Kate broke the kiss, and Adrian's eyes softened as they met hers. She spoke his name, and the way she said it, the softness and beauty of it all, it left Adrian speechless, if only for the moment. He smiled, a small, far-away look on his face, and he just enjoyed the girl's perfect features for a moment.
After what seemed like a lifetime of just staring into her eyes, Adrian finally spoke in reply. "Kate..." he began, just by saying her name, much like she had, but unlike the girl, he decided to follow up with something else.
"Come on," he'd say, taking her hand in his, clasping his fingers in between hers, and would walk to the door. "Let's go celebrate."
