A game of chess. Really? Wow. Reira gave him an incredulous look, but it was short lived when he had once again picked her up and carried her to the hospital. She suspected that he wasn’t being literal with the whole game concept, but still, boys and their pride, sheesh! Putting an arm around Gabriel’s neck, Reira allowed him to carry her inside. Though she was perfectly capable of walking herself…err…well maybe she shouldn’t trust that. She was still a bit dizzy from the hit in the head.
As soon as they entered, the hospital staff approached them immediately. Good. The faster she got checked out the better. She felt paranoid right now, and all she wanted to do was quell that feeling. A doctor came up to her and asked her what had happened, in a very professional matter.
“Err, well…,” Reira faultered, looking over to Gabriel to see if she should carry on. “We had a problem with our vehicle and I was sorta battered around in the back seat…I hit my head on some strong glass.” So it was a modified version of the truth. Better to avoid the authorities right now. “And I’m pregnant…”
The Doctor gave her and concerned look. Hailing a nurse, she watched as a wheelchair was brought over for her to sit on. Once Gabriel put her down, they would wheel her off to examine her and make sure everything was all right. Reira felt…pathetic. She could walk. Why wouldn’t they let her walk?! Oh well, better for the baby she supposed. The same nurse that had wheeled Reira away to some faraway room had come back to the waiting room and sought out Gabriel.
“Are you the father?,” she asked. “If it's alright with you, could you fill out some papers?"

Gabriel set her down gently into the wheelchair his defensive mode he was in now made him glare at the attendants making them be extra gentle lest something bad happen to them. He in turn shifted toward the other doctor quickly.
“Are you the father?,” she asked.
Gabriel was taken aback a moment, he hadn't put the pieces together at that point yet. He was slightly startled and stammered really awkwardly, "Um no I'm her brother." He laughed with a quick smirk.
“If it's alright with you, could you fill out some papers?"
Gabriel gave a short nod heading off into another room and began filing out the essential's he'd eventually reenter to see how Reira was surviving. He now had a much larger need to keep an eye on her something like the way he always had to look out for Olivia. A keen defensive urge inside him.

After a good long while, her check-up was over and done with. It ended with a happy note too. The baby was fine, but only because it was in its earliest stages of development. Had it been any older, this incident could have seriously harmed it. A wave of depression washed over her. Already she was fucking up. She felt horrible. An unbearable amount of guilt hammered away at her heart.
“Well Mrs. DeMorvick,” stated the Doctor that had treated her. “I recommend getting some rest. I don’t want you overexerting yourself, especially with a child on the way and the minor heard injury you will be recovering from. As for your knuckles…well they look as good as they ought to be.”
To her surprise, her knuckles were practically healed. Which was strange because she could have swore they were really bad before. Oh well, she must have been out of it when she made those observations.
“Thanks Doc,” she said, as he left the room to leave her be. She was left with instructions to leave the room once she had gathered herself. Which she found hard to do, as that same corrupting feeling in her chest continued to eat away at her.
I have to do better. I can’t be so careless. This…I’m so…
Sitting on a hospital bed, her back facing away from the door, Reira’s head hung low. Her teeth clenched, as she urged herself not to cry.

"Mr. Seran?"
Gabriel stood in the waiting room and pressed his way swiftly to the doctor. "You can see your sister now..."
He didn't need to be told twice, in a flash he was already down the hall and through the messy organization of the populous hospital's refined antibacterial labyrinth. He popped his head in the door and followed with a swift movement around the corner falling tired into the chair beside Reira's bed. This was his fault.
Gabriel's hands moved over the bed to turn Reira's head to look at him. He cold feel the tense clench of her jaw, she was fighting something. Tears? Anger? He was unsure and hated himself for it.
"Reira... I will be to whatever help I can," He said with a reassuring smile, "I can only imagine what you must be going through now..."
He would be a huge help having already paid for her visit and future ones down the road with a certain gift to the hospital a very large donation. He'd also arranged for several undercover guards to be on alert throughout her time here. But who would protect her from the biggest threat? Himself...

Even though she made her best efforts not to cry, she found herself wiping away a tear that had rolled down her cheek. This was a serious matter. It wasn’t just some stupid reason anymore. Reira was going to be a mother! She was responsible for caring for her child, and actions such as the ones that happened could never happen again. The thought of losing her child…that fuelled the hysteria within. Though on the outside, she appeared relatively calm.
Reira was mildly aware of the approaching footsteps she heard coming from behind her. She hoped it wasn’t another nurse or doctor to remind her that she needed to be more careful. She didn’t know if she could even listen to them tell her she was doing a shitty job protecting the life of her child.
The person that entered the room was neither of whom she was thinking of, rather it was Gabriel. Great. He was going to see her crying. Trying her best to look away from him, she found it impossible to do so when he moved her face gently with his hand to face him. Reira looked delicate and it was obvious she had been crying silently.
"Reira... I will be to whatever help I can. I can only imagine what you must be going through now..."
Reira couldn’t help but smile a little at that.
“There’s no need Gabe, just you being here is a lot of help already. Sorry to make you go through all of this…”

Gabriel's eyes grew somber, tired and pained at the fact that there was nothing he could truly do to dissuade her. Protecting her would be in his power but not from herself. Those little pains that she felt couldn't be healed by his power. It was all pointless how all the accomplishments he'd worked for had nothing to alter her situation. It left him more helpless than ever.
A calm hand moved over her cheek softly while he used his thumb to whip away her tears. "There is nothing to feel sorry for," I am as much to blame for this as anyone in fact more.
Gabriel would have to put her through more pain if his ambitions were to win over in the end. The ball was in his court not Matirm's. Timing, position, everything came on his shoulders as the game approached. Gabriel couldn't lose but the young woman here sitting before him was so fragile could he afford to break her for his own end game. Was he willing to sacrifice his humanity in the sake of useless power?
"Like I said I'll be here, it my choice..." A smooth smile as he kissed her forehead gently.

To Reira, there was a lot of things to apologize for. For example, how he had to save her from the Russian, then take her to the hospital, and now having to witness her cry. Those were all things she really didn’t want to make him go through. Just her luck. Aside from those, was her guilt towards herself. Reira was very bad for that sort of thing, blaming herself. In this case, she just happened to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Reira only nodded at him when he wiped her tears away. It was a surprisingly comforting gesture. Her tears had stopped and she as beginning to calm down. Focusing on Gabriel helped her with that, and right now, she was very glad he was here.
“Gabe, can we--”
Reira was cut off when he leaned his head in forward. For a moment she froze. She thought that he was going to kiss her, which would not have went well with her at all, but it turns out it was just a friendly kiss on the forehead. Reira found herself blushing at the gesture and smiling too. She was mostly just embarrassed that she could have ever thought Gabriel would have kissed her. He was too much of a gentlemen for that.
“I..um…thanks, for everything,” she managed to say, after some stumbling of words. “Do you mind walking me to the exit? I think I better follow the Doctor’s advice and get some sleep.” Reira just wanted to go home.

Gabriel looked down with a fatherly feeling towards her. A gentle welcoming smile to the idea. Followed by a small nod.
"Sure I'll make sure you get home safe." A grin and a gentle hand on the cheek before he walked outside to get the car.
Gabriel didn't exactly trust the staff of the hospital at this point now but what could he do. It was necessary to get the car so perhaps they'd have the chance to take off quickly without precedent. And plus it gave him time to think of his options at this point. Reira was originally a tool to him but he couldn't use that card now it was the most important card in the deck but for some reason he'd gotten an attachment to it. It infuriated him that he would have to fight out this bloody war without an easy win.
Unless. Matrim didn't call his bluff? His eyes opened with sudden shock, it was the option he had left he needed this to be a gamble.
A large psychotic laugh left his lips as he drove the car to the front to pick Reira up. And just as she was in view it would cut off abruptly. This was a risky game he was playing but ambition was far too hardwired into him at this point.

Reira nodded at him and smiled. Maybe she was just a little paranoid now that she was jumped by a Russian man…a man whom Gabriel said Matrim ordered to track him. That was a strange notion in her mind, one that she didn’t believe in. She’d ask Matrim about it nonetheless…when she told him about the events that had transpired today. That wasn’t going to be pleasant. She hated telling him bad news, knowing full well that it would worry him.
Following Gabriel out of the hospital, she watched him walk away and get a car. Where this car came from, she didn’t know, but she guessed it was some car that his people brought to him. Which was fine with her, she just really wanted to get home, and taking a taxi was usually slower than having a personal vehicle to use. As soon as Gabriel stopped the car for her to get in, she approached the vehicle and hopped into the passenger seat.
“I guess you’ll be needing some directions huh,” she said. Reira gave him the directions to her beach house. Yep, after this day, he’d know where she lived. Once the car was moving, Reira sighed and leaned back in the seat, her head leaned back. The day was tiring.

(ooc: Ack you caught me, wasn't paying attention to my own posts lol)
Gabriel stepped nimbly in the car his serf had brought down from his estate. He wasn't driving of course he'd sit within the guest cabinet reserved for special transits. It was built much like a carriage in the fashion that the guests could converse amongst one another in a close situation. The black tinted windows provided visuals to the passing monuments they would make along their way.
"Yes, I'm sure we will." Gabriel gave her a glowing grin.
In time he could see becoming close friends and trusting Reira, but for now he had to see her as merely a tool to be used for his own gain. He could not falter now the goal was but a few meters down the road. He could see it but grasping it was another tale entirely. In his mind the board played out all too well but much like Aurora's prediction things could change simply by knowing them so in response Gabriel knew nothing. It was all a game of luck and preparation for the time being.

The drive there was held in relative silence. It was not an awkward silence however, more like a comfortable one. Which was a good sign in her books. It meant that she was beginning to trust him, to open up to him a little more that she had already. Reira didn’t know what Gabriel was to her at this moment in time, but she liked to consider him as a friend.
After a few more minutes, the driver pulled into a driveway that belonged to a very, luxurious beach house. That was Reira’s home. Well it was her Uncle’s to be more exact, since it was under his name and he funded it, but meh it was hers nonetheless. Getting out of the car, Reira stopped and turned to looks back at Gabriel, a smile on her face.
“Thanks for the ride and for, well you know!,” she said sincerely. She stopped herself from thanking him again for everything he had done for her today, she didn’t want to get annoying like that. “Um, don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t suggest sticking around any longer…I don’t know if Matrim is home, but if he is, he probably wouldn’t like seeing you in our driveway,” she finished with a small, uncertain laugh.
“I hope to keep in touch.”
