"And Captain Obvious saves the day again..." Ryuu ignored Trizen's comment, though it did puzzle him a bit as to why Trizen sounded a bit annoyed, then he reminded himself to mind his own business. Minding his own business is what kept him out of trouble most of the time. Trizen then asked Emily if she had anyone else with her that night and ask the people who might have seen what happened, as Ryuu nodded in agreement, keeping silent for the most part. "Who else was there that night? Before you blacked out, I mean." Ryuu looked at Emily, who paused a bit before answering, telling them that she had no one else with her at the time, and it was around midnight when he had called her, thinking that it wouldn't have amounted to this. He then saw her strain to pull herself forward after shrugging, as the upper part of the bed was raised to a 45 degrees angle, allowing her to sit up comfortably.
He smiled slightly when she smiled and commented that hospital beds were fun, lightening the mood considerably, as he shoved his hands into his pockets. Seeing as they had no evidence against Gabriel, Ryuu would leave it at that. He truly wanted to believe Gabriel didn't do this, and prayed with all his heart, that he was wrong, for once. "Ah, I want to be discharged soon... I'm worried about my cat." "You're stuck in the hospital with electrocution burns, and your worried about your cat?" Ryuu laughed, as he smiled at her. "YOU, need to rest and get better, before even thinking of being discharged. I'll check up on your cat at your house." Ryuu shrugged, his hands still in his pockets. "If you don't rest, you'll never be allowed to go home and see your cat," Ryuu said seriously, looking at Emily, "And I don't want to hear any 'and's,' 'if's,' or 'but's'."

Still leaning against the wall, Trizen lowered his eyes and unfolded his arms. It was here that the boy decided it was his time to go.
"Alright you guys," he said on pushing off the wall; nodding once in agreement to his thoughts, "I'm gonna head out. I have to head out to work pretty soon."
It was a partial lie. Trizen had a performance that night in one of the R&B lounges downtown, but it wasn't until much, much later that night. Ryuu certainly had an overwhelming sense of responsibility towards Emily and he was not about to step on that boundary -- as much as he wanted to.
The boy cracked the door opened still facing Emily and Ryuu, "I'll see you guys at school tomorrow, hopefully... Rest easy, Emily." Turning towards the door, he opened it further and made his leave, though closed it with a sort of aggravated touch.
'Seems like she's getting all the help she needs...' Trizen thought to himself, feeling down and mainly useless.
He caught an elevator that was about to close and made his way out the hospital, knowing little that he'd be back soon enough.

Emily sighed as Trizen abruptly left Ryuu and herself to her hospital room. Sometimes she just didn't understand what went on in the minds of people. She felt like she must've done or said something wrong or something of the sort. Not like he was jealous of Ryuu or anything was he? "Why do I have a feeling that Trizen's a little mad at me or something. I don't think I've done anything, have I?" She asked, Ryuu. Well, Emily knew little of things like this.
She sat up, "Sorry, but medical ethics say I get to call the shots." She smiled, "I can be discharged by tomorrow if I'm still alive." She joked. Death wasn't something to be avoided for Emily. Death was something she was scared of a bit, but should it come she wouldn't have much to regret.
Besides, not like she could die out of this. "Of course I'm worried about my cat, he's the only one I've got." She laughed. Yami and her met on a rainy Halloween night last year, and he had been accompanying her at home ever since. He was a smart young kitten, who liked to sleep beside the bed Emily slept on. "It feels awkward, since he's usually rubbing against my leg all the time at home."

The bewildered look on Ryuu's face, while comical on any normal day, was not so comical right now. He heard Emily sigh as Trizen left the two of them abruptly, closing the door with an aggravated feel to it. Ryuu was absolutely bewildered at this, did he do something wrong, or was it possible Trizen was jealous or something? "Why do I have a feeling that Trizen's a little mad at me or something. I don't think I've done anything, have I?" "I don't think it's you he's mad at, per say," Ryuu replied, as he sat down in the chair beside her bed, "I have a feeling that was directed more towards me. I don't know why, but I think it's possible he's jealous of me, though why, your guess is as good as mine." He sighed, as he saw Emily sit up and tell him that medical ethics said she got to call the shots, and she could be discharged by tomorrow if she was still alive. Ryuu smiled slightly at this. "Well unless there's a deranged axe murderer waiting outside your door, I'm pretty sure you'll still be alive by tomorrow."
Ryuu smiled, of all the things that happened to Emily, the most important thing she was worried about, was her cat. "Don't worry about your cat, I'll check up on him later, I'm pretty sure the hospital has a 'No pets allowed' rule in place, unless they changed the rules," Ryuu laughed, "Then I could bring him to the hospital, and you wouldn't have to worry about him." Ryuu smiled at Emily, he was tired himself, but if it didn't kill him, it didn't bother him. "I'll stay with you until visiting hours are over and they have to boot me out of the hospital, if you don't mind?" He asked, looking slightly worried. "I'll even come back tomorrow the minute the hospital opens and you're discharged, and take you back home. I have no doubt you could get home on your own, but let's not forget you're injured. It's good to be independent, but just for once, let other people help you okay Emily?"

Emily gave a little sigh of defeat as she now leaned against the bed. As usual, she was still weak. Then again, she was already pushing herself beyond her limits with work, school and everything else. She took a deep breath, calming her mind. "Are you sure it's okay? I'd like to think you'd have homework to do at home, huh Ryuu?" She smiled weakly. Then came the comment about having people help her. The truth is, Emily was afraid of getting people too close. Most of the people who tried to help her went into a streak of bad luck. The Aoyamas were an example. They had died protecting her, same with her biological parents. Shinichi died after helping her.
She sighed, "I'll try Ryuu." Emily told him, "I just don't like to feel useless, is all. " In fact, Emily had always yearned to be treated as the most important thing to anyone. It was something she had yearned for since childhood, until now. Being useless was the last thing Emily was, but it was something she had feared of becoming.

"Don't worry about it," Ryuu replied, waving his left hand casually, "I already did most of my homework during my Spare, which was my last period, so I don't have very much left to do. Besides, I'd rather keep you company than do homework anyways." And honestly, Ryuu was one of those students who was really smart, and he kept up with his homework regularly, so it wasn't a problem for him that he stay and keep Emily company. He gave Emily a small smile, returning her weak smile, he knew she was still very much low in energy, so she needed rest very badly. "You just worry about resting and recovering, don't worry about my homework situation, let ME worry about that one." He said seriously, before laughing quietly. Emily really did worry too much, and about things that didn't relate to her, like Ryuu doing his homework.
"That's all I ask," Ryuu replied, smiling at Emily, "And don't ever think you're useless, no one is. Everyone is important, no matter who they are. You're really important to me. A.. as a really close friend I mean." Ryuu added quickly, blushing slightly, as he turned his head, facing away from Emily and staring out the window, as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Where did that come from...? And why do I feel like that's the truth, Emily really is important to me...? "... If you need anything, just let me know alright?" Ryuu said, as he turned back to face Emily, the blush gone from his face, as he leaned forward slightly, his arms resting on his thighs. "And I'll come running, okay?"

Emily laughed sleepishly. The past hour was quite draining for the white-haired girl, whom had yet to recover still from the shock. "If you say so." She said. "Man, I'm so tired. I feel like one of those all nighters I have to put up with for Layla's lessons..."
The girl laughed. It seemed as if Ryuu was treating her as someone important, which was quite appreciated actually. Emily gave Ryuu a sweet smile, slightly too weak to talk a lot. "I will, kay?" She said, "If you're going, my address is by the chart."
She wasn't going to let herself fall asleep yet.

"I do," Ryuu replied sincerely, "Well this hasn't exactly been a restful day for you, I'm not surprised honestly." Ryuu knew Emily hadn't exactly recovered from the shock of it all, it was to be expected after all. Ryuu returned the sweet smile Emily gave him with a smile of his own, bowing his head slightly to her, like she was princess or something, which, honestly, was true, Ryuu really was treating Emily like a princess, staying by her side, willing to do anything for her. "I'm not going yet," He laughed, "But I got it. I'll check up on your cat, I assume he has a name? Just promise me you'll rest and get better 'kay?" Ryuu leaned back in his chair, resting his right elbow on the armrest, as he cradled his cheek in the palm of his hand, looking out the window, rain lightly falling outside.
- 3 hours later -
Besides going to get something to eat and using the bathroom, Ryuu hadn't left Emily's side. He ended up falling asleep on her bedside, his head resting on his arms, which were resting on her bed, as he snored softly. The door opened and the nurse came in through the door to do her checks and noticed Ryuu asleep on Emily's bedside. Walking quietly up to him, she gently laid her hand on his shoulder, waking him up, as he lifted his head up, looking around groggily. "Visiting hours are over." She said quietly, as Ryuu blinked once, before nodding his head. "I'll give you a call the minute Ms. Delos Santos is discharged tomorrow morning, alright?" "Thank you..." Ryuu replied softly, he stood up as the nurse left once she had finished checking up on Emily. Standing beside her bed, Ryuu smiled gently at Emily, before leaning over, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, before turning around, and began to walk out of her room, his hands in the pockets of his jacket. He opened the door, but paused about halfway out the door, and turned his head, to look at Emily.
"Get well soon... Emily-hime..." He said quietly, before walking out, closing the door quietly behind him. He caught an elevator that was about to close, and walked out of the hospital, he'd be back in the morning, to take Emily home. For now however, he'd go to her place, and check on her cat like he promised he would.
