Vespyr's face was priceless. For some reason she was extrememly cold today, and couldn't sleep. Her teeth were gritted, eyes squinted against the sun, and she was huddled in her coat just outside of her den on the cafe rooftop. Her teeth pulled apart in a shaky yawn, only to slam shut again, chattering as chills ran over her scrawny body.
Maybe I'm getting sick...
She climbed down the side of the building and scampered into the cafe where it was warmer. She slipped unnoticed through the rows of little tables and huddled in a booth near the back wall. She brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped herself in her trenchcoat, feeling slightly warmer. She closed her eyes as the smell of coffee lulled her into a state of drowsiness. Her teeth stopped chattering and she yawned again, half-listening to a heated conversation between the clerk and a lady who was dissatisfied with the quality of her frappucino.
"This frappucino is too watery. I want another one."
"Ma'am, its a frappucino. Its supposed to be way."
"Vespyr."
Vespyr's eyes opened immediately and she cringed. It was Dervish, sitting on his haunches next to her booth, looking at her with his... glaring red eyes... sharp white teeth... His lips were pulled back and he leaned forward until she could feel his hot breath on her face. She stared wide-eyed, terrified, shaking.

Certainly a sight to behold this Cafe seemed to have all the problems, it was not but a day before Gabriel had thrown a kid up against the wall and beaten him into unconsciousness. He smirked at the nostalgia whilst sitting in a dark corner of the cafe. Almost dusk now and clouds seemed to be setting in, perhaps a storm was coming.
He sipped leisurely from his mug as his eyes peered curiously over the edge. The small looking girl with that feral look in her eyes looked just about to assault the waiter. Gabriel thought to interrupt but not before taking a long slip figuring he'd end up loosing his discount price here especially after all the goings on recently.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," The cool voice of Gabriel alerted a strong silence in the cafe, he sat their in the corner a leg crossed as he sat still a shady figure.

Vespyr blinked and the ghastly sight of Dervish was gone. She realized that she had been staring in horror at one of the waiters; and she was not the only one to notice.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," A smooth voice awoke the girl from her terrified daze and she whipped her head around to see a young man sitting at a nearby table, sipping his coffee. Vespyr coughed, straightened herself, and turned away from him for a moment, not knowing what to say. People usually never talked to her. Well, except for that one girl, but... She learned her lesson, now didn't she?
For a moment she thought about ignoring the young man and staring at the peeling paint on the wall, but something about him made her want to look back and answer to him. And also, she wanted to know what the hell he was talking about. Did he see Dervish too?
No, not possible...
"How-" (cough) "What do you mean? Don't do what?" she half-snarled, half-choked out the words like they tasted bitter on her tongue. Her violet eyes narrowed at the man and she shoved her dirty hands into the pockets of her equally filthy trenchcoat.

Gabriel smirked not quite looking at her though he could see everything through the corner of his eye. Every once and a while he'd peek a look between the brim of his coat and the lower part of his hat. It was a mysterious edge that he liked and would probably get into as soon as he'd had a bit of fun with the dictator within him. Hero wasn't his job no mysterious black mask no coat or cape he was a murderer.
Estranged eyes studied her noticing now that it was fear in the eyes rather than cold bloodlust, he though he'd recognized them for his own anguish however he was so wrong, he recognized merely his own fear of a greater strength than his own. Gritting his teeth gently before speaking he folded away a paper neatly meshing it against the table.
"You looked as though you saw death, and were going to challenge him." Gabriel cooed between sips.

"You looked as though you saw death, and were going to challenge him."
Vespyr felt a strange comfort as the young man spoke, and she let her tensed shoulders relax a little. Dropping her guard and nearly forgetting about her hatred for talking to people, she lowered her head and propped it in her hands with her elbows splayed on the table. Her gritty fingers ran through her spiked pink and blonde hair and she sighed deeply; it was a long, exasperated, troubled sigh and she shut tightly her eyes.
"You have no idea..." she murmered through gritted teeth, almost speaking to herself but loud enough so that the stranger could hear her speak. She resisted the urge to look up at him again. He was so mysterious... She had seen a glint in his alluring green eyes that almost reminded her of... No... Not possible. He's just a person. He doesn't know anything. He isn't one of... them...
Even still, she let her eyes glance at him for just another moment and she studied him like she studied all her other people, all the other nobodies. But this young man had something about him that made her almost a little fearful. He wasn't a nobody, he was definitely a somebody. She could see it in the shady figure's eyes.

"Actually my dear, I think I do." He said still seated waiting for the young woman to make her approach.
Gabriel did indeed have his run ins with death all too often. Locked away for years he thought he'd never see the light again, though somehow the place had burned to the ground even still he didn't recall if it was even truly him. Reality again Gabriel elaborated upon a concerned smirk letting it play out, letting it draw in the visitor to this fine cafe which they both had a common purpose to associate with.
"Please, pull up a set." Gabriel said without moving, he merely gestured with the dark gloved hand to an open space beside him.

"Actually my dear, I think I do."
Vespyr's hands went flat on the table and she looked at the stranger with an almost humorous-- but almost angry-- sort of look. He thinks he has any idea what I go through everyday? I'd like to see him chased around by macabre demons that want him to find a way to make two universes collide...
However, the wry look disappeared and was replaced with silent awe when the young man motioned for her to sit down at his table. At that moment, Vespyr realized what she had done. She had opened herself up to another person and started a conversation-- the thing she hated most. And now she didn't know what to do. Her instinct screamed at her to stand up and leave, to sprint around the corner and go and hide on the rooftop like she always did. But something else in her gut told her that she might regret not staying and finding out why this man thought he knew so much. Something in his haunting green eyes almost reflected hers, and so she cautiously stood up and walked over to where he sat. She pulled out a chair and sat ever so slowly, as if at any moment the chair would disappear from beneath her... or the young man would reach out and grab her by the neck and drag her into a dark alley... or Dervish or Calendon might appear out of nowhere and snarl at her.
Vespyr sat silently and coughed once, shoving her hands into her pockets and staring at an oozing cut that peeked through her ripped black jeans, trying to focus on something else rather than the man she sat across from at the table.

Gabriel watched her cross the room bravely while the silence in the room almost grew to a painful point, there certainly wasn't an absence of people though there were very few. Their eyes watched curiously or were hidden behind veiled expressions showing almost too much so that they didn't notice anything at all. Gabriel saw through it all, disgusting they all were, all of them curious for a taste of information but unwilling to do what was necessary to take it. Or better yet make a story of their own.
"So what can i call you?" Gabriel said in a low humming voice still hidden enough to keep a makeshift wall for himself, though now his features where more apparent, no longer hidden behind the mask of shadow and secrecy.
"Just to get on better terms, I don't mean to intrude," Liar

"So what can i call you?" the young man asked gently.
The question caught Vespyr off-guard and she opened her mouth only to shut it again and glance nervously at the ceiling. If she had anything like an official name it would have been Vespyr, but since no one ever talked to her she had never really been called so much as that. Dervish and the other figments of her imagination had always confused her with her alter-personality Rainstar, but Vespyr knew she wasn't Rainstar and would never be, no matter how many times they screamed that name at her. She winced and felt a little stupid. It was a simple question.
"Vespyr...?" she said, almost a little too questioningly. Shit. He's gonna think I don't even know my own fucking name. But then again I really don't..
"Vespyr." she said again, a little more reassured and minus the upward inflection so it didn't sound like a question. Her stern violet gaze met the stranger's; her expression could almost be described as menacing. But then again, she always seemed to come off that way. "But why would you want to be on any sort of terms at all? What do you want from me?" she growled, not trusting the stranger. Of all her experiences, she had learned that strangers-- especially the shady looking ones-- often meant trouble. Or rape. Or something along those lines.

He laughed almost appearing menacingly evil at that point. It was indeed a sinister call of sorts. He stared at her without reaction or fear because he didn't know her and truly could care less for another soul without anything to offer, he felt self sufficient, wasn't he? Stopping his laugh he thought about it, what did he have to offer what where his goals what realization did he truly have? Ambition went so far and when he had everything what would be there after it all? A grand whooping pile of nothing thats what.
"You ask that as though I do need something." He interjected straightforward and blunt, "Truth is I don't need a thing in the world." liar
"What I'd like to know however is why you are so skittish? have a bad run in recently?"

"You ask that as though I do need something."
The only thing you need is... decapitation, Vespyr thought, beginning her usual ponder about which way this new person would best be killed by. She sat leaning away from the table, glaring at him for along moment until he spoke again.
"I'm not... skittish. I just don't like people..." Vespyr spoke in a hauntingly calm voice, which was a trick. She was anything but calm and she tried not to show it. Her pale face was grave, and a feral look glinted in her eyes behind the pitch-black eyeliner. There was zero trust emanating from her at this moment, and a little frustration. She wished she had never even set foot in the cafe today. She should have just tolerated the cold and stayed outside... Then she wouldn't have had to break her own moral code, at least. Answering this man's questions was like... blasphemy.
"Well if you don't need anything then I guess I'll leave, I don't want to be late for... school." she lied, searching for an excuse to escape the cruel clutches of conversation. However she immediately resented that statement, wishing she had come up with some other more believable excuse. Vespyr didn't go to school and it was probably obvious.

"School?" Gabriel perked up his ears curiously, he didn't notice the word everything it was seemed relevant of his current issue, Purple and Orange. Their seven day a week school schedule. It was all ridiculous and down right had no point.
"Why bother with it? Why now?" So many questions at the moment he wanted the answers. Charging a finger on the nearest spoon he sparked a voltage small however it was but the circuitry ran through the soon.
"I don't like them either," He stated slowly in attempt to make her stay, never rising from his spot he stated the words, "They seem to shift, move, collect, infect everything they touch, its disgusting how they seek pride in it."

Vespyr, startled inwardly by his similar attitude, relaxed a little more and the feral look faded from her pale face. She removed one of her hands from her pockets and inspected it blankly, rubbing her thumb against the side of her bony index finger and testing the sharpness of her nail with the pad of her thumb. Nice and pointy, she noted as her thumb bled a little. She stuck it in her mouth and savoured the taste of the blood. She was more than a little hungry.
(cough) "They think they're so intelligent just because they can blow shit up, for one thing. I mean explosives are great, but.. they're not everything... but I hate how conceited they all are. Like that guy-" Vespyr nodded toward the clerk who pretty much had his face stuck in this lady's chest as he was taking her order, and she (a fake-tanned whore who had dyed her hair blonde) was completely oblivious and ordering some extra-caffienated whatever.
"Perverts. Ack. They should all die."
She noticed as someone at the table next to theirs stood up, probably to go to the restroom. Their apple torte was left vulnerable and unguarded on the table and was snatched up into Vespyr's claws as soon as the owner turned his back. Another small pastry falls victim to her conniving clutches... As she nommed the torte she looked back into the young man's green eyes innocently yet coldly, almost casting an 'answer-me-if-you-dare' sort-of look.

Gabriel laughed as the small creature, seemingly innocent snatched up the victims hard earned meal. Survival of the fittest its all this was and now Gabriel saw the few within this potential cafe unfit to live on. He'd make his point and play it with cruel cynosism and sadistic wrath.
"Would you excuse me for but a moment." He said in a strange tone darker and sinister.
His eyes shifted curiously to a golden dark surface as he stood to cross into the back room. When Gabriel had gotten in back he was sure he'd need certainly more than any small charge, he needed their generator. Her snatched up the small gas powered generator and charged himself. Gabriel's body, sheathed in a furious storm of lightning erupted from the back storage room taking with him several charred bodies. He didn't care where they lie though his identity was still unknown to many within the cafe giving him the ulterior motive.
thirty seconds, its all it took to slaughter the majority of people in the room single handedly, as for those stuck behind the counter. A teenage waiter taking orders and a middle-aged brunette manager. They huddled in their corner quivering with fear on their impending doom.
"Having fun?" Reven chanted now in his sinister tone unrelented by Gabriel's pleas for him to stop.

Vespyr grabbed the edge of her chair as the stranger stood, prepared to flee if she had to. She watched with suspicion as he passed, glancing nervously at the door and wondering if she should leave. If she was going to get out, now would definitely be her chance. Up she went and she leapt over the chair and toward the door, looking back only to make sure the young man hadn't seen her. What she saw made her shriek and dive into a nearby booth-- blinding electricity was emanating from somewhere in the back of the cafe where the man had disappeared to, and bodies were being strewn across the floor like dice. Panic and confusion gripped Vespyr as she crouched behind the booth and all she could say was,
"What the FUUUUUUCKK??!!!!" her scream bounced off the walls and made her own ears want to bleed.
