intended to fight him four-on-one. They had no distinguishing features. He merely stared back at the one doing all the talking, giving no reaction.
"You're one rude-ass muthafucka," the boy said, a smirk beginning to contort his ugly features. Predictably, he would follow to heft a rather clumsy punch at Ethan's face, only to contact thin air as Ethan easily sidestepped the blow and brought his elbow up to smash his attacker's chin, knocking him out with one blow. Weak.
The other three ran at him with no strategy or coordination. Ethan jumped into the air and cut down a second victim with three rapid kicks, landed, ducked under another poorly-thrown punch and gave four of his own in rapid succession, downing the third assailant.
The last one pulled a knife and stabbed crazily at Ethan, who twisted out of the way, grabbed the outstretched arm and shoved it back at the thug, re-directing the knife into the poor sap's leg.
The kid started wailing incessantly with pain as he fell and clutched his bloodied leg, but Ethan held no sympathy. This was the only sort of behavior you could expect from the kind who were such dregs to society that they had to be confined within a school like this. They all deserved what fate was in store for them. And Ethan was not in the mood for this foolishness. He'd make this idiot pay for drawing out his frustration.
He stepped forward and cruely set the heel of his foot upon the boy's throat, slowly suffocating. Now a slight smirk found its way upon his face. No one would be here to see what was happening. At least, that's what he thought.

Sylar had watched the incident from around the corned. He watched as the kid fought all four and seemed to win. He would have to pay them for getting their asses kicked. All he wanted to do was harass the kid. Not get their bloody asses handed to them on a silver platter. Oh well, he never really was going to pay them. They deserved everything tey got. As the kid seemed to be suffocating the kid Sylar casually walked up behind him.
“Just to let you know you should really make sure a guy is done before you turn away from him.” Sylar would move out of the way if the kid threw a back handed punch. Sylar wasn’t talking about himself though but the kid who seemed to have got punched was standing back up. Sylar quickly grabbed him and threw him through the locker. He wasn’t going to be doing anything but lying in bed for the next couple weeks.

“Just to let you know you should really make sure a guy is done before you turn away from him.”
Ethan whirled back to address the speaker, instinctively throwing out a fist to repel an attack, but the individual in question easily dodged the blow, instead moving to pick up the thug who Ethan had punched a few times, picking him up and throwing him into an adjacent locker, solidly knocking him out.
Ethan didn't drop his guard from being helped by this newcomer. He had a surly look about him. And he didn't like the fact that he'd almost snuck up on him. Almost.
Ethan gazed back at him distrustingly, his cold eyes never leaving him. "Who are you, and what do you want?" he asked cooly, waiting for a reply.

“Why does everyone always want something? Can’t some people just help out a fellow who just got jumped, even though you did win?”
Sylar had made his point. If the kid trusted him then that was his first mistake. Don’t trust anyone, especially not him. Sylar was going to test the kid whether he liked it or not. He would rather test him before Gabriel did. If Gabriel got to him first then there wouldn’t be much of a fight. The kid would be worn out. The difference is Sylar would keep going. Once the student put his hands down Sylar would launch an attack. Not quite yet but soon enough.

"I don't need your 'help'," Ethan sneered contemptuously. He naturally distrusted others, and he wasn't about to become friends with some scummy-looking lowlife on the basis that he was trying to help. If he'd been in a better mood, he might have actually played along with this idiot and led him on for a while before disposing of him, but he had better things to do.
"Why don't you run along and 'help' some other people like a good samaritan(spll?)."
Ethan would turn on his heel and walk away slowly, hands in his pockets. He was no fool, this creep had already snuck up on him once already in the middle of a fight. Ethan was very observant, and he doubted that he would be stupid enough to try to sneak up on him in an empty hallway where any noise he made would be heard.
If he did something and Ethan was able to react, he'd kick off one of the nearby lockers on the wall and backflip over the assailant's head and land behind him, ready to attack.

Sylar stood there and listened. The hall was quite and he could hear the kids footsteps which means if he moved the kid would attack. Sylar looked down at the ground and noticed that the locker door had landed by his feet. This was going to be good. Sylar quickly grabbed it and held it tight. He would grip it tight and throw it without making a sound. There was no way the kid would be able to hear it coming for him so therefore he wouldn’t be able to know it was coming until it hit him. It was going for the back of the head. When it hit (if it hit which it should) the kids sight would definitely be a little fuzzy, or the kid would be having major headaches.

Ethan had heard a vibration in the air, but when he glanced slightly over his shoulder and then raised his arms, it was too late to react to the large piece of metal coming right at him.
Bam.
Ethan would have landed flat on his back, but he came into a roll instead, stopping in a crouch facing the opposite direction of the hallway where Sylar was. His head was throbbing horribly from the impact, and he had to blink and shake his head a few times to clear his vision.
He'd pay for that.
Ethan rose slowly, taking his hand away from his head and strode back to the scene of the scuffle. There was debris all over the place that had spilled out from the opened up locker.
Ethan would run forward and kick up a book lying on the floor into Sylar's face, then while he was distracted thrust his elbow into his chest, putting all his force in the blow to knock him down.
He'd been foolish to turn his back on a possible threat. He wouldn't make the same mistake again.

Sylar watched as the kid ran straight for him. Finally he attacked him. Sylar loved starting the fights and more than anything he loved to finish them more. Sylar noticed the kid hit the book up, not a very good distraction if you asked him. Sylar would step to the right and watch the kid keep going. Sylar would then put his knee into the general area of the kids gut. There wouldn’t be much room for evasion so it would be a miracle for it to happen.

Well, at least this guy was smart. And he had some reflexes, not being dumb enough to try and knock the flying book out of the way and wasting movement. Instead, he merely side-stepped the attack and waited for Ethan to come at him and give an opening. Ethan wasn't thinking clearly, so he nearly ran into the trap. At the last moment, he skidded back and avoided the upturned knee, but at the cost of losing both his momentum and balance. He was wide open for attack now.
((OOC: Srry if this post sucks, I'm burned out for the moment. If you need me to re-edit it, I will))

Sylar watched as the kid came to an abrupt stop almost. The thing was that the kid had nothing now; no momentum or it looked like hw had no balance either, perfect. Sylar closed the last couple of feet and was so close that he threw an elbow for the kids jaw. If successful then he would follow up by the opposite knee coming up for a blow to the nearest opening, whatever it was. Sylar played dirty and it didn’t matter who it was. They were all the same to him, even the girls. Sylar would watch the kid in pain if all the attacks hit. If the initial elbow missed Sylar would drop and roll to the side. Very unlikely it would miss but you never know.

Well, the first blow didn't exactly miss as Ethan was in an indefensible position. He saw the elbow coming at his jaw; he threw up an arm to the side of his head to block the attack. Although the blow didn't reach its intended target, Ethan hadn't been able to brace for the impact of Sylar's hard hit. His arm felt pretty bruised from taking it head on rather than simply dodging it as he normally would have, and he knew it would feel sore for a while.
He hated being pushed back.
Clenching his jaw in a scowl, Ethan reared back and tried to throw a quick reverse-roundhouse kick to the head, but his opponent neatly rolled out of the way to the side. Now that he wasn't immediately being pressured, Ethan jumped up and kicked off a nearby locker in a split second while the combatant was still tucked in a roll; flipping over him while airbound, he'd land in front of his opponent where he'd least expect him and bring up his own knee into the thug's face, hopefully as he was just coming up into a crouch. If the blow connected, he'd follow up with five more fast, striking kicks.

As sylar rolled up right he was hit in the jaw with what would seem to be a knee.
*Pop*
His jaw was broken and the kid would know have a good chance for an attack. The kid seemed to have noticed that for after Sylar was up he was hit one... two... three... four... five times. Sylar was sprawled across the floor. He had been hit enough that the kid would think he was done. The thing was if you knew Sylar he never quits. He would keep at fighting even if it would kill him. Sylar never stops.
As sylar was laying on the floor he would start laughing histerically. This kid would probably think he has beaten SYlar. Wrong. While still laughing Sylar would stand up. Jaw perfectly fine again, being able to talk once again.
"Did you really think you could beat me? Let's end this."
Sylar would quickly linge for the kid. Taking him to the ground if he could and then start pummeling him. He would not let up if he grabbed him. Their wasn't much room for him to maneuver out of the way.

Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam.
All five of them hit home. It looked spectacular, and it felt very satisfying to pummel his face in so aggressively. The thug fell hard onto the floor on his back, out cold. Ethan had won.
But somehow...it had seemed too easy. He'd held the advantage seconds before, and seemed to physically surpass Ethan, if only by a small margin. Perhaps Ethan had made the mistake of over-estimating his opponent. No harm done.
Ethan straightened his jacket-collar with one hand, and then brushed some strands of hair out of his face. "That wasn't as difficult as expected," Ethan observed as he looked down at him. "Next time, perhaps you should make sure you know what exactly you're up against."
Ethan turned his back and began walking away...only to be called back by the sound of maniacal laughter behind him. He came to a stop, then slowly turned around.
The thug had recovered incredibly fast and was concious again. Not only that, but his face seemed to be perfectly fine. Nothing on him, other than the blood from his nose earlier.
Ethan didn't appear remotely outwardly surprised, but on the inside he was now much more wary than before. How was that possible? He should be done.
Was it some sort of Qi, or?....
"Did you really think you could beat me? Let's end this."
The thug charged right at him again. Ethan saw him coming but didn't have much space to move around in the cramped hallway. Scowling, he dived off to the side as the other tried to tackle him down.
Ethan managed to dodge it, only to end up landing on the floor along with him. He'd have to move fast to get out of this situation. Quickly, Ethan pushed himself up sideways with one hand, throwing out a kick to the head.

Sylar moved out of the way, still running at the kid now on the floor, and kciked with all his might to the midsection area of where the kid was. He wouldn't have much room to maneuver so if this hit the kid would surely fly through the wall into the next room, or was it outside. If Sylar missed he would jump into the air to avoid the kids attack and would come down on top of the kid with a knee to the chest. Good luck.
(Sorry. bad post. try to work with it.

Ethan's kick missed, and he instead took one to the chest while he presented an easy horizontal target to the attacker. Ethan flew back through the wall and into the outside courtyard, ironically where another battle had taken place a several weeks before.
It had been a good blow. Ethan climbed to his feet shakily, resisting the urge to hold a hand to his aching chest. He was hurting now, but he could still fight on. He wouldn't go down easily. Spitting some blood out, he crouched low. He'd let his opponent come to him this time, dodge whatever he threw at him, and then counterattack.
