[Kate]

Kate's nose wrinkled. Not because she was disgusted, but rather because she was grinning and fighting back later. Not because of his eye patch, but rather because of his question. The blonde had seen a TON worse than that eye patch in her day. It wasn't about to make her feel weird.

"Well darling, you were a virgin, so I'm not rating you. All virgins are the same the first couple of times, so don't freak. You're future girlfriends will thank me in the long run though."

She chuckled and slid his tray over to him, and leaned over to give him a peck. Kate had needed it too, she wasn't about to deny that. There was something about loosing yourself in some one's arms that made her forget all the bad stuff that had happened in her life. The blonde pulled her own tray to her lap and began to dig in.

"Good morning by the way."

"Well darling, you were a virgin, so I'm not rating you. All virgins are the same the first couple of times, so don't freak. You're future girlfriends will thank me in the long run though."

"Well I'm not one for counting my girlfriends before they hatch," He said. It was the truth, he honestly didn't think he'd be able to tie down a girl for long. And something about the way she said that made him realize this wasn't going to be an ongoing thing, or an exclusive relationship in the works. So he just left that alone for now. What he didn't leave alone was his breakfast. He was famished, and he hadn't eaten this good in a long time. As a matter of fact, he basically breathed the bacon and oatmeal in, took a breath and went to work on eggs and everything else.

When he was done he laid back with the tray over his lap, "God I could go back to sleep for another ten hours right now...." He said, thinking about it, something about a full stomach did that to him. Of course, he hadn't been this full in a long time. He was your first rate moocher, and this night he hit the goldmine.

"So, what now?" He asked. He fully expected a cut scene to him being tossed out of the building in just the PJ's she gave him to wear. But then again, he was always a bit off with the way he expected people to react to him.

Startled emerald eyes looked at him as he inhaled his meal. Kate blinked a few times, and looked around in bewilderment for some odd reason. What had just happened? The boy ate like he was starving!!! They hadn't had dinner, true... but... he just... that was...

"Well darling, depends. I do like a bit of cuddling, just like any other girl..."

The blonde put aside her tray and curled up next to him, laying her blonde head on his chest lightly. This was not anything exclusive or anything of the sort... unless he decided to try for it. Just like everyone else, he'd have to earn her heart. He had just had her body, but no emotions of the heart were put in it.

"Why not count them James? You're an attractive, nice guy... you could probably get any girl you wanted."

One hand was on his chest, tracing one of the scars. Yes, Kate liked the scars. Her fingertips softly tracing one after another, slowly.

"I don't want just any girl though," He said, setting his tray aside and putting the arm closest to her around her, "I want to date someone I truly know and care about, you know? I don't usually rush into relationships. And while don't get me wrong, you're wonderful. You're out of my league, and I think in the end we'd be a little too different for an actual relationship, besides you wouldn't want this scratched up body as your arm candy for any big social events. I'm a stray mutt, I can be fun sure, but I'm hardly house broken."

He wasn't knocking himself, he was just telling it how it was. Mostly because he liked where he was and who he was. This was probably a strange conversation to have with someone you just slept with, but something about this seemed right. The casual relationship they seemed to form in less then a single day.

"But you're right, this is something that's going to help them and me in the long run. Hell, it helps me and you in the short term," He said, thinking about it, "So when do we get these tattoo's finished?"

[Kate]

His body? He was talking about his body like that? Because of the scars? She looked up at him almost lazily, one eyebrow lifting. What the hell was wrong with his logic.

"Leagues? I don't know about that... but I will be honest, most of my boyfriends were... just like you. And they left me. Tell me the logic in that one, if I'm so out of your ball park James."

She chuckled, but thought on what he said. Maybe he was right... and besides, Kate wasn't looking for a relationship in the least bit. She wasn't ready for something like that... after...

"Take care of the girl you find. Hold on to her, trust her, treat her well. Don't ever leave her or I'll fucking find you and kill you James. And if she doesn't accept you scars and all, she isn't worth it."

Kate smacked the side of his chest that didn't have the tattoo on it. She wouldn't be so mean to him, even if it had a bit of sting to it.

"And it's all paid for, you can go back whenever you want. They'll bump people around or I'll sue them."

[James Everwood]

"Take care of the girl you find. Hold on to her, trust her, treat her well. Don't ever leave her or I'll fucking find you and kill you James. And if she doesn't accept you scars and all, she isn't worth it."

"Don't worry," James said, with a smile on his face, "If there is one thing in this whole planet I won't screw up, it's a relationship. I've seen the worst a relationship could ever possibly get, or at least I pray what I saw was that, and I won't let anything remotely close to that happen to me and anyone I date. I don't like when people get hurt, and most of all, I don't like hurting people. So I try my best not to do it."

He turned and kissed get on the lips once more, his hand would come to rest at her shoulder, lightly brushing it, even though she had just smacked him on the chest, all he did was cough a little, mixed in with some laughter, "Just like that, being hit doesn't bother me. I don't know why, I guess it just doesn't.... I don't like it don't get me wrong. Pain hurts, and hurting sucks. But I never take anything like that personally......."

It was the truth, even if he was a little fucked up in the head for it. He was a little too much of a nice guy, but he preferred it that way.

This guy probably had a bad past, and she could tell just from his words alone. Even the way he talked about relationships... Kate's fingers never stopped moving over his scars. Like she was stuck on them for now. The blonde could take a guess what had caused a few... why were all parents messed up? Her own parents... how stupid had her father been? To cause all the deaths, all the pain... idiot.

"Pain does suck. I hate waking up in the hospital, not knowing what exact had happened... only to have it come back in flashes as you remember punches on the jaw, and knees to the ribs."

She chuckled just a bit and snuggled into his chest a bit more. What else was there to say? If he treated a good girl the right way, then he'd be perfectly fine?
