Sara listened to her response with skepticism. The whole thing about the earthquake... That didn't prove anything. The transfers from 259 were all affected by the earthquake. Most would have lived on the streets like she had. It proved nothing. What was making Sara falter was the girls seemingly absolute certainty and fear.
Sara sighed and hung her head as she tried to sort out her thoughts. Something coming in the next week... She tried to think of something that she knew about, and event or something that might go wrong, or something along those lines. There was nothing.
"I don't really know what to say... I'm gunna be honest, I don't really believe in stuff like that. And the earthquake affected everyone, not just me. 42 would have known about it. Unless you can come up with something better?" She laughed, not quite sure why she hadn't just gotten up and walked away yet. There was just something about the girls attitude that made Sara think there might be something there. But unless she could prove it, Sara would most likely forget about their little meeting and move on.

Is that what Thirteen needed to get this across to her? More proof? Aurora could get more proof...she just needed a moment to gather her thoughts...to separate her mind from the present, to travel into the past looking for something that only Sara would know. She was confident that something was going to happen, but now Aurora would have to make her heed the warning somehow...where was it...where in the past would she be able to find it?
Aurora's body was silent for a few moments as she searched the past, her astral self following Sara through her life. Anything would be useful....the Earthquake...Travis...people. Her birth...there it was. The parts of her love life. It was painful to see, but none the less it was necessary for this time.
"You were drugged, and your now addicted to adrenaline and other boosters...your friend Travis asked you to detox and you did...And then...you cheated on him...and you suffered...just like what's going to happen again..."
Predictions of this magnitude were difficult and they often made Thirteen depressed. People were in legitimate problems, and they couldn't help it...and now once again, fate conspired to hurt her again.
And there was nothing Thirteen could do about it.

Sara's laugh died off and she remained silent as the girl went quiet. Sara barely breathed. For some reason there was a building anticipation to see how the girl would choose to combat Sara's argument about the earthquake, to see what she would do to prove her power to Sara.
Not that she cared...
She didn't believe it...
Sara froze as the girl spoke. The first thing out of the girls mouth had her freaking out. The drugging. The detox. Sara's stomach spasmed as she thought about the root and her vision swam. It was only recently that she had once again indulged in that dirty little habit, and she had payed dearly for it for the whole week after. No one knew about that... She had taken great pains to make sure that no one other then Travis or Matrim knew about it. So unless Travis or Matrim were talking about it...? She could see Travis doing it to get back at her... Might explain how she knew about the cheating to. As far as Sara knew though, Travis was gone wasn't he? Thinking about Travis still hurt... That sucked. It hurt more then she thought it would, and to think that he was spreading rumors about her?
So what she had told her was possible... She took a shaky breath and turned her head back to the girl, her gaze hard. "This isn't funny... Not at all. It's a cruel, sick joke. What are you saying? Out with it already." Ok, so Sara wasn't a believer, but it wouldn't hurt to hear whatever this girl was claiming was supposed to happen. Sara tried to take a deep breath. She had been yelling at the poor girl, her voice harsh, but she was kind of scaring Sara. She needed to calm down.

The problem now was that fact that Thirteen was in with her far too much, but with her failure in capacity to lie, she only had one choice, to keep going with it all, however much it pained the both of them. In a way, Aurora's Qi was both blessing and a curse. She knew the future...and she knew the future. It was interpretive...bad things could happen, or the good. Right now, she was getting quite a bit of the former. Sara had a right to yell all she wanted...
This stuff would scare anyone.
"It's cruel, but this is no joke. Something's going to happen. Something dangerous...people are going to die. I don't know exactly what it is that you are going to be a part of...a murder, a scheme, a conspiracy of some sorts."
The real question was now, was Sara the victim or the killer? Free will was always a factor, and things could still play out differently, but this event was so close she could almost smell the fumes. Fumes of dead bodies...of deceit, and of death. She was right. This wasn't funny.
Not at all.

Die... This girl was predicting death in Sara's future. But people will die. Not Sara right...? Sara had people problems to begin with. Did their deaths really matter to her? Going to these high schools had hardened her, for sure, but... Ya. She cared. She couldn't play that one off. There was no way around that one. Whether she knew them or not, if their death had to do with her, she could feel for them. She would feel for them. No matter how much she tried to hide it.
Well... If there was any way to avoid it, Sara was going to take it. She would stay home for a few days. Not like she wanted to be here anyways. Not if there was a chance she was going to run into a certain someone she had left knocked out in a park...
But Sara didn't want to think about this. This wasn't happy stuff, this wasn't fun. This wasn't even really interesting. It was scary. This girl was scary. Sara wasn't one to be frightened easily, but her skin was covered in goosebumps, her arms shaking slightly. The girl was talking with such certainty. She needed to get away from her. Get away and forget this ever happened.
Sara pushed herself back to her feet and stumbled across the hall to her locker, opening the door and stuffing her things into her bag. "I need to go home..." She dropped her head, speaking quietly. "I should go home... right?" The question was indirect, but it was Sara's way of asking if there was anything she could do to stop what was happening. Not that she believed it... But.. just in case...

Aurora didn't know what Sara would do at this point. Right now, the two of them needed to seperate from one another. This conversation was going for the worst. Sara needed to leave, to get out. And so did Thirteen. The class she was going to could wait. Her predictions were always just a chance, but what made her special was the particularly high chance...over 90% actually. That was a pretty damned high chance of death alright.
"I can't tell what you should do...everyone is different...just be on the look out okay?"
And that would be it. Thirteen would pick herself up and attempt to leave...stumbling at first, but then getting out safely. To those readers that might have thought she was joking...she wasn't something was going to down. Something soon. Someone was going to die. Either her...or by her hands.
