I stood at the podium on the main stage in the old auditorium. With me was the mic to the PA system, as well as several teachers and students. Why was there a small gathering here? Because I had an announcement, and a very important one at that. I looked around the auditorium... Yes this was it.
"Students and Teachers of Moral Crest, this is Mr. Purple with an announcement. From this day forward, school runs not only Monday threw Friday, but now includes the previously excluded weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. Due to falling test scores and lack of improvement by both the student body and the staff giving instruction, the decision has been made to increase the school week to include all seven days of the week. I would apologize for this inconvenience, but I am threw with this lack of respect and moral discipline for the Education System. So although it is Friday, keep in mind that school will be in session tomorrow as well. If any are interested, there is a meeting about the new scheduling in the auditorium."
I was pretty sure that this was going to go exactly how Black planned... But only the students could confirm this.

That was it.
That was IT.
She had it with this guy, that Mister Purple. Classes every day of the week?! That's absurd! Six day classes was understandable, but seven!? SEVEN?! By God, these people are slave drivers. Do they want to kill their students?!
Emily was a little irritable today, having very little sleep from work and study. She had to study a bit harder due to the fact that this guy had made the exams purposely difficult, and Emily hated failing. A deep sigh to control her frustration, she entered the gym first with a cool head, though with a disposition to get a little infuriated.
That will all depend on the Teacher, should he still insist on the said retarded schedule. "What is the meaning of this...?" She asked, her arms crossed as she finally took a place at the front row of the auditorium. "Seven day classes? That's absurd!"
She wasn't raising her voice, if that was an issue.

"Emily..."
He said almost straight after the young lady had spoken up. The fifteen year old sophomore said to the other sophomore. The raven-haired boy was sitting beside her at the assembly simply because the pair of them had come from class a little earlier that day. Emily seemed... distracted... aggravated... something. The young boy felt like had a sense of responsibility towards her, though he believed that's always been there since he and Doctor Clavering got to know each other. When he knew her, it was during or after the Correctional Facility. Something like that. Before or after. During. Which ever it was, it was close enough.
'This is insane...' he thought as the young boy could feel the wrath of the students. It felt heated. Very heated. Trizen kept his eyes on Mr. Purple incase he decided to do something towards Emily. Anything at all and he could react. Well, at least he hoped he would. 'Seven days... what about my gigs? I can't study and play out every night!'
The boy knew he was smart, but school every day was something he knew he couldn't handle. The young musician would've needed some time to practise, work, something. Anything other than what they'd do with this school. It was ridiculous. But what of it? Change schools? Fight? The boy help like he had to keep his moral lines in check. He could get angry or follow what was happening before making any kind of judgement call. Though how not? The last thing he had in mind was that this was a joke. It had to be.

Sam sat with her mouth open, purely shocked. Seven days a week!? Could they even DO that!? There had to be some kind of rule against this. She sprinted to the auditorium, opening the door just in time to hear a white haired girl speaking to Mr. Purple himself, who stood at the podium facing them. She made her way to the front, taking a seat next to the girl and the boy next to her.
"She's right," she said, still incredulous. "We're being worn down enough as it is with all the extra homework. Some of us have jobs, and activities outside of school. We need the weekends to get everything done." Sam didn't have a job - she got enough money from her parents - but she knew that others did have jobs, and she herself had hours of dance classes that she attended on Saturdays and Sundays. How were they supposed to support themselves, go to school seven days a week, and actually keep grades up? It wasn't humanly possible.

Objections? Expected.
I knew this would happen... More objections and more debating. For what? Did these kids realize who the fuck I am? I am Mr. FUCKING PURPLE I could close this school down if I wanted to, which I do...
"Seven day classes? That's absurd!"
Bleh... I had no time for this. If it was just going to lead to another riot then why weren't the children fighting already? Did I need to force something to happen?
"She's right, We're being worn down enough as it is with all the extra homework. Some of us have jobs, and activities outside of school. We need the weekends to get everything done."
Yeah... I'm done.
"Children, your grades are not improving. You are failing worse than before. How can you all expect to pass if you don't learn anything? I know that by forcing you sorry excuses for students to attend school daily, I might get some kind of results!"
My response was directed toward the girls, but I was sure the boy between them was here to object as well.

"You might also get a whole lot of pissed off students.."
Travis would soon make his way into the room. And as soon as he had stepped inside, those ice blues scanned the students currently present, and the only one he actually knew was Emily. So it seemed that he really wasn't going to be the only one here. Though he kind of figured that out. After all, forcing kids who already hated going to school five days a week, to do none stop schooling wasn't going to have a good turn out at all.
Emily.. Too bad I couldn't have seen her again on better terms.
Travis himself was rather annoyed by this. after all, that last thing he wanted to be doing on his weekends was going to school. He didn't really know what he was trying to achieve by coming here to this meeting, but he had no intentions of simply not doing anything. Like most of the students that would show up today, he figured they would all object. And that there would end up being some trouble here. And Travis definitely wasn't the type to miss some good fun. Especially if it was going to be violent.
"You've gotta be out of your fuckin' mind if you think I'm gonna let you people tell me I have to spend everyday of the week here with no break."

Well now, this was one doozey of a meeting... By looking around, I saw a lot of familiar faces, none of them being too happy to hear about Purple's new little, erm... change to the school system. As a Pillar, it was my job to defend the people of this school, and though this wasn't an attack on them physically, it was one against them emotionally and mentally...
The part about this that hurt the most though... was that he was right... The status of this school WAS awful... Students WERE failing left and right- and not just normal failing... epic fucking failing. The kind of fail that can only be dreamed of. Purple and Orange, in their own twisted way, REALLY WERE trying to help the school...
But... I knew from the time spent with Vaughn Clarke, that this could never be... Damien and I had put our faith in Vaughn Clarke's reform, thinking it would change everything... but what did he get for his work? His death. It was a true testament to the capabilities of these reject fucking students.
And so began the uproar... Students were all shouting their hate-filled words at Purple, caring not for what he may do- if anything. Travis especially tried to push the envelope, but I knew from speaking to Purple personally, that he was not to be triffled with...
Deciding to do my job, I approached the podium and giving a slight nod to Purple, showed him I was making no hostile action. Once at the podium and when I was sure I had everyone's attention, I spoke.
"People, will you all be quiet for a minute and listen?" I paused, making sure every word was sinking in. "This man and his partner, Orange, are here on behalf of the School Board. It is their JOB to make sure that schools are passing their exams and SAT tests. Granted, this man IS taking things to an extreme, but it is an extreme we have brought upon ourselves. The increased homework was his warning and we did not listen. Now, he sends a drastic ultimatum..." I shrugged and turned to Purple. "Sir, what you are doing has all good intentions, but this is taking it too far. Please, on behalf of the school and the students, reconsider. Give us another chance to show you that we have it in us."
OOC- Attempting diplomacy with a charisma check.

This would be the final straw for the school. The school board was changing the very fundamental thing that made the learning system work. Seven days of school was not in working for the students here. The already simple-minded kids would be crushed, nigh, devastated with the new inquisition. Rather, this whole situation could be thought of as a crusade. A drastic overreaction that was compensating for all of the wrong problems.
Thirteen managed to get into the auditorium on time to hear Damien Kross take his turn to the podium, and to be honest, it was actually quite good...very moving, and true to the most point. Except for one specific part. They were not here to increase test scores. They were here to make sure there weren't going to be anymore test scores. This school was dismal, why save an institution that was...according to these recent moves, going to tear the school apart.
Thirteen wanted her say.
And she would get it, short as she was, blind as she was...she wasn't lacking in mind.
"Agreed. The fundamental system is being broken even farther with this move, much like putting blocks of C4 on an old rusting bridge...instead of replacing the few broken beams that are breaking the structure...you're tearing down the whole bridge."
She stopped a moment and elaborated on Damien's speech.
"The kids here, like myself rely on 42, this bridge to be our future. It's the students problem if they don't choose to take it. To be honest, we never had problems with rioting or test scores until now. The extra work is choking what life existed here...it's making your job easier...but at the sacrifice of hundreds."

Stu was graduated. Yes, he shouldn't be here. But, then again, what was wrong with ghosting an old haunt? He stood at the back of the auditorium, that long great coat that he always wore secretly concealing that metallic tube of destruction that he kept on his person at all times.
He had folded arms, and watched as the people began the uprising. He remembered something like this happening at 259, when the auditorium was full of rambunctious students who were upset at the leaders who were instituting something. It ended in the death of a student, by Unfettered, his friend. He had implanted a metal chair leg through the boy's chest, though the boy had blinded him.
But now Stu stood here, silent guardian of the masses below. He didn't care for the politics. He had only a few real targets, none of which would be done in this day. However, Stu couldn't help but be curious as to how the Pillars would respond here. He smiled and continued the watch...

OoC- I will post every 3 replies with Mr.Purple. He posses a Qi, like most quest characters, however you all will not be told what it is. You will have to figure it out ^_^ Enjoy.
IC-
Ugh more hard heads. I didn't know who this one student was, but apparently he thought he was 'The shit'. How rediculous... I should show this lil prick just what kind of reaction I am prepared to give to that kind of a lack of respect. Just then however, Damien came up on the stage.
I respectfully stepped back as Damien took the podium, and then listened carefully to his speech.
Now, he sends a drastic ultimatum... Sir, what you are doing has all good intentions, but this is taking it too far. Please, on behalf of the school and the students, reconsider. Give us another chance to show you that we have it in us."
Hmm... I knew that my policies were harsh and misunderstood, but I was a man of little patients and what little I did have, had run out. It did not take long for that girl to appear again... That blind one.
"The kids here, like myself rely on 42, this bridge to be our future. It's the students problem if they don't choose to take it. To be honest, we never had problems with rioting or test scores until now. The extra work is choking what life existed here...it's making your job easier...but at the sacrifice of hundreds."
Ok... Boo fucking hoo.
"Well I have had just about enough of this back talk and out right disrespect." With that having been said, I walked up to the podium, pulled it out from in front of the Pillar, and tossed it at the boy that entered MY meeting mouthing off(Travis). This would look rather strange to the children I am sure, because my eyes were glowing with that deep radiating purple. I had not picked up the podium with my hands, no that was for the weak. I had thrown the podium with my mind.
"If there are any other objections I would be more than happy to settle them with all of you now."
OoC- Charisma check failed. Cute tho ^_-

School changed to every day of the week? Gabriel sat in a chair amongst the small crowd that had bothered to gather there, he was rather intent upon keeping himself unnoticed. There were things that needed to be dealt with and he couldn’t risk losing anymore. Mr. Purple seemed to be an excellent fire starter, the crowd was upset and bustling about, the guy had to be rather strong or very stupid. Gabriel leaned back with a wry grin as he tightened the fit on his glove, a single glove covered his right hand it’s black texture remnant of a latex fix. His eyes danced over all those with enough courage to stand up.
They were fiery, but not yet at their breaking point, it would seem as though some were willing to negotiate they must have been afraid. Gabriel grinned again, not time yet, when they’re at their breaking point that’s when it will be called for.
"People, will you all be quiet for a minute and listen. This man and his partner, Orange, are here on behalf of the School Board. It is their JOB to make sure that schools are passing their exams and SAT tests. Granted, this man IS taking things to an extreme, but it is an extreme we have brought upon ourselves. Please, on behalf of the school and the students, reconsider. Give us another chance to show you that we have it in us."
Gabriel made a small laugh in the back almost assured it would bring him attention. The pillar he’d met at the party the media director, now Gabriel saw who he was, he hadn’t a spine. It would appear as much and Gabriel would extort it when the time came.

Matrim had been taking his time walking to the meeting. He heard the announcement, and more than that he heard a few students bitching about it on the way to the auditorium. The fact was, Matrim had been disappointed with his athletes as well. Because of all of this homework there wasn't time for sports which made him pretty much useless as a Pillar if he couldn't even enforce the student body. What could he possibly do besides fight? Besides being the muscle of the pillars to end riots. Besides fighting in a war like atmosphere where he lost control in the fights.
Why the hell am I even a Pillar here.... they are damned lucky I care.
Matrim entered the room, and walked up towards the front area. He had walked in to see his fellow Pillar there. He walked over and took a seat where he could clearly see Purple. He would keep the peace if anything happened. But he was trying to decide what the best situation was. His hands in front of his face, finger tips touching.
Not like I was doing anything with my weekends. Sports programs were already a no-go. On the hole this doesn't hurt me any more. Just pisses off the students more, but I like classes. I like what I'm learning. For once I'm doing good in school, and I'm actually participating. If these kids knew about Paragon they'd think differently. The school that was a prison, with the teachers qualified prison guards with Qi's strong enough to kill. Artemis Chekov shooting and killing a kid at the orientation itself for no reason other then show that she could.....
A bit of anger swelled in Matrim, but he calmed it down. If he stood up and fought for the students he would show a disapproval for the school board, it would inadvertently support an uprising against him, but if he stood up and spoke on behalf of Purple the students would lash out at Matrim and the Pillars themselves using it as an excuse to not like them. The best option?
To sit down and shut the fuck up.
Just go with the flow.... do my part, lead by example, and try to convince others to do the same... I will save this school no matter the costs, or I will try. In the end, I'll be able to say I tried.

"If there are any other objections I would be more than happy to settle them with all of you now."
How odd for him to say that after he threw a podium at some guy who objected with his mind. Yet, it were one of those moments where if someone didn't speak now they had to forever hold their peace or something of that sort. Leanne wasn't going to mouth off at the new guy, nor was she going to jump up and create this mob to kill the guy just for adding two more school days and taking out whatever break students had to look forward to. Hopefully Mr.Purple wouldn't use his mind to throw something at her or do some weird things like the X-men Professor Xavier or something like that!
It just didn't seem realistic enough to begin with. Yes, sure, people said it was exaggerated but what about the other side of things? There were extreme consequences to this implementation.
"Sir." Leanne would say with her hand up before she stood up to speak, "I find that seven days of school is too extreme. There are students like myself who need to pull two to three jobs or maybe even more to support themselves and their families. If you take away the weekend we cannot earn enough money for our family's living expenses. If we do keep these jobs persay, we would have even less time to do our homework which means lower SAT scores and grades which you want to improve.
Moreover, without a break and the sense of liberation, any student would feel as though the school is more of a prison than it already is which would have psychological affects on the students' mind. Wouldn't it be more demotivational? If we have no drive to do well, no motivation or even the physical ability to stay away and focus because of being forced to focus without any breaks, I'm afraid that would hinder our learning abilities as well."
Leanne paused.
"I'm sorry if I sound too ignorant, but this is my concern sir."

This was sad... I finally lose my cool and who is here? All the school's smart students, the ones that were NOT failing. Well this would happen, life is such a joke sometimes.
More students began to appear, and yet another waltzed in voicing her opinion. Perhaps I was wrong when I called this a meeting, because really it wasn't one. I had my orders, and I was given two options with which I could proceed. I chose what I chose and no amount of talking was going to reverse my decision. I should have just closed down this school, but Black insisted that I try this full time approach. God did I hate disorganized chaos... Even my plans were not my own now.
I took a few steps forward till I was standing next to where the podium once was.
"Students, this is the way things are from now on. If you would like, you may opt for a transfer to another learning facility. However, my decision regarding this school and the new full time schedule, are no longer up for debate. I suggest that you file for transfer in the main office now, before another riot breaks out." I smiled as I provoked the idea of another full scale student riot. This school was threw, and now I just needed the students to tear it down for me.

Post by Adrian on Apr 20, 2009 3:53:13 GMT -5
Adrian had heard the PA announcement, and, hearing of the ruckus beginning to get fired up in the auditorium, decided to make his way there as well. He had heard the announcements, seen the renovations, but had, til this point, done and said nothing. For the most part, he figured nothing he would say would help matters much, anyway. He was only the vaguest of talkers, most of the time, he was the one hitting things. Thankfully, he was bright enough and worked hard enough in his off-time that he wasn't one of the failing students, though it was through no real personal gift of his own. It was just that, in the end, high school really isn't that hard.
As Adrian opened the door, he saw a podium being flung towards Travis. For one split-second, Adrian, without a second thought as to who the guy was, rushed forward the few steps necessary, ducking Travis's head with one hand and swinging his other out hard into the podium, cracking it into two pieces that landed to either side of the two boys harmlessly. Adrian let out a small breath, having just caught the last few words of the purple-dressed man. There were few words that followed, most were simple pathetic pleas for the man to reconsider. Adrian shook his head, after nodded an acknowledgment of Travis's existence, considering his spatial nearness to the boy.
Adrian turned back to the doors of the auditorium, closing them shut and locking them, leaving no more students to be able to enter the auditorium through the conventional means. He had heard this kind of talk before. It was business-speak. When its time for a manager to fire an employee, he adopts this tone. When one business enters a 'merger' with another, one that clearly is a case of one company buying out another through sheer force or bullying contracts, the businessman in charge adopts this tone. When a man either is getting, or has already gotten what he wants, this is the tone he speaks in.
With the doors locked, Adrian would not give this man what he wanted.
Wordlessly, Adrian walked over to where Matrim was sitting, and took a seat next to him. He nodded to him and leaned over, whispering orders, of a sort, to him.
"He's looking to start another riot. He wants us to attack him. Call Linda, tell her to start organizing any pillar supporters to quell any student outbursts to this as best as possible. You may need to help her. I'll stay here with Damien, and keep these people in here calm. I don't know where this will lead us, but if we can keep anyone from attacking anyone, we may yet see through this. I've locked the auditorium doors, just lock them behind you if you feel you should go out with Linda."
Adrian leaned back into his seat and scanned the crowd for people. The non-pillars, he did not recognize, save for Emily. His eyes looked up to the Jester, and he held his gaze until their eyes met. He had not forgiven this one, oh no, but for now, there was much more important things to worry about than who's screwing who.
His lips would move quietly but pronounced enough for Jester to see. Being a master of Sound Qi, Adrian figured lip-reading would be easy enough for him.
Keep talking.
