(OOC: For Reira and Travis) [Thread takes place day after Matrim/Reira get back together + day after Atonement thread]
Matrim was told by Reira about her living situation the night before, and Matrim was a little impatient. Sure he could understand, but it didn't make him any less pissed off about the whole situation. Mostly because the guy beat the shit out of Matrim when he had already clearly gotten over the situation. Or if he hadn't, his actions had hidden that well. Matrim, however, didn't care if the guy was stronger, he was going to kick him out of what would be, his new home. Since he and Reira were together again, and engaged once more.
Well, Matrim was impatient, and he was getting rid of his place soon anyway. He had liked it, but at the same time the bad memories outweighed the good, and he thought a change of scenery and living with someone else would help take away some of his addictions. He could have someone keep him accountable and keep him away from drinking. Which was a good thing.
His chin still bandaged up, wearing a leather coat, jeans, motorcycle boots, and sunglasses, Matrim proceeded to go ahead with Operation G.T.F.O. Which stood for exactly what one might think. He rang the door bell and knocked on the door, waiting for an answer. His plan was so intricate, that all he had to do was say 'gtfo'.
No really... it's an intricate plan. Took him all day to think it up.

Today Reira….was stuck in her bathroom. Way to start the day! She woke up normally, went to the bathroom, took a shower got all pretty for the day and now the door decided to jam up! She didn’t know how long she tried to force the door open, but now she pretty much gave up and was sitting on the tiled floor, hitting her head repeatedly against the stubborn door. Worst thing was, this was her private bathroom, meaning it was the bathroom in her master bedroom, which further meant that Travis wouldn’t be able to hear her distress calls, or do much about it since she kept her bedroom door locked. Oh happy days!
What am I going to do! I don’t have my cell! I‘ll never see the light of day again, or Matrim, I won‘t be able to eat that cotton candy I was craving today…there’s no other food in here! I’m going to diie in here!! If not from starvation, but from heat stroke! It’s so damn hot in here…OH HEY THE WINDOW!
Yes, this bathroom had a small window. Only a small one, perfectly square, one of those higher up ones. Sighing, Reira contemplated on whether or not she should even try to climb out the window. That would be an adventure and a half, especially with how small it was. Now Reira wasn’t a tiny girl, she was beautifully curved and toned buut if she wiggled enough maybe she could fit through the window! With a nod of determination, Reira pushed a small stepping stool up the wall and tip toed. Damn high window!
This was going to be a challenge. Especially since she was wearing a casually, red tube dress. It was strapless of course and hugged all her curves nicely, coming to about her mid thigh. With a small jump, Reira managed to pull herself up to the window…only to have the force of the jump, push the stool away. Yay. So now she was half dangling out the window, her legs kicking in the air and her head poking outside.
“Freeeedoom!!”
Well, first she had to do some wiggling. Which really stated to hurt, especially since her stomach was supporting all her weight. Ouch. Then she heard that knock at the door. Hopefully Travis would get it, cause…well Reira was in a tricky situation at the moment.

Travis himself had just gotten out of the shower and hand pulled on a pair of jeans, zipping and buttoning them up as he moved out of his bathroom and toward his bed where he had left his t-shirt. He'd grab up the plain black t-shirt and pull it over his head. He'd grab his socks and begin to leave his bedroom and walk toward the kitchen, putting his socks on as he went. When he arrived, he'd hear a knock upon the door. His head would turn in that direction and his hands would lift as he began walking that way. They would slick back his damp orangish-red hair as he neared the door.
He wasn't sure who it was, and he hadn't been expecting anyone himself. As for Reira, he had seen her earlier in the day but not for an hour or so now. He wasn't even sure if she was still here at this time. Travis didn't know if she had any plans today. He'd bend over and grab his boots, pulling them on instead of answering the door right away. Once he was set with himself, Travis would grab the door handle and pull it open. Those icy blues would narrow slightly when they settled upon Matrim. For a second he simply stared at him blankly, and then that smirk of his slid upon his face.
"Yo."
Travis right hand still gripped the door handle, the door only partly opened so that Travis could probably fit his head through it if he wanted. He rarely opened a door fully, it was just a habit from living back in New York. This was a little confusing for Travis though.. As far as he knew, Reira had broken up with Matrim. Maybe he was here to cry and beg or something like that. Did it bother Travis? He wasn't really sure. He liked Reira, he thought she was a good girl. And she definitely was exciting when it came to other things as well, but Travis wasn't really sure what they had. He knew it felt good. It was hard for him to explain.
Was Matrim expecting this? He didn't exactly look to be in shape for another confrontation. Not that Travis was going to beat his ass just yet. Or maybe he could, after all.. Reira didn't seem to be around. For now though, he'd remain civil, at least until he got a reason for why he was here now. And he couldn't help but wonder what Matrim would be thinking about him living here with his ex. Whatever. If he took it hard, Travis wouldn't even feel an ounce of pity for him. This bastard broke something he couldn't fix. But Travis had already dealt with this once. He could wait for now. He'd smirk and speak out again.
"You look like shit. What happened to you?"

“Freeeedoom!!” Matrim looked around, wondering what the hell was going on.
Is Reira re-enacting Braveheart or something?
"Yo."
"Right back at ya," Matrim said quickly, his head still looking around for the source of the noise. It sounded like it was from outside, but he could be wrong. He shrugged and paid more attention to Travis.
"You look like shit. What happened to you?"
"Got my ass kicked," Matrim said, and in a weird way, he felt alright. He thought he'd be pissed, he thought he'd throw a punch. But something about this felt... good? Yeah, good. Something about this moment felt good. Maybe it was because of the next sentence he was going to be able to say, maybe it was because the guy had no more hostile intentions, or maybe it was the fact that the pain of talking had helped with a nice little release of endorphins. In any case, he would be able to talk with civility. "You should see the other guy though, I'm pretty sure I fucked up his knuckles with my face," After the quick joke he got back to his point....
"I'm going to need you to leave," Matrim said, "I know you probably haven't heard yet, it only just happened, oh... sometime last night after the hospital. But me and Reira are back together, back to our engagement. And we think it'd be best if you found some place else to live. So, if you would be so kind, I could even help you pack!"
Matrim extended his arms out in a friendly gesture with a big grin on his face. A geniuine one. Matrim then turned his head around, "But seriously I heard her yell out the word freedom just as you were answering the door.... where is she?"

Reira continued to squirm herself out the window, half listening to the conversation that was happening at the door, which was down some and around a corner. She was getting really frustrated with herself, and the window, actually mostly at how she was almost out but the only thing preventing her from moving any further was her hips. Damn women and their hips. Kicking her legs in frustration, she cringed in pain. It wasn’t the most pleasant position, and now she was beginning to worry about her landing. You know, high window…yeah.
Making odd sounds that she didn’t think she could make, she shushed up abruptly when she heard Travis greet whomever was at the door. Straining to hear, her eyes widened when she heard Matrim answer him. Oh hell no! She told him to wait!! Matrim and Reira had talked the night before and they agreed that SHE was going to be the one to tell Travis the news and possible ask him to leave nicely. Grrr. That only made her mood decline faster. The reason she wanted to do it was because she wanted to talk to Travis and settle everything that was between them peacefully…and hopefully not anger him. After all, he was her friend in an odd way.
"But seriously I heard her yell out the word freedom just as you were answering the door.... where is she?"
Reira wouldn’t give time for Travis to answer. She had enough of just…well hanging there. The pain so wasn’t worth letting her pride get stung a little. I mean, she had an ego…so it would mend with a few minutes or so!
“Damn it Matrim, I thought we agreed“---she cringed as speaking made her torso flex, which in return hurt---“Baaah can someone please help me! My arms are going to give out soon and then I’ll faint from all the blood that rushes to my brain…and then--just HELP ME!”
Okay, so she was very frustrated. Hanging from a window didn’t help.
They better not laugh…

Got my ass kicked.
Damn straight you got your ass kicked..
You should see the other guy though, I'm pretty sure I fucked up his knuckles with my face.
Travis would shake his head. He still didn't care all that much for Matrim. His first impression hadn't been great, and from then on it had only gotten worse. He heard Matrim had broken Sara's ankle, Sara and Matrim started getting all cuddly while Travis had to deal with that god damn giant, and then to top it off he goes and ends up sleeping with Sara. Yeah, in Travis' eyes this dude was a piece of shit. Even Travis wasn't the kind of guy who'd sleep with someone when he knew they were in a relationship. It was low down and dirty.
I'm going to need you to leave, I know you probably haven't heard yet, it only just happened, oh... sometime last night after the hospital. But me and Reira are back together, back to our engagement. And we think it'd be best if you found some place else to live. So, if you would be so kind, I could even help you pack!
"Hold up.. Why the hell isn't SHE telling me this. It's her house and you come over and act like you own it?"
Travis WANTED to remain civil, he wanted to be able to stand here and shrug it all off but Matrim just seemed to be one of those people that could bring the anger out of him without too much effort. Not only had Matrim broken his relationship, now he was strolling in Reira's place like he was the king of the castle.
"If Reira's going back to you.. Whatever. But I'll be damned if I'm going to let YOU tell me what to do."
Damn it Matrim, I thought we agreed-- Baaah can someone please help me! My arms are going to give out soon and then I’ll faint from all the blood that rushes to my brain…and then--just HELP ME!
Travis heard it this time. When Matrim had mentioned hearing her, he had thought he was being stupid. But no, apparently Reira was home. And he had no idea where she was. He'd open the door and slide through the crack, pushing past Matrim as he went around the side the beach house where he had heard Reira's voice. Those icy blues would settle upon the girl as she hung half-way out of her tiny bathroom window. Travis tried to hide the smile, and muffle the chuckle that would escape his lips, but it was hard. He didn't know how she had managed or get into the predicament she was in, or why for that matter. But he'd offer her a hand, and as long as she took it he'd try and pull her, and help her stand.
"Haha.. How the hell did you manage this?"

"If Reira's going back to you.. Whatever. But I'll be damned if I'm going to let YOU tell me what to do." Travis said.
"I used the word 'we' dumbass, she can tell you for yourself once we find her. But I--"
Damn it Matrim, I thought we agreed-- Baaah can someone please help me! My arms are going to give out soon and then I’ll faint from all the blood that rushes to my brain…and then--just HELP ME!
And Travis went to pget towards where Reira was, Matrim simply stepped out of the way and walked with him, getting out of his way rather then getting pushed. He'd follow him to see Reira halfway in a window, Travis offered a hand, Matrim offered the opposite one, so she could take both hands and they could all pull her out of the window together.
"Haha.. How the hell did you manage this?" Travis said, and Matrim was curious himself.
"Lock yourself in there or were you trying to escape?" Matrim asked, since those were the only two options he could imagine. Either that or she wanted a flashy entrance, but from the looks of it, it was one of the two. Maybe she wanted to avoid confrontation with Travis, or maybe she just didn't want to be within the destruction path that might ensue from the two if things went nuclear, "In any case, tell em already, I'm impatient I know but I actually found a buyer for the loft really quickly. Guess some people have had their eyes on that place when I came around and just bought it."
That and the quicker he's gone, the better.

Reira was trying her best to hold herself up with her arms, but like she practically yelled out before, they were getting tired. Letting her arms fall slightly, her hair partially fell over her eyes. Well now she couldn’t see who was coming around the corner, but she could certainly hear him---hear him laughing! Trying to blow her bangs out of her eyes, she was going to glare at him, to show him how un-funny it was, but that didn’t work out so well, so she just took Travis’ hand.
"Haha.. How the hell did you manage this?"
"Lock yourself in there or were you trying to escape?"
As Travis pulled her right arm, Reira began the wiggling process all over again. Then Matrim came about and Reira quickly looked away, the embarrassment was killing her. She must of looked like a total dork and right now she was thankful for the her hair covering some of her face, they couldn’t see the blush! With Matrim pulling on her left arm, Reira finally was free of the cursed window! Her landing wasn’t bad either, all thanks to Travis.
“Neither, the door jammed and I think I broke the door knob trying to force it open,” she said, standing between the two, bare foot. She had to admit, maybe it was kind of funny and she sort of half grinned. “Watch me get a permanent red line across my stomach….thanks for the hands.” Her own hand was rubbing her tummy where the window sill had dug in.
"In any case, tell em already, I'm impatient I know but I actually found a buyer for the loft really quickly. Guess some people have had their eyes on that place when I came around and just bought it."
Now the awkward silence. Did she really have to tell him now? This wasn’t what she wanted to do. She wanted to be able to tell Travis slowly, not just bluntly “Get out!” Brow furrowing angrily at the situation Matrim had placed her in, she turned towards Travis and sighed, her facial features softening.
“What he said is true, we’re back together and he’s moving in here….and I just thought that maybe it would be better off if you found another place to stay at, because I know you two hate each other…and I feel terrible…but if you’d like, you can stay until you find a new place.”
Her eyes fell away from his then. She felt like a jerk. Travis was so good to her and she didn’t want to just kick him out knowing he had no where else to go. Reira wasn’t that much of a bitch, especially with the sort of friendship her and Travis developed over the weeks. She didn’t want any bitter feelings between them...regardless if Matrim hated him, she still considered him as a friend.
“Sorry..”

Travis would nod, and give her a little smile of his. Shaking his head after, but before he really had a chance to get any words in Matrim would speak up, and he'd fix those blue hued eyes of his back upon the female he had just helped from the window, as Matrim said what he wanted to say.
In any case, tell em already, I'm impatient I know but I actually found a buyer for the loft really quickly. Guess some people have had their eyes on that place when I came around and just bought it.
Travis watched Reira's facial expression change. He already knew the answer before she spoke. He wasn't going to admit it here, but he did feel a little shitty about this. Nothing ever went right for him anymore. And it didn't seem like he was ever going to get a break. He hadn't expected this at all, honestly. He thought he'd end up staying here for quite some time before he left, if he had ever needed to leave.
What he said is true, we’re back together and he’s moving in here….and I just thought that maybe it would be better off if you found another place to stay at, because I know you two hate each other…and I feel terrible…but if you’d like, you can stay until you find a new place. Sorry..
As she said sorry, Travis would shrug his shoulders and begin to move back around the way he had came from. A glare would have been cast toward Matrim, but it would have only been brief before he had taken his eyes off him. Nothing ever went right for him, regardless of whether or not it was a place or live, or a relationship. He didn't quite see why Reira chose to go back to him. But he wasn't going to stand here and try to change the outcome. If it was a mistake, he guessed he was going to have to just let her make it on her own.
"No, no.. Whatever. It's not that big a deal. After all, can't have Matrim here getting jealous.. Even though he'd have nothing to worry about. I'm not him.. I don't sleep with other people's girlfriends."
He didn't care what kind of reaction he got right now. And he sure as hell didn't care for Matrim's feelings. Reira had been something special, and while it lasted he had enjoyed it. But it looked like from here on out it was friendship only. Of course, it was going to end up being problematic. Travis doubted he'd hang out with Reira any time Matrim was around. He'd hate to have to embarrass him in front of her. He'd swear under his breath as he made his way back toward the front door, using his thumbs to crack each finger on his hand separately.
God I really fucking hate that kid..

Good to know.
Matrim simply looked away, turning and refusing to look at Travis. His fists returning to his pockets, gripping tightly as he was very pissed off at the statement. It just wasn't classy, and something about that pissed Matrim off. In any case, he was more just annoyed then anything. So when he walked away Matrim would give Reira a look. One that clearly showed he was annoyed with the guy, but at the same time that he'd let her deal with it.
"I'm gonna go for a walk... I'd rather him leave today...." He said, "Even if I buy the fucking place it's his," He said, and kissed her cheek, walking over towards the back of the house he found a place to sit down. Too ashamed to stay by Reira at the moment because of what Travis said. He'd just chillax out of the way by himself and wait for them to work things out, but he was staying close enough in case Reira needed him. If she looked over to where Matrim had walked off she would be able to see his foot sticking out from around the corner, giving away that he was just sitting away.
But whatever you want, it's up to you Rei.

"No, no.. Whatever. It's not that big a deal. After all, can't have Matrim here getting jealous.. Even though he'd have nothing to worry about. I'm not him.. I don't sleep with other people's girlfriends."
This was exactly why she wanted to talk to Travis without Matrim. This was a low blow and for a moment Reira felt rather angry at the redhead, but soon that anger turned into a deep sting in her chest. It almost felt like she was hearing the news of Matrim cheating on her all over again. Her gaze fell to the pavement, she couldn’t look at either of them. She felt suffocated. The tension in the air was strong and thick.
Travis made the first move and began to walk away. She was left there with Matrim. Reira wanted to say something, but honestly her voice had escaped her for the moment. Her mind was running. But she did managed to catch the look Matrim gave her. It wasn’t comforting. She couldn’t blame him. With a quick kiss to her cheek, he said, "I'm gonna go for a walk... I'd rather him leave today....Even if I buy the fucking place it's his."Reira only nodded. Then she was alone.
A few minutes passed and she was still just standing there, thinking. She had two options. Go see Matrim, or go see Travis. It was like a crossroads. Which path to take in order to make situations better. Sighing, she glanced over in the direction Matrim went in, seeing nothing but his foot sticking out around the corner. Then she looked over in the direction that Travis went off in. Decisions made, she followed after Travis.
He has to leave today…
Entering through her front door, she shut it quietly behind her. “Travis?,” she called out, her voice sounding unfamiliar to her. “Can we talk…privately?” Matrim was outside, they shouldn’t be interrupted now. Stopping in front of his bedroom door, she peeked inside, hoping he was there…and not too mad.

Travis? Can we talk…privately?
The senior had made his way back inside and headed directly for his room. Travis really hadn't expected to talk to her so soon, but it seemed she was here to say something. He figured she would have gone and settled with her boyfriend first. Then again, thinking on it now made him realize that Reira probably thought it was best he left sooner, rather then later. He wasn't really sure if he wanted to talk. He wasn't angry, he didn't really know what to feel right now. He couldn't find his feelings, and it was actually kind of annoying to him. He'd speak out, but he didn't plan on looking back at her just yes.
"Is there really all that much to talk about? It's cool. I understand I was.. The re-bound, that's what it's called anyways, isn't it?"
He realized after he spoke that it came out a little more cold than he originally intended. Travis hadn't been sure of what he had with Reira before hand, and now he realized that maybe there was nothing at all. That maybe he had just been picked out randomly, and she was going to toss him aside for Matrim again. This was the second time that fucker had messed something up for him. He was lucky there were witnesses here, otherwise he might have strangled the bastard and thrown him into the ocean or something. He moved across his room, toward the dresser he had packed all his clothes into. He'd pause in front of it for the moment, and turn to face the girl whom he wasn't all that happy with at this point in time.
"It's cool. You needed someone, and I just happened to be there. But what I don't get.. Is why you'd go back to someone who already cheated on you once."
Those icy blues stared at her, but not how they normally did. No, there was a sense of hurt in them. But that was all, he stood there straight-faced and otherwise completely normal. He was just sick of this. Every time he thought something was going alright for him, things ended up pulling a 180 and fucking him in the ass, or something like that. He didn't hate her, he was just confused about this whole situation. His right hand would eventually lift, and Travis would bring it to his forehead, his fingers his thumb and index finger rubbing against both of his temples as his head dropped slightly.
Great, now he was starting to get a headache. Just the icing on the cake.

Well he was there and she suddenly wished he wasn’t. She could tell he was upset and she knew she was the cause of that. She wished things could have been different, that the things that put them in this situation in the first place never happened. That way, her and Travis didn’t have to live with the same hurt, and maybe still be unmarred. But it never worked that way. The only thing a person could do was move on…what Travis had to do now. It was sad, sure, but cuts this deep would heal, change you. Reira knew that all too well. Slipping into the room, she closed the door and leaned to the side of it, somewhat happy his back was to her.
"Is there really all that much to talk about? It's cool. I understand I was.. The re-bound, that's what it's called anyways, isn't it?" He turned to face her then. "It's cool. You needed someone, and I just happened to be there. But what I don't get.. Is why you'd go back to someone who already cheated on you once."
His voice was cold. Travis was the rebound, just like she was the rebound of Sara. Her brow furrowed in newly bubbling anger. That was never good. He can’t just blame this all on her. It wasn’t just her who needed the comforting. Reira’s hands clenched. Her face was emotionless, but her eyes showed all. Pushing herself off the wall, she took a step towards him, a vicious, dark look shadowing her face. She understood he was hurt…she was hurting too, but it wasn’t fair that an already targeted person was being targeted again.
“Oh come on Travis, you and I both know you used me to get over Sara, I’m not stupid. So don’t spill some melodramatics on me about how I’m the bad one!,” her voice was slightly raised, but still relatively calm. Can’t say it was a nice tone though. “Yes I admit, at first you were just that ‘someone’, but is it too hard to believe that you’re much more to me than that now? But whatever, think what you want…..”
The last part of what he said echoed in her mind. Giving him a final look, she turned around and placed her hand on the doorknob---”It’s called love Travis. Because I love him. You may think I’m a fool, and maybe sometimes I am…but you have no right to judge my decisions…get out.” This time her voice was as cold as his. Opening the door, Reira left it wide open for him.

"I wasn't using you to get over Sara.."
..Or was I? I don't even know anymore..
Travis let out a sigh, and then moved toward the bed that use to be his. He'd plop himself down upon it, hands resting behind him slightly as he applied his weight to them. Maybe he had overracted. He wasn't really sure. After all, it wasn't like they had really been a couple or anything like that. They had shared a few moments, sure. But it was clear those moments weren't ever going to develope into something more now. Travis liked Reira, he didn't simply want to end another relationship because of Matrim.
It’s called love Travis. Because I love him. You may think I’m a fool, and maybe sometimes I am…but you have no right to judge my decisions…get out.
"I-I'm sorry,"
His voice had called out as she stepped from the room. He hoped she stopped, because he didn't want to leave on bad terms with her. Travis still wanted her friendship. He needed more people to confide in, and right now Reira was the only one he could call a friend. He didn't need to be left alone, with no one again. That just wasn't going to sit well with him at all.
"I shouldn't have said that stuff.. This was just so.. Unexpected."
Travis would push himself up once again, and this time he'd move to grab his suitcase, and the backpack he originally brought with him. It was a good thing he hadn't bought anything for his room during his stay here, otherwise his packing might not have been so easy to get over with quickly. He'd lay them out on his bed, and then Travis would move to the dresser and begin throwing his clothes into the suitcase.
"I've just been really stressed lately. I'm sure you have your reasons for what you chose.. I don't have to like them, but I don't want you to hate me when I leave here today.. Truth is.. I don't really have any other friends.. You're the only one I got, Reira. And I'd rather not lose you too."

This sucked. Reira felt like a total bitch. Now that she wasn’t facing him, one could notice the emotion her eyes were showing. She wasn’t going to cry, its just that they weren’t cold anymore. She never meant to be so harsh towards him…some things just happened. In any case, it was probably for the best. It was very odd for her to feel remorse about her bitchiness, she never really felt sympathetic to the person she decided to flip on. It was just…this was Travis. As much as she tried to deny it, they had something? As short lived as it was, it was still something. Today it was ending.
Reira was a few steps out of the room. She wasn’t going to look back, until he called out an apology. Oh great, way to make her feel more jerk like.
"I shouldn't have said that stuff.. This was just so.. Unexpected."
Well, as much as she wanted to keep walking she stopped. Why did she always do that? Either way, maybe she wanted this? It’s not like she wanted to be on too horrible of terms with him. That just would just be dramatics she’d rather avoid altogether. Besides, she was grateful for his friendship, therefore it was a good thing she stopped. The least she could do was hear him out. Looking over her shoulder, she gazed at him lightly. He was packing.

That did it. She felt horrible for being so brash.
“It’s okay, its fine. I’m the one who lost control and flipped…I’m sorry. Everything feels like its soaring out of my control and I just want to make things right. I know it may not be fair to just throw you out of here, but its for the best…I’m sure you’ll agree.” She paused for a moment, then continued. “But I’m glad you stopped me…I’d rather you leave here on good terms, I mean its not like we have to stop talking, right?”
With a small smile, she left him alone. Now that, that was all behind her and over with, she could go see how Matrim was doing. After all, he was the most important one in her eyes.
