Reira? Reira! Reira.... (Emily)

Matrim was better, his arm was healed up. And he was wearing shoes again, surprisingly. He was wearing his motorcycle boots since he rode to school. It had been so long since he had done so, his hooded leather jacket zipped up to the neck. It zipped up a bit higher on the neck then most jackets, and this made it good for riding his motorcycle. The hood was useless when riding, but it helped when he wasn't riding sometimes.

He wore jeans, and sunglasses, but like always he didn't wear a helmet. It was one of the weird habits he had, like leaving the key in the ignition. He did that because he was rich and lazy. Had to make the minimum balance on that black card somehow after all.

When he parked and got off of the bike he looked over and in the crowd walking he saw Reira. It was strange, he didn't realize it till now, but Reira hadn't been around much. He saw her not too long ago after his fight with Emily, but ever since he blacked out in the infirmary he hadn't seen here.

"Reira! Hey Reira!" He called out, and then chased the girl down through the crowd. It was actually Emily, but Matrim was working out some issues... and in his delusional brain somewhere in there he saw Reira where everyone else saw Emily. Not that he physically saw Reira, he saw Emily sure. But she just registered as Reira for some reason.

He'd reach out and pull on her arm, "Reira I'm glad I caught up to you... whats up?"

Here we go again. xD For this special Reira occasion, I shall give Emily a wardrobe! =DDDDD Wewt! -likes to design clothing-

Emily went to school earlier than usual. Why? Nothing really. She just wanted some time to walk around, get used to the school better. After all, she had only been around the school for a month and a half.

She wore a new set of clothing to school today. After all, she had some clothes up at home, might as well start mix and matching again like she used to. She kept her fighting uniform at her locker for her to change to whenever something comes up. She still had her lacrimosa gloves on too. It was a must. Emily didn't think people would like to see the scars on her left arm.

Luckily some people just thought it was just some sort of fashion statement.

"Reira! Hey Reira!" Emily didn't respond or stop, after all. She wasn't Reira. Matrim was just being delusional. She stopped though, when he pulled on her arm. "Reira I'm glad I caught up to you... whats up?"

Emily frowned.

"Oh, Hi Matrim. How many times am I going to tell you I'm not Reira?" She tried to smile, and started to wonder if her depriving him of air on the last fight damaged his mind or something.

The only knew two Reiras. A friend at the beach whom she never saw again, and Layla Clavering.

Oh boy.

"Oh, Hi Matrim. How many times am I going to tell you I'm not Reira?" She said, and he laughed a little bit. He looked at what she was wearing, and it was really nice on her, very typical of Rei to do something new and pull it off. Of course, Reira could never look bad! She was just too adorable.

"That joke just keeps getting funnier Rei," He said. He laughed a little and said, "You know I've missed you. I only saw you that other time after my fight with Emily, and before that we didn't get much time at 259. But at least you made it here so that's good! Oh I almost forgot to tell you, I've got a Qi again! It's not my shield though... funny how that just sorta poofed on me. Anyway, you should probably start training again even if you can't lift objects with your Qi energy, I'm sure you'll get a Qi in no time!"

He would laugh and put his right arm around her and continue walking, "So what do you want to do today? We could spar a little maybe? Or possibly even just hang out and do nothing but chat. We could go to the beach! I'm sure you've been wanting to try and surf... although I'm not sure if this area is good for surfing or not. We should really check into that...."

Emily didn't say a word. It was just going to have him think she's Reira again, which she wasn't. This was already getting way out of control, and the best she could do now is to just keep walking. Maybe if she didn't talk, he'd go away or something.

All of this just wanted the girl to facepalm.

"So what do you want to do today? We could spar a little maybe? Or possibly even just hang out and do nothing but chat. We could go to the beach! I'm sure you've been wanting to try and surf... although I'm not sure if this area is good for surfing or not. We should really check into that...."

"You're not thinking of skipping class now, are you?"


A sigh.

"You're not thinking of skipping class now, are you?" She said, and Matrim got a really guilty look on his face. She caught on, and that was never a good thing. Of course, Reira was his girlfriend after all, his Fiance actually. So it was her job to nag him, she kept him in line. And that was one of the many reasons he loved her so gosh darn much! So he whistled inconspicuously for a few moments but sighing he realized that she wouldn't let up on nagging if he just ignored her.

"Well, I was thinking of skipping out on my English class, but can you blame me? I mean I come from England, I'm pretty sure I know my own language," He said. And looked over at her, "Besides it's not like I'll have problems with grades in the class. I do all my work, I just... I think I could be doing something more productive with my time. Like training, or monitoring the school to make sure fights aren't breaking out, or possibly taking a nice nap..."

He laughed nervously wondering if she would scold him, he tried to play it off, "Of course if you skip we could go do something, like train! I'm sure we can find a place to fight on Campus without getting myself in trouble with the other pillars."

"Well, I was thinking of skipping out on my English class, but can you blame me? I mean I come from England, I'm pretty sure I know my own language,"

"Right." Emily said, somewhat sounding sarcastic despite not willing to be. Something she picked up from her fellow students. It was rare for Emily to be sarcastic, and she meant it in the friendliest manner possible.

"Besides it's not like I'll have problems with grades in the class. I do all my work, I just... I think I could be doing something more productive with my time. Like training, or monitoring the school to make sure fights aren't breaking out, or possibly taking a nice nap..."

"College won't think it would be productive to see your records filled with absences." She shrugged, hopefully he would get the hint and take his arm off her shoulder. It was getting uncomfortable. They weren't in any sort of relationship, and people who were looking were getting the wrong idea already. "Don't you have any ambitions for when High School ends? It's not like you're going to stay here forever."

"Of course if you skip we could go do something, like train! I'm sure we can find a place to fight on Campus without getting myself in trouble with the other pillars."

"Not interested in a fight today, Matrim."

"College won't think it would be productive to see your records filled with absences. Don't you have any ambitions for when High School ends? It's not like you're going to stay here forever." She said, and this caught Matrim off guard. What a funny thing for Reira to ask him! Surely she knew he wasn't going to college, getting a job, or doing anything of the sort. But he'd have to remind her, "Not interested in a fight today, Matrim."

He sighed, "Alright no sparring. So since when did you become so interested in my school stuff?" He asked taking his arm off of her. Something about her wasn't right but he wasn't sure what, "Remember our plan? Get married and spend every moment with each other. The old man left me with enough to live off of and then some. Royalty checks and such, not to mention all the old money that's been stored up from my grandfather and grand-uncle. You always forget that about Luke don't you?"

And then something weird took place, he looked, but he didn't see her glass venetian ring. And a flash in his mind took place, almost like a headache, like he was realizing something. He stopped walking, and put a hand up to his forehead, he gritted his teeth and let out a small grunt. Dropping his hand, he opened his eyes and shook his head a little, "Well that was weird.... I think I need an aspirin or something...."

"Alright no sparring. So since when did you become so interested in my school stuff? Remember our plan? Get married and spend every moment with each other. The old man left me with enough to live off of and then some. Royalty checks and such, not to mention all the old money that's been stored up from my grandfather and grand-uncle. You always forget that about Luke don't you?"

Emily blinked. Ah, so he seemed to be engaged to some girl named Reira and wanted to get married to her. Though, in Emily's mind, it was not easy. Life wasn't all happily ever after, she didn't believe in such a thought.

She believed in new beginnings.

Her trail of thought stopped as he stopped walking, and looked as if he was having a bad migrane. It wasn't long before he snapped back to normal, though Emily had seen enough to get her worried. "You alright?"

"Well that was weird.... I think I need an aspirin or something...."

"Aspirin?" She said, "Do you want us to pass by the clinic and get some from Miss Clavering?"

"Do you want us to pass by the clinic and get some from Miss Clavering?" She asked this, and Matrim thought about it. He didn't know who this woman was. Not to mention his head hurt, so trying to think of it just bothered him. He looked up and nodded. He wondered if this woman might be the school nurse or something. He kept his cool trying to play off the headache a little.

"Yeah sure," He said, continuing to walk. He would head towards the clinic, "Who's Miss Clavering?" He asked as they walked. He didn't know who this woman was, "Oh, and more importantly, have you met any friends Reira? I know you weren't at 259 for very long, but maybe you met someone there? A lot of kids from 259 came over here, so you should be able to find some of your old friends and meet up with them again. That way you don't have to hang around me all the time. Otherwise I might drive you crazy...."

Matrim laughed a little bit at this. While it was true he loved spending time with Reira, it was also very true that he could get on her nerves from time to time for sure. Especially whenever he got excited about a fight, or when he was having trouble and went through a rough patch with her back on 259.

I hope she's still not mad over my attitude back then.... when I got angry and punched out Riley....

For plot's sake, I am making Layla Clavering Emily's NPC until such time that the Transfer teachers issue would be resolved. I encourage everyone who reads this post to please participate in the discussion found here.

"Yeah sure,"He said, gaining a nod from Emily and taking his arm, she wrapped it around her shoulder to support him. Hopefully he was not going to trip or anything, as Matrim was heavier than Emily ever was and ever would be. "Who's Miss Clavering? Oh, and more importantly, have you met any friends Reira? I know you weren't at 259 for very long, but maybe you met someone there? A lot of kids from 259 came over here, so you should be able to find some of your old friends and meet up with them again. That way you don't have to hang around me all the time. Otherwise I might drive you crazy...."

Emily sighed. This was pulling on her patience. Matrim better be thankful that Emily was a very patient woman; almost masochistic in a sense of how forgiving and passive she can be toward other people. There had been a few who had pushed her to her limit -- Patrick was one.

Ugh, she did not want to think of him (of all people) now.

"Miss Layla Clavering is the School Doctor and Biology teacher." She replied, directing the pillar towards the clinic, which was not so far from where they were currently. For now, he needed some aspirin, and probably a glass of warm water. God knows he might have hypertension or something of the sort.

She was still playing along though. "I've met a few. How about you? Have you met any interesting females yet?" A method of slinking some information about people. Call it taking advantage of him not being at the right state of mind, but Emily disliked ignorance.

The two arrived on the School clinic not long after. Layla was apparently prepping the clinic for the rest of the day and was certainly surprised in seeing Emily with someone new. "Hi, hi. Cris-cha~" Shinichi greeted, floating in front of the two. "Is this your boyfriend, desu yo?"

"No." Emily spat, slightly flustered at that comment. Layla was playing with puppets, as usual. "Just someone with a headache. Do you mind handing him some aspirin?"

"Hai, hai~"

Emily would then lead Matrim to a chair, and went to get water at the water dispenser. Layla on the other hand, approached the pillar with a smiling face. She was wearing a rather unusual costume now, which was a costume of an anime character called Amu Himamori.

Apparently, this woman was a cosplayer.

"Welll, well." The woman said in a sing-song tone, "A headache?"

"Miss Layla Clavering is the School Doctor and Biology teacher. I've met a few. How about you? Have you met any interesting females yet?"

"Well," Matrim said thinking about it, "That's a strange way to put it, but there is Emily and Sara Quinn. Umm, the School Captain though I actually really don't know her that well believe it or not. Kate... she's a character...." He thought about it more, "I'd have to say Emily is the best fighter I've fought out of all of those. I mean, even taking into account every fighter I've fought, she's one of the tougher students I've come across. She... she beat me with a shoe....."

They got to the clinic area, and Matrim would for the first time meet Ms. Clavering, "Is this your boyfriend, desu yo?"

"No. Just someone with a headache. Do you mind handing him some aspirin?"

"She's right, I'm not her boyfriend," Matrim said to Layla, which would no doubt confuse Emily until he said, "I'm her fiance."

Matrim took his seat, as the nurse who was dressed in something very un-nurse-like came over and talked to him, "Welll, well. A headache?"

"Yeah, I guess I've been having a lot of stress lately, and I've been in a few fights," Matrim said, "Being a Pillar is hard work, and sometimes I just have trouble... stopping? Taking a break and such. Anyway, every once in awhile my head just sorta, well, hurts..."

Now to fish for some pain killers....

"I usually just take Aspirin, but lately it hasn't been working so much..." He said. Matrim knew the way to get better drugs was to not ask for them, and in fact to be almost unsure about taking them when prescribed. It's how he conned pain killers from Ceanna anyway. He loved pain killers, and with his arms being recently broken the addiction to them was brought back.

Beat him with a shoe?

Actually, she beat the air out of him. Though, the finishing hit was a ballet slipper. Irony, for a varsity captain to be beaten up by a ballerina, of all people.

Emily was coming back with a glass of water until she heard that comment about her being her fiance.

Ew.

"[He's being delusional.]" Emily said, taking the glass of water and laying it on the table next to the chair where she had Matrim sit. Fortunately, she was speaking in nihonggo, so he wouldn't understand that. Hopefully, that is. ""

"Sou ka." Layla replied, tilting her head and smiling.

"I usually just take Aspirin, but lately it hasn't been working so much..." He said. Layla's face didn't change from it's grimace.
"You must have built a resistance to it. I am afraid you should take heavier pain-killers. What does your doctor prescribe you, usually?"

They spoke in languages he didn't know, he wasn't paying much attention though. Matrim had a strange past, and took plenty of medications. In fact, he had built up a resistance to several pain killers in his time of being an addict. Even before drinking that root at 259, he had been one for the pills. Ever since he had problems with that chip, he had been on pain killers. Hell, he even scored them from Ceanna from time to time. Sometimes he had to steal them, or buy them. Either way, he was rich and he could get them if he needed to. He just felt a little better about himself when he was prescribed them.

"You must have built a resistance to it. I am afraid you should take heavier pain-killers. What does your doctor prescribe you, usually?"

"Well," Matrim said, "Ceanna said the same thing, something about resistance. She kept changing up my prescription over time, I think... yeah that was it. The last thing I was on that was working really well was called hydrocodone with acetaminophen. It always managed to completely get rid of the pain."

Mmmmm vicoden with the extra kick! Gregory House eat your heart out.....

Matrim kept his poker face, wanting to know this nurse's opinion on the matter. It wasn't like there was no pain, there was a lot of it. Especially with all the fights he was going to be in, the pain would only be worse.

Layla blinked. That was was a very strong painkiller. God, it wouldn't exactly be easy for a person to develop resistance to such high medications, unless he took it often. Then again, he did say that he was taking up medicine in increasing amounts. That wouldn't be good for his liver at all. The pink-haired woman shook her head, ordering shinichi with her mind to come back empty-handed. When Emily noticed this, she blinked.

"... No meds?"

Layla nodded. "How much of those meds do you take, currently?"

This boy seriously got pain problems.

"Currently I've been fresh out. Kind of just been going without them, which might explain the headaches..." He said, "When I was taking it, quite a bit. The pain always came back after the pills wore off. So I'd take some more," After all it wasn't like he didn't need pain meds, it was just that he became addicted to them from taking them all the time. Even more so when he drank that root at 259. That big Katsuri guy giving him that drink that made every addiction all the worse. Matrim was an addict of every flavor.

"I was always getting injured at my old school," Matrim said somewhat sheepishly because it reminded him of all his failures, all the fights he lost horribly, "And any more fights like some of the ones I've been having and you'll probably be seeing me around more often then you'd expect. Heck, Reira there could tell you about the time I fell off of a four story roof and landed on my head... luckily she used her Qi to slow down my fall," He said, still somewhat delusional. He smiled over at Emily, still seeing her as Reira. "And then.... actually that's probably where that story should end."

She doesn't need to know the rest of that story....

Matrim winked at Emily/Reira and went back to seeing what the nurse would say about his taking these meds.
