Have to Make a Call (Damien)

"Why...?"

A simple answer, yet one that spoke so much. Kate's words had depth to them, and the perfect counter to depth is simplicity. In my mind, there was no reason to not express how we feel... We both wanted it... Why go against what we need?

"What makes now different from later or today different from tomorrow?" My hands would drop to her waist to turn her. I would place my lips to hers once, letting them linger a few seconds. "I've waited so long... Wanting to be able to touch you again... To taste your lips again... It was all I dreamed about... You freed me." I kissed her again. "Can I really be blamed for wanting you? For wanting to just steal you away from the world? To just do as we please right here and now in the park?" I would pull her in close to me. "Can you blame me?"

Right here and now in the middle of the park?!?! What?!?! Out in public, and for everyone to see or something like that? That was rather perverted. Perverted Damien was perverted? His hands slid to her waist. A shiver went down her spine again.

This was not good... and yet everything she wanted. Just not here, not now. He kissed her again, and there was something almost primal about his kisses. It sparked a primal feeling in her, for sure. The moment the kiss was over she spoke.

"Because my mental state is fucked. I think that's a good enough why."

One hand pressed to his chest, her arms suddenly being able to be moved. It wasn't to push him away, rather it was just to touch him. The past was so real in this moment. The blonde sighed and moved forward, placing her head at the crook of his neck.

I would hold her close to me, my lips pressing to the top of her head. Even just holding her like that was right... However, I was concerned about her... I knew she had to be feeling so confused with everything going on... Me, Adrian, life in general...

"Kate... I know this must be so strange for you... But don't you think that this is just what your mind needs? That our past is what will make everything clear?" I asked her, kissing her head again.

I didn't like seeing her in pain like this... I wanted to do something about it, but I doubted that anything would work at this moment... Part of me said to give her time... Another part didn't.

Ah, he was a tricky bastard with his words. Kate had always known that he was a smooth talker, and she supposed that he was in his element here. Talking his way through circles other people got lost in. Like Kate herself, she was really getting lost in her thought process. So why even think about it?

Her head moved, and she pressed her lips to his. The blonde closed her eyes and just concentrated on kissing him. On giving in to that feeling right then. She did want him. She did need him, more than she could realize in that moment. One hand went into his hair, the other staying on his chest. Her body was in control, and was enjoying the outcome of it. She broke the kiss and only said one word.

"Damien..."

She was still at a bit of a loss as to what was all going on. She wanted him, but she wanted to be with Adrian too. This was too damn confusing for her likes. The blonde looked up at him, emerald eyes searching for the answer that was supposed to solve all her questions.

She looked at me with those eyes... Those damned green eyes... They were entrancing. So horribly entrancing. She spoke my name again, and every time she did, it only made me need her more.

"Kate... Please, just tell me what you want. I need to know... I can't take this damn park anymore." I kissed her again, returning what she gave me. "At least let me know how tonight will end?"

I was tired of standing in the cold and talking about the past... The future was bright now... And I needed to know where my life was going. I needed to know some vague form of intention...

How would tonight end? Really, it was a question that Kate had to ask herself. Those emerald eyes looked away from him, and stared at some sort of tree on the left. She was figuring things out, tossing them back and forth in her mind. SOOO many things she had to just put together, and the blonde just needed to make a damn choice.

"Take me home Damien."

She was making her choice. The blonde asked him to take her home, which was an odd choice of words considering the fact that she had driven herself here. Maybe it needed to be clarified a bit?

"Take me home with you."

That should clear that right up! Kate was going to go home with Damien, and all that entailed. She had come here this night to let him know that she wanted to be with Adrian. However, instead she was going home with Damien Kross, going to be with him for the first time in almost a year and a half? Maybe two? Her choice was made.

"Wherever you want." I would reply in a low voice, kissing her once more before I would take her hand softly and lead her back to Natalya. We would enter the blue Camry and head off towards my apartment. As I drove, my mind replayed the recent events... and actually analyzed them this time...

She wanted to specifically go to my place... Meaning she didn't want to see Adrian... Meaning... Was this a yes? Or was it something more... physical? I wouldn't turn it down if it were so... In fact, it was honestly everything I wanted.

We would pull up in the parking space of my apartment, and again taking her hand, I would lead her to my door.

Well... so begins a new chapter.
