Graceful!... or not.

Nick wouldn't let her have her glasses back that easily. He took them off with the hand farthest away from her, and held them so if she wanted them back, she would have to stretch her arm across him to attempt to retrieve them.

"Hm, well I think you look very cute without your glasses. Not that you don't look cute with them."

Nick was a sly dog, and he knew that she couldn't see very well without her glasses. If she reached for them, her head would be parallel to his, and he would be able to steal a quick, but passionate kiss from her. She wouldn't have seen it coming.

Oooooo! Playing keep away… grr. Well considering my sight I didn’t really have any choice in that I had to try and get them back. So I shifted so I could reach across to Nick’s hand and get my glasses. Now to those of you getting the picture you might be realizing the problem with this strategy. It played right into what his plan was… face to face and well…

I froze when he commented again on my looks and I realized how close I was to him. And then it happened…

The Kiss!!! O.O

… I was frozen and in shock and… wow. My head was spinning… my first kiss… and with a cute guy to boot. I admit that I got lost in the moment very quickly but can I be blamed? On top of that the repercussions that all you readers know are looming were nowhere near my thoughts. I just wanted to enjoy the moment.

Of course as soon as it ended I was going to fall. I think by now we know I don’t have great balance so being stretched out trying for my glasses and then being shocked with a kiss… yeah. I was going to fall across the bench, and his lap as well… oh boy. ^.^;;;;

She hadn't seen it coming, just as Nick had planned. When the kiss disconnected, the shock had made he stop halfway and fall onto his lap. He smiled and looked down at her, putting the glasses he stole back on her face as she lay across him looking upward.

"There you go. All better now; you can see."

He smirked at her, eyes glimmering in the reflection of the sunlight that was able to make its way into the little patio as he looked down at her, sprawled across him.

"So how was it? From what I could tell you quite enjoyed it. There's definitely more where that came from."

He knew she wasn't expecting any of this and that's how Nick wanted it to be.

I still in a bit of a daze from everything when Nick put my glasses back on my face. I still was trying to get a hold of my thoughts when he asked how it was… erk. Looking up at him and that smirk, those eyes and trying to think of an answer, well you can guess what my reaction was. Yep, the blood rushed straight to my head and I went beet red. In an attempt to hide that I shot up into a sitting position and turned away while I mumbled out a response.

“W-w-well it was… f-fine.”

>.<‘ Great answer Kayna. But I couldn’t think of anything else to say. I mean, how do you answer a question like that? I adjusted my glasses and thought of what else to say after that.

“So… how often do you bring girls up here?”

I know… probably not the nicest thing to ask but seriously, I may be a bit clumsy and ditzy but I’m not stupid. I could tell Nick was a flirt, it was only rational to think he’d tried this before. I just hoped he didn’t take too much offense to it. And I will admit that I may have had other reasons to ask a question… >.>

“W-w-well it was… f-fine.”

Fine!? He knew she was just shocked from the whole thing, and obviously she wasn't used to it and shy because normally he would have got magnificent, or something to that degree. Plus she was rather embarrassed.

“So… how often do you bring girls up here?”

Nick laughed.

"You're the only person I've ever brought up here."

Which was true, Nick had many places he could have brought many girls, but the truth was she was not only the first to be in this spot, but also the first he had brought to one of his places. He smiled lightly.

"I'm sorry if it was too sudden for you, I... I just couldn't help myself."

He laughed? Why’d he laugh at that?! I wasn’t really sure but also did not have the time to dwell on it as the answer shocked me. I was the only one? As nice as that may have sounded, I wasn’t sure if I could really trust. After all couldn’t he just be saying it because that’s what I wanted to hear? Starting to see how paranoid I can be at times? >.> But I let him continue without interruption… the apology was appreciated though perhaps unneeded.

“Its… *sigh*… ok. I just wasn’t expecting that and… it was my first kiss.”

I gave a little sheepish laugh as I admitted that little fact, though he might have figured that out by now. I took a deep breath and glanced sidelong at Nick as I just checked on one thing.

“… Is that true about me being the only?”

I wanted to make sure I wasn’t being lied to. However as much as I tried to pick one out, Nick was smooth and my street smarts aren’t exactly stellar… I would just have to trust his honesty I guess.

“Its… *sigh*… ok. I just wasn’t expecting that and… it was my first kiss.”[/i]

Nick thought she hadn't had a lot of action due to her being shy and all, but he never would have thought it was her first kiss. But, then again, an impromptu first kiss isn't necessarily a bad thing... and Nick had enjoyed it. He wondered what she thought about it. She looked at him with a suspicious sidelong glace.

“… Is that true about me being the only?”[/i]

She didn't seem to believe him, which was understandable, considering how he flirted with her. Nick looked at her, dead in the eyes, and spoke seriously, never faltering.

"I swear to you that you are the only person I've taken here. And if there's one thing that I never do, it's lie."

Which was true. Of course there were the little white lies everyone can't help but do, but Nick really kept a good conscience about lying.

Given the words and delivery, I couldn’t see any little bit that might indicate a lie so… I would have you take him at his word. So the decision came down to if I really wanted to chance the… relationship(?) given my own… uniqueness or if I would nip it in the butt to start, sort of speak. With my eyes shifted away toward the landscape before us I quickly thought over everything as I took a very deep breath. I shut my eyes and let a long moment pass before I exhaled having made up my mind…

Slowly I tilted toward him until my head was resting on his shoulder, my eyes closed and a small little smile on my face. I kept my hands folded neatly in my lap as I let out a more contented sigh, speaking two simple words.

“Ok then.”

From now on I was just going to relax and be myself, no more thinking such much or being overly nervous.

Kayna's head fell neatly onto Nick's shoulder and he was content. She had thought it over in her head and had decided to go with the flow, as he could tell she was a lot more calm now. Nick wondered what made her so shy. Perhaps it was just because she was sort of nerdy and really didn't take time to attempt to communicate with the opposite sex. Now that she was calm, however, he wasn't afraid to ask.

He titled his head lightly onto hers.

"So why are you so shy? A cute girl like you shouldn't be so reluctant towards boys."

If I had thought to predict some questions that might come my way that probably would have been near the top of the list. Of course I didn’t need to practice the answer as I had done so many times before at last school, though not with the compliment, which reinforced my smile. So I gave the gentlest of shrugs as to not cause much disturbance.

“My parents are very, very overprotective. I was home schooled until three years ago…”

I paused for a moment before adding the little shocking tidbit of…

“… and my dad is a hippy.”

I let out a small giggle, in my experience most people really didn’t think about ‘hippies’ anymore… kind of like they disappeared or something. Nope, my dad is just that with the tie-dye shirts, headbands, hemp sandals, and his own little pot plants ^.^’’’

Nick laughed at the hippie part, but it made sense to why she would be a bit more closed towards people. She was socially suffocated for most of her life, and only recently was she released into the wild. The basis for an adequate social life had been cut off for Kayna. And now Nick was giving her a bit of a "culture shock".

"I bet I kind of scared you then... when I kissed you, I mean."

Nick wasn't one to hide the fact that he kissed her. He was proud of himself for doing so, so early in the game. He sat up straight and looked over to her.

"So! What did you want to do now?"

Good thing that he found my dad’s status to be humorous because I sure did, still love him to death. Anyway I gave Nick a playful smack on the chest when he brought up the kiss and my reaction to it. So I had acted awkwardly… I mean who wouldn’t? Shush. >.>

“I would say shocked… not scared.”

Noticing his adjustment and hearing the question, I shifted slightly to look up at him with a bright little smile.

“Well, you stole me away from class so… you pick…or”

I slowly got up and took a step before spinning about to face him again. I had the same smile be added a small forward tilt to be face to face as I tilted my head slightly to the right and placed my hands behind my back.

“… we could adjourn so I don’t miss any more classes and you can take me out this weekend to show me the city. I haven’t really been anywhere other than the school.”

I paused for a moment while standing back up straight and shrugging with a slight wink.

“Or both.”

… notice the change? Teehee, soooo much more comfortable without all the worrying.

Nick noticed immediately that Kayna was less shy around him and way more flirty. He also liked how she mentioned him stealing her from her classes. Nick got up and started dilly dallying around where she stood.

"Well, I don't want you to intake too much excitement from your classes after all of this, so it might be better if you stay here." he smirked at her as he made it around to the front of her, and sitting back down.

"And I would show you the city, but I don't really know it myself. We could get lost together if you'd like sometime." he winked.

It was true he didn't know his way around the city. He had only been in San Fransisco for a couple weeks, let alone the United States. English streets were set up a different way, and he had to mapquest everything.

"Really, you should pick, I don't want to be any more intrusive than I already have been... unless that's what you want..."

Nick looked up at her with puppy-dog eyes.

Oh, he’s such a bad influence isn’t he? XP Suggesting that I skip even more classes. I waited, watched, and listened as Nick explained his take on the options I’d given him. It was slightly disappointing that Nick didn’t know much more about the city than I did, would have been nice to get a tour but exploring with him might be fun… and no not in that way. -.- But in the end the choice came back to me again, I tilted my head back for a quick thought before stepping over to my bag and grabbing a small piece of paper to scribble down my number.

“Well… since I’m a good girl I will have to go to class.”

I handed him the piece of paper.

“But I’m free this weekend so give me a call and we will go exploring or something, okay?”

I leaned forward to give him a kiss… on the forehead ^.^

“And the puppy dog eyes really don’t suit you… they’re much pretty when you have that confident look.”

A final little smile before turning to head off for the day and get my school day really underway. That would be assuming that Nick didn’t try and stop me with some other funny business like before. Not to say I don’t enjoy funny business <.<

"Aw... do you have to go?"

Nick enjoyed spending time with her, and he wasn't planning on going back to class. He would much rather he keep him company instead of letting her go, which was selfish of him, but it wasn't every day that he had someone to talk to during his down time at school.

"Fine... but before you go, one more kiss..." he smirked, "But make it count this time."

He hoped she liked him and his make-out abilities enough to not be able to resist, and maybe if she liked it a lot, she would make up an excuse to stay with him.
