"I'm not going to say it again. Kill it."
"But Sir... you do understand that--"
'... What... where...?'
"The boy has been out for eight days. EIGHT DAYS! Slim to no brain activity, numerous surgeries on his muscle tissue, reconstructive bone surgeries--"
'Eight days... wait... is that... my father?'
"Sir, I am very aware, as your Doctor, that these hospital fees have been a bit overbearing but--"
"Overbearing? Pft, I spent the money on this boy to please my wife. Not to mention that boy, Matrix or whatever be it, admitted him here. Not I."
'Ouch... glad to know nothing's changed...'
"I just think you're making a mistake wanting to pull the plug on your son, Mister Takano. I know the family has gone through a lot, but if he's anything like you--"
"He's nothing like me. If he was stronger, he would have survived this ordeal."
'What? No! I am alive! C'mon Doc, tell him! I'm alive! Wait... why can't I speak? And... I can't move either. What's happening? Wait... I--'
"Mister Takano, your son is very much alive. He has a pulse and his brain activity has been growing steadily every day."
'Yeah! That's the way! But that still doesn't explain why I'm--'
"Look. You're really starting to piss me off little man. I'd rather that boy be dead then have him live like a vegetable the rest of his life. It stains the family reputation."
"Please.. let go, you're choking me--"
"That's precisely how the boy would feel if he was awake to know he has severe nerve damage."
'N-nerve... damage?'
"We wouldn't know if he's awake or n-not to be honest... w-with those bandages wrapped around his eyes. And even then, we won't know if he'll ever be able to see again."
'I'm... blind?'
*Cough Cough*
"Pl-please reconsider pulling the life-support from your son. We don't know if the surgery has worked yet... we don't know if he'll be able to move, speak or see again. We just need time."
Yukimura Takano let go of the skinny brown doctor's neck and grunted. The doctor quickly made his way out the door and closed it behind him.
"Poor excuse for a son. You are certainly no heir for the family name. Your heart and spirit disgust me. You should have died in that explosion." Trizen's father turned around to face the window. It was a bright, sunny day outside. Quite the opposite from the intensity within the room.
And while his father peered to look at the happening in Los Angeles, Trizen's tear ducts were open. Through the bandages came two small tears from both eyes.
'Maybe... he's right.'

Gabriel hadn't heard word of Trizen's untimely arrival into the hospital, his whole purpose however was to check in on some others he'd sent there. Emily and Ryuu were still there and it was all thanks to him. He was saddened and in the same instant he needed to see them safe.
Your fault.
Do something worthwhile you waste!
The voices called out, though they were accompanied by another disapproving voice.
"Mister Takano, your son is very much alive."
Takano? Was that Trizen? how did he get here? Gabriel came in at a slow pace, curious and unwavering. He didn't understand what to think of it all. Emerald eyes set themselves upon a worried doctor and an angered father. He didn't understand the situation but Trizen was here he was alive and for the moment safe.
"Trizen...?" Gabriel said with his lips quivering lightly, the sorrow was meant for the others but had found itself being for the young man he'd sought out earlier on, what had happened? Who would deserve punishment?

Matrim walked into the room after cleaning his glasses with his shirt and placing them on to get a clear look at the scene. He had heard the last few words out of Trizen's father's mouth and Matrim was definitely one of the more aggressive types. He didn't give a damn whether Trizen's father liked him or not, Matrim was protective of Trizen, "I would sooner kick you out that window than let you pull the plug on this kid."
Matrim walked up and looked at Trizen carefully, observing him somewhat. He was trying to stay informed on Trizen's situation after the Orange fiasco since he was the reason it worked so well. Matrim had plenty of experience with nerve damage injuries, strangely enough he knew first hand a certain technologically advanced green haired boy that happened to get over his own. But after all the surgeries Matrim had gone through, he doubted Trizen would have many problems.
"He fought bravely, he knew what the blast would do and rather than get out of the way he took on his enemy to make sure he couldn't get away. This kids no heir to your family name, this kid here," Matrim said patting a hand on Trizen's knee, "Is far above any name filth like you could offer him."
Matrim ignored the presence of Gabriel until now, focusing on the father this entire time, but only after he said his speech would he even acknowledge Gabriel by looking over at him. "And you can get the fuck away from him too while you're at it."

The doctor had left around the time Gabriel entered, and Yukimura Takano was still facing the window. He heard the boy and was unmoved. His broad shoulders barely flinching as he took a full, deep breath and released it just as slowly. Simply said, Trizen father was a hulk of a man, and it was hard to believe on seeing him that he was one of the world's most graceful pianists. His compositions being equally serene. But that was not the case when one spoke to him. Clearly not. "Nerve damage. He won't be able to talk to you," Yukimura said still looking outside the window, "I'm to assume you are one of his... "friends" from school? Tch, interesting how you managed to escape unscathed. You were at the scene, were you not?"Then he heard the other voice. It was... not braver but... well, it was that same boy he read about earlier. The one that admitted him in this damned hospital. "So young. So carefree. So much of a man, aren't you?" Yukimura's voice was bass heavy, slow and on saying the right thing, might be seen as some kind of conscious serial killer. "Matrim, is it? Why do you sound so responsible for Trizen? He's not your kin, your blood or his legal guardian. Do you feel responsible for him being in here?"

Gabriel sobered up when Matrim made it one scene and at his comment grew furious with a fiery rage. His fingers clenched taughtly over one another and his teeth cleched tightly. He closed his eyes and relaxed a little over the three seconds he was given. and was calm again. Save anger for a better day not over Trizen's hospital bed.
Gabriel walked to his side and knelt ignoring the two larger men. They were not his concern here he didn't care this time. Wars were meant for gain and he'd have no war that the losses were too severe. Trizen was... not expendable. Gabriel knelt to his side and whispered calmly so that the others couldn't hear, "I will see the one responsible for this and have them know their sins."
He stood and turned to the other men without acknowledging either he walked to the door and paused.
"It pains me to see a world like this..." His eyes closed again

Emily had missed most of the action, but she was there. This was her hospital they were meeting at after all. She worked here, and had hoped to continue working here until she graduated from college to do some actual medical work besides washing feces and changing adult diapers and such. She wasn't a nurse yet, but she had a caregiving certification. Oh the irony. Taking her chart with her, Emily was assigned to this room to check some older nursing aid's work. Oh, boy. Did she see a scene there.
She was in front of Gabriel at this moment, as the door opened. She over heard what he said. "Only God can pass judgement on what's a sin and what's not." She said with a slightly hostile tone, finally opening her mouth. "Excuse me, I have to check on my patient."
She still didn't really forget what Trizen did to her. She was only human, and took a while to forgive.
As soon as Gabriel would move from the door, Emily would enter donning a nurse's scrubs, her white hair tied up into a neat bun. She seemed to know her job well in spite of her youth, which more or less gained a bit of appreciation from doctors and nurses from this place. So Gabriel was here, as well as Matrim, but who the heck was this guy? Might as well do her job. She nodded to Matrim in acknowedgement, before standing by Trizen's bedside. "Okay, Trizen. I'm going to check if you're still alive, mm?"
She looked at the monitor. His vitals were perfectly within the normal range. Emily was scribbling something on the chart before she began checking the other pages and taking what looked like another pen from her pocket. It was a penlight. Turning it on, Emily would pry open the comatosed Trizen's eyes with a a thumb and an index finger, swishing the light over and over his eyes. Interestingly, it was responding. He was still reactive to light. "Responsive to light, vitals are normal, wounds are healing exactly as they should. He's alive."

"I'm trying to tell you that i'm his damned friend!"
"I'm sorry sir, but there are too many people in the room as it is. You'll have to wait until someone leaves-"
A loud beeping noise took the focus of the nurse behind the desk, forcing her to turn around and grab the phone. With her back to the you Blaze, she began speaking with, judging by the laughter, an old friend. David looked down at his watch, tapping his foot impatiently. He looked around before letting out a small exhale.
"Oh fuck this."
He turned and walked off, heading in the direction of the young takano. He looked in each room, only knowing what floor level he was on and, with the woman being so cooperative, knew that Emily was the nure in charge. Luckily, it didnt take him long to recognize voices- one being Gabriel, the other being Matrim telling him to fuck off, or something. He couldnt quite make it out. He knocked on the door before entering, his left hand in his pocket, his coat held in his knocking hand. He entered, giving Matrim and gabriel each a small nod before coming up along side Trizen. He looked the boy over, his face slightly screwed up in concern. He looked at emily without speaking to the man who was obviously his father.
"What happened to him?"
David was, currently, unaware of who did what and when in the whole ordeal with Orange. All he knew was that it left catastrophic damage to the school.

"Matrim, is it? Why do you sound so responsible for Trizen? He's not your kin, your blood or his legal guardian. Do you feel responsible for him being in here?"
"He is a student of Moral Crest High, and as such he is my responsibility," Matrim said, and when Gabriel walked up and walked to the door Matrim crossed his fingers that it would mean he was going to leave. In any case, he said something.
"It pains me to see a world like this..."
"Then leave it," Matrim said coldly. Gabriel was just one of those people who set him off. Perhaps it was the fire, or perhaps it was just because he didn't give Matrim that hug. Either way, he didn't take kindly to Gabriel. Emily came in, confirming that Trizen was alive, Matrim's focus was still on Trizens father, even as David Blaze came in Matrim was resisting the urge to kick Trizens father out of the window. The only reason he didn't being because Trizen probably cared for his father no matter how cruel he was.
"What happened to him?"
"School Board Rep. A guy named Mr. Orange, though I'm guessing that isn't the name he was born with. A lot has been going on if you haven't heard, the school lost an entire building you know? Trizen was in the front lines of the fight with Orange. He sacrificed himself to make sure we won the fight, nobody asked him to he just sort of did what he thought he needed to do. I got him out of there before the building collapsed, along with two others, but he was still pretty badly hurt."
Matrim's eyes the entire time, still focused on his father.

From his bed, Trizen felt a flare of some kind. He felt the room get warmer, then suddenly drift in temperature.
'Was that a vibe?' The young one thought to himself as he heard familiar footsteps walk away from the bedside. 'That was Gabriel?'
"I will see the one responsible for this and have them know their sins." That's what Gabriel whispered in his left ear. If Trizen was able to quiver, he probably would have. Though the one responsible. Wasn't that Mr. Orange? Or was there something more to this whole story?
On Gabriel saying his last bit, Yukimura scoffed. It was almost sickening to hear anyone be so sincere about a world they didn't understand. The boy was still in high school afterall. A minor.
The door opened again and this time a young nurse walked in. Yukimura did not flinch, turn around or even blink when the young girl mentioned that she was going to see if Trizen was alive. Despite the father's obvious optimism, Yukimura knew Trizen was alive. It was to his own dismay.
'ACK! What's that?'
"Responsive to light, vitals are normal, wounds are healing exactly as they should. He's alive."
David came in next and he was his usual self. Yukimura still hadn't turned around, though was still facing the window. Blaze asked what happened and that familiar one, Matrim, responded. Though what Matrim had said earlier sparked a laugh in the older man. A slow, deep, darkened laugh.
"Moral Crest High... the school of many plots and delusions of grandeur." The large, hulk of a man turned to eye the other students. Firstly speaking to the one who eyed him the hardest. "You are the School's Captain and yet you do not know..."
Yukimura Takano stopped himself. Not everything was to be said right away. He cleared his throat, ready to address everyone as they stood. "My partners and I are making ourselves available to donate money to rebuild the section of your school that was destroyed. Papers are already in the works and will be signed tomorrow morning. Consider this a thank you for... saving... that boy."
It was almost sickening the way Yukimura referred to Trizen as such. It was clear that the boy had been hiding such a skeleton from ever getting out of the closet.
"Though in all honesty, I was hoping for Mr. Orange and Mr. Purple to do more than just throw a tantrum. I knew they would not fully succeed in their plot, seeing as how well I remember you all well from Public High School 259. Hell, I remember the majority of you when you all raided the Correctional Facility... that was certainly an inspiring day." He laughed again.
'He knew about the raid? But... how?'
Yukimura's eyes then looked to the boy. He put on his famous grin, one Trizen had genetically adopted. If it was not obvious from here to read, it was certainly clear to Trizen: Yukimura was reading his thoughts.

Gabriel didn't turn as he received the threat from Matrim rather he turned as Emily made her way past him. She brushed him off as lightly as he'd expected though it sent more hurt to him than anything the Captain could have said in fact he ignored the fool. Rather than get angry he'd simply deal with those he needed to speak with and for now it was Emily and Trizen, perhaps Blaze so long as their usual arguments could be avoided. When it all boiled down they were all kin to one another.
Gabriel's head turned up to Mr. Takano, a look of rather uncaring docility. Despite the face Gabriel already made his opinion on the man. Money grubbing and uncaring. Cold and ruthless. He didn't care for his sons well being he wanted rather some dynasty family. All with their designs after his own.
"Don't worry about payments, I'll take responsibility for Trizen's health care." Gabriel offered up his own wealth to cover the boy's well being for deep down he saw the future in Trizen. Not the near future but some time after Blaze and Gabriel had passed by, their times were at apex but Trizen's was just coming on the horizon.

Ryuu, for the most part, had kept silent during all the commotion and chaos. He was leaning up against the wall beside the door, his arms folded across his chest, his eyes closed as he focused, blocking out all the noises surrounding him. He had come in with Emily, entering behind her, and while he had missed most of the action, the action he did witness, he kept to himself. Not because he didn't have an opinion in the matter, but because Matrim had pretty much said what Ryuu had been thinking. However, when Ryuu heard what Mr. Takano said about how he was hoping Mr. Orange and Purple would do more than just throw a tantrum, Ryuu could no longer ignore it, as his eyes snapped open. "You do not care about Trizen, yet you wish for the School Board Representatives to cause more damage to the school that your son, as well as us who are his friends, go to? You may be powerful Mr. Takano, but your attitude stinks." Ryuu said quietly, continuing to stay by his perch against the wall. "Is it worth risking the lives of countless students in the wish of an escalated fight, just because you care not for Trizen?"
It disgusted Ryuu the way Mr. Takano referred to Trizen as "boy." Ryuu's father was just as rich and powerful as Mr. Takano, but unlike him, Ryuu's father, Kane Hikari, treated Ryuu with respect, and loved him just as much as he loved Kyoko, Ryuu's older sister. "While it is appreciated that your partners and yourself are donating money to rebuild the part of the school that had been destroyed, I find it hard to believe that you did it out of the kindness of your own heart, and more to do with the fact that it'll make your image look fine and dandy." Ryuu knew about image more than anything else, his father wasn't the head of Hikari Industries for nothing, but he kept his public image and his private image completely separate from each other, never melding the two with each other. Ryuu gave Gabriel a fleeting glance when he said he would cover Trizen's health care payments, before focusing back on Mr. Takano, the cool and calm expression never wavering from his face, despite the grin Mr. Takano had on his face. "You're not the only one who knows about image, Mr. Takano. My father is just as rich and powerful as you are."

Emily dropped the chart in shock. Did he mention the correctional facility? She hid her face in a shadow as she further listened to the conversation, picking up the chart on the carpeted floor.
All these rich people around her, talking about power... image... all that stuff that concerned only those at the top. Not to mention a reminder of that day when Emily saw a man die to try and save her. A part of this girl wanted to hit the older Takano, but knew it would only prove him right about the students. "... You had something to do with that... that... monster of a place...?" She looked at the Takano, her eyes uncharacteristically flaring with hate in spite of her calm (and almost stoic tone).
She was a prisoner in that place for months.
Alone.
Tortured.
Defiled.
"You know nothing about us. Nothing." She said, turning towards Yukimura with a face that seemed to show no Emotion. It was a dark side to Emily that she had not shown for a long time, but memories of that time led her to that state of mind. It was so uncharacteristic that Emily almost sounded creepy.
The warmth was gone, at least for this moment.

Mister Takano had his arms placed behind his back as he stood in strong confidence. Or arrogance. The interpretation was there. He watched everyone and scoffed in complete disregard to Gabriel's request. There was no answer needed.
Then the familiar one spoke. He was another one of those boys who looked familiar, not for anything that had to do with the raids. No. This boy looked like a businessman's son. He talked like a businessman's son. He spoke like... No, it couldn't possibly be. Yukimura raised a brow. Was it possible. The brow sat back in its normal resting place. This boy was on a rant. An angry one. What was his deal? Oh... yes, now Yukimura saw it. There were a lot more layers beneath it all. Unspoken history.
"Boy. You know nothing about power. Your father, yes I'm certain he has a better understanding of the darkness implied and the struggle to keep an honourable name with such power. But Mr. Hikari and I deal in different circles. Though that's not to say our paths haven't crossed once or twice..." The last bit he said with a bit of a chuckle. "You seem like a good boy. You should always learn to keep your trap shut when that's all you have for yourself."
Yukimura Takano grew tired of standing an debating with children. It was clear that they were only interested in the boy. His son. Trizen. Not to mention he was glad for it. Gave him an excuse to let the boy rot in his corpse and allow his friends to watch. His footsteps were slow, effortless and meant for intimidation as he made his way past Matrim, David and Gabriel. As Mister Takano overshadowed the handle of the door, he felt a presence change in the room. More of one than he had felt before. It was the nurse, Emily. She had suddenly grown dark.
He opened the door and stood halfway between the in and out of the room. She was angry. Her warmth was gone. She was... colder and this impressed the hulk of a man. He smirked as he turned halfway around to look at everyone. "I know as much about you all that I need to know."
With that, Yukimura slammed the door behind him. And as the room shook slightly, Trizen suddenly took a deep breath in. Almost as though he had been released from a chokehold. He coughed a few time and hoped to move his body, but he couldn't even still. But... something... happened...
"Emily...? R-Ryuu...? I can't see... who else is here?"

"Emily...? R-Ryuu...? I can't see... who else is here?"
"You're a dumbass you know that right?" Matrim said, he was still staring at the spot his father had been standing, still completely focused on it, wanting to shift time back somehow so he could kick the man out the window to his death. Just because he was pissed off, "Next time if you want to die, don't make yourself a martyr for me, got that? I don't need any corpses aside from my own. As for your injuries, good luck with that."
Matrim who was pissed off walked over to Emily, placing a hand on her shoulder, he leaned in and whispered into her ear something that only she would hear, "Take good care of him, and try to let go of that anger in you... it doesn't suit you, okay? So cheer up a little..."
Matrim began to head out, "When your feeling better I expect to see you back at school. I'll have someone bring your homework for you while you're out."
Glad that's over with....
Matrim left, raising his right hand as he did so, exiting the room leaving the group to talk amongst themselves. He may have seemed a little cold to Trizen, but that's how he was. He didn't need Trizen to throw himself in the middle of that explosion, Orange was slow enough as it was, and while Trizen was brave... Matrim really didn't want any more blood on his hands. He had enough to feel guilty about as it was. Now that Trizen was awake, he could get that off his chest and leave him in the hands of the hospital.

Gabriel's eyes surveyed the situation, such anger was only a gateway to weakness. He enjoyed it secretly holding up the facade of complete despotism. He could fool them, the great magician Gabriel Seran. A front of such magnitude eluded them all to his final trick. He wouldn't smile on the surface but Matrim made him laugh a bit. He made way when he spoke with Emily for whatever purpose he instantly suspected the worst. Touche Matrim seems he isn't the dumbest of the lot a fair game to be played in the future of things though there was no time for that kind of game.
Gabriel held his position eagerly as the father of Trizen made his escape. He proved a useful tool, perhaps the future could tell when their paths would meet again. The others were the potential targets to observe as well. Emily's rage, he'd only seen it once to that magnitude before but now it stood out. Interesting the Correctional Facility caused that much harm in her mind. Good certainly another tool to be used. Ryuu as passionate and calm witted as usual, thought there was an extent to that. The man wasn't cornered, to be cornered was to find the truth behind a man. Everything was to fall in place soon enough.
"Emily...? R-Ryuu...? I can't see... who else is here?"
Gabriel nodded, Trizen would have to be used as well however much Gabriel was opposed to using the boy Reven would not allow for his exclusion either. The pieces were in place and the game was about to begin.
