Surprisingly, Emi decided to take his advice. It was amusing, seeing her face light up at the idea of a little lie. He wondered what it was like for her, having a family that cared that much. Sure, it had to be annoying at times, but it was still a family, a whole family, something he had never had. There was no point in moping about that though, he was who he was.
The conversation the girl had with her brother went about how he thought it would, albeit he was just guessing from the tones of their voices as he couldn't quite understand Japanese. He had learned a few things from Chi, but she only lapsed into her second language when she was angry. Dammit, and there he was, thinking about her again. It was a bad habit he needed to break himself of.
With a more confident demeanor, Emi asked him where they should eat. "Well it depends what you like. I was gonna get a burger at this little diner a block over, but if you want pizza or sushi, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a place." Aureus said while stretching his arms above his head. That fight had been a nice bout of exercise.

"Burgers sound good."
Since he planned to eat burgers in the first place, she decided that it was best for her to let him go where he wanted. Well, burgers weren't exactly her favorite dish, but it was better compared to his offer of sushi and pizza.
Emi loved sushi, but she didn't trust the stuff served in America. It isn't as fresh compared to what you can get in Japan, and she there was no way that she could trust any restaurant in the area to be food poisoning free. Pizza was OK compared to sushi, but she wasn't sure if she could handle all the greasy cheese. That was why the best choice was burgers. Plus, they always came with a side of french fries, and she could always order a chicken patty if beef didn't look too appetizing.
"Well, let's go." She stepped to the side so that she could allow him to lead the way.
