"It seems you have quite the fetish for Marvel Comics my friend. But yeah, seriously... I'm nothing on my own. I do have a group...my own personal S.H.I.E.L.D, if you will. I've decided. Will you be a part of my group? My S.H.I.E.L.D?"
"Just call me Sergeant Fury," He said as a joke (OOC: badum bum tsh), having an eye patch was definitely an easy thing to make fun of. Especially with the whole S.H.I.E.L.D. running joke, "I mean so long as it's not an evil corporation that expects me to kill people. But from the sound of it, I'm interested. You seem like a nice enough guy," He said looking at the five unconscious guys behind him once again. He had done it so many times now his neck was getting sore, "Little rough around the edges but I can tell your a good guy. You've got that good guy feel."
He looked back over at Rem and decided he'd ask, "So, this group of yours, what's it called? What does it do?"

"Nope, no killing people I'm afraid. And thanks, I'll take that as a compliment."
Amiable as he was, at this juncture, Rem saw potential building in the form of a friendship between himself and James.
"So, this group of yours, what's it called? What does it do?"
"We're a failsafe device. Should the Pillar system fail... We swoop in and clean up the mess. We, James, are called Militia."

"No killing people, that's good...." He said. He listened well, wondering what in the world it was. He understood what he meant by the fail safe and the Pillar system failing. He didn't quite understand what they did on their free time though. Perhaps just learned things, stayed back and observed? The guy himself hadn't even thought about becoming a pillar, so that meant they weren't interested in hostile takeovers. At least, it didn't seem that way.
"Militia," He said to himself. The group name was cool, it sounded like a military name, he decided he liked the name. It was cool, and he was down with it, "Sure, I think I like the sound of that. Besides, what else am I going to do with my free periods?"
He thought about it, realizing that he usually used them to doze off for a bit. He would miss that if it came down to it, but as long as this didn't interfere with his job he would be fine. After all, he may be a teenage kid, but he has to go to work for a living, "So do I get a secret decoder ring or anything like that?" Again trying to make with the funny, the truth was he was kind of nervous that he'd be a total outcast within the group. The joking was just a mask he put on to hide his true feelings.

"Secret decoder ring? Haha, not quite."
He flipped open his cellphone and handed it to James.
"Put your number in there. I'll send you a text later on about it."

James grabbed the cell phone and just sorta looked at it, and then looked back at Rem. He looked at the cell phone and opened his mouth to say something, and looked back to Rem, "Yeah, there's going to be a slight problem with that..."
That's right, and by slight he meant large, he went ahead and started putting his home phone number in, but aside from that he didn't put anything else besides his full name for the contact info, and then handed it back to him, "I don't have a cell phone. Just a home phone, and that's pretty much it. If you must know I have to cut down on all the extra stuff in order to have a place to sleep at night. Some of those things include a cell phone, a cd player, restaurant food, movies, television, you know, your basic everyday teenage essentials."
That's right Rem, today you just met one of the few Americans who does not own a television set. Congratulations, on your discovery. Scientists will be baffled by it for many years.
"So texting probably won't work, but leaving a message is always doable. If I don't answer it's because I'm at work. Because trust me, if I'm home and my phone rings, that's like my version of fun. I try to guess who's calling since I don't have caller ID, and then I answer it once I settle on a guess."
Yeah because that didn't come out as pathetic or sad at all.....

Rem's eyes widened and then he chuckled slightly. This was an ideal situation. Very ideal.

OOOoooh and it only got better. Rem hid his elated nature well hid.
"Well, keep that one. Its pay as you go, so you don't have to worry about a bill every month. You can only use how much ever you put on it. Plus, I tweaked it so that it can receive and send infinite text messages for free."
If James protested, as Rem expected he might, Rem'd raise his hand to stop him.
"Don't worry, I've got another. I do this because I have a proposal. I am currently looking for a place to stay myself. I might not look it, but I'm actually just staying at random girl's houses every night. While this is a good thing... I'd like a more...permanent situation at the moment. My proposal is this: I become your roommate, and I'll pay half the rent, as well as hook the place up with all the necessities."
He splashed some water with his feet and looked up at the ceiling.
"Well?"

"No really I couldn't-" He put up a hand and continued on to explain that he was looking for a place to stay. That he was pretty much sleeping around with girls to get a place to sleep, and he needs something more permanent. He listened to his offer, and considered it. After all, if they were going to be in this group together, might as well accept right?
"Sure thing," He finally said, "It's a small place I'm afraid, but there should be enough room to fit another person. And I could use the extra cash from not paying full rent."

"As long as there's enough place for me to sleep and use my computer, that's good."
With that, he offered James a hand to shake.
"Nice talking business, ey, roomie?"

"As long as there's enough place for me to sleep and use my computer, that's good."
James shook Rem's hand, "Computers, wow that's pretty high tech, but yeah there's plenty of room for that."
"Nice talking business, ey, roomie?" He said and James nodded.
"Mmhmm," He said, wondering about the group he just joined. He was curious about who all was in it, what they did, if they had meetings. But he would find that stuff out all in good time he was sure. In any case, he just got a new friend, roommate, and a cell phone. He quickly pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, and made a contact for Sam. He was glad he could call her on something other then an old phone, the phone in his house wasn't even touch tone. That's how old fashioned it was, you actual had to spin the circle thing.
"A successful day as I see it."
