Playing Cat and Mouse (Kate)

Nick ordered one of his martinis, and looked at Kate with a funny, half-cocked look of puzzlement.

"What? Buy the place? You must be drunk." he said with a drunken stagger of his own.

Nick had no idea that Kate was as wealthy as she really was. He definitely knew she was well off, but he never would have guessed she had enough money to buy an actual building or such. Nick himself wasn't wealthy currently, but he had been generously well off back in London. Now the money that his father made went to rent, food, and sometimes, if he were lucky, new music equipment or instruments.

Oh yes buy the place. Kate was sure she was going to, if she could remember outside her drunken state of mind. She was already coming up with ideas in her mind. Different colors, furniture, the whole nine yards. The blonde flicked hair out of her pale face and smiled straight at Nick. There was a daze in those emerald eyes, but flickers of fun.

"Oh yes, buy the place. I'm Kate McHallin after all, crown jewel and sole heir to the entire string of businesses and shit my father created and left me when the mafia offed him."

And now she was talking about her past. Seemed like she was heading down the road of drunk and disorderly. It would be a short walk to the land of crazy.

"I could buy a lot of shit. In fact, I just bought a couple of cars the other day after I threw my old one Damien had given me into the bay..."

Other than knowing Kate was intoxicated, Nick was stunned. She spoke highly of herself, and she mentioned buying two cars like it was just going to the mall and buying a pair of jeans. Nick didn't know she was so wealthy until now, either because he was blind to noticing details that would have given it away or it just hadn't come up in any way or form. Nick took a sip of his fifth drink.

"Um... what? I didn't know you were rich."

Nick was getting quite woozy from the all the booze he wasn't normally used to intake. His words were starting to become slurred. Tilting back his head, Nick downed the rest of the drink he just started, set the glass down when he finished, and turned to Kate.

"Kate. Kate. Kate... I-I think I'm drunk." he smiled a drunken smirk.

Yeah, Kate was in drunk land as well. She giggled, emerald eyes closing as she did so. Ah, felt sooo goood to be drunk, no worries what so ever, when she was this far gone. And as far as getting home?

"Me.. me too! Don't worry **giggle** the boys will be taking us home."

More giggles. Kate giggled hard when she was drunk, very hard. The blonde was leaning on the bar counter, and slowly pulled out her cellphone. She giggled a name into the phone, being "Captain" of course. And no, she wasn't talking about her pillar friends, or even herself. Instead she was calling one of the boys.

"Oh, hai One Eye **insert tons of giggles** I think I'm drunk. I think Nicky is too!! Can we get rides.... in aaabout an hour? Hourish? Yeah, I want a few more little itty bitty drinks."

She closed the phone and smiled brightly at him. Ordering another two itty bitty shots. Well, they were small of course.

The complete effects of five martinis had now hit him. The world was spinning, but Nick surprisingly didn't feel sick; he felt good. Really good. Good enough to start making a fool of himself without thinking about what he was doing or saying or thinking of the consequences. He was giggly as well, not as much as Kate, but he flirted as well, of course without thinking. Nick was leaning on the bar on his elbow and facing Kate.

"Kate... Kate... Kate..." he smiled his drunken smile that said he was just gone. He giggled because Kate was making him giggle from hers.

"Kate... I-I'm really drunk. A-And you're hot. Like, like I really mean it, you know?"

"Are you... a-are you hitting on my Nicky darling?"

Yeah, Kate was flirty when drunk. Very sorts of flirty. Adrian would probably be finding out sooner or later. She giggled again, and blew him a kiss. A big, flirty kiss. But only because she was drunk. The giggles just wouldn't stop.

"I want another two shots!!!"

The bar keep looked at her, giving her a stare that stated he would not be giving her any more booze. After all, you don't serve the insanely drunk if you'd like to keep your place in one piece.

Kate's giggly, flirty behavior suddenly changed completely. She became rather angry.

"DO NOT SAY NO YOU BASTARD!!!"

She was a McHallin, who said no to one of those?

"Yes, my dear, but shh, k-keep it on the down-low, you know what I'm saying?"

The question was rhetorical, so it didn't need to be answered. Nick just happened to add extra parts to his sentences when drunk just so they made sense to him, even if they didn't really make sense to any sober people. It was mostly to communicate with the drunkards.

"I want another two shots!!!"

"K-Kate, you're drunk."

That was Nick's way of saying to Kate that she shouldn't have any more to drink, but because of his drunken state, it only came out as an inaudible whisper.

"DO NOT SAY NO YOU BASTARD!!!"[/i]

Nick almost fell of his chair at the sudden outburst. The bartender had refused to give her any more shots and for a second Nick had thought that she was yelling at him for hinting that she shouldn't have any more.

"Kate, Kate, Kate. I-It's alright, we can go to your place and you can have sommore. We don need him."

Kate was frowning, even as Nick tried to calm her down. She scowled, giving the bar tender a drunken evil eye. But with a long sigh she began to calm down, her anger regressing into a sort of slow simmer. The blonde sat back fully in her chair, having lept up slightly to yell. She looked at Nick, then glowered a bit.

Her booze was not going to be replaced until she was taken home. Sulking in her drunken state, the blonde really hoped that the boys would show up rather soonish. She needed another drink, to help drown out... well, whatever she had been drinking for.

"We'll be leaving soon. If I buy this place, he's getting fired."

She nodded rather sagely, still not as happy as she had been. More vodka was needed, even if any more would make her sick or make the blonde pass out. Either was fine with her, at the moment, as long as she got more booze.

Right as Kate mumbled that the bartender would lose his job if she bought the place, Nick saw a bouncer talk to the bartender in a whisper and point at Kate and Nick.

Nick raised his eyebrows and his eyes got wide. And then he felt a large hand on his shoulder. He slowly turned around to see a two ton bouncer stare at him with a void expression on his face. Nick looked over and saw another equally as pissed off bouncer put his hand on Kate. Probably not the best of moves for that one.

"Is there something wrong?" Nick said to the megalith standing over him.

Nick tried to not seem as drunk as he was, but he still had a bit of a drunk slur to his words.

"Yeah, you and your girlfriend here are too intoxicated for our club. She's causin' a scene and you snuck up into the DJ booth and fooled with the equipment. We're throwin' you out."[/i]

Nick sighed; he would just let the guy throw him out. He looked like he could break Nick in half. Kate was another story...

Kate was drunk, that much was for sure. However, there would always be one thing that remained the same. And that was the blonde's no touching rule. You didn't touch her without her permission. Which of course the bouncer was doing just that. The hand landed on her and Kate froze. Not because she was scared, but rather because some stupid idiot had decided to touch her. Put their large dirty hand on her shoulder.

Wrong move bubba.

Her own hand snatched his off, and in a quick movement, Kate was standing behind him, wrenching his arm around. He was a big guy, but no bigger than her boys. When Kate was drunk she was slower, and not as smart. But she also had less... mercy.

"Don't you EVER fucking touch me."

Kate McHallin in fact, did not like to be touched by unknown people (most of the time). Her grip was like iron, and she had no mercy for the poor soul who had done this to her without thinking. A small, cute little blonde wasn't a problem, now was she? Not normally.

When Nick saw Kate put the guy who was twice her size in an arm lock, the guy who was supposed to be taking care of Nick let go of him to help his friend. Nick smiled an evil, drunk smile. Right when the big one was about to grab Kate to pull her off, Nick uppercut him in the back of the head.

Now to a normal person, this would have clearly knocked them out, but because they hired super mutants in this club, the bouncer was just dazed. The pain then hit Nick's hand.

"Ow! Jeez, is your head made of steel!?"

Then he slid over to Kate who had her guy in the same lock.

"I hope that's not how you treat your men, you naughty girl." he laughed at his obviously stupid, drunk joke.

"Time to go, my dear?"

Kate laughed, she couldn't help herself. Treating boys like this? Of course she did! If her man didn't fight with her, physically of course, then he wasn't worth keeping, right? She liked to fight, besides... they liked it. They really did.

"Of course I do. They're naughty boys after all. Hold on a second Nicky..."

She grinned but nodded, ready to stumble her way out of this place. But of course, she had to take care of the bouncer who had done such a bad thing. She twisted his arm more, and more, and more until... snap, crackle, pop, she broke something. Correct punishment in her drunken state.

"Alright, now I'm good to go..."

The blonde let go of the bouncer, and grabbed Nick's hand, and began to head for the door. No she didn't run, even though everyone was staring at her. She was grinning, drunk, and feeling ALIVE. MOTHER FUCKING ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

What a good night.

Nick cringed at the sight of Kate breaking the guy's arm. He had broken many things in his time, being a boxer and all, but the sight of it still gave him the heebie jeebies.

Kate took his hand and he blushed drunkenly. Every one in the club was staring at them, but Nick was too drunk to notice or care. When they were out the back door of the club, Nick spoke.

"Kate, did you, did you see how I hit that big dude in the head and knocked him out!?"

Nick make a suspicious drunken squint.

"Um, where are we going?"

And away they were! She was giggling again, slightly drunk. She had a gps in her phone, so the boys would know exactly where she was at the moment. The smile on her face couldn't have gotten bigger, somehow.

"Of course I did. Very, very nice move Nicky. You should take it up as a profession..."

As to what profession, Kate didn't state. She didn't even figure it out in her own mind. The booze was in full control in her body, and the blonde was just fine with that.

"We're gunna go back to my place silly! There is PLENTY more booze in the cabinet above the sink, and in the wine rack, and all around really. I like booze."

It was a simple statement, but Kate really did like drinking. Drinking and sex normally went hand and hand with the female. Enjoying two sins at once! She chuckled slightly as a dark sleek looking car pulled up right in front of them. The boys were here! But Nick had never met the boys, so the men that were larger than the bouncers inside, getting out of the car... well they might be a shock, right?

Oh, more booze, that's exactly what Nick and Kate needed right now.

"I like booze, too!"

Just then a nice looking car pulled up in front of them and Kate seemed to notice it was here for her. The men who stepped out of the dark vehicle looked like they could eat the bouncers inside the club. Nick was definitely hoping they were Kate's now, and if they were or weren't, Nick was quite intimidated by them.

"K-Kate, those are your bodyguards, correct?"

If they were, then he would hope they wouldn't want to kill him for being dragged around by Kate. They might think something was up between them or something to get his face beaten into the ground.
