"I swear I won't judge you. If its something I can help with, I'd really like to."
It seemed as though Leanne and Nicolas were on the opposite ends of a spectrum. Polar opposites in relation to their eyes and their gaze. Nicolas was a very warm person and you could tell by the sparkling midnight blues which contrasted to Leanne piercing icy blue tinted glassy orbs. She sighed, it would seem the older boy in front of her was more innocent and less corrupt than her in many ways and it could be seen through his eyes. Then again, she could always be wrong, yet she doubted there was a large possibility for him to have extremely unfortunate things happen to him. Then again it's all relative and it's too soon to judge and unfair for him as well if she were to do that.
"I don't like...getting attached to things. Nor do I like talking about myself." Leanne admitted.
Perhaps she'll just tell him bits by bits. Even the ice princess could not resist warm puppy dog eyes that reflected naivety and innocence. After all she was weak against antics like that! Call it the pity within human nature or just that maternal instincts in women.

He, too, noticed the difference in their eyes. He should have noted the comparison sooner, but he was too busy trying to figure this girl out. Even though he looked like he still didn't quite get it, with that little response of hers he understood her situation completely. She had been hurt in the past. How? Nick wouldn't know unless she decided to tell him, but he knew that would come with time and trust. She would enjoy staying with him, and hopefully they would form a closer bond as time passed. Nick shot up from his tea with a smile.
"Alright! So, ange, when do you want to move in?"
Nick took a big chug of his tea, and sighed.

"Alright! So, ange, when do you want to move in?"
Leanne almost had to chuckle at all the nicknames that people give her. First off 'Princess' and now 'Ange' both were equally cheesy yet she couldn't help but like them. They were cute nicknames and it just gave her the sweet girly touch that she lacked in daily life. Anyways, it was the question of when to move in that he asked. Leanne tapped her chin, she haven't gave the next month's rent to her landlady yet so probably the beginning of next month would work out, although any time would work as well.
"How about the beginning of next month." Leanne said with a small smile after she took a sip from her latte again. "Then you have the time to settle things with your dad and I can talk to him about the whole idea and the rent and things right?"

Nick shook his head like it was no problem. Because it wasn't.
"Telling my father won't take that long. He'll be thrilled, and the only thing we'd have to do would be to clean out the extra room for you. It's kind of filled with instruments at the moment."
He thought that perhaps he made it come off like there was a lot of work to do for her, so he quickly reassured her.
"Which would only take a week or less! You could move in then if you'd like."
He smiled lightly. He didn't want to cause a scene by getting crazy and excited in the middle of the cafe, but depending on her answer, he might not be able to help it.

"That sounds great. Then next week it is!" Leanne would say.
The guy seemed really genuinely nice and enthusiastic. He also seemed to be very naive and innocent as well with those sparkling midnight hues and accepting a stranger into his home. Then again he was older, obviously physically stronger, and well, he was a dude. It should be Leanne who should be afraid of him, then again she wasn't if anything she just distrusted him. It would take awhile for her to get used to his exuberant personality, she never really met anyone so optimistic except Li, minus Li's cynical and sarcastic humour. But the two of them were really nice guys that looked out for her. At least Nicolas seemed to be like that.
"And... about those instruments in the room. What do you play? Or is it your dad that plays?"
Leanne took a sip from her coffee again. She was generally interested in music, especially the guitar and well singing, but she was just a beginner and nothing near a professional or even at any Conservatory levels of music after all she just taught herself through tabs before moving onto actual sheet music ecetera.

Nick was really excited, but he kept his calm. He didn't want to make it look like he was crazy or anything. Because he wasn't crazy in the least, just excited that he had a roommate now.
Nick smiled when she mentioned the instruments he was talking about needing to move.
"Both my father and I play. We both play a total of... um..."
He had to count out the instruments he could play, it might now fit on one hand...
"Thirteen instruments I believe. My father might play one or two more, but thirteen." He looked at her and smiled widely. Yeah, he knew he was talented.

Holy smokes, saying this guy was musically talented would be an understatement. Thirteen!? Well since his dad also played instruments then perhaps he passed on the gene to his son but wow it was still definately a crazy achievement. It was unreal, really, Leanne was impressed.
"Wow, so do you plan on doing anything special like becoming a musician or joining an orchestra, or band or anything?" Leanne asked.
After all if he didn't do anything with that musical talent it would be such a waste. The only thing Leanne was good at was pretty much cooking and reading people. She was proud of her skills, since she was able to just taste a dish and find out what was in it. It didn't really work out with drinks though, but food, most likely and most often she'd be correct. Hah. Take that! Leanne's five years in the Sevren household around those gourmet cooks taught her well.

By the look on Leanne's face, Nick's plethora of instruments impressed her. He smiled with lots of pride.
"Wow, so do you plan on doing anything special like becoming a musician or joining an orchestra, or band or anything?"[/b]
It was a great question, but Nick hadn't really decided what he was going to do with the rest of his life, even though he was a senior.
"Hm. I haven't really thought about it. But it will be something with music. I'll probably follow in my father's footsteps, he's a music engineer."
He didn't need to say anything more about him, as she'd probably meet him. He drank the rest of his tea and set the mug down.
"So, anything else you'd like to know about me, or would you like to open up a little?" he smirked slyly.

Leanne knew that if she sheltered all her problems to herself then she would not be able to create ties and bonds. Honestly she would not give a damn about making friends and sharing secrets. However subconsciously she had the desire to have friends yet she was a person who had a hard time deciphering her own emotions and her own wants. She fights constantly with her reason and her emotions, yet she tends to side with reason more therefore she lacks the emotional part of life in which she decides to stay out of because she's afraid of getting hurt.
"So, anything else you'd like to know about me, or would you like to open up a little?"
These were one of those times that Leanne could side with both reason and emotion. Reasonably and logically she was going to room with this guy and establishing good relations would be extremely beneficial in the future. Emotionally, she wanted to have friends even if she doesn't realize it herself, much like how she cannot decipher between friendship, gratefulness and love.
"Open up? Everything about me is so depressing." Leanne said rolling her eyes easing up the possible tension and making light of her memories. "I'll tell you this, I don't like violence. Actually I'm a little scarred by it. Sometimes I just might snap and have a breakdown if I remember the time I got beat up really badly. But that doesn't happen to often so I can still defend myself to a certain extent."

Nick's face became serious. What she was saying was from the heart, and it seemed like it couldn't take much more of what it had been dished out.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I guarantee that you will only have happy memories of me by your side."
Right now Nick was having one of those moments where he felt as if he had known Leanne his entire life and he would let nothing else harm her. He smiled serenely.
"I'll try and protect you if you'd like. I'm not as weak as I look. I'm actually quite strong."

"I'm sorry to hear that. I guarantee that you will only have happy memories of me by your side."
It was a rare moment. Although his words were coated with sugar and cheesy goodness that makes all melodramatic lovers happy, Leanne was actually touched by it. Under the ice cold exterior and the hard stone wall around her heart Leanne was actually a sensitive, vulnerable, kind girl. Yet because of the abandonment and backstabbing in her life she has grown cold and confused towards human relationships. Yet during this rare moment Leanne's eyes showed warmth.
She had lost so many people and yet at this moment she felt like she's finally gained. Jay and Cain were so precious to her yet they were gone, Sirus, Li, Devoc all three of them were close to her as well and were like her brothers. And now Nicolas was extending his hand out towards her offering her this unconditional protection out of the goodness of his heart. Leanne appreciate it yet the nagging voice in the back of her mind warned her not to fall for it.
Happy memories. Leanne wanted those.
"I'll try and protect you if you'd like. I'm not as weak as I look. I'm actually quite strong."
"I...really appreciate it..." she said softly and gently.
And it was odd how one moment she was still the reserved dignified young lady, and the next she was this vulnerable young girl due to the impact of a few heart warming words.

He smiled lightly at her, leaning in.
"I'll try my best."
Nick was done with his coffee and wanted to leave. He really wanted to go home to tell his father and start cleaning the extra room. He leaned back and looked at her coffee, pointing to it.
"Are you finished with that?"
If she wasn't, then he'd continue to wait, but if she was, he would recommend that they part ways for now and he'd meet her in a week for her to move in. He took a napkin and a pen and wrote his number and address.
"Write your address and number down so I can come help you move."

"Are you finished with that?"
Leanne looked at her near empty cup where only the foamy steamed milk and the last remains of the caramel drizzle remained. She nodded her head before she took the piece of napkin, ripped the part with his address and information on it and placed it in her bag. She proceeded to take the pen and write as she scribbled down her current address down on it for Nicolas.
It was nice for him to help her move, but there wouldn't be much to move after all she didn't own to much. She had always moved around so she didn't have any special furniture or anything. The only thing she had a lot of were clothes. Just 'cause she is girly like that and never really grew anymore after her time with the Sevrens.
"Here you go."

Alright, he had her number and address, and he'd be by in a week to help her move. Unless she had anything else to say to him, he would get up and apologize for having to leave. "Thanks. Hey, I have to go now, but I'll see you in a week!"He would wave to her and exit the shop, heading back towards home at a reasonably fast pace, not having to hide the excitement any longer. He would tell his father, who wouldn't mind at all, and he would begin by cleaning out the extra room. -End-
