"Now carry the one. Good, good. Now you just multiply the two numbers then add the one to the total and your done!"
The guy grinned happily as he finished the problem, telling David he thought the problems were getting easier. He was proud of himself, as he should be- he had been working as hard as he promised these passed few weeks. He swore to do his best and to get things down if David would agree to tutor him. During all that time he never let up, and rarely got frustrated. It made the young Blaze proud to know that the boy felt secure enough to try and do some work on his own. He patted the boys shoulder, coming to his feet and walking a little distance to the vending machine. It was, surprisingly, peaceful. These last weeks had little incident and it made him feel good. Made him proud of the school he was in, that they were cleaning up their act and getting things done.
Time had obviously brought questions to his mind, questions that would probably go unanswered for extended periods but ones he could live without knowing. Such as where the school Captain was, where were any of the pillars, and what happened to Gabriel, the snotty rich kids and Emily. Ryuu, Trizen and everyone else of note in his mind seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. Or perhaps they were just laying low. He didn't mind that fact- it was their prerogative. Still, it would have been nice to see any one of them and to know that he wasn't the only one watching over these halls. He slipped a few coins into the slot, a bottled water popping out the dispenser at the bottom. He reached down, picking up the ice cold liquid and chugging about half of it.
He spilled a little, not paying total attention to the bottle in his rush to get a drink. Some spilled down on his plaid shirt, the sleeves rolled up to give him some air. His jeans went untouched, the faded blue adding a nice touch to the white and gray of his shoes. He glanced around himself, smiling a little.
Peace.
Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

'Gimme yer lunch money.'
'W-Whhat..? No way.'
'Give it to me, pipsqueak.'
A confrontation was occurring just down the hall. One of the varsity football players had pinned up a poindexter to the lockers, his intent obvious. It wasn't enough that he had money for his own lunch, he was a growing boy and obviously needed to eat everyone elses along the way.
It was at this time that Olesya was chilling by her locker, leaning against the wall with her foot propped up. Music was blaring through her headphones and her locker stood open. Hazel hues glanced over as the vibration of the football player slamming the boy against the locker reached her, jarring her from her thoughtful state. Normally Olesya would have started by solving it peacefully, at least that was what she did back when she was a pillar at 259.
But now? Now...something was different.
Taking out head earbuds, she threw her ipod back into her locker, closing it with a harsh snap. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 strides down to where the oaf was threatening the wimpy student. She didn't even bother announcing her presence, the junior simply grabbed the football player from the back of the neck. His surprise loosened the grip on the weak student right before, in a flash, Olesya threw him across the hall into the lockers opposite them. He collided with a resounding crash, leaving a handful of lockers dented as he crumpled to the ground.
The girl fixed the football player with her steely gaze, her lips pressed together emotionlessly as he slowly stumbled to his feet.

David sighed, turning away from the vending machine with the intent to go over the problems his prep student had been working on. Unfortunately, the student populace had other plans for him, David pausing and turning to the sound of an obnoxious voice and the squeeling of a freshman. He held the water bottle loosely between his middle and index finger on his right hand, walking through the small crowd in the lunch room toward the hallway the ruckus was coming from. He stepped around the corner, taking a quick glance behind him as he did so to see if any teachers were coming. As he turned back around, a large body was flying his way. He stepped to the left, the body flying into the lockers next to him.
His eyes traveled toward his starting point, fixating on a face he had not seen in ages. He stared at her for a couple of moments, wondering where she had popped up from. He spoke cautiously rather then openly- something was obviously wrong.
"Olesya?" His face was screwed up in slight confusion.
"Are- are you okay?" He looked behind him then back to her before she could speak. "Whats going on?"
David was, openly, a protector of the school, though not a pillar. He openly destroyed anyone who happened to break the rules of the school, and he thought Olesya was the same way. However, seeing her thrash somone made him wonder what ticked her off- he hoped it was a good reason. He felt he was friends with her, but if she was starting fights...
He tried his best to keep his distance, his body tensing slightly at the look on her face.
Yeah- something was up.

"Hm. David."
She replied to the voice, glancing over at him for a second before turning back to the football player who was huffing and groaning, his gorilla fists clenched. She approached him, grabbing him by the collar and hoisting him the rest of the way back to his feet.
"Just taking out the trash."
She cocked her fist back and released the tension like a heavy duty spring. Her fist connected with his face, sending him flying down the hallway. The freshman, realizing his freedom, gathered up his books in a hurry and took off. But he was of no interest to the ex-pillar. When she was varsity captain, it was her duty to protect the school. Though she had lost her title long ago, did it mean that her job ended? Absolutely not. This school was full of scum like that stupid jock, and they all needed to be taught a lesson.
'What the fuck is wrong with you? Crazy!'
The jock exclaimed, struggling his way to his feet once more. The corners of Olesya's mouth turned upward ever so slightly in response as she narrowed her eyes on her target.

Davids eyes widened slightly.
She picked the boy back to his feet, slamming her fist into his face once more, the audibly crack of bone on muscle sounding like a dinner bell. He watched her movements, wondering what happened to her- how did she get this strong? Where was that strange speed and confidence stemming from? He stepped in between her and her "target", giving her a soft look, but also a serious one. What she was doing was serious- anyone else, and he would have put them down already. He knew this kid- he had a reputation for picking on the younger ones. It could be that she was breaking it up- even so, she was going a little too far. He didnt even hear or see her ask him to apologize, or to leave the boy alone. She just assaulted him.
He brought up his hands, palms open and facing towards her as if telling her to-
"Calm down Les. There is no call for what your doing." He spread his feet a little apart to give himself a stable ground- she seemed like a loose cannon.
"I don't know why your acting this way but you have to stop. Fighting on school grounds isn't allowed- not until you've tried everything else." He took a deep, steadying breath. He didn't want to push her too far, but he couldn't just let what she was doing slide. He wanted to get her to calm down, to try and think rationally. He wasn't sure what was going through her head or why. He guessed, or hoped, he would find out later. He had dropped his water bottle before stepping in between her and the football boy.
"Don't continue down this path Les. Its not you."
His last words would hopefully reach her.
If they didn't....
He steeled himself for what he would have to do.

"Calm down Les. There is no call for what your doing."
David has stepped between her and her prey, what did he think he was doing? Olesya narrowed her eyes more, her devilish smile turning into a frown. He was preventing her from cleansing this school of its scum...why? WHY.
"I don't know why your acting this way but you have to stop. Fighting on school grounds isn't allowed- not until you've tried everything else. Don't continue down this path Les. Its not you."
His words, like those of the boy from the beach, were muffled sounding, like he was talking underwater or something. Olesya's frown deepened and she stepped up slowly to her old friend until she was nose to nose with him. Her hazel gaze penetrated his multicolored one, and she spoke quietly but strongly.
"Wasn't it you that said I needed to be strong in order to be a pillar? That the school system is full of assholes who will take any advantage that they can? That simply because I am a girl that I am automatically at a disadvantage in any given situation. "
David had been the one to demonstrate that when he tested her for pillarship. He had kissed her in the middle of a fight before sending her flying to the pavement. She wouldn't soon forget that, the fact that she had been weak and stupid.
"Well I have remedied that. No one dare stand up to me. I am ridding the school of the scum who think they can do what they wish and harm students. Why are you standing in my way.
It wasn't a question.

"There is a difference between earning respect and earning fear. When i said you were at a disadvantage, i meant when fighting or when your trying to talk to someone to get them to stop what they are doing. I didn't say you should stop asking them altogether."
He took a step back, letting her know that he wasnt going to get into a staredown. At the same time, his eyes hardened, as did his voice. He didnt like the sound of what she was saying. Every student, regardless of what he or she had done in the past deserved the right to try and change, to try and re-think thier actions. David could understand where she was coming from- he did the same thing. But he warned them first, told them to stop, to apologize, to clean up thier act. If they refused, or if they were repeat offenders, then and only then would he not give warning. Only then would he stop them physically. And he would do so quickly, not take time doing it to put on a show. His voice came out a little harsher.
"Your starting to sound like a Dragon Olesya. And i don't like it."
He Spoke the words he knew would likely set her off, but were ones he knew he wouldn't be able to avoid in her currently....strange mindset.
"I'm standing in your way because how you are doing this is wrong." His voice lowered slightly.
"And i won't move again- not until you calm down."

Olesya pursed her lips, resisting the urge to strike David where he stood. But he was her friend, David was her friend. ...A friend who deserted you...a traitor. She narrowed her eyes, forcibly opening her hands so that they weren't fists.
"I will cleanse this school of its disease, a disease that is crippling it from the inside. Anyone who stands in my way is a fool and a traitor."
She stepped back from him, though her gaze was still just as piercing. The football player, knowing better, had climbed to his feet and peaced out as well. Even he wasn't stupid enough to stick around when a crazy bitch was after his ass. With her prey gone, she had no reason to linger.
"Consider this your warning, David. I do not want to hurt you, but if you stand in my way I will have no other choice."
And with that she turned from him, pushing through the crowd that had gathered like cattle.

David eased his body of the tension as she turned her back on him.
"I'll always be here to protect the students. ALL of them, Les. And i'll destroy anyone who hurts them without just cause." His voice lowered, so she would probably barely hear him. "Even if its someone i care about."
He would then turn and leave. Olesya would calm down eventually, and he would talk to her then. Still, he would remember to keep an eye on her- if she kept doing this to students...
David shook his head clear.
He didn't want to think about it.
